Apple iPod nano 4 GB Silver (3rd Generation) OLD MODEL

It's wonderful and functions just as it claims to, cant hold very many videos and movies but hold plenty of music and it was a perfect gift for my 6 and 8 year olds, they love them and I love that theyre happy and not with a huge expensive price tag attached!! :)

Despite of the old model of Apple iPOD nano, it was very good price and apprearance.
I got this for my nephew for his birthday gift. It is working fine and is in good condition.

The Ipod worked well for one year then quit just after the guarantee expired. I emailed Apple to see if they would offer any advice or help, but no response. I won't buy another Ipod. Instead, for about half the price, I'll buy a different brand that will basically do the same job. Then if it fails, I won't feel so bad.

This item is all you need in basic video and sound quality. It may be in most people's interest to purchase a new one, but I didn't need a video camera on it or huge memory. There must be thousands of teens with old nanos laying around for purchase. I would easily recommend buying this to anyone over the age of 35.

Great functioning, easy to use. Wish they made this in a 16GB but great for my use.

This iPod was a gift for my mother's birthday and she really enjoys using it. It works very well and she's never had any issues with it. It's probably a lot smarter to buy an iPod from Amazon than from the store. I got this for such a good price and low shipping too. Very nice!

I got an Ipod in December 2007 after my old Zen Neon mp3 player sadly broke.
Just a 4Gig Ipod is fine by me. This is a great choice of Mp3 player for listening to music anywhere you want! The sound quality is great and it's easy to use Itunes to put your songs on to your Ipod.

Appearance - 5/5 - sleak & very nice, also easy to handle and soft on the hands.
Ease of Use - 5/5 - It's simple to press & play songs and to choose your other features it's basically a big bright looking screen with a button and scroll wheel to scroll through your songs.
Battery Life - 3/5 - Battery Life doesn't last very long if you're using your Ipod with the brightness setting on high, but if you have the brightness setting on the lowest setting the battery power will last a long time [The brightness affects your battery life, if you have it on and charge it all night the Ipod runs out of battery within 45 minutes!]
Capacity - 5/5 - 4Gigabytes isn't bad if you want to use your Ipod as a music player.
Videos & other stuff will take up more space. I just like my Ipod as a music player.
Display - 5/5 - The Ipod Nano is big enough to see your song information & stuff on the screen
Customer Support - 5/5 - Customer support on the Apple website is very useful you can either contact them directly or use the forums, I don't suggest using the forums since no one replies but it's better to contact Apple Support directly on their email they are very friendly & they reply quickly.
Features - 5/5 - The Ipod has a wide range of features you don't just have to put music on it you can also put videos on it & watch movies on it, play games on it and more!
Portabillity - 5/5 - the best thing about the Ipod is the portabillity, you can take this ipod wherever you go!
Good Price - 5/5 - The Ipod is reasonably priced and it's a good affordable Media Player. I recommend this item!

Really honestly I was disappointed in the appearance and it was not like new and I am positive now you were selling it strictly because you were in need of money. It had more than just a couple of scratches also. Honestly, it did say it had scratches but it looked like a grinder for grinding metal had accidently got a brief hold of it.. hence the circular motion scratches. I had to thoroughly disinfect the headphones. It was almost worth buying them new. It honestly looked like they were dropped in the mud picked up and wiped off. It had black stuff caked in all the little grooves and the little gray rubber part on the buds were completely off, not to mention the battery needs to be charged like every 1/2 hour or less. I think your ad for this ipod was a little less than dishonest but it does hold alot of music and while the battery last it does work good.

Did not know it had a BIG scratch on it, first thing I saw when opened, DISPOINTED

Here we go again. The second Ipod I purchased isn't working after 2 1/2 weeks. I don't know if the ipod is defected or what. I should not have to go through this. I was already reluctent to purchase refurbished products and now I see why. There's not way to be sure that the product you purchase will work. I'm looking for this to be resolved quickly.

This is by far the best iPod Nano for the gym or working out. It is very small, thin and portable. It's too bad they are making the new Nanos so tall!

I ordered this for my mom from someone who has previously owned it. It was in excellent condition and for $100 it was well worth the price. The seller even included a new extra set of headphones and a Belkin armband. I love my ipod nano and the one time i had a problem, apple was courteous and understanding and quickly fixed the problem. I know my mom will love it when she runs marathons!

