[+] 6.0 Not suitable for heavy weights
The spring tension is ineffective if you're on the heavier side (180+). At even the highest spring tension the back support just falls flat when I lean my back on the same. End of the day Iam forced to revert to the old manner of pulling myself up for each crunch.

Might work better for folks with a lower body weight.

Assembly is easy and takes barely 5-10 mins.

[+] 8.0 Only one repariable problem otherwise very satisfied
Within the first few days of use both brackets that hold the securing bar cracked. I was able to repair the cracks with Gorilla Glue. Overall, I am very happy with the Ab Rocket. It makes doing sit-ups very easy.

[+] 8.0 Helpful assistantce with sit-ups
I ordered the Ab Rocket about 6 or 7 weeks ago. It arrived quickly and was easy to put together. This device is good in assisting with sit-ups and leg lifts. I am very pleased with my purchase and I am still using it. I have lost 10 pounds in the last 6 weeks and no doubt the Ab Rocket is part of the reason, but I am also using the "Thigh Master" and hand weights, and doing my best to eat healthier. Another good thing is it does not take up a lot of space.
If you already have strong stomach muscles and can do sit-ups without assistance I would see no reason to get this, but if you have allowed yourself to get out of shape like me, it is helpful.
It is advertised that the rollers feel like a massage on your back and that the device will support your neck. For me, it does not feel like a massage (though it does provide support while still strengthening your stomach and lower back), and it does not provide neck support like I was hoping. I still recommend the product to the out of shape individual with weak stomach and back muscles.

[+] 8.0 Ab Rocket review
If you want to do sit-ups (crunches) and not struggle doing them, this is the product for you. It's easy to set up and takes just a few minutes before you are ready to go. Don't expect strong resistance even with the hardest level. But, once you get used to it, this is a wonderful product. You can click off sit-ups effortlessly anytime of day. I would recommend the Ab Rocket to anyone who wants to do sit ups and not strain themselves while doing it. This is especially important as you get older. Eric

[+] 2.0 Worthless
This product is garbage. There is not much for me to say about it. The rollers are designed to "massage" your back. Two of the rollers didn't even touch my back (I am 6', 180 lbs). The ones that did actually were very uncomfortable and definitely didn't give me a massage. Using the product felt awkward and uncomfortable as well but I kept with it for 4 months. After 4 months, there was zero difference with my abs. The meal plan it comes with is cheap and worthless as well. I believe this product is an attempt to jump on the health craze, regardless of whether it actually works. There may be a lot of "gimmicky" ab machines out there that actually work, but unfortunately this isn't one of them.

[+] 2.0 DON'T BUY - IF YOUR WEIGHT OVER 150 LBS
I'M SURE THIS IS A NICE PRODUCT, IF YOUR A FEATHER WEIGHT! BUT IF YOUR OVER 200 LBS OR MORE, EVEN THE STRONGEST SPRING THEY SUPPLY WILL NOT HELP WITH YOUR SIT UPS! I AM 66 YEARS OLD, 6'1", 240 LBS AND IT DOES NOT FUNCTION AS ADVERTISED FOR ME. IN ORDER FOR ME TO USE IT AT ALL, I HAVE TO POSITION THE BACK SO IT REST ON EITHER A CHAIR OR THE SOFA. SO IF YOUR MY SIZE DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY OR (AS I AM DOING, BY DIETING AND TREAD MILL USE) LOOSE ABOUT 40 LBS!!!!!!

[+] 8.0 Works Well
Bought this device a few weeks ago. It does take a bit to get used to. Your body must get accustomed to the movement but after a few times doing the crunches you will no longer have any difficulties AND it does work, that is for sure. The Rocket is durable too. The top head rest was a little awkward for me as I am over 6 foot tall. All I did was wrap an old towel around it and it works fine. I would recommend this product.

[+] 8.0 Easy to do
I was visiting my cousin over the summer and he had the Ab Rocket. I tried it because I find setups and crunches bother my back and neck. With the Ab Rocket I get the support I need and I saw a difference in two weeks. I am not too tired when finished

[+] 8.0 DEAL with it
After a lengthy bout with chronic illness, I'm gradually building up muscle mass and physical strength again. Following injuries from a car crash, I really must have support to do the sit-ups that are essential to managing form and function.

I bought this from Amazon ONLY BECAUSE of Amazon's excellent return policy. Though I was initially skeptical of the TV ads, I am VERY impressed with the Ab Rocker. I was able to set it up myself without any help from anyone. Very little work involved, mostly pre-assembled. If my hands were more arthritic, I suppose I would have needed some help with the tension springs.

