[+] 10.0 Blade
This is a blade for my edger. I have not used it yet as the one that came with the product is still in good shape. I expect the blade will work as well as the one that came with the unit.

[+] 8.0 Electric corded bladed lawn edger
The HD extension cord is a nuisance, and it is a bit weak. However, it edges fairly well and avoids the problems of starting and maintaining a gas edger. I use it once a month and use a battery powered line trimmer the other 3 weeks.

[+] 10.0 Pretty Good Edger Blades
Honestly, I'm not aware of any non-B&D blades that fit the Edge Hog, but I'd be hard pressed to buy them if I did. These blades tear through everything. I'm on my second Edge Hog (had the old green and black one, now I have the orange and black one), and have been using these all along. I have a lot of edging to do: corner lot with curbs and public sidewalks set in on both sides (I have planting strips), driveway, my sidewalks, and a patio. I edge everytime I cut the grass, so about once a week in the spring, summer, and fall. One blade can last me a season and half.

[+] 10.0 Works great!
The new blade greatly improved the performance of my edger. I should have replaced it a long time ago.

[+] 10.0 Amazing Blade That Cuts Your Effort In Half
I was dubious about spending a little more for the HEAVY-DUTY blade. "Heavy-Duty" rarely lives up to its name, but in this case I was pleasantly surprised. The metal is thicker than the old blade and the teeth on the blade do make a difference. What used to take me 45 minutes to do now only takes me 15 minutes! I was a little confused by the picture as to what the silver metal pieces were for, whether they were permanently attached and part of being "heavy-duty" but they are, duh, the washers!!

[+] 10.0 Blade is good
Blade came in original packaging. Haven't installed on edger yet. Should be no problem. Delivery was excellent.

[+] 2.0 Wrong picture
The hole pattern on the picture that is shown does not match the pattern on the item that was shipped. The item that shipped has three circular holes.

[+] 8.0 Black & Decker Edge Hog Blade
I'm very satisfied. My purchase arrived ahead of schedule, and installed very easily - 5 minutes. It wasn't keyed exactly the same, but if the blade is tight it works just fine - no problems!!

[+] 10.0 I think you might be missing the point
TO: Reviewer: S. Carmona (Manhattan Beach CA) and OTHERS...

I could be wrong but I suspect I have the same EDGE HOG edger as you guys. Just put the washer ON, then the BLADE, then the washer, and TIGHTEN.

I know that the blade would have a tendency to SLIP, but only if it encounters INCREDIBLE RESISTANCE - in which case you would WANT it to slip. I originally thought this was the wrong blade, but after thinking about it, I realized that it actually is a good design.

If you hit something that might bind up the blade, the motor will NOT burn up, but some slippage might occur. If that happens with me, I just remember to tighten the blade when I am done. Actually I tighten it before use ANYWAY - it is usually NOT LOOSE at all though.

It is an amazing edger, with CLEAN EDGES on sidewalks, etc.
For me the blades are working GREAT with the same edger you all have. I am not trying to be snotty or anything, just saying that even though it looks like the wrong blade when you first look at it, it funtions "safely" and does a great job.

They always tend to wear down, that is my only complaint, but that is minor. They are worth it.

Again, you might think by looking at it that there is NO WAY it would work since the hole is not the same, and you might think it would NOT SPIN or CUT (EDGE) anything, but it does work great.

If you have any questions, I would be glad to answer them (here). If you suspect we have different edgers (I think not), I can post some photos of installing the blade on mine. Again, I am just trying to be helpful - not trying to start a "war". :-)

Good Luck,
Greg

[+] 2.0 Not what it appears to be
The picture shown for the part is not accurate. The part you sent me has a round hole for mounting in the center. The picture shows one that is 'saturn' shaped, like the one that is on my edger. So, I have purchased a part that I cannot use.

[+] 10.0 Just as pictured
They may have had problems in the past but Amazon is delivering the replacement blade the photo shows. It is hardened steel. I ordered the blade as a backup when I purchased my edger. I used the Black and Decker edger my father owned on the numerous lawns I cut as a kid. The edger lasted over 25 years and was given away to friends when Mom and Dad moved into a condo. It still had the origional blade on it.
I've got a hint for those other reviewers who seem to go through blades. All those sparks you are seeing demonstrate that you are not properly aligned. Take your time, don't rush, you'll get a quality job and you'll save your blades.

[+] 2.0 Misleading photo of product
The product you show for this item is not the one I received...twice. I sent the first order back, and while Amazon processed the return in a timely manner, when I received the replacement it was still the wrong item. If the correct item is not available any more, it should not be advertised. The problem is with the hole in the center of the blade. The one advertised is oblong, but the one shipped is round. To correct the problem, B&D suggests removing the shaped washer to allow use of the blade with the round hole. This is not good support of a product. It is inconsistent with the original design and could cause injury due to a loosening of the blade during use. If the correct blade is still available, I would buy it. But I do not recommend using an incorrect part and modifying the equipment in order to use it.

[+] 10.0 Works Great
When I first started looking for a replacement blade for my Black & Decker Edgehog, I soon found it was easier said than done. I went ahead and ordered the replacement blade from Amazon, and I have been pleased. It works as well as ever.

[+] 8.0 Wrong blade?? Different holes --
I ended up having the same problem as the other reviewer had with the odd shaped shaft not fitting the round hole of the blade. Spoke with a salesman at a Black and Decker store and recommended using a screwdriver to knock off the piece that is odd shaped(takes a little time) but slides off fairly easily. Use the enclosed washers with the blade (one on each side) and it should work just fine without slipping... Good luck..