The kids can download their songs, with ease, and no problems with it that they have ever told me.

The product came exactly as described. As it was the first time I was playing with an IPOD I wasn't sure what I was getting myself into. As it turned out, the charger was not easily inserted into the IPOD and had to be really pulled out rather than easily ejected. Ocean Reef switched out the charger for me even though it was beyond the return date. And the new charger works easily and well and I am very satisfied with the product. I would definately buy from Amazon and Ocean Reef again.

Although used, this IPOD Nano gen 3 works perfectly. The battery lasts multiple days of heavy use. My son has loaded thousands of songs onto it. He loves it. Refurbishing worked!

I prefer this older Generation 3 iPod Nano for the slightly larger screen and it's shape. Great sound, versatile uses and many awesome features make this the best bang for your buck.

Features:
Photos...
It takes about a thousand photos to fill up a forth of the iPod Nano 4gb, and they are displayed SPECTACULARLY. I mean this has to display at least 5 or 6 megapixels! It's truely fabulous. To download photos, they must be firstly a document on your computer. For example, if you press 'Start' in Windows, or another PC, and click on "Pictures," then whatever is shown is availible. Connect your iPod to the computer with the Sync wire, and click on the 'Photos' section of your iPod's section in iTunes. There will be displayed different files containing photos. Check the ones you want, and they will be Synchronized to your iPod upon command. That simple. They will be organized into seperate files. To make a file, go to the "Pictures" section on your computer, click "Organize," then "New File." Label the file, and drag select pictures into it. When Synchronizing your iPod, check that new folder, and it will be downloaded and labeled as on your computer. Very easy.

Movies...
What really stinks here is that you cannot import your DVDs through iTunes. You have to buy them directly, which is very expensive--about $15 per movie. Or you can rent them, also very expensive, and you have it for 30 days, or until you watch it. After starting it, you have 24 hours before it is removed.

Podcasts...
There are two types of podcasts availible through iTunes: Videos, and audio formats. There are more of the latter. These are great, because they are all free, and easily viewed. While listening to audio formats, you can flip through your photos. There is almost a podcast for everything you can imagine. Not too shabby!

Videos...
According to the manual on the official Apple website, you can download videos from online, but I am not sure how to do so. I'm afraid I can't help you here...

Music!...
The sound quality here is great. While listening to your music, you can flip through album covers, and look at photo slideshows. Adjust the volume by sliding your thumb across the click wheel. Easy as that! The Cover Flow is amazing. Rotate the wheel to flip through albums, click, choose your song, click again and hear the whole album, starting with that one select track. There are also many other manners of viewing artists, genres, songs, or whatever. =)

Plenty of storage for music and great sound quality. We use this Nano on a portable speaker device too, and it works great! Size makes it just right for kids to carry in their pocket. If you want to do more than play music - get a diferent ipod with a bigger screen.....

The Ipod came very fast to my house, days before expected date to receive. The only problem i had was the packaging looked like it was opened , and the back of the ipod--there was sticky stuff holding it w-some small scratches on the back. Other then that the ipod works great, i just think if i buy something "NEW" it should be new , not openned ! And the company responded by saying its an old model , you are not going to find it in better condition, and that would be fine ... IF i baught it Used, which i didn't .

We've had this for more than a year now and enjoy it. Works well on backpacking trips and in teh car (with an FM transmitter).

The speed of which I received it, was great. I laundered the last one and did not like the newest generation, I just wanted to replace the Nano that I ruined.

A couple of things, since I was buying this product they should have the courtesy at least to delete the songs and other stuff recorded. It was registered to someone, I hope it was not stolen since that could be a minor larceny, just indicate that at least the previuos owner knows that this item was sold. Headphones were not even included.....

The 3rd generation ipod nano. I've had this model ipod since dec. 2007 and never had any problems with it. I've dropped it countless times and it holds up prety good. The back scratches easily but every single apple product that has that type of material does. After almost a year the only problems that are starting to arise are the scrolling gets stuck for a couple seconds once in a while and coverflow is slow. Other than that its' pretty legitimate. I have the 8GB version which is enough for about 2 or so days of music depending on the bit-rate, so unless you want to impress people with the thousands of illegally downloaded songs you never listen to it should be enough to listen to what your into at the moment. You can probably squeeze in 8-10 "cd-quality" albums. It comes with a couple amazingly addicting games. (iQuiz which tests your music knowledge/klondike/and vortex which is a sick version of brick breaker) You can buy a couple pretty good ones on the iTunes store, the best ones that i found were Sonic/tetris/and Phase which is like a mini guitar hero type game. Other features include clock/calendar/alarm/stopwatch/EQ/Shuffle and among others. The battery life is pretty good overall it plays music for a whole day and video i think 5 hours (just dont overcharge it because you can mess up your battery that way). Video looks surprisingly good for the size.
Overall i love this ipod, it's REALLY small, its cute, and it does everything I'd want on an 8GB music player. Get it if you can they're real cheap on craigslist/other websites/pawn shops.

