[+] 2.0 Bad Seller
Product never delivered; No tracking number; Seller unapologetic and dismissive - "should be there any day" after waiting 14 days! Money refunded but what's the point of trying to buy from this Seller if they can't deliver?

[+] 2.0 The only good thing is the clip
Buyer Beware!
First, this was advertised as a new product. When it came to me it was just in a padded envelope with no packaging around the stylus, and no invoice. It has wear marks and scuffs all over the metallic portion of the stylus. I own an iPhone 3Gs. This product was very ineffective. It has a slanted rubber tip at the end which is not conducive to the touch pad. In order to make it work, I had to press very firmly, and try to place the entire surface of the tip on the screen. Needless to say, the slant made that more difficult. When I attempted to use the number pad to remove the lock on my phone, it was hit or miss as far as getting the correct numbers to activate. I have a case which has a screen protector, and I thought maybe that was interfering, but even when I removed the screen protector it still didn't perform. Anyone who has difficulty with the keypad who is hoping this little item will make things quicker and more accurate, forget about it. Any hope of selecting and dragging pages, items, etc. is useless. I'm trying out a different type of stylus in the hopes it will work better. Stay away from this item. I guess you really do get what you pay for.

[+] 2.0 yet to find a stylus that works well with iPhone
i think the iphone was never designed to work with a stylus. they WANT you to use your finger. this stylus is just plain bad. there's no better way to put it. if all you want to do is push things (icons, letters, etc) then it's OK (but no better then my finger really). if you want it to replace your finger, then forget it. the stylus will not SLIDE they way your finger will. the tip of this thing is essentially made of rubber which, uh, well, rubber doesn't slide if you know what i mean.

bottom line: don't waste your money on this thing, even if it is only $1 or $2 or $3. it's not worth carrying this thing around for 1/2 of 1% of the time that the thing might be useful for something other then picking your nose.

[+] 8.0 Works as described
This stylus seems a little cheaper in person than in the picture, but it does work. It is basically a hollow metal cylinder with a plastic clip at the top and a slanted rubber tip at the bottom. The tip is somewhat large, larger around than a #2 pencil eraser, but there is a reason for that. I tried using just the edge of the tip but that doesn't work, you have to use the bottom flat surface. Apparently the iPhone/iPod Touch needs a certain amount of contact area on the touchscreen for the touch to register. I had also previously tried the stylus from a Nintendo DS and a mobile phone, both had small tips and neither worked on the iPod Touch.

I think my text entry is better with this stylus, and it's great for games like Blowfish where your hand gets in the way of the screen when you're playing. For the price it is a good value.

I just received the pen - it is completely and utterly worthless. I can get it to work, but not easily and it's more trouble to use than the benefit. I'd return it, but for the price - why? The best I can do is warn others.

[+] 4.0 Rubber Tip Only Effective for Keypad -- not Writepad
I'm a former Palm user who got used to taking notes with a Palm stylus -- once you got the hang of their Graffiti alphabet, data entry using my handwriting was very simple and accurate. Palm and it's suppliers got so good at these that they slid into slots on the Palm itself, and even converted into a ballpoint pen.
I now have an iPod Touch and a Droid and would like to enter data using my handwriting. This stylus ISN'T the answer. The rubber tip on this stylus is WAY too sticky to be effective on the iPhone's WritePad or the Droid's Mobile Write. My finger is more effective than this stylus.
While this stylus effective on the Touch's virtual keyboard -- much better than my finger for this purpose -- it's useless for WritePad. NOTE: I never felt that I'd do any damage to my screens when typing with this. The opposite is probably true: It's too soft and rubbery for my needs.
Does anyone else have any solutions for entering data on WritePad or Mobile Write?

[+] 4.0 I prefer to finger my iPhone's screen
I have the iPhone 3gs and typing with the stylus does give you more accuracy, but you sacrifice the speed that you get if normally type with both thumbs. I have found that "Flicking" with the stylus is a headache. When you put the needed pressure on the stylus and drag it to flip a page, the rubber tip meets with more resistance than your finger would, and feels as if it's about to come out of the end, or simply break off.
Reviewer [A3ANBGDAJX55HD] | Date [December 7, 2009]
[+] 4.0 Not worth the price.
I bought this stylus for someone else, not for me, but since I used it a little I will give my thoughts.
I believe that using stylus for iphone is plain stupid, but I guess there are people who either can't seem to hit the correct letter or don't want to leave the oil on the surface.

When first used, I though I was cheated since the iphone did not respond to the touch. After using some effort for pressing the devise was able to recognize the motion. I expected to use the same amount of pressure I use with my fingers, but I was wrong. The swiping motion is very annoying since with extra pressure it does not slip as well.

