I bought this as a gold-box deal for the mini-mouse. The mouse itself is a good compact little travel mouse. The rest of the package is kind of junk. Cables work, but there are a lot of odd adapters and a lack of some obvious ones. You can probably make it work by chaining some of the adapters but it just feels poorly thought out.

Maybe a great product, but useless
I shouldn't have bought it. Everything is wireless, no need for additional cables. Still has the product unopened.

good deal for $12
This kit was a good deal at the $12 sale price, but the $40 retail price is pretty silly. I don't use all the pieces, but I do use enough of them to make the $12 price a good deal. The pieces are not great quality, but better than I expected for $12.

One of my best buys on Amazon
Wow. This little bundle of cables is amazing. I bought it on a whim and now I can't live without it. I had just bought a netbook and there is the perfect size mouse included in this kit. Great buy.

Full of every possible cable you will need
Got this on a Gold Box special. It has an incredible array of any sort of computer cable/accessory you might need. They appear well made and well packaged. The pouch is a great place to store them. I bought an extra as a gift.
You get tons of cables and accessories in this kit. It is housed in a nice zippered carrying case that opens like a book. Each accessory is fitted its own niche, customized hole in sturdy black foam. Looks impressive except the foam is too hard and too tight fitting that removing any of the accessory proved to be too challenging. You will need to be careful or you might accidentally break some of the more delicate items such as the earphones and the mouse.
The quality of these kit are on the flimsy side. The mouse is too small even for a laptop. Its button wheel functions and works as good as my regular mouse, but the clicks are unpleasantly loud. The earphones has a microphone but the wires are just too thin. Actually, the smallest gauge I have seen used on a pair of earphones by far. Some of the cables has a retractable cord spool, I like those as it minimize the clutter. Considering the number of accessories that you get with this kit, for an average consumer, it is more likely that you will only use less than half of this kit.
Kit includes:
- 3ft stereo retractable earphone and microphone
- 3.5ft retractable USB A/Male to USB A/Female cable
- 4ft retractable USB A/Male to USB A/Male cable
- 3ft retractable FireWire 1394a 6-Pin/Male to 6-Pin/Male cable
- 3ft RJ11 retractable cable
- USB A/Male to USB A/Male connector
- USB A/Male to USB B/Male connector
- USB A/Male to USB 4-Pin Mini B/Male connector
- USB A/Male to USB 5-Pin Mini B/Male connector
- FireWire 6-Pin/Female to 4-Pin/Male connector
- 2x RJ45 to USB A/Female connectors
- 2x RJ11 to USB A/Female connectors
- RJ45 crossover connector
- 4-port USB hub
- Mini retractable USB optical mouse

A traveling man's best friend
First, I admit I'm a little bit of a techo-weenie gear head. I also travel extensively. I have had a kit similar to this for several years and it has bailed me out over and over again. When I saw this kit in the gold box deals I knew it was time to supplement or retire the old one. I've only had it a few days now but so far I can tell you the case is well built and solid and the cables and adapters are well made. I expect to use it for many years to come. This kit will easily replace a whole bag of assorted cables that I would otherwise have to carry when traveling.

Bigger than it looks
The actual zipped container is bigger (thicker) than it looks.
It contains almost every conceivable combination of cabling that you will need for USB, fire-wire and Ethernet.
The components can be a bit tricky to remove, due to the tight fit into the stiff foam cut-outs, but then when they are in place the components are not going to rattle around.
I did have an issue with the IEEE1394 6F-4M connector. It does not appear to work.
Do not loose the single sheet, double sided instructions; they list the correct combination of cables and connectors.
Got the product in a gold box deal for less that $12, so it really is excellent value at that price.
The USB hub is similar to a triplite (which I also have) and it does accept an external 5V power pack (not included), so it is a power USB hub in fact.

Tons of cables; a little cheaply made
I have ended up using this product a lot, much more than I thought I would. It has a cable for pretty much everything. I can even have a spare printer cable just in case. This kit also comes with a mouse -- when my main mouse broke, I had this little guy and was able to use my computer until I got a new one. The USB hub is nice, but the ports do seem a little slower since it is self-powered.
It is just a little cheaply made. When I was snapping a cable back into place, the whole contraption that makes it retract broke. It took about 15 minutes to fix and it still doesn't retract as well as before.
Even though it may not be the best made product out there, it does work and it works nicely. You'll get much more use out of this than you think.

A GREAT Buy - Use it more than expected!
This little thing has saved us a small fortune in both time and money. Originally tried it because a keyboard adaptor was going to cost over $50...well, this didn't work for that situation BUT, it has worked for several other similar situations. Perfect for traveling or to keep on hand for those odd replacements you need now and then. Will buy a 2nd one once it goes back on sale - great set, nice packaging and you will use more often than you might think!
What an awesome product!! this little kit has everything I'm ever going to need while traveling with my laptop. Especially like the little mini USB hub!

