Case Logic Compact Portable Hard Drive Case (Black)

If you`re thinking to buy a Toshiba Small External Drive (mine 320 Gigas), this case fits very well.

I purchased this case for the Iomega eGo Mac Edition 250 GB USB 2.0/FireWire 400/800 Portable External Hard Drive 34648 (Alpine White) because it came recommended from Amazon and I checked the pictures and saw that the eGo fit perfectly. HOWEVER, the 250 gb is slightly too large for the case. It does not fit inside the inner lining but the zipper will close around it (which is why I chose it wasn't worth returning) The case is extremely durable and portable. My eGo came with 3 wires, two of them fit in the case, the third I don't really need to carry with me anyway. Great case, just beware that not ALL eGo's fit as well as you'd think!

Purchased this for my Seagate FreeAgent Go 500. Fits perfect. Good quality construction. There is also room for a second drive on the other side of the case. Would definitely purchase again.

This case perfectly fit my Seagate Freeagent 500gb hard drive. It fit snugly, and doesn't wiggle around. The other side of the inside of the case has enough room to hold other things, like the usb cable. I can even fit my wallet and keys in there if I organise it right. The exterior seems rugged, and its pretty hard, but with enough pressure, it will bend in the middle. It's very strong on the corners. I wouldn't recommend dropping your hard drive, but this is plenty of protection if you are just tossing it into a backpack.

This case is great. My Passport by Western Digital fits in it with room to spare. There is a stretchy strap to hold it in place, it is easy to get in and out, and there is a mesh pocket on the other side to hold the usb cord and extra jump drives. I throw it in my bag and carry it with me all the time. It is hard and durable, and a great little case.

This is my second Case-Logic case for a portable hard drive, (original case is 1-1/2 years old and shows no wear). This PHDC-1 case fits the Seagate 1TB Go Portable drive like a glove. The sizes are misleading on the various sites. The PHDC-1 inside dims are: 3.5 wide X 5.25 long X 1.5 thick. Like another reviewed stated, it's a bit snug on the width, but no worries.

This is my second HDD case that I for from the same brand and same model. It is sturdy and small. It has a nice net in it for your cable's and a rubber band for the HDD.

My WD Passport fits perfectly into this case and it also houses a bunch of my short USB cords. The case's shell is tough enough to protect your hard drive from shocks, drops, and water. However, I also want to point out the case's exterior--which is soft and has smooth corners so it won't damage any other items your bag may contain. Lastly, the color is exactly as it appears in the image.

This case was linked with the Iomega EGo 1 TB hard drive. This case is about a third the size of the hard drive. I contacted the supplier who asked if I wanted to return it. I replied I wanted the one for the EGo, but have not heard from them again. It would be nice for a smaller hard drive, but not for the one it was linked with and sold as a set.

well padded and it is not much larger than the hard drive, which is desirable because the convenience of the hard drive in terms of size is not lost.
As posted in the title: it is convenient and safe.

The issue was not the case, it is fine. Amazon.com paired it with the Hitachi Simple Tough portable hard drive but it does not fit! It seems Amazon justs put things it wants to dump with other products without checking to make sure they work.

I have 2 LaCie portable hard drives and one Western Digital My Passport Elite hard drive and the three of them fit perfectly this case. I have no complaints at all since it does what it is intended to do, protect the hard drives. I have take it with me through airports and long travels, and this case has done the work plus it is still looking like new!

It does the job, its a hard case and it also has a velco starp on the inside that holds the drive in place. not to big not to small, does the trick.

I bought this case and also a Iomega E-Go external HD, that in the page, showed that most people used to buy them together. The thing is, it doesnt fit at all! I'm really not using it because the HD side is more than double of the case.
But for the real purpose, to use in the fitted sized external HD, its a great product, excelent quality.

I like the way my portable hard drive is held snugly in place with an inch wide elastic band. There is also a netted pocket to hold the USB cord. The zipper operates smoothly and the sides of the case are hard. I would buy this case again.

The thing is very good, just that it fits 2 hard drives so it's a bit wider than necessary to just host 1.

It works just fine for a smaller external hard drive -- a Western Digital. It's too small for a LaCie external hard drive.

This case is great for the Seagate Freeagent Go which is a "compact" portable hard drive. I have both a Freeagent Go and another portable hard drive but evidently my other portable hard drive is slightly bigger and does not fit in this "compact" case. I just want to make sure people buy the right case for the size of their portable hard drive.