I've used it about 4 times and already achieved significant changes in my abdominal profile (and the fit of my jeans). You have to work with the machine the way that it is made. I expected the rollers to massage my back while I was exercising, but they don't really do that for me. What they do IS awesome, though. When you have reached full extension and the machine back is on the floor under you, then you just relax into the rollers and let them provide gentle pressure for a few seconds before contracting to return to upright. While you are relaxing your back into the rollers, pay attention to how your abdominal muscles are contracted. You may be surprised at the locations and the effects achieved.

Also, be sure to set the upper most roller to support your NECK, NOT the back of your head.

If used properly, this machine delivers. It probably is a little over-priced for it's category. The market it serves best would be better served at about $59 - $69, rather than Amazon's current price of $99. Single moms, military wives, folks with less discretionary dollars would probably buy it at a lower price point. Watch for an Amazon sale, folks!

[+] 4.0 Not comfortable for my height
I was not comfortable at all working this machine. I was hoping with my back problems that not lying on the floor would be better, but the rollers were uncomfortable and I could not get it in the right resistance.

[+] 10.0 The Laziest Six Pack Ever!!!
This product really works. My sister first got it and when I saw how easy and well it worked I had to get on for myself. You could even watch t.v while doing it. It really is just rocking back and forth, and all you are using is your stomach. Assembly was a little hard, you have to put some muscle in to it, but that is pretty much it. This really works, and coming from a person who use to work out the old fashion way, this is much more effective and if your back hurts with this, it's only because of the tightening of the muscles around your abs. Get this product and enjoy!!!.

[+] 10.0 Your ABS will BURN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I just received the Ab Rocket and it is the greatest! I've read all the reviews when deciding to buy and I COMPLETELY disagree with the following comments (carpet stains, noise, made of plastic, not enough resistance) - those are all lies!!!

I'm not kidding. It makes NO NOISE, it is made of metal which is welded (and I weld and so I know what a good weld looks like), it doesn't stain carpets and it has plenty of resistance.

Many people who complain about the resistance don't understand that the resistance is there to help you out and not do the work for you. Imagine how much of an ab workout you would get if you sat in the front seat of your car and hit the button to make your car seat go into its upright position???? And this is the type of support people are expecting!! You would never work your abs that way. The resistance is there to assist you - not do the work for you!!! You have to use your abs for this to work.

The great thing is that instead of using 1/2 your muscles to support your back and neck and the other 1/2 to work your abs - you are using 90% of your muscles to work your abs. You will feel the burn immediately. I just did 10 "crunches" on the Ab Rocket and still feel the burn 20 minutes later.

Do your abs a favor and try it out now that you know what it is REALLY all about. Oh, and the Ab Rocket has an adjustable headrest that fits any size person (my wife uses it lower and I use it on the higher level) - and it is simple to adjust.

I also got the Flexmaster with mine which is also great - each resistance band has fully adjustable resistance.

[+] 6.0 Ab Rocket
The purchase of this item was easy and shipping fast. I was under the impression that it was easier on the back, which it definitely isn't. So beware if your back isn't the greatest.

[+] 6.0 It's Okay...
All right... I bought the AB ROCKET. Mine is not made out of plastic? I saw other people say it wasn't sturdy? Mine is made of metal and has some "Heft" to it. It's sturdy and solid... Anyway

I can't believe it will show results with only a 5 minute a day workout. I was able to put it together (and for me that's a miracle in itself). I watched the DVD and did the beginners exercise. I did feel the burn. The rollers are pointless. I was too concerned about breathing at the right time and making sure my head did not leave the headrest (I kept lifting my head) that I did not even notice/enjoy the free back rub. I think the more I use it and get used to the exercise routines, it'll get better. I was really impressed with the way my stomach felt just after the first five minutes. You can't use your hands to pull yourself up (no matter how tempting it is). If you listen to the girl on the DVD, you will be told how to sit and that you can't take your head off of the heardrest. That way you are using your abdomen to sit up and no other muscle groups. I didn't even want to see what the intermediate and advanced exercises were like (the beginners session was enough). I wouldn't recommend this product to someone over 6 feet tall and overweight. It's probably geared more towards people who just need something to motivate them to get toned. I can feel the burn, but if it actually will pay off in a year, ???? If you are already in shape and want to stay toned, it's wonderful. If you have a little tummy, like me, it may provide results (with a reasonable diet). I doubt this would work for anything more "serious". I don't regret buying it, as long as it shows results in time.

