[+] 10.0 Where have I been lately?
I guess I have totally been lost in this world. First I was way behind on cd collecting, forgot The Motels altogether and Michael Buble is fantastic. I have been hearing someone perform Michaels song Everything and Im hooked, fascinated to collect everything by him as a recording artist without trying to hear more of his music. Im finding myself in days and months to come and adding another chapter in my book of my life, Im moving on and going forward, not backwards. Doing it with The Motels and Michael. I want Everything.

[+] 10.0 1000% fantastic.
From top to bottom, this is a great CD. Every track Michael does it perfect.
I have yet to see him in concert, but should I get the chance I will. Probably one of the greatest singers (now) of our time.
He has taken off where Frank Sinatra left off.
1. "The Best Is Yet to Come" (3:05) - (Cy Coleman/Carolyn Leigh) - One of Tony Bennett's all time greatest hits and Michael does it proud.

2. "It Had Better Be Tonight" (Meglio Stasera) (3:06) - (Mancini/Mercer/Migliacci) - Henry Mancini's catchy tune from "The Pink Panther", with a cool David Foster arrangement.

3. "Me and Mrs. Jones (4:33) - (Huff/Gamble/Gilbert) - Buble has a good thing going with this track

4. "I'm Your Man" (4:59) - (Leonard Cohen) - The beast won't go to sleep, has Buble bringing it home

5. "Comin' Home Baby" (3:27) - (Dorough/Tucker) - Buble shares the stage with Boyz II Men, with a Mel Torme classic tune

6. "Lost" (3:40) - (Buble/Arden/Chang) - An original song with a relationship that Buble puts behind him with this heartfelt lyrical masterpiece

7. "Call Me Irresponsible" (3:16) - (Cahn/Van Heusen) - Big hit for Jack Jones but move over, Buble is taking this one on and filling those big shoes nicely

8. "Wonderful Tonight" (4:12) - (Eric Clapton) - (duet with Ivan Lins) - And then she asks Buble and Lins, Do I look alright ... they reply we feel wonderful cause we see the love light in your eyes

9. "Everything" (3:33) - (Buble/Change/Amy Foster Gilles) - a Buble original sets this album apart from the rest, youe every song, and I sing along cause you're my everything

10. "I've Got the World on a String" (2:47) - (Arlen/Koehler) - Lifes a wonderful thing as long as I hold that string

11. "Always on My Mind" (4:30) - (James/Thompson/Christopher) - Girl I'm so sorry I was blind, you were always on my mind

12. "That's Life" (4:15) - (Gordon/Thompson) - Many times I thought of cutting out, but my heart won't buy it

13. "Dream" (5:05) - (Johnny Mercer) - Doesn't get any better with one of my all time favorite songwriters and his classic 1944 tune, with the best arranger on the planet Johnny Mandel

[+] 10.0 Michael Buble's Incredible Musicality
It's been a long time that someone has all the elements of greatness when it comes to a male singer. Michael has these elements in spades. A lovely voice with a full range, incredible control and phrasing, and that special building of anticipation that the greats have, fill this musical collection of older and more modern music. The musicians are also wonderful and conducted superbly well.

[+] 8.0 Always On My Mind - A good musical lesson I received gratefully
I just like to comment on one track - "You Were Always On My Mind"! Yes! This track has been on my mind when I first took this album home months ago. Again, when Buble was on tour in Sydney last month - the arrangement and delivery of this number LIVE (!) was - Intimate yet level-headed, Tender yet Passionate, Flawless and yet vulnerable. It presses my first tear-duct button during the concert :)

I was absolutely indifferent, if not dislikening, the original version of this song, which was a country ballad (doesn't press any of my buttons). Then Pet Shop Boys made it worst with a high-camp techno-disco treatment to it in the late 80's. I saw disco mirror balls spinning, boys (!) on the dance floor; more lust than intimacy and heart felt romance. NEXT!