No need to hunt for loose cables again !
I keep a drawer-ful of various computer cables for all kinds of projects. Having this cable kit eliminates a good portion of the cables I'd need on my table or near a work area. The case is very small and lightweight so it can be easily stored or carried anywhere at a moment's notice. I'd highly recommend this kit to technical support personnel who needs to travel to job locations on the go. Or if you have travel with a laptop and don't like carrying a whole slew of cables in the laptop bag.

Great idea for the traveler
This set of cables for all uses is a great idea for the user who spends a lot of time on the road and has to be able to deal with interfacing just about anything to a laptop. If that describes you, you'll find that this set is a "must have" item, rather than dealing with the spaghetti of different cables in your travel case.
I just happened across these Cables To Go while looking for another item, and I'm really glad I did. All the cables come in a neat denim like, zipper case, and the cables each have their own cut out shape in heavy foam. When you travel with them, you don't have to worry about everything being all mixed up when you need to use one of them.
I am very happy with this purchase and I would definitely recommend it. The shipping process was extrememly fast, and I will order from this store again.
Not sure whether I'll every use some of the adapters, but overall the package is quality and compact. Great value.

Excellent addition to your travel kit
True story: I was a passenger in a car on a lengthy expressway trip zipping along at . . . well, it wasn't 55. I was trying to work on a deadline project using my laptop and absolutely, positively needed to get online to fetch some information from the web. No problem thought I: I'll use my cell phone as a modem. I reached into my travel bag for my cell phone's USB cable and - yep, I had left it at home. (Bluetooth wasn't working.)
For a moment I sort of panicked, thinking we would have to take time to connect at a truck stop. Then I remembered this handy little kit was tucked away in my bag.
A few seconds later, I had put the needed cable together and was online.
There are many kits like this on the market. I suspect that there are only one, two or a very few companies that make the fittings and they assemble the kits to the specificationas of their customers like Cables To Go, Belkin and others.
This Cables To Go kit is more fully featured than any other I've seen so far. It not only has every relatively common USB connector, it also has 6-pin and 4-pin Firewire connectors, an RJ-11 (telephone jack) cable, another for RJ-45 (CAT5 network), a mouse suitable for short-term use, a 4-port USB hub and a surpisingly useful RJ-45 crossover cable (which can come in very handy when you need to move massive amounts of data from one computer to another).
Overall, this is a great value. It is not something that you're likely to use every day, but, let's say, when you're zipping down the highway and absolutely, positively need to hook up with your cell phone to get online and realize you forgot your specialty cable, you'll appreciate having this kit on hand.

This works really well if you travel or have a notebook you use at work and at home. It has everything. It is a great buy -- my husband is thrilled with it.

Great organization
This is one of those products that I wish I could have bought much sooner. it has a wide variety of different cable needs for my laptop and the best part is that it is all neatly arranged in one place for me to refer to. As a heavy notebook and travel computing user, I was constantly plagued with clutter in my computer bag, and having great difficulty finding anything among the dozens of pockets. With this kit, all of my cabling needs are in one place, that I can quickly get too, and no more fumbling.
I just received the kit. It comes in a nice case. The mouse is nice. The hub works. I haven't tried out the rest. However, there is a little note inside with comments on the various gizmos which appear to mean if you use a few of them, you will blow your computer up or something negative. Strange.
Also there is supposed to be earplugs and a microphone. Well, the earplugs work, but I don't see or hear any microphone. The cords seem to be a bit short too.
So I guess it is a mixed bag. However, I surfed around before I bought this and other sites are charging a lot more for it.
I picked this up and was able to clear out a lot of clutter from my backpack. I travel often to customer sites and being able to mix and match connectors is very convenient. Being able to make console and crossover cables can be a life saver.
I'll give it 5 stars despite the mouse. Don't get me wrong, it works great. It's an optical wheel mouse and while small works great. My only objection is that the mouse buttons make too lous of a noise when you click them. Almost like a kids toy.

Impressive and handy
I am quite happy with this little gem. All items seem of good quality and are securely nested in specific places that are cut to the size and shape of each item. Very professional appearance. The quality seems very good and the zippered case is an added plus.
Many of the cables have retractable cable holders eliminating excessive lengths of cords hanging off the table when using my notebook in a non desk environment like a coffe shop or hotel room. A friend in IT at work saw mine and had to know where I got it from. Amazon followed through with great shipping on time and as promised.
