Product Specifications

This cute handheld milk frother is fun and easy to use; British celebrity chef Nigella Lawson recommends it over steam-driven frothers. Plus, in addition to its most popular use--creating delicate foam for homemade cappuccinos, lattes, or hot chocolates-- the Aerolatte milk frother can be used for other, equally yummy treats. An enclosed recipe sheet offers ideas for fruit "shakes" and coffee frappes that can be made with any kind of cow, goat, sheep, soy or rice milk! Some restaurant chefs even froth milk to foam garnish earthy soups.

The frother is easy to use, with a simple black toggle button to turn it on. Hold the stainless steel head just below foam level to keep froth building. The shape of the steel-toned, satin-finished handle is curved in the right places and flattened on the sides for a comfortable grip. When it's time to replace the batteries, a black ridged cover slides off to reveal the battery chamber. (It’s important to use alkaline batteries with the Aerolatte milk frother.)

To clean, turn the frother on and dip the whisk in hot soapy water; rinse well, and turn again briefly to spin dry. Wipe the handle with a damp cloth; do not immerse handle in water. The whisk is not removable from the battery handle. The milk frother measures 8-1/2 by 1-1/2 inches. Two AA alkaline batteries are included, as well as a recipe and instruction sheet. Aerolatte guarantees the Original Steam-Free frother for five years. --Garland Withers

[+] 10.0 Beautiful, tight foam!
This is an amazing little product for $15.00! I have an $800 capuccino machine that I was completely happy with until I saw the beautiful, tight foam this baby can produce in seconds. I LOVE IT! I cannot live without it!

[+] 8.0 Frother
The Aerolatte Milk Frother works great. If I were to buy another one I would buy the stainless steel model with the stand. The satin finish one is a little light weight but performs great.

[+] 10.0 Great product, better than I expected
It is very well worth the money I spent. It creates the foam in just 15-20 minutes, and the foam doesn't disapear for very long time. I'd say the quality of foam is even better than I saw in expensive cappuccino machines. I'd recomend this product to anybody who likes their coffee with lots of foam.

[+] 10.0 There is a cheaper alternative...........
This is an amazing item. I should know since I've owned the exact same frother purchased at IKEA for $3.99 a couple of years ago.

Like whipping cream, make sure your milk is cold. I personally have a Saeco Italian cappucino/espresso/coffee machine that does a great job of frothing along with producing excellent coffee. I can tell you that it still makes my coffee but this little beauty does all of the frothing for me.

Take your coffee cup and add raw sugar. Add to this your skim milk and froth the mixture with the frother for about 20-30 seconds. To clean it, run some water while holding the spinning end of the frother for a few seconds. Turn off the water and continue to spin the frother for a couple more seconds to dry it a bit. Set it back on the counter on its flat base and add your coffee to the mixture. Voila! Perfect coffee with a perfectly frothed head!

The batteries last amazingly long, too. Keep it away from excessive heat and your stove since it is primarily constructed of plastic, although it a stout design. Love it!

[+] 10.0 SUPERB
I bought a Mr. Coffee Cappucino maker which worked just fine but clean up was more detailed than expected as each time it was used, you had to empty the tray underneath, clean the frother, wash the glasses and pitcher. I saw this on Amazon and also, my Grandson that is a student at WVU wanted one, so I ordered myself one also. Let me say, this is far superior to the frother on the Cappuccino maker and my Grandson, says if he had to choose, it would be this frother. Here is an EXCELLENT RECIPE:

1/2 MUG OF HOT WATER
4 TSP. OF CAPPUCCINO- VICTORIAN INN (SOLD BY AMAZON)- i PREFER THE HAZELNUT AND THE ENGLISH TOFFEE
1/2 TSP. INSTANT ESPRESSO COFFEE (MEDAGLIA D'ORO- IS A GOOD BRAND)
3 TSP. COGNAC- HENNESSY VERY SPECIAL COGNAC IS A VERY GOOD.

HEAT 1/3 MUG OF 1% MILK IN THE MICROWAVE, AND USE THE FROTHER TO BRING FORTH A GOOD FROTH, ABOUT 45 SECONDS. ADD TO THE CAPPUCCINO. DELICIOUS AND RELAXING.

[+] 8.0 Whispy Frother
I bought 3 of these Aerolatte Milk Frothers at Christmas-for me and my 2 daughters-and because my second cappuccino machine is just like the first--clogged steamer/frother way too easily. I wanted something easy and fast and easy to clean. Although, I had to work a little on the technique, I am finding this is just the answer to the question of frothed milk. I use skim milk and found that it froths easier than 1% or 2%. And the milk has to be hot to work well. Just like frothing egg whites for meringue, it doesn't work with oil or fat in it. Anyway, while my machine is making the coffee, I am heating the milk in my cup in the microwave and then froth the milk in the cup. I gently pour in the coffee and usually get at least a half inch of frothy milk. Makes all the difference in the world with the frothy milk. Yum!!