I believe I've learned a few muscial lessons from this track from Foster's confidently low-key arrangement and treatment of the song, and Buble's vocal delivery. (1) "Less is more" sometimes - The piano introduction, soft with a few notes in the higher registers sets the landscape of this romantic ballad. The slow strings, luxuriously warm double-bass, and the brush-drum kit made this a perfectly intimate encounter. (2) "Don't Rush, Tell the Story with you Heart" - I never get the stories and message of this song from the oringal and Pet Shop Boys' cover until this arrangement. Buble takes his time, word by word, phrase by phrase, telling the story. That IS the right tempo, the right heartbeat, when you are telling your love one that you really love him/her! (3) "Vocally articulate the story line with texture and feel" - There is no need to yell, no vocal acrobatic of vibratos. Michael's voice is full of texture and shades, tenderly, restfully, regretfully....

Best version of this song I've ever heard. Could be the last version.

[+] 10.0 I'll call you great
Michael Bublé's new album can be played on a loop for hours. His voice has such control and a wonderful tone, there's hardly any song he can't sing. My personal favorites have to be his original hits, "Lost" and "Everything," since they have a nice updated sound. For a fast-paced salsa, go with "It Had Better Be Tonight (Meglio Stasera)." The jazz song, "I'm Your Man" is so passionate, and all his others are right up there as well. Buy this album, it's timeless.

[+] 10.0 Michael Buble "Call Me Irresponsible"
This is an amazing selection of "oldies" sung in the inimitable style of Michael Buble. He revives an old Frank Sinatra song ("The Best is Yet To Come") making it his own. His rendition of "Call Me Irresponsible" is irrepressible and wonderful. His voice is so smooth it could be termed "vocal silk." This young Canadian singer is talent at it's very best and worth many hours of relaxing, beautiful music.

[+] 10.0 Reminds Me of Harry Connick Jr.
I love this music/sound: the old school jazz/motown/swing. I love it! He reminds me of Harry Connick Jr. because he remakes the songs of the "older" generation. He does a great job and this CD is really good. I love the song, "Everything" because it's an original but also because it makes me feel good. The covers he does are good too...so I highly recommend this CD.

[+] 4.0 Michael Buble's "Call me Irresponsible"
I am a rock music fan, but I thought I'd give this Michael Buble cd a chance. I enjoyed "Everything" and "Lost", two songs which were not covers. His cover of Eric Clapton's, "Wonderful Tonight" was not my cup of tea. If I could give Michael Buble a piece of advice, it would be for him to release of cd of his own original music.

[+] 8.0 The best is yet to come... I believe you, Michael!
Michael Buble's first two albums introduced us to him and his genre... he brought swing back, at least to many of us for whom swing was the stuff of decades ago. With this album he expressed his desire to make it different and yet something he'd be proud to give his listeners, and I think he has succeeded. Call Me Irresponsible sees Buble putting his own spin on old classics and ballads, and adding a few of his own compositions.
For those who've become accustomed to the sound of his first two albums and are doubtful of hearing something new, as I was, listen to this with an open mind. With bossa nova, acapella, Latin flavours, R&B and even a gospel choir in the mix, this album is innovative and diverse, yet still very much the Michael we've come to love, and more definitive of his direction as an artist. With focus and versatility like that, it's not hard to believe that for Buble, the best is yet to come.

Okay Michael, your irresponsible, that was to easy and this CD is sooooo bad, nothing new here or to hear. Me and Misses Jones, oh plezzzz, It Had Better Be Tonight was better in A Shot in the Dark. Such a great singer singing trite, boring, and weird material.

[+] 10.0 Michael sells his songs without even trying--he's THAT good !!!
Call Me Irresponsible was bound to hit the charts when Michael Bublé released this fine album. Michael's work is outstanding and he easily can match any crooner of the entire twentieth century! The sound quality is excellent and I love that artwork, too!