[+] 2.0 Unbelievable waste of money
I ordered this product being swayed by the infomercial ad, but once I actually tried it out, I was highly disappointed. I found that even with the highest set resistance, the machine was too easy and I could not feel anything in my abs, and I am not even a person who works out. Also, I found that the back rest with the rollers was really uncomfortable on the back. The curve of the backrest does not actually sit well against the back, and I found that when I leaned backwards on the machine, my lower back was not making any contact with the back rest. The headrest is absolutely useless, not to mention awkward and uncomfortable becasue my head was touching it only half of the time. After trying the machine out for 5 minutes and feeling like I got no abdominal workout whatsoever, my back was the only thing that was sore and that felt "worked out". So I am going to be returning this thing for a refund and look around for a ab machine that actually works out the abs.

This product is not worth $135! What you see in the infomercial is not what you will receive. The device is made of lightweight plastic and do not resemble the advertised product in any way. [+] 2.0 Not made for everyone
I really can't rate the effectiveness of this product because I had to return it. But my recommendation is to NOT buy this product unless you are under 5 foot 10 inches tall. The instructions said it was very important to slide your butt back as far as it will go against the back cushion AND that your head must be against the cushioned head rest. I am 6 foot 3 and the head rest fell about even with my lower neck (if you position yourself in the seat according to the directions). In order for me to get my head against the head rest, I had to slide my entire butt off the front of the seat. I hope this helps potential buyers.

[+] 6.0 ab rrrrrocket
i'd give it 3 and a 1/2 really, bc it certainly does the job, which is the main goal. but if you are too tall or too short, it's not as easy. my fiance is too tall for it and he doesn't like it. i'm on the short side and i find that putting a pillow on the seat helps it from hurting my back as i roll up, it's hard enough to keep my head in place. BUT you really feel the burn. if it were designed better, i'd give it more stars. you can def do way more crunches, etc. with it than without!

[+] 10.0 Effective for creating abdominal strength
I am not a paid reviewer, that's for sure. I looked at the Ab Rocket with a lot of skepticism but with the simple hope that it would work as advertised. This product does work if you use it right. Initially, I approached it from a typical sit-up perspective, but that wasn't the right way. This is good for crunches, not sit-ups. It makes them easier and definitely more fun. Watch the accompanying video and they'll show you how to use it correctly. Actually, I didn't get it till I saw my wife using it, then the light came on. So, first off - it does work. The other good thing is it really is lightweight and relatively easy to set up and move around. It's true as some have said here - the resistance coils do take more effort to change than I would prefer (I needed to use a pliers, actually). But I've had all kinds of exercise equipment and they've always been heavier, bulkier, and more difficult to manipulate than made to appear. This only weighs 10 pounds, so thankfully, this isn't like them. Is it worth $100? I say yes, because it isn't about the value of the materials so much as it is about the value of its effectiveness. Can you get anything else this effective for even near the same amount of money? Not that I've seen. So, if you want an effective way to create abdominal strength then I say this is worth the money they ask for it.

[+] 8.0 Helps me do sit ups again!
After dislocating three lower back disks over the past 20 years, I pretty much gave up doing sit ups. When I saw this product I thought it would be just like all the others: overpriced, uncomfortable and useless. Guess what ~ I was wrong! I'm using AB ROCKET happily now for one month and have more praise than criticism for it. At just under 5'5" tall, I fit comfortably, however, I could not see a person taller by even three inches getting any benefit out of the neck support. There is no strain on my lower back whatsoever, so the design does what it is supposed to do and I am doing 100 sit ups a day, feeling the results within no time. For me this was the biggest plus since I could not lift my back off the floor for traditional sit ups without the aid of this rocking device. Highly recommended to anyone looking for a basic abdominal workout. My few criticisms were that the three resistance bands were pretty much useless in terms of the lowest being so light it was light having no resistance at all, the middle band not much tighter, and the "hardest" level was just about right. I'd have liked one even harder. The other negative point is that in order to fold the unit for flat storage, you have to unscrew the tension springs, and the plastic caps are not sturdy enough to withstand daily usage. The model in the store already had two broken caps so I'm being extra cautious with mine.
I would NOT shell out the price on tv plus shipping for this, it's just not worth it. But the price here on Amazon is more on target with what a simple at-home machine should cost.