[+] 10.0 The Secret No One Is Talking About ...
I received my Aerolatte yesterday and was very excited. After a quick wash, I poured a half glass of 1% milk, stuck the whipper in and turned it on (it comes with batteries). Nothing. All I got was a whirlpool of milk and a 1/4" of foam. Ugh! It was dinner time so I put it down and went to the table. My son had 1/2 a glass of milk left and I couldn't resist trying again so I brought the Aerolatte to the table and tried again. Bingo! The whole glass (1% milk no less) filled with micro bubbles! It was thick enough that when the glass was tilted over at around a 60 degree angle nothing came out. Wow! The next morning I was really excited to make a vanilla cappuccino (add some vanilla to warm milk and froth, pour espresso through froth) but, alas, all I got was the whirlpool of milk again. My espresso went cold, my vanilla milk went cold, and my patience ran out. Argh! What happened last night at the dinner table that was not happening this morning? There is a very simple, very secret trick that MUST be employed for this thing to work ... you must keep the Aerolatte shaft angled to get the froth formed. Angled! Why isn't this mentioned in the instructions!? So, this is how I do it: Put the thing into the liquid, to the bottom, lift it up a little, turn it on and tilt very very close to the edge while keeping the whipper in the middle of the cup and *poof* froth almost immediately. I haven't done anything with whole milk, half and half, or heavy cream but I'm sure this technique will work. Once I figured all this out my happiness went through the ceiling and it's getting 5 stars.

[+] 8.0 Aerolatte - Excellent but Battery Intensive
Just purchased my second aerolatte (first lasted 3 years before it started running down batteries too fast). Excellent for frothing steamed milk (I put 8 ounces in microwave on high for 1 minute), then froth. Very similar to "caffe con leche" in Spain. Product has been reliable --but does take some "touch" to avoid spraying milk around the kitchen. Expect 2 double A batteries to last about a month, using 1-2 times a day.

[+] 6.0 OK for the money.
Works good. Stopped working after a couple of weeks. Then after about a week or so began working again. It's been working for the last 3-4 weeks now. Feels a little cheap, but since it's been working lately, I really can't complain - yet.

[+] 6.0 Works well for plain milk but not for chocolate milk
I use this daily on skim milk to top off my mocha. Even though the milk is skim, I still get a nice froth with this. It took me a little while to get the hang of doing it really well. In the beginning I was always keeping it against the inside of the cup or mug as I ran it since I interpreted the directions to say that was the proper method. In fact, I get a better froth if I do that IN ADDITION to spending some time with the frother going up and down below the surface in the center of the mug.

I've been disappointed, though, that I get ZERO foam if I try to use it on skim milk with hot cocoa powder or mocha powder mixed into. I have tried multiple times with no luck. The instructions say you should be able to use it on hot chocolate. I cannot. Maybe if I weren't using skim milk, but that's the only kind I drink.

[+] 10.0 Works great, amazing value for money!
My husband and I LOVE this frother. I didn't have very high expectations when ordering (just needed a fourth item for the '4 for 3' deal). But this thing rocks! We microwaved half a mug of milk for about a minute, reaching 150F. Then used the frother and bingo! The perfect froth I've seen! Then when we poured the coffee through, the frothed milk rose to the top and there were peaks. (Just like when you beat egg whites.) Sprinkle a bit of cocoa or cinamon and amazing coffee! Goodbye, Starbucks! We also used it when making hot chocolate for my very fussy three year old (topped with colored sprinkles) and she loved it! I really like that we can give the same effect as with whipped cream without the calories! It does use up a lot of batteries (nothing like the kids' toys though) and if the batteries start getting low, the froth doesn't peak as much. The best $15 I've spent recently!

[+] 2.0 20$ are you EFFIN kidding me?????
this type of things cost 2$ in your local ikea (sold by name of Produkt)
I read most the above reviews and looked at the images closely....its the same thing and the battery life mentioned in reviews is consistent with the battery life of my frother bought for $1.99 from IKEA. so i am guessing its the exact same motor in both of them.

You will not regret buying this. You can have lattes anytime you want, at home! Clean up is a breeze, this is the reason you should get this instead of the manual frother. Also it's super fast! The batteries will probably last you a year?
I am so glad I got this, now I don't have to get my espresso machine out to froth, and the best part is, you can froth cold stuff too! can't do that with a steamer!
Works on soymilk, almond milk, soy creamer! I bet you can make whip cream with this thing :) (I haven't tried yet tho)

[+] 10.0 Works great and is quiet
I bought this for an RV trip. It's compact and worked so well, it's now what I use everyday. Nuke the milk, then froth with this. It takes less than 10 seconds to get good froth! I still make my espresso on my La Pavoni, but frankly, it was too noisy for steaming the milk. I have given this as gifts for Christmas and everyone LOVES it!

