Product Specifications

With fold-over closure, the slim, streamlined profile of the Casio SL-200TE Solar Dual-Leaf pocket calculator makes it an ideal traveler. Just toss it in the glove compartment or slip it in a pocket for calculations everywhere you want them. It's an indispensable tool for students, households, and offices for quick math calculations, figuring finances, converting cooking measurements, and tracking the grocery bill at the supermarket--anything you can think of when you wish you had a calculator at hand. The SL-200TE makes an ideal extra calculator, and since it's solar powered, it's always at the ready.

Ultraslim at just 0.25 by 4.3 by 5.5 inches, this Casio slips into a portfolio, knapsack, or purse for computations anywhere you travel. Independent memory assures consistent reckoning. It has several special functions keys, including markup and markdown, square root, constants for +, -, x, and /, and a one-touch percentage key. With three-digit comma markers, it's easier to read longer numbers at a glance. The large, readable eight-digit display is not sacrificed in the case's smaller size.

Great for travelers, for tax and currency exchange, and for use in the kitchen, classroom, or office, the Casio SL-200TE solar calculator is affordable enough to have one in each room. Solar power provides constant service, and the backup battery assures you'll always have power in low-light situations and whenever you need it. --Barbara Price

[+] 10.0 Better than a hot date on a Friday night...
Okay maybe not, but as far as desk calculators go, this one continues to please and get positive remarks from friends who need to borrow one. It's about the same size as an iPhone, so if you don't have one of those, you can carry it around and pretend people are calling you and carry on with all sorts of conversations in public with yourself. So again -- why wouldn't you want to have this calculator?

[+] 10.0 Cool, cute and convenient calculator
I first purchased this calculator 8 years ago and only replaced it because the battery died, and finding a replacement was a hassle. This cute little calculator is reliable and portable. It offers a generous key pad and is easy to read. I highly recommend it. I will purchase another in another 8 years.

[+] 6.0 OK_ but slightly big for an "ideal travel" calculator
This Casio 200TE folding pocket calculator is OK.

Pros:
Nice slim/Sleek design. It's Big enough if you need to see large numbers and you will Not lose it in a bag or pocket. The real dimensions in the (closed position) is about 4.5" x 5" (Amazon has the wrong dimensions listed- theirs may be the package sizing, Not the product)

Cons:
I would not consider it "Travel" size. I have the folding Casio SL-100L (Now this is a travel calculator!) It will fit into your hand bag, shirt/pants pocket, etc with ease. Closed Dimensions are about 2" x 3.5". Both the 200 and 100 are basic calculators. The screens are both the same size. The 200 has bigger buttons & frame.

-Although the 200TE is advertised as having a Tax & Exchange rate feature, it is Unnecessary! It takes the same number of button pressing to calculate tax or an exchange rate as it takes to press the codes. You are only multiplying or dividing. If you had to convert between 3 different currencies (1 being the U.S.), all within the same exact session, on a daily basis, perhaps it could save you "some" time ~1 less button press.

When it comes to travel, the more compact 100 does the trick. Amazon's price at (9.99) is a little on the higher end than what I found, but the risk is not finding it in the store.

[+] 2.0 Poor Amazon Service
Amazon did not treat me right on this order. It was in stock at Anazon with no notice of 2-3 day shipping so I ordered it on my Prime account with 2 day shipping as my kid needed it for school in 5 days. Now its over one week, and it has not shipped so the other day I purchased him the same one at a local store. Amazon did something else a little disturbing, 4-5 days ago they switched the order record to non-cancel because its ready to ship so I could not cancel the order even though they apparently were not shipping. I have received good service and poor service from Amazon during the hundreds of products I have purchased from them, this product and the Amazon service rate a one star.

[+] 6.0 Good almost Great Calculator
This Calculator would be excellent except that when you use the tax +or- feature to prepare a ticket it will give the total with the tax included but in order to enter the tax amount to the ticket you have to then subtract the total from the subtotal to find out what the tax amount was. I wish it would display the total and what the figured tax was so it could be easily transferred to the ticket. I do like the clam shell design and will probably buy another if something happens to this one.

[+] 10.0 ideal product
I am very happy with this calculator, the size of the keys and display are more than adequate and the closing lid keeps the keyboard clean. Perfect for personal use at home or on the road.