[+] 4.0 Resistance
The Ab Rocket is great in terms of the idea of having the head and neck support. In addition it allows the lower back to avoid excessive strain. However, the resistance for each of the various springs seems to be that same regardless of the color spring used. As noted when viewing the demonstration tape, clearly the springs that are on the model are more resistant as the springs actually cause the ab rocket to pull forward. This is not the case when actually using the springs provided. After a few uses it will be necessary to obtain addtional springs that have a tighter fit thus providing greater resistance.

[+] 10.0 Works for Me
I am a paraplegic and the ab roller has enabled me to do "sit-ups" after 20 years of not being able to use my abdominals. Of course it is taking much longer for me to achieve results, I've definately had major improvements. My posture is better than it has been since I was injured. I'm apparently using back muscles that haven't been used in years. The same goes for the abs, I'm feeling it. My upper back pain has also subsided trememdously as compared to prior use of this product. I would highly recommend this product. Don't expect miracles, but it really does help. Thanks.

[+] 8.0 AB Rocket
Ordered this primarily for my husband. He is happy with it as it does not put stress on his neck where he had surgery 18 months ago. I have also used it and feel it works the muscles needed. I do find that it will go all the way to the floor with our weight but we don't push that far back and then it gives an even greater workout to our ABs.

[+] 6.0 Ab Rocket
I found this product to be somewhat lacking.
Reasons are:
It is difficult to rest your neck on the roller.
Very difficult to fold and store. The springs are very hard to take off and when you do take them off you usually get hit in the hand with the spring.

I don't understand why they could not make the resistance like resistance bands instead of using metal springs covered with a foam rubber.

Overall the product seems to work well but is lacking in neck comfort and easy storage.

[+] 2.0 Poorly Made & Useless
I purchased the Ab Rocket because normal sit ups hurt my lower back and I hoped that the Ab Rocket would allow me to do sit up exercises without putting strain on my lower back.

Unfortunately this is not the case! The resistance on the Ab Rocket is minimal at best and it offers very little support. It has not helped with my back pain at all and if anything it has made things worse.

In addition the foam used in the construction of the Ab Rocket is of a very poor quality and began to dent and split very quickly after I started using it.

I am convinced that all the 5-star reviews for this product are fake and were made by the manufacturer or people who were paid to put in positive reviews.
I would not recommend the Ab Rocket to anyone.
I consider it to be a total waste of my money.

[+] 10.0 My best friend!
The Ab Rocket works great for me. I have had the Ab Rocket for four months now. Without it I would not be as fit as I am today. It is difficult for me to find time to exercise so having the Ab Rocket made working out more convenient. I had absolutely no problem keeping my head against the head rest and have never felt any pain from it. I add 2 pound weights to my workout. I do 5-10 reps of 10 while lifting the 2 lb weights every other night. I went from really flabby to wearing a bikini within four months. With any type of exercise you have to make a commitment including changing your eating habits for it to work. I have found that the Ab Rocket instensifies my workouts so that I can save time and energy. I definitely recommend this product!

[+] 4.0 This is a joke
I just assembled the Ab Rocket last night. It's a complete joke. The springs give almost no resistance, and even when adjusted, the neck support does not go up high enough for me. I'm tall. My sister is short and the neck support isn't where it needs to be for her either. If you already have strong abs, you can play around with it and not hurt your back, but you'll probably hurt your neck. To me, it's a novelty item. Should be sold next to flies in plastic ice cubes, plastic poop and whoopie cushions.

I love this Ab Rocket. I can watch T.V. and rock and I've used it every other day for a month and my waist and tummy have reduced noticably. I haven't started a diet yet but I'm pleased with my almost toned tummy!

Awesome product, we love it. We are over 50 and it sure makes a difference. Takes the pressure off your neck and back, but boy you can still feel it in the abs. Alittle overpriced, but I am glad we bought it.

[+] 10.0 Great for your kids too!
Truth be told, I bought this for me. I had twins several years ago, and never got back into "Jazzercise" shape, so I thought this would help.
Next thing I knew, the boys were working out while watching their latest cartoon show! They actually use it on a daily basis. Who would've guessed? I may order an extra, just so I don't have to re-adjust the spring level (not all that hard to do) each time they use it after me.
Overall, as long as you use it regularly, it is well worth the money.

Good product, shipped quickly.
A little disappointed with what the product promised and
the results! You need to work harder than I thought.
Then again, no pain....no gain