The album starts with Michael singing "The Best Is Yet To Come;" this number sounds fresh with its big band style arrangement and Michael never sings a superfluous note! Michael's voice is in excellent form and the music complements his vocals perfectly. "It Had Better Be Tonight" has a Latin flavor that works wonders for this ballad; and the brass helps the melody along, too. Michael sings this love song with energy and enthusiasm and this truly amazes me! It's a very strong number that Michael easily aces.

"Me And Mrs. Jones" is a fine cover by Michael Bublé who sings this passionately with all his heart and soul. His voice is smoother than silk and you'll want to slow dance with your sweetheart to this tune. "Comin' Home Baby" is a fine duet between Michael and Boyz II Men; they harmonize and sing this number wonderfully! The piano arrangement really shines and this number is easily a major highlight of this CD.

"Call Me Irresponsible," the title track of this album, places Michael front and center--and he sings this marvelously. The musical arrangement makes good use of the brass and it all works very well. "Everything" is yet another fine tune that Michael Bublé sings to perfection, listen for "Everything;" it's a beautiful ballad.

"I've Got The World On A String," a Harold Arlen number, sounds fresh and new--Arlen would be proud! The backup vocalists do a great job and I really like "I've Got The World On A String." This number benefits from a fine, brassy musical arrangement. "That's Life," a number Frank Sinatra liked to sing, has Michael singing this very well; and it's just as enjoyable as when Frank sang it. The background vocalists are OK; but Michael didn't really need them for this number. I think "That's Life" would have sounded even better without the background chorus.

The album ends with Michael Bublé performing "Dream." "Dream" is a classic pop tune that Michael does with heart and soul every step of the way. "Dream" gets a solid treatment from Michael and it makes a good ending for this album.

Michael Bublé fans will, naturally, want this in their collections. Fans of classic pop vocals will also find a lot to like on this album.

[+] 10.0 Give me a break, it's Buble!...
Go buy it! Perfect song selection, perfect arrangements, perfect CD... No downside here, like "Cuando, Cuando, Cuando", etc. "Mrs. Jones"? Flawless. "Call Me Irresponsible"? Excellent. Never sinks to kitsch, great accompaniment, excellent production values by producer David Foster... to not buy this CD would be criminal. And see him live at your earliest opportunity - the closest thing to a modern day Rat Pack performance.

[+] 10.0 Bubbly for Buble
This CD is non-stop hit after hit. I first heard his single "Everything" and decided to check the rest of the CD. I am not sorry. He kills on "Mrs. Jones". There have been a lot of kids trying to challenge Harry Connick Jr. and have failed. Michael is qualified. It would be great if these two artist were to collaborate on something.

[+] 8.0 21st Century crooner
Buble chooses the very classic love songs familiar to the baby boomer generation. He does a terrific job with them, the interpretation and color he imparts makes you believe he understands the intent of the song writer of so long ago. Recommended to Sinatra groupies.

[+] 2.0 Why does this album "thtink" so badly?
I've been a Michael Buble fan for a while. Although I love his music, the lisp on this album is so distracting that I can't enjoy his great voice. I've seen him interviewed, and he doesn't seem to lisp when he speaks. If it's a real problem, I'm afraid it will be an awful end to a promising career. If intentional, call it irrethponthible (and insulting to the innocent buyers of this album). If I consider buying his future albums, I'll preview them first. Do yourself a favor and listen to this one before you buy.

[+] 10.0 Top of the Line
Michael Buble is the leader of the pack when it comes to vocals. His rich warm voice, his appropriate choice of songs to sing! You can't ask for more. Unless you're asking for more of him singing, that is!

[+] 8.0 Another great one from Buble!
Michael Buble has an amazing voice. This cd, his third full album is another great mix of classics and newer stuff. The single "Everything" is enough reason by itself to get the cd. There is something about that song that is pure joy. I love listening to it, and singing along with it. The classic Willy Nelson and Eric Clapton covers are lovely ballads. What a voice!
