If you've only seen the movie version of Mamma Mia, you're in for a treat, as this recording features 24 songs (much more than was featured in the film) all sung beautifully by the 1999 London cast.

I was very disappointed when I first played the CD because I realized that I had ordered the wrong CD. It is the English version rather than the movie version. i find it to be annoying. I didn't think that I could exchange it so I am stuck. Next time I will read the fine print more carefully.

Product was in good shape and arrived promptly. However, I did not care for the CD.

Just a quick note to say how enjoyable this Broadway soundtrack is with its memorable and catchy tunes! Lots of music here that is not in the movie version, too. Take a listen and enjoy!

I saw this show in New York last October and the cd is awesome. It has a few clips of the show and the music is great.

WOW what a fun musical! It has fun uplifting music from Abba and is very entertaining. If you like fun broadway music ..this is for you!

I ordered this after seeing the movie knowing that it was not the sound track, but the original London cast recording. It's fun to listen to, reminds me of the movie, but the singing is more professional. Of course, many of the songs are familiar, as they should be, given that they were around before Mamma Mia was even written. I ordered through Amazon and had this album in two days - great service for a great album.

I bought this CD after watching the traveling production of the show in Minneapolis several years ago. I enjoyed the show so much, I had to see it again in Toronto. I listen to the CD weekly and I still love it! The singers are great and listening to the music brings the production back to life for me instantly. If you like ABBA songs, this is a great compilation of them, even if you didn't see the show.

Excellent production!! The film version sound track faithfully reproduced
the ABBA music, but the cast singing was just acceptable. Unfortunately,
the CD cannot show the beautiful scenery/setting for the movie version.

I have seen the movie and highly recommend it to everyone who enjoys light hearted musicals. UNFORTUNATELY, I have yet to see or receive the DVD that I ordered on 7/20/08.

If you love abba, you've got to own this soundtrack. It is a london production though, so the accent in the spoken parts bothers me a bit. Still, a great CD.

Hands down-this CD doesn't disappoint. You know what you are getting, if you have seen the musical-but if you haven't-it's still a great purchase. Great music, great cast, just good music. I have seen the musical on broadway and am addicted to it.

This is really a great CD. I really wasn't an ABBA fan when they were popular, but now I love this music. I've seen the play and the movie. A good CD to "move your butt" to!

The soundtrack is very entertaining. I usually listen to it while I am driving and makes my cummute tolerable

I saw the musical while it was in Boston...I loved all of Abba's music in the story-line...My daughter purchased it for me, however I wore it out playing it...
I just love listening to all of the great songs from the play...

The original cast of Mamma Mia did a fantastic job, and although the new movie was good you stll can't beat the music from the original!

This particular soundtrack takes you right back to the broadway play where you can "see" those performing in your head while listening to the various songs.

Overall a good DVD of the actual songs performed live at the play. Felt like I was back in the theatre watching it with the same excitement the music presents. A good value for the money.

Mamma Mia! is billed as The World's No. 1 Show. Catherine Johnson took 20 ABBA songs and wrote a mother/daughter story around them. Her story is appropriate as women's issues are a major theme of songwriters Benny Andersson and Bjorn Ulvaeus. Detractors call Mamma Mia! a jukebox musical. If nothing else, it is a means of perpetuating the ABBA catalog, a body of 110 songs which surpasses The Beatles in quality. Indeed, ABBA was the Swedish Fab Four. Mamma Mia! stays on tour, and it has a permanent home in Las Vegas at Mandalay Bay. It is refreshing to see a musical whose every song is a recognizable hit. Dancing Queen, Take A Chance On Me and Waterloo transport us back to the 1970s, that halcyon interlude between Vietnam and the War on Terror. We will never relive that period, but Mamma Mia! offers an over-the-shoulder glimpse.

I like the Mama Mia versions better than the original ABBA! The only thing the ABBA versions have better are their nice foreign accents. Both are great, but I give Mama Mia the edge. If you loved ABBA, you'll love this.

Great! Once you hear this music you will be playimg it over and over. Also you will be singing it all day long. This is a great CD.

This is a grand list of songs from the original musical when it was first introduced in England. The songs from ABBA are very recognizable even if you haven't seen the show. But, making a trip to NY to see the Broadway production is a plus. ENJOY!

I RECENTLY SAW THE SHOW MAMMA MIA IN LAS VEGAS. ALWAYS LIKES THE MUSIC OF ABBA, AND THOUGH THE PLOT WAS THIN, THE MUSIC WAS WELL PERFORMED. IN THIS PARTICULAR ALBUM, THE ENGLISH ACCENTS WERE A BIT MUCH, BUT THE SONGS WERE GREAT. ALL I CAN SAY IS THANK YOU FOR THE MUSIC, ABBA.

Every time I hear the music and songs it brings back memories of seeing the Broadway Show

This is not what we wanted. The British accents throw it was off. We just saw it in NY and this is not what we were looking for.