Very well made. Worth the money. I haven't had the chance to use it in tranportation of my drive yet-but I am sure it will protect the drive quite adequitely.

I bought this case with Toshiba HD and it fits perfectly well! In some reviews I read that the case is big for the HD, but I put the HD on one side and the USB cord on the other- so, it is just perfect. Besides, there is a rubber band to fix the HD for those who don't want to have a cord in the same case (although, how to use it then?). It is nice size, comfortable to carry in a handbag. I would recommend that you buy it with an HD.

I purchased a Seagate Free Agent portable hard disk. So I searched Internet for a case. I ended up with this one. I placed an order on Amazon and got it quick soon. And I am very satisfied. It is a pretty sturdy case. You could put two portable disks in it. But I put one disk and its cable on the other side. Very nice!

The case is smaller than the listed measurements.

I bought this case along with a Samsung S2 portable hard drive. The Samsung S2 fits the case very well as long as you keep the drive in the thin leather case it comes with. If you skip the leather case the Case Logic case is slightly too big for the drive, although the elastic band of the case is tight enough to keep it in place.

The case seems to be of high quality and quite sturdy and should offer a good enough protection for most situations. The elastic band holding the drive in place even when the case is open is actually very useful as you do not need to worry what way the drive is facing when opening the case.

With a little tighter fit and softer interior this case would have been perfect.

I purchased the 500gb toshiba hard drive, and it fits this case PERFECTLY. I love that the case has an elastic band instead of a velcro closure to hold the drive in place. The elastic holds the drive securely and it doesn't slide at all. There is a mesh pocket on the opposite side with enough room to hold the usb cord. My favorite part of the case is that it is actually HARD! I tested a few cases at an electronics store and most of them were soft enough to be easily crushed. This one is not.

I am storing my Western Digital portable hard drive (and cord) in this and so far, so good! It fits perfect and I can rest assured knowing it is safe and sound in this hard case.

This is a very well made case, both outside and in....however I bought it because it was said to be frequently bought with the external harddrive I also purchased at the same time...i just assumed that it was the right size sine it said they were purchased together...well when i got it the case was not even close to being big enough...so the moral of the story kids is to make sure you check all dimensions regardless of what the site recommended!!!

This product is perfect for carrying my Toshiba portable hard drive. The case is not only attractive and sturdy with a firm, protective inner structure; it is also prefectly fitted inside with a wide elastic band and mesh pocket for securing the drive and the cord. The unique appearance of the case makes it easy to locate in my briefcase or on my computer table. Case Logic scores another home run!

I bought this because it was a universal & a hard case. It has a lot of room. I would like a snugger fit but I just put it in a travel case that came with the Seagate docking station which makes a better fit in the case. If it didn't cost to send it back I would have sent it back & got a Seagate case that is made for my product. I would suggest buying from the maker of your hard drive. They do have lost of choices as I had did some research this was just the cheaper method so I guess you get what you pay for.

Amazon pairs this with the LaCie Rugged as a "frequently bought together" deal, but the case is too small. While you can force the zipper to enclose around it, it does not sit completely inside the inner shell -- part of the unit hangs over the lip. And because of the LaCie's thickness, there is not enough room to store the cables inside the case. I wish I had known this before purchasing.

I should have bought this a long time ago... Other than the intended use, I finally have a place to store my flash drives that I keep losing...

I have one of the newer Seagate FreeAgent Go 500GB portable hard drives, and while there is wiggle room in the case (about 1/2 inch all the way around), I'm not worried. The case is very well made. The drive is held in by a wide elastic strap, and the other side has a mesh pouch that is perfect for the drive's USB cable. I also keep my spare thumb drives in the pouch.

The only improvement I could suggest would be an adjustable strap that could hold the drive more snugly. Other than that, it's a great case. Small enough to be unobtrusive in your bag, but big enough to hold everything you need.

I purchased this case to store my Seagate Passport back up drive in. It fits like a glove, like it was made for it. It is even better quality than I could have imagined. It is a semi-rigid zipper case that should protect if something like a book falls on it or you drop it. It would probably work out well if you have an Mp3 with a lot of accessories to carry. Good size for briefcase, back pack, glove box but not pocket size. I would definitely buy again. Amazon had a super selection and great price on this item.

This is a nice fitting case for my portable HD. It looks so nice and compact and what a neat color.