The only pro I see in using this stylus is when typing. You will almost never miss the letter in trade off for speed. Typing with this thing is reaaaallly slow. My typing speed is slower than when I use 1 finger (and I always type with 2..)

[+] 8.0 Great stylus that works!
Pro's:
I've rarely had to clean the screen of fingerprints in the year since I've had it.

In that same time it still hasn't gave out.

The nib also picks up specs of dust nicely.

I can use it for a good stretch of time with no discomfort.

In Between:
Depending on how you use it, it's better for tapping rather than swiping for things like games, as the nib is soft and it feels like it's dragging a bit behind you.

It can be purchased for a couple pennies plus a few bucks S&H. Still for $2 it's good to have rather than not, imho.

Cons:
Mine came with a small dent in the stem and while I can feel it's there, it doesn't decrease it's usability.

[+] 6.0 Somewhat disapointing.
I like the slimness of this stylus. It's very comfortable to hold and it is more accurate about which keys are pressed than fat fingers are sometimes. BUT... You have to press to hard with the stylus to make the letter appear. In my opinion, it is actually cumbersome because it may be more accurate, but since you have to press hard, you are extremely slow typing. It would be nice if there was a way to attach it to the case when not in use. (Velcro maybe?). I rated it a 3 instead of a 2 because it was advertised for accuracy, not speed. In all honesty, I have gone back to using my fingers because I can hit the return key, correct my mistake and move on, all much faster than I was ever able to achieve using the stylus. Again in all honesty, I haven't tried using it when I have swollen hands and fingers, which is why I purchased it in the first place. If I find a notable difference at that time, I will correct my review.

[+] 6.0 Works Okay
Wish I could say it completely solved the problem of only being able to use your finger tip but (and this is because of the design of the touchscreen, NOT the design of the stylus, near as I can tell) you have to press fairly hard and have it at the perfect angle or it doesn't work. I found that most of the time it is not an improvement over my finger even though I was hoping it would prevent some of my finger stiffness from too much time on my Touch AND my Kindle. Alas, no.

This was so cheap because it doesn't really work. Your finger works better. When my Stylus got here, it was creased and bent in half. When you try to straighten out aluminum, that doesn't work either! Forget this, even though it only costs the (aprox)$3. shipping charge.

[+] 4.0 Not much better than my fat fingers
I was looking forward to this pen because my fingers are big and I often feel like a bull in a china shop on that tiny keyboard. The Crayon Physics game was the final straw and pushed me to buy a pen. I can't see through my finger to see what I'm drawing so I thought a pen would be the trick.

This particular pen is well made and comfortable to hold. All in all it is a well made product but there is a design flaw that I find particularly frustrating. The rubber tip drags on the screen and feels rather unnatural. I feel as if I'm drawing a line with a hoe or trying to type with a wad of gum. I have to press much harder than I would with my finger and find myself dropping the pen and going back to my finger after a few minutes with it. If I end up not using something I can't give it a good review no matter how well made it is. I expected a stylus that would glide on the touch screen, or have similar resistance that your flesh and blood would have. The rubber tip is a good idea but the rubber is just too soft. its softer than a pencil eraser and not practical in my case. Perhaps in winter I might try again but for now it goes in a drawer, perhaps to never be seen again.
so sad. I had such high hopes. Maybe thats where my difficulty lay.

It does the job you're asking of it, but at a great price! The only difficulty, is when you need to flick, or slide the stylus across the screen - but it's just a matter of getting used to it, and then no problem.

It's cheap and functional. What do you expect for a penny per item? Got one each for me and my wife, but we don't use them anymore. With the iphone, you get used to using your fingers pretty quickly. For other devices this might be OK, otherwise don't bother if it's for the iphone.

[+] 6.0 Cheap but usable
The vendor I bought this pen from (PC Micro Store) sold me another pen at the same time - two prices, two ratings, two product descriptions and pictures - same product.
The "other" pen I purchased was this one:
Stylus Pen CLIP for Apple iPhone, iPod Touch (Metal Silver Body, Black Ends)
I don't know if these pens would be the same product from other vendors or if it was just a scam that PC Micro Store was engaging it but be aware if you are looking to try out different pens as I was.
The pen itself functions OK. I actually hacked it by tapping a very thin piece of fabric over the head with aluminum tape. Why? The rubber sticks to the screen and makes drawing difficult. With the fabric on it is smoother and I am able to get decent results with Brushes and other art apps.
If you just want a pen for typing it should work OK as is. Frankly I feel I would have been better off buying a Pogo stylus instead of going the cheap route.