Love this CD! It's the ABBA songs sung by the cast members of the production with bits of dialogue from the show. I saw the show in NY in November and gave CD's to several family members for Christmas as my souvenir from NY- everyone loves it! Naturally I got a CD for myself and it's the only one in my CD player for my commute.

I haven't actually seen Mamma Mia the Play, but have listened to all the songs in the CD. Hopefully will see it within the next year. You can actually enjoy the CD without seeing the Play, since it is pure and simple ABBA music. I have both Mamma Mia and the ABBA Gold CD on my i pod and enjoy hearing both of them. You can't go wrong with this one too. I didn't learn who ABBA was until I had a crossword puzzle with the Clue, Swedish Pop Group, and 4 empty spaces!!!!! Now they are one of my favorite groups. I was too busy living my life when they originally came out.

Do not buy this CD if you haven't seen the show. If you like the music of ABBA, then buy ABBA Gold or something along those lines. I have all of ABBAs greatest hits, but after seeing the show, I had to relive it through the music. The music on the CD is true to ABBA's original hits and the spirit of each song is captured nicely in true to form Broadway styling. If you had fun watching the show on Broadway, you'll enjoy reliving each moment by listening to the soundtrack.

Saw the show and just had to have the soundtrack. I was surprised by the accents, but apparently this is the only recorded soundtrack. The accents are irksome at first, but you get used to them. Otherwise, the tracks are upbeat and fun!

If you saw the show and if you love ABBA, there's nothing not to like in this CD.

I love this music and had recently been to the stage play with friends. This was a wonderful way to keep the memory of the music for myself.. AND to give another copy to our hostess as a thank you.

Having seen the show in London, I was looking forward to the CD. I did not purchase the CD at the show, and was suprised that your price was less.

I love this CD. You have to like ABBA. If you don't, don't buy it obviously. It's great to listen to even if you don't like musicals. This is another broadway soundtrack that my fellow workers don't mind me putting in the CD player while working in the kitchen. They like ABBA and hate musicals, so this is right up their alley. The story is a little hard to follow by the songs, but you can get the very basic plot from them. I think you'll like it.

The music in this musical uncannily remains faithful to ABBA music and the story line which was written to showcase the music. I saw the Las Vegas production, not the the original London production yet the music sung and played in the LV production was just as fantastic as that within the original production.
If you like ABBA,(and who does not?) and cannot spring for the price of a ticket, this DVD is the next best thing.

This is a AWESOME CD and i hope everyone will get a chance to listen to it. I LOVE this CD even though i havent seen the show. People of all ages will enjoy this CD. There is all kinds of music on this CD so if your not really in to show-tune musical music its ok because alot of the music sounds like itsn't show-tunes but some do so everyone will enjoy it.

This cd is stupid. Going to see Mama Mia is one thing. It's fun. But why the hell would you want to listen to the cast singing ABBA songs instead of just getting The Definitive Collection or ABBA GOLD? Don't waste your money on this karaoke crap. Get the real deal.

Don't know anything about this soundtrack, but I saw the play at Mandalay Bay last week, and I loved it. I really liked ABBA to begin with, but the musical was funny, and it ties so well into the songs. I would pay to see it again.

Momma Mia! is a unique musical, because it was written backwards. That's right, taking ABBA's hit songs as a basis, the writers of this musical (including Bjýrn Ulvaeus & Benny Andersson from ABBA) recast them to form the basis of a musical story.

The musical tells the story of Sophie, who wants her father to walk her down the aisle during her forthcoming wedding. However, her mother doesn't really know who her father is. And so, armed with the names of her mother's three lovers of twenty years ago, Sophie is off to find her dad!

First and foremost, I must say that the musical is fantastic, and you really should see it live. It's a great experience. But, second best is this great CD. Taking the original stage cast's recordings, it has a very nice sound, and it is very nice to hear the old ABBA classics redefined by such excellent talent. I think that this is a great CD, and I highly recommend it to everyone!

Gosh, when they named a musical like Mamma Mia, they really knew what they were talking about! One of the most upbeat musicals that made me want to dance, made my brother stand up and dance, and made the whole audience sing along. I admit, it must have been tough mixing all of ABBA's songs into a musical, so the storyline is a bit shaky, yet the unpredictable plot doesn't deter from the amazing singing that could only be ABBA. Dancing Queen, Mamma Mia, S.O.S., Super Trooper, this is basically a Greatest Hits album for ABBA! Skillfully created around the music, and skillfully performed by a great cast, this is a great soundtrack to have if you are an ABBA lover.

Muscals aren't just random pop song tied together by an awkward plot line.

A decent musical demands in fact a little more. It is a shame that good (if cheesy) ABBA songs and the genre of musical theatre bring each other down this way.

The songs are great - they just don't make a musical.

Please put an end to the embarassing trend of juke box musicals!