The I-pod was in great condition and the merchant was prompt, polite and curtious when I approached them with question. I will definatly use them again in the near future. Wonderful experience.

I was really hoping for it to be the old model, exactly like the picture, and it wasn't!!!!!! that is the reason why i had gone through amazon to find this product, i decide to keep it, but not too happy but gave it a chance, i threw away eveything, itunes was not able to read the ipod, i am not able to download anything on it, then i find out that the original apple ipod ear pieces were NOT inlcuded!! they were replaced by some cheapy ugly not working ones!!!

I've had this Ipod for a little while and it stopped working randomly. It will not play any songs. The Ipod thinks its playing them but when I plug in the headphones or into my ipod adapter in my car you can't hear the songs. I would NOT recommend this Ipod at all.

We were told on the original listing this Ipod was new. What we received was a refurbished Ipod without the Apple logo. Very disappointed. When we went back on to Amazon to look at the product again the listing had changed to a new Ipod that ran $350 vs. the listed "new" ipod for $135. It was an older model so the low price was not a tip off it was not new.

I was very happy with my purchase from this vendor. The shipping was speedy, and when you are located at an APO that's a big deal. Product and additional parts and literature were in excellent condition.

this product is so small you can carry it in your wallet! It has so many functions built into it i.e. setting the screen to turn off after two seconds or less to save battery. It has podcast and voice record capability. If you're on a budget this product is for you.

I mistakenly washed it in one of my cloth pockets, -will skip the drama- and the next day started working in the afternoon, first a little scratchy and few hours later totally fine like nothing happened. So you know, you can make that mistake at least once.

purchased this 8gb ipod nano in Nov 2007. A couple of months ago the device quit communicating via the usb cable. the device won't reset. tried to get it repaired at apple store and online support to no avial and the device is out of warranty. apple store offered refurbished equivalent for $129 + tax. online offered support for $129 + tax and shipping. New 4th gen 8gb nano at costco is only $133. The original price for nano was about $200. That is about $130/year. the nano was purchased because it had no moving parts and therefore should be more reliable. It failed my reliability expectations.

Well the toufh part to help select music isnt very good anymore. And it will not play videos at all. Not sure if a virus touched it or what. And the USB port charger was febal and broke However i had another one so that wasn't a problem. Had several scratchs on it but that was described in the sale so I knew about that. But I found my other ipod so- I like using this one as a "back-up" for when i leave my other one by accident.
Aside from that it was deliver in a timely manner. Came w/ rectp and And when its charge it works Great!!

The 3rd generation Nano is difficult to find, but don't pay 250$ for a "new" one. I just recently purchased one to replace mine, because I love the style of the 3rd generation. I bought one at the Apple website - it has a new hard-drive, exterior, and most importantly is covered under Apple's 1 year coverage. Definitely worth the $99 I spent.

Love this IPod. We also have the original sized Nano, but this one is so compact and fits in my pocket really well. I love that the screen is large enough to watch video too.

I love this new ipod. I got it about a year ago and i listen to it every day. I love hip-hop and rap music and i have allot so i needed all of the room this has. It stores exellent videos and pictures. Even for a 4 gig it has allot of room. I have a over 1 hour video, music video, and over 400 songs and i still have about a fourth of the room left. The things that i do not care for is the key pad it sticks and the shape of it is not as handy as the new one and the old one. One thing i hate about it is that it freezes quite frequently and then u have to wait untill it runs out to charge it again. I love the new big square screen and u can see the album artwork muc better. U can also veiw the name of the song and the artist on the menu. It has much better games and fun games that u can buy for it. I also love the search menu that allows u to search for any song or artist that is on the ipod. My favorite game is i quiz, it quizes u over ur music,music in general,ur movies and other movies in general. This is a great ipod.