[+] 10.0 aerolatte frother
I'm sure if Oprah knew about this she would have it on her "Favorite things" segment. I heat a small amount
of milk in the microwave, while I am making espresso with my aeropress. Then I use this little wonder machine
just as directed to whip the milk and pour it into the espresso. Viola, a non-fat latte here at home, saving $4.00
over Starbucks and others.

I've had it a month and probably have used it more than 100 times. Absolutely love it so much I ordered 4 more as Christmas gifts!

I want to make homemade espresso-based coffee drinks at home and I didn't want to buy an expensive steaming wand--and this works great!
As a tip (for those of you frothing milk for cappuccino/latte/machiatto/etc.) use a cooking thermometer to find out how long in the microwave will get your milk to 150 degrees (but not more then 150!) because that is a very good temperature to froth milk at!

[+] 10.0 AMAZING!!
I wasn't even LOOKING for a milk foamer. I was reading the reviews for French Presses, and someone mentioned the Aerolatte milk foamer. After doing my due diligence on French Presses (30 freaking times! Can you say NEUROTIC? LOL!) I decided, as an afterthought, that for $15 I would go ahead and get the milk foamer to go with it.

When my shipment arrived, I looked at the Aerolatte's box. Laughing, I sarcastically (and using my best redneck accent) asked my husband if he RECKONED I would get foam as pretty as the box depicted. We,of course, agreed that I WOULD NOT. How could this little bitty THING with (2) AA batteries create THAT kind of foam?!?

Well, BUTTER MY BUTT AND CALL ME A BISCUIT if I didn't come home, put a little bit of milk in a glass (FAT FREE SKIM MILK, no less) and form a GLASS FULL OF STIFF FOAM IN A MATTER OF SECONDS!! EXACTLY LIKE the picture on the box!

As I drank my DELICIOUS homemade cappucino, and pondered how I much I would enjoy another one in the morning, I realized... My Aerolatte milk foamer is JUST ONE MORE EXAMPLE of much joy one can get from something which is powered by (2) AA batteries!!

[+] 10.0 love this
I bought this over a year ago and it is still ticking!
I love this tool, it makes you feel "fancy" at home. I will say this for true coffee heads this may be a disappointment since the foam it creates isn't as dense as when you use steam but for regular folks this is perfect. You can make whipped milk or true foam if you are patient enough. It works well on milk and soy milk but struggles with almond milk. I also use this to make Greek Frappes! It is a keeper.

I use this product in my concession business to make hot chocolate drinks. It is the fastest way that I have found to make the drinks and its saves me a lot of time from stiring with a spoon. This thing is great!!!! we just pour a little bit of milk into a glass and move it in a circular and upward motion, and wow! does it ever make a lot of foam. (I would like to state something I learned though: Cows milk and soy milk make wonderful foam... Rice milk does not foam at all; I tried.) My husband and I have really been impressing guests with the presentation of our coffee since we got this! I don't think i'll ever be wasting the money on the coffee house again!

[+] 10.0 $[...] bucks for this saves me about $[...] in Starbucks per week
I cannot stop telling people about this frother. It has totally changed my experience with drinking coffee at home.

I didn't want to go the route of steaming milk or buying a $[...] espresso maker. This has been a *VERY* quick way to make foam for a latte. I usually mix some milk with a shot of a sugar-free syrup, heat it in the microwave on the "beverage" setting, and then use the frother for about 10-20 seconds. I pour my coffee/espresso through it and voila! The Poor Man's Latté (as another reviewer described it). Is it the same experience? No. But it's a great experience nevertheless.

I think the tradeoff of time savings (easy to clean and use) and price (cheap!) make this a no-brainer. Highly recommended to anyone who likes lattés!

[+] 10.0 Only had for two days...
This thing is awesome. Purchased mainly to help the wife and I curb our Starbuck's addiction. I own about 6 coffee/espresso makers including a $1,400.00 DeLonghi but always loathed making the froth. Not anymore. I am a frothing wizard. The Aerolatte® Aerolatte Milk Frother, Satin Finish does it's job very well. It makes froth. Mega froth. Super froth. Too much froth. I feel sick in my tummy from froth. I have made froth with whole milk, 2%, 1% and skim. All work well. Be forewarned: Frothing is addicting. I found myself frothing the milk in my baby's bottle and he began burping so I had to make him another bottle. Can't comment on build quality or longevity but with a 5 year warranty and a price this low, how can you go wrong? Highly recommend. ONLY downside - yep, like most products in the U.S., it's made in China. Anyone want some froth? Hiyaaaaahh!

