[+] 6.0 Good Picture
I bought this to watch tv in bedroom. It has a good picture and the sound is okay. It is kind of cheaply made I worry about the coax coming off. The remote feels like it is going to break soon. I tried 2 different universal remotes but neither worked. Its not too bad for the price.

[+] 8.0 Coby TFTV1923 19-Inch Widescreen LCD HDTV/Monitor
First, let me clarify, why not 5 stars? Simple really, it is advertised as a 19" Widescreen HDTV/Monitor; so I was expecting at least 17" viewable horizontally, and it is only 16". A little picky I suppose, still it was not quite what I expected.

As far as everything else, I am very happy with it, especially considering the low price. The setup menus are easy to access and use via the remote; I found the default settings to be good, and only changed one of them. The picture quality is very good, and the sound is certainly adequate.

As reported in other reviews, the remote is not extremely solid, but I do think adequate, and will probably last longer than some other reviewers think it will (just try not to drop it on the floor too many times!). And yes, it seems you must point the remote rather directly at the screen, and more towards the right side than the left; but this is not all that annoying to me since the unit is located in the kitchen, and I am generally not more than 8-10 feet away anyway.

If you are one of those who like to regularly "channel surf", you will likely be annoyed by the 2-3 seconds it takes to switch channels; since I am not one of those, this again is not very annoying to me.

The tuner sensitivity is better than the HD converter box that I had hooked up to the analog TV that was replaced by this unit, and pulls in a number of more channels. The only interesting thing is that the strongest HD signal in the area does not come in; I suspect it may be too strong and is over-driving the tuner. I may be able to solve that issue with a more expensive indoor amplified HD antenna smart enough to limit an extremly strong signal; but I have not tried that yet.

I did not buy the unit to use as a computer monitor, so I can't say anything about that. Overall though, a very nice little unit for the price.

[+] 2.0 Buy cheap, get cheap
Picture is OK. Otherwise the thing is flimsy and is built like a cheap toy. With volume on 100% I can barely hear it 15-20 feet away. The menus for setup are not intuitive, and the remote is picky at best in response to pressing buttons.

[+] 6.0 the real review
i got this T.V. because i didnt want to spend a lot of money and i needed an HDTV for my ps3. first off FEDEX SUCKS. they were used over ups which was there first mistake. The controller for the TV is cheap as hell. i will prob get a universal remote. When i hooked up the cable i was surprised to have HD channels but it was confussing with the 51.1's n such. channel surfing is really hard because it takes around 2 seconds for the picture to appear so that's a huge negative. the sound is alright... really easy to switch from video to tv mode which is a plus.the picture was amazing for my ps3. couldn't ask for anything better. so if ur looking for a gaming tv this is the tv for you, if your looking for a tv to watch channels on.. not so great

[+] 10.0 a great buy
At first I was a bit hesitant to purchase this HDTV becuz of its cheap price. I purchased it for my bedroom. I am very pleased about my purchase. The coby has great picture quality, about 180 viewing angle, easy to use. The sound is good for a smaller room. Not a big living room. This is a very good buy. And guess what?? It's not expensive and certainly can match other more expensive brands.

[+] 4.0 TV worked-A/V Didn't
I purchased this unit for use as a stand-alone video monitor. The A/V and VGA inputs did not work out of the box. But the Tuner section worked just fine with a small antenna in a fringe area. Returned for a different video-only 22" LCD.
Amazon, as always, was #1 in customer support and refunded my cost with no trouble and the funds were back in my account within 6 days. As soon as they received it. Thanks, guys!

[+] 8.0 Works fine
I purchased this for a kids room, this TV works just fine.
I like the feature that you can lock all of the settings with a code.
I will say that the remote is cheesy. It feels cheap and I have already purchased a universal remote as a stand by when the remote the TV came with stops working.

[+] 2.0 Not Good
I purchased this for my motorhome. I did not expect much, but I felt it would be good enough.

First two of the studs pulled out of the back of the set as I tightened the mounting bracket for wall mounting. With two studs already pulled out and two remaining, I did not have any confidence that the TV would remain on the wall. If you plan to just use the supplied stand, than this should not be a concern.

Secondly, although many reviewers said the picture was great, it was not. It was very poor. After spending time adjusting, I improved it a little, but the color was still off. The skin tones were not consistent from scene to scene.

Third, the set was not able to pull many of the local stations using an antenna. The converter box that I was using, pulled in more stations than the TV set was able to pull in on its own.

Fourth, the remote control feels very cheap. Every time I used it, the remote control case felt flimsy. It did work, but it reminded me of the low price I paid for the set.

So, I returned the set to Amazon and will be ordering something different. This set was cheap, but for me, it was not good enough. I did not think this was a good value. I rather pay a little more and have a decent picture.

[+] 8.0 Good TV, Great for the Price
I was looking for a new TV in the bedroom, and the price on this was wonderful. I took a calculated risk based on the reviews I read, and it has paid off. The picture and sound quality are very good, and I have had no real problems in the first few months of ownership. While I can confirm that the remote is a bit finicky (you can't just point it at the TV, you need to point it at the lower right CORNER of the TV), it is not irritating enough to qualify as a problem. I also would prefer if the TV did not show the brand logo every time you turn it on (maybe this is something I can turn off in the menu settings) but again, not anything to get worked up about. If you are looking for a TV this size, go for this one. I have no regrets!

[+] 10.0 Good purchase.
I read the reviews before purchasing because there are so many brands on the market. I needed an inexpensive set for a guest bedroom/office. I made a good purchase.

Nice cabinet, good picture quality at a great price.
