The Rebel K2 incorporates many of the most sought after attributes of the market leading Rebel Ti model including Canon's premier 7-point wide area AF system, lightning-fast shutter speeds up to 1/2000 of a second, and 35-zone AF-linked evaluative metering that optimizes exposure accuracy. Compact and feature-packed, the Rebel K2 is a stylish, ergonomically streamlined, lightweight camera that yields heavyweight results. Weighing in at a mere 12 ounces, the new K2 is extremely compact and light, with advanced ergonomic design that makes single-handed operation a snap. A step-up from (and a step quicker than) Canon's entry level EOS Rebel GII, the EOS Rebel K2 features fast autofocus and film advance permitting users to shoot at 1.5 frames per second, 50 percent faster than the GII. Tracking and keeping moving subjects in focus is a breeze thanks to the Rebel K2's AI Servo AF mode and seven point selectable autofocus system (with focusing points superimposed on Canon's glareless new laser matte focusing screen). Users can also opt for manual focusing point selection by simply pressing the Focusing Point Selector and rotating the main dial until the preferred focus point is indicated below the picture area in the viewfinder data display, or on the large, easy-to-read LCD data panel on the back of the camera. [+] 10.0 Amazing Camera
I have been using this camera for a high school photography class, and it is definitely well worth the price. The lens it comes with is great. The camera is extremely user friendly. Though it is plastic, it feels very durable, and has survived 2 drops (USE YOUR STRAP NO MATTER WHAT! :P) without a mark. I feel I will be using this camera for a long time to come.

Side note: the lens can be used with any canon cameras that support it, including digitals!

[+] 10.0 Canon EOS REBEL K2 35mm SLR Camera
I was looking for a film 35mm SLR and found this one on Amazon, I love it, I have the Canon Rebel XT and wanted a Canon SLR. I love how the film automatically advances the film and displays how much film you have left, and the speed of the film. I also like this camera because you can set it to AV/TV/M and play with the apertures, and shutter speed, and if you don't want to use these features you can set it to the basic zones where everything is automatic. I am still getting used to the settings but my pictures so far have developed very nicely.

[+] 10.0 excellent camera for quick, clear pictures
We went back and forth between a film and digital camera. We decided on the Canon Rebel Date Camera due to the quickness of the shutter since we have small children. I did not want the delay a digital camera has and did not have the money to spend for a quick shutter digital camera. Our pictures come out crystal clear and we get all kinds of rave reviews on the pictures we do take with our camera. This is the 2nd camera that we have bought that is Canon and have nothing but good things to say about them. I do wish they came with a camera bag - but we can buy that separately.

[+] 2.0 Trying to purchase a camera on-line sucks!!!!!!!!!!!
This is our 2nd order for the same type of camera and we still don;t have it!!! 1st order in early September had to be refunded because the seller never shipped the camera, his email addressess were invalidated and we never heard from him again! Now our 2nd attempt thru a different seller is also questionnable as it;s been a few days and still the item has not even been shipped out. If we don't receive the camera by friday, we'll have to go out and buy one at a shop. I am done with ordering equipment thru the internet! What a waste of time and this is for my;s son's photography class!

[+] 10.0 Lightweight esay to use cmaera loaded with options
The Canon EOS Rebel K2 SLR, with the 28-90 zoom lens is a good buy. Camera stores in my area (NW Arkansas) can't even come close to the price I paid for a new camera. It's light, easy to carry and it has an automatic point and click feature that makes this amateir look better than he is.

[+] 2.0 Cheaply Made. Huge Disappointment.
This camera is cheap. It even feels cheap. The first time we loaded film, it jammed and has never worked since. I have for years bought only Canon products which is why I purchased this replacement for an older Canon Rebel (which I loved) that had dropped and broke. Now I'm so turned off by this poorly manufactured Canon product that I'm looking to replace all of my lenses so that I can find a system that's better made.

[+] 10.0 Wonderful
I had been looking at 35mm cameras for months trying to decide. I had originally decided on an Olympus IS-50, but then found this wonderful contraption and went with it instead. I could not be happier, I have taken many pictures and the only way they could be better is if I were a better photographer. This camera is wonderful, and I'm very very happy with it's performance. The only down side is that some of the controls and settings are a bit over my head but that will all change with time and research on photography. Wonderul product! Worth every cent.

[+] 10.0 Great Value!
My wife and I were concerned about losing memories on a digital camera (how many have you taken, but never printed out?) and wanted a solid 35MM and we definately found it in the Rebel!

Takes great pics and easy to use!

[+] 8.0 Good entry-level camera
I recently purchased this camera when my venerable Nikormat EL-W developed shutter timing issues during my Photo 1 class.

This camera reasonably priced has preformed flawlessly thus far. I have shot multiple rolls of Ilford HP5 plus film through this camera and have yet to have an exposure not come out due to the camera. After reading the manual I was able to easily understand the different modes and how to change the user controlled settings. The on camera flash leaves a little to be desired as it rather harsh and its range is somewhat limited, an accessory flash will overcome this and there are other flashes that will operate with this camera not just Canon.

I have not had the opportunity of shooting color film through this camera yet when I do I will update this review.

The only thing I dislike about this camera is that there is no provision for a remote shutter release. The Rebel K2 with date is the only version of this camera that can use a remote shutter release, why Canon removed this feature from this model is unknown a remote release is very handy when photographing nature or when used with the timer for self portraits.

If you have any plans for infrared photography do not buy a EOS Canon, the Frame counter uses an infrared sensor that will cause fogging on your infrared film

I bought this a year ago and have taken many great pictures with it. It's light, has many features and can be used as an automatic when all you want to do is point and click. I can't recommend it enough.

I am very pleased with this camera. I especially like the light meter that tells you how many apertures you are away from the correct exposure. I am using this for my photo class and is easy to use.

[+] 10.0 Cool Camera
The photos are exceptional. It was very easy to learn how to use the features. I have taken some great photos with it, much better than my digital. I have not encountered any problems. I took it on a long (over a month) trip where it was subjected to rough treatment and extreme weather. It came through with flying colors. Rock solid.

[+] 10.0 Buena relacion precio-valor

[+] 10.0 A great camera
This is the new version of the EOS Rebel 2000 (they called it "K2" instead of "2K", I suppose in order to avoid giving the impression that the camera is 4 years out of date, which it is not).

It is simply a great camera at a great price. It works as well as any 35mm camera on the market, has a reasonably fast winder, and best of all it takes all of the huge variety of EF Canon lenses. It is actually very light, so you can carry it around without fatigue, or you can bulk it up by adding the extended grip (which gives it a very nice feel).

The zoom lenses are a little slow. I recommend that you get the body only, and start with the 50mm f/2.8 MKII lens, which is a steal at about $70. Together, they make an outstanding, affordable, high-quality package for those of us who still love film more than digital.
