Best Aerogrow bulb
This is the perfect Aerogrow bulb for the classic Aerogrow garden. It also comes at a great price and great shipping.
Call me naive, but I didn't see the necessity to replace the AeroGarden bulbs if they still produced light, and I was wrong. After a bulb died, I ordered a replacement pair from Amazon. I did research and found that they are the only bulbs which can be used, they are basically the same price everywhere, if you order online, shipping charges vary, and local stores do not stock many of these. That's about it. No brainer that Amazon was my supplier of choice -- fast shipping, (2 days w/ Prime membership), competitive price, guarantee that they would be fine when they arrived, and I love supporting my favorite "shop."
The replacement bulbs look exactly like the previous bulbs and the snug fit was equal in all. At first, I thought that I'd simply replace the one dead bulb and keep the second one as the backup, but after I recovered from the illumination produced by the new bulb, I immediately removed the second one and replaced it as well. The plants have shown a love for the new lights and are sprouting much more quickly than they had for the previous four weeks. Although I'm not thrilled at paying ten dollars for each bulb, I've invested in this garden, and that's the way it is (for now). Aside from that, my only criticism of the bulbs is that one separated from the base when I removed it from the garden. Didn't make me feel too secure even though the lights were not turned on. I will now replace the bulbs in the recommended six months, but I'll keep those which still do produce light as a backup in the event that one burns out prematurely. I don't want to be caught in the dark again.

These are worth every penny! Don't skimp on the bulbs
I've had 3 aerogardens (all 7-pod) going since November '08. They are all in the same room and on the same 'lights on/off' schedule so I never really noticed the bulbs getting dimmer. Because they appeared to be fine, I didn't change them with the second planting. Nor the third...ACK!!! Out of 3 new garden plantings, 2 failed completely and the third looked like a scene out of Terminator Salvation! Horrid.
I had replacement bulbs for each unit stored in the cabinet, but just didn't think they actually needed replacing. When I ruined those 3 new 'gardens', I decided maybe, just maybe, the instructions knew more than this smarty-pants did.
I wondered if it truly was my lack of attention to detail or just a few compromised seed pod sets (I was betting on the latter, of course!) I left the sick, decrepit gardens in place and changed the bulbs in all 3 classic units. Holy Cow, did I need my sunglasses and sunscreen! Such brightness! I never realized how dull the old bulbs had gotten until I changed them. Within 2 days of the new bulbs being in place, all 3 gardens began to revive. That was 2 weeks ago and now I have healthy, abundant, great looking romaine, baby greens and tomatoes growing again. I thought I was going to have to trash those entire gardens and order new sets but the bulb change was nothing short of awesome. Never again will I pinch pennies and try to make the bulbs last longer than they should.
Change the bulbs as instructed. Your gardens will be astronomical!

Replacement Grow Lights
These lights work just fine have never had any problems with them and this is my second order.
Lower price than those on the official Aerogarden site. These babies will last about 9 months before they start to give out. A good deal for two bulbs, just be sure you are buying the correct size for your unit.

its a light bulb...
Not much to say about this. It is exactly as it seems. Bought as replacements. Good product.
This is the real deal at a better price than I can get locally. Appreciated getting the opportunity to get what I wanted at a savings!
Bulbs are great, when they fit. My 1st set were a snug fit and stayed lit the whole 6+ months (still light up and are my back ups) The replacement set, I am VERY dissatisfied with. One bulb fits great, the other is VERY loose in the socket and will not stay lit and threatens to fall out. Old bulb still fits fine. The bulb is a poor design and not conformed between the bulbs. Am contacting AeroGarden for a replacment. Otherwise, these bulbs keep working even with Florida power outages and if they corrected the bulb fit problem, these would be perfect.

LOVE my AeroGarden
I purchased my first AeroGarden 2 years ago and I just now needed to replace the lights. They lasted much longer than the company said they would. I recently purchased a second AeroGarden and am growing cherry tomatoes in one and romaine in the other! I truly have a black thumb, so I have been amazed at the success I've had with the AeroGarden!
AeroGarden Classic Replacement Grow Bulbs, Package of 2When I started my second garden, I read that the grow bulbs should be replaced around nine months. Since my garden had sat unused for a little while, I ordered replacement bulbs and within a week of receiving them, the little flashing light told me I needed to replace them. It was easy to do and my garden is flourishing. Thanks, Amazon.
The Aero Grow bulb works well. I only gave it 4 stars because I'm waiting to see how long before in needs replacing.

Review of Grow Bulbs
This is the second order of these AeroGarden replacement grow bulbs. The first two have now been use for about a month and are performing well. The current order (two bulbs) is being held in 'backup.'

This product deserves high marks because it works well at bringing herbs up fast and tasty!
The bulbs are expensive, but so is the Aerogarden.
Easy to use and instructions are clear to understand.
Thanks!

Bulbs Don't Fit Hood - Poor Design
I've had the AeroGarden for about 8 months and the bulbs often flicker. I tried tightening but they never seem secure. Eventually, one of the bulbs fell out and smashed onto the floor, leaving glass everywhere. Even the replacement Bulbs I purchased from Amazon seemed to slowly work their way out.
I contacted AeroGarden directly and they suggested to push the pins together to get the bulbs to stay socket and make better electrical contact.
When that didn't work, they even sent me a new hood, explaining that they have had reports of this issue with older hoods that were not manufactured well (likely China, I suppose). Anyway, it was great they made that offer, but the replacement hood was just as bad, and the lights started flickering right away. I think the hood / bulb socket is a *very* poor design.

Replacement Bulbs
These were ordered as part of my dad's areogarden Xmas gift. Although he does not need them at this time, they seem simple enough to replace and arrived in good condition.

New Bulbs Every 6 Months
I've had two gardens for over a year now with great success. I purchased two more seed kits (lettuce) and at the same time purchased new bulbs. I just changed the bulbs out in one unit to see if new bulbs really would make a difference, and after a few weeks the difference in growth rate was remarkable. It seems to me that the unit with the new bulbs probably grew about 33% faster. I'd highly reccomend changing these out regularly to ensure a maximum growth rate!

replacement bulbs
dilvery was fast, bulbs last 6 month or more
AeroGarden Salad Greens Seed KitI am mainly responding to the "3 star" review from the previous reviewer wherein he states that he likes the product, they work well and have lasted over a year and haven't burned out yet etc. That's a paraphrase but the point is the same. First, if he liked them SO much why "3 stars"? Oh well. These bulbs are bright, very bright and the ONLY bulbs to use in the AeroGarden system. They should be replaced EVERY 6 months for maximum efficiency-CLEARLY stated on the page and the brochure with the product. Bulbs of this type do NOT burn out when they are no longer producing enough quality light for plant growth. Human eyes won't detect a change in the bulb's light output but plants will. These bulbs are what they are. Mine last for a very long time also but plant growth is diminished so accept this as a fact and replace every 6 months. A small price to pay for herbs etc within an arm's reach! It's somewhat akin to changing your water filter. The water may LOOK the same but the quality is diminished. Just the way it is!AeroGrow AeroGarden Garden Kit, Black
I have had these lights for my Aero garden since may of last year and they still have not burnt out yet. They work really good and last a long time.