I ordered this case expecting a 'durable, hardshell exterior', as stated in the description. The case is extremely floppy and the sides can be easily punched in and turned entirely inside out. There is no padding that I could see. The case would provide a hard drive as much protection as a thick plastic bag.

I will be returning the case and won't be shopping this brand's 'hard case' line again.

It worked out great. Now I feel like it will be well protected by this case while I travel.

The Logic PHDC-1 Portable Hard Drive Case was a life saver and a very good protective measure for my portable HD...I love my HD carrying case.

This product is the perfect protection for your Portable External Hard Drive. If you buy one for your laptop and intend to take it anywhere, I highly recommend this. This is actually the second one I've purchased and I'm happy with both of them. Definitely worth the little bit of cost to protect your product.

If you own the Toshiba 500 GB USB 2.0 Portable External Hard Drive HDDR500E03X (Black/White) and need a case this may not be what you're looking for in terms of size. The suggestion was horrible. It's way bigger than I would like it to be. I was hoping for a more snug fit for the hard drive.

Excellent case, perfect for Toshiba HD, actually I have 5 of these cases, durable and protective, look very neat and light. Different colors of the case make it very attractive and good to distinguish between them, especially if you have more than 4 HD like me.

It's a durable great product to protect external hard drive but a little too bulky for me to carry around.

It's a complete bag to care ur portable Hard Disk... and so much more... I carry my Ipod + Hard Disk... and the cables... just great!

I just got this case today and I must say I'm very pleased by how it managed to fit my two 2.5" external HDD, an old 60GB WD and Seagate FreeAgent Go 500 GB USB 2.0 Portable External Hard Drive ST905003FGA2E1-RK (Silver). Since the WD is slightly bigger and bulkier I put that one on the main compartment and the Seagate on the other. There's a little more than extra space overhead and on the sides, so I used that to put the USB cable and voila, zipping the case is no trouble at all. If you only need the case for just one drive you might have a little problem with it sliding but the black band proves to be tight enough and so mine stays in place even when I shake it real hard. Another solution is to purchase Caselogic LHDC-1 Neoprene Portable Hard Drive Case (Dark Gray), it's pretty big and will provided extra cushion and no sliding. Initially I bought the Neoprene just in case this one can't take my 2 drives but since it can, I will use the Neoprene for something else. I can't vouch for it's protection against dropping onto hard concrete since I won't try just to find out and mine will only go from my computer table to the backpack anyhow. The Case Logic Compact Portable Hard Drive Case works fine for the Seagate Free Agent external hard drive I use it to protect. The case itself is padded semi-rigid fiber and nylon, with a rugged wrap-around zipper. The clam shell interior has a single elastic retainer strap on one side for a hard drive and netting on the other side to hold a USB cable or what-have-you. It is a convenient size for slipping into a brief case or backpack. Highly recommended.

I have been using Case Logic products for many years and was never disappointed. this compact case is great for my latest hdd, wd my passport, and I really think it is one of the best options especially if you care about durability and quality. the whole design and feeling leaves no space for worries in case it drops down or anything and it's certainly nice looking. I like the fact that it's not so small to just fit the my passport as i can use it with an older external drive i got that is a little more bigger. I can even fit it in the front pocket of my Case Logic netbook case! i would not imagine i could buy such a good quality case just for 10USD!!

I purchased this case for my Tascam DR07 Portable Digital Recorder based on the published measurements. It fits perfectly!

it does what it is meant for good to storage your HD but still a little big.

The case is nice enough, for a drive which might actually fit in it. But way too big for my Seagate FreeAgent Go 500. The elastic strap doesn't even stretch when the drive is in place, and the drive is free to slide around and bounce against the edges. Which probably is worse for the drive then just throwing it in the average bag.

I do use it, but I cut a padded envelope in half and wrap the drive in it first, then the drive is truly protected. It's a hassle though, and I'd really like to find a case which actually protected the drive properly and still was easy to take in and out.

Note that this case is not actually padded. It has a semi-rigid shell, which along with some actual padding around the drive would be great. But you'll have to supply your own cushioning (assuming your drive is small enough, like the FreeAgent Go).

I have two of these cases for the current tapered Ego drive and the older flask-shaped drives. Each fits well with a cable in the mesh pocket. (Note: the portable 2.5-inch drives, not the 3.5-inch desktop drives.)