[+] 4.0 Not Very Useful
Looking at this product's picture it appears that the top hinged part can be used in an upright position. This is mis-leading. When you open it and flip the top up, it is designed to lay back in a flat position. It seems designed to use on a flat surface more than a hand-held type of calculator. It is about 4-3/4" wide so I can only hold it on its side, not fully grasp it. It is, however, a very attractive calculator with an elegant silver case. Very attractive for a woman's use, or handsome for a man's use. The keys are very soft and responsive. The readout is very large and easy to read. Overall it's a beautiful product, but not terribly functional as a hand-held calculator.

[+] 10.0 A necessity
The greatest small calculator around. This was my second one to purchase. I had the other for probably 10 years before the battery gave up. I use it frequently and have always been pleased by its performance.

[+] 10.0 A Great Reliable Calculator
This handy calulator fits nicely into a purse, jacket pocket, or backpack. I use it while I'm out grocery shopping, and it works great. It does all the basic functions, and includes a currency exchange feature as well. The buttons are a nice size, not too small nor too big. There will be no need for battery replacement since it is solar powered. I would recommend it to anyone who is looking for a basic calculator.

[+] 10.0 Calculatingly Cool
So I finally decided to get myself a new handheld calculator. The old one was being held together by scotch tape, and although still (almost) operable, it just didn't give the right impression at meetings when a key would fall off during important discussions. (Like the cost of lunch)

I've used my old faithful for nearly ten years, but as the time for loyalty and nostalgia expired with the "plus" key, it was time to boldly venture into the wide, wild world of stationery to search for a new toy.

After peering for what seemed like centuries at the dazzling array of handheld calculators that could do everything except pack the groceries, I made a calculated (okay, desperate) decision to choose by brand first, and appearance next. Brand was easy - Texas Instruments sounded like it should be used by engineers or very bright college kids, so not even being able to remember what a "cosine" was, I decided for a simple but trustworthy brand like Casio. (There were cheaper ones, but somehow the ones with brightly colored keys that play a tune just didn't say "Corporate" to me)

This one folds up into what looks like a flat cigarette case, can fit in your pocket, and has an embossed stylized leaf on the cover. Sleek and sturdy looking, yet cool enough not to be nerdy, it has an 8 digit display with big numbers (all the better to see them with, my dear) and also big keys with a rubberized finish for non-skid number crunching.

But that's not all - it can also calculate tax rates (handy for those shopping expeditions when there's that pesky tax added on), and has three exchange rate conversion memory functions for overseas trips. You can calculate both "price plus tax" and "price less tax" after setting the applicable tax rate, and by pressing a button a second time you can see the actual tax figure also. Instructions are included in several languages, and even the English is comprehensible.

Last, but not least, it is dual powered (battery and solar), shuts off by itself, and the battery can be replaced, making this an ideal calculator for business persons, travelers and mall rats everywhere.

[+] 10.0 I love this calculator!
I already have one, for my briefcase, and just ordered another one for my desk. I searched for a long time to find a good quality little calculator with a snap-close cover and this one fit the bill perfectly. Not only does it work very well, but it is attractive and the buttons are a nice size. The LED screen is also nice and large. Two thumbs up for Casio on this one!

[+] 10.0 Casio SL-200TE Solar DualLeaf Pocket Calculator
I was looking for a pocket calculator with a lid to keep out dirt and dust and protect the keys that also is capabable of withstanding some rough use.
This is a very nice calculator. Exactly fits the bill. It's basic without square root or other trig functions but for $10 it's a solar powered calculator that should last a very long time.

[+] 10.0 Very Basic But Very Good
I have the Casio MS70-L; while this model has been discontinued or is no longer stocked, it is functionally almost identical to the Casio SL-200TE Solar DualLeaf, except the SL-200TE folds in half to close, and the MS70-L does not fold. For everyday household usage, this calculator is hard to beat. It has a large, easy-to-read LCD display, and a rugged plastic body.

*thinks upon the many times mine has survived being dropped*

It runs off any light-source, and the light does not have to be bright. It handles all basic calculations, and the large keys make mistakes infrequent. This calculator's ability to fold closed transforms it from desk-only to desk-or-pocket usage.