[+] 10.0 Not just plastic imported crap - a quality product that WORKS
I found quite a range on these frothers, from high end dept store pricing in the $40 range to cheap cheap $5 from some "fall off the truck" website. This model, here from Amazon, was great. I ordered two, they came quickly, and the kicker is they come with batteries. They are well put together, and whir like a banshee! This one replaces another brand I had that died, and this one is definitely better. I expect a good life from this product.

[+] 10.0 Wow, From skeptical to totaly satisfied
I have been a Cappuccino lover for quite a while now, with my Krups simple espresso model. I learned the hard way to froth the milk using the steam nozzle handle. Recently I got a Nexpresso, that took me in another level of quality. However, my Essenza does not come with a froth nozzle. So there was a expensive choice, the Aeroccino from nexpresso or the Aerolatte. I could not believe that this little machine battery operated (Aerolatte) would make a better froth than my five years of steam labor. It is just better. I did not try the Aeroccino yet, but this very inexpensive apparatus totally surpassed my expectations. I recommend it.

[+] 10.0 GREAT PRODUCT AND INEXPENSIVE!!!
I BOUGHT THIS CLEVER DEVICE TO FROTH MILK WHEN I MAKE CHAI LATTE. I JUST MIX 1/2 TAZO CHAI LATTE CONCENTRATE (I BUY AT TARGET) WITH 1/2 2% MILK AND THEN ADD SOME EQUAL SWEETENER AND MIX WITH A STIRRER. THEN, MICROWAVE TO WARM. AFTERWARDS, I USE THE AREOLATTE FOR ABOUT 20 SECONDS TO MAKE A GREAT FROTH. PERFECT!!! JUST AS GOOD AS STARBUCKS CHAI LATTE FOR A FRACTION OF THE PRICE. I EVEN TAKE THE AEROLATTE TO WORK SOMETIMES SINCE IT'S SO SMALL AND BATTERY OPERATED. I'M SURE THIS WOULD ALSO WORK GREAT FOR COFFEE LATTES AND HOT CHOCOLATE. MUCH LESS EXPENSIVE AND PORTABLE THAN THOSE FANCY MACHINES AND YOU GET THE SAME RESULT. I WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS PRODUCT.

[+] 4.0 Newer model not as good
I have two Aerolattes, one is several years old, the other is brand new. The new one feels like cheap plastic, the switch is hard to operate and seems about to break, and it spins much more slowly than the original. A problem with ratings like these is that a manufacturer can get a good rating with a good product then downgrade the product and slide on the reviews. Maybe they make two models. If you can find the one that has a chromelike finish and the thinner beater wire it's a better product than the one with the plastic finish.

By the way, stovetop espresso makers do not make good espresso. They overheat the coffee and make it bitter. You can make terrific espresso on any cheap steam (non pump) espresso maker by cutting disks of coffee filter paper to fit in the bottom of the coffee basket. With that trick and a good burr grinder you can make espresso with a $42 Mr Coffee espresso maker that will rival the best pump machines. Note that It takes a lot of coffee to make good espresso. A basket 3/4 full will only make about two ounces of good espresso, the rest is bitter, but that is plenty for two cappuccinos.

[+] 4.0 I'd buy a Cheaper Model
After reading several good reviews, I purchased this item, however, I'd suggest finding a cheaper model elsewhere. It's not all it's cracked up to be.

I've tried cold and then heating half n half to several different temperature levels and get very little foam. Even tried adding water to the half n half thinking that might be the problem. I've only managed to get a decent froth on one occasion. It seems that this little tool slows down and then speeds up some reason. Just not consistent. It came with a fresh set of batteries though.

Hope you have better luck than I! Seriously, I'd go to IKEA as others have suggested for a cheaper model.

[+] 10.0 It works.
Having this item for a week now I can say it does what it is supposed to do. One thing I found while using this is to be careful on not to press to hard against a cup while frothing or it will stop spinning. There's definitely an art to getting it to froth quickly.

[+] 6.0 Not as good as hoped
I had high hopes for this product. I love chi tea lattes, but its expensive to buy one every morning, and I'm lactose intolerant. So, I've started drinking goat's milk, which I can tolerate MUCH better. Obviously, you can't buy goat's milk lattes. I bought this milk frother in the hopes that it would do for me and my goat's milk what it has done for other reviewers. At first, it didn't work at all, but I took the advice of other reviewers and replaced the batteries. That helped, but I still have been unable to get good froth that lasts. That could be because I'm using goat milk instead of cow's, but I have still been a little disappointed. I use it, but its not what I'd hoped. If you are using goat's milk, keep in mind it may not live up to expectations.

[+] 2.0 Junk plastic
Plastic body is splitting at seam. Battery door is loose.

Stopped working after a few uses.

Our other BonJour unit feels much more solid, and has long outlasted this junk. I wouldn't have bought this one if I had been able to see its cheap construction in the store.
