Dex Products Safe Sleeper Bed Rail Ultra

The 'Dex Products Safe Sleeper Bed Rail Ultra' seems to be a good purchase so far. Though it has only been used for a month, it seems like it's keeping our child safe in bed and it's good on thick mattresses.

We tried a few other sleep guards and one was too short in the height causing my son to roll right outta bed. The second guard was too flimsy and when my son rolled against it when he was sleeping the darn thing pulled right out from under the mattress. The third one we tried the guard was supposed to be able to flip down so that you can get the bed changed easily, etc. Well it kept flipping down by it self.

In desperate search for a quality sleep guard, we tried this one. I thought the price was a little high but figured we bought the cheaper ones and thats what we got cheap. So we spent the extra money and....

THIS IS THE BEST SLEEP GUARD OUT THERE IN MY OPINION. MOMS AND DADS, DONT WASTE ANY MORE OF YOUR TIME, GET THIS ONE, TRUST ME FROM ONE PARENT TO ANOTHER, THIS IS THE ONE YOU WANT!!!

I really like this product. Nine pieces total to put together. Took me 15 minutes to put it together, probably could have done it quicker by my 2 year old niece was helping me. Very sturdy and safe. I felt very comfortable allowing her to sleep on her own in a twin size bed. She liked it as well. Feel confident buying the product. It is well worth the money!

Although my husband had a little difficulty setting up the bed rail, once it was up, we loved it. It is so easy to put up and down so it's easy to make the bed and can stay down during the day. The only thing I wish is that it folded up easily to take places. But overall, a great bed rail.

This bedrailing is sturdy and doesn't move when my very active 23mo-old pushes and pulls on it, so I don't have any complaints. But truthfully if I were to buy another one I'd get a longer one (56") so it doesn't leave so much space at the head/foot of the bed. I now have to wedge pillows there. And I'd get one that flips down for making the bed, or in case an adult needs to get in/out. That nicer model was on backorder so I got this one as my 2nd choice, and I'm sort of sorry that I didn't wait.

My son is a very restless sleeper. I was very nervous about putting him into his big boy bed. After a couple of nights of seeing him move all over the bed with the rail in place I have no more fears. He kicks it, rests against it, shakes it, and pushes on it. It has stayed stable and tight to the bed. I love this product.

We had no problems with assembly. It only took us about 10 minutes, and it was entirely set up. We've been using the bed rail for a few weeks now, and our 2 1/2 year old hasn't fallen out of bed once. He's been up against the rail in the morning a few times, and it's held solid. Really like the fold down feature as well...very simple to use. I would buy this product again.

This was so easy to put together, stays very secure, and the safety strap was even long enough for a king size bed.

I highly recommend this product. I have used another bed rail product
at my vacation home. The rail was too short and my grandson fell out of
bed. This rail is extra long, very secure, easy to put together and easy
to install.

I've used the Dex Safe Sleeper for my four year old grandson--who is a handful. He slept well and remained in bed!

We've only had this bed rail for about a month, but so far so good. My two-year old is a climber and he has climbed up and down and around that rail a million times without hurting himself or the rail. It is very sturdy and stays in place. I'd buy this product again.

Set up is easy -- there are only six pieces or so and they snap together -- no tools needed. My two-year old "helped" and we got it done in about 20 minutes. The only problem with the directions is that there are no pictures, so if you're a visual person you might have trouble identifying parts. But, the written description is detailed and fairly easy to follow.

The only issue I have is that the rail is too tall to fold down completely for our box spring. The distance from the top of the box spring to the floor needs to be at least 18 inches for it to fold down completely. We just have the rail fold down at an angle -- it makes it like a little ladder, which is fine.

Although the safety strap is a bit difficult to figure out how to tighten, the "legs" that go between the mattress and box spring do a fine job of holding it in place even when our 35 lb toddler is wedged up against it. Love that it folds down almost all the way-another inch and it would. This works perfectly and gives about a foot of room of open space at the head and about 18 in by the foot(where the step stool goes) on a full size "big kid" bed.

We bought this rail for our king size bed so our 18 month old son could sleep on the side without us worrying. We had him sleeping between us, but were missing being able to cuddle before falling asleep.

It's perfect! It was easy and quick to install. I have no safety concerns whatsoever. We have a tall mattress and a regular box spring. The rail is high enough for our mattress. But when folded down, it BARELY lies flat against the bed, sliding across the floor as you push it down. There's really no way around this though, since we need the extra height of this bed rail for our thick mattress.

Great, wide and secure. Folds easily for putting away. Does a great job and good price. I got this for my elderly mother who recently broke her hip after coming home from the hospital. The ones from the medical supply costs about 200.00 so this was a perfect solution.

When researching which one to buy I read so many terrifying reviews about bed rails in general, how it took hours to assemble or the child still fell off the bed, but THIS BED RAIL IS GREAT! It came and I told my husband, 'okay I might need you help because these things are a hassle,' but turns out I probably could have assembled it with one hand! GREAT PRODUCT!

I put this together myself and found it to be very easy once you get all the poles laid out in front. I did install the middle bar even though my son's mattress was not over 11 inches or whatever it was. So far after 4 days/night, he's not fallen out and seems to be very sturdy.

One thing to note - this bedrail has a teather so you can not just simply slide this out like the old time bedrails.

Also, it states it is not to be used with a toddler bed.

We put these on our bed as our 7 month old twins were starting to move quite a bit & we were worried about falls. They are fantastic! Very easy to put the sides up & down and quiet enough that you can do so without waking sleeping kiddos.

Very happy with these! No problem putting them on both sides of a queen sized bed.

We have two of these on a Queen bed. One on the side of the bed and another on the end of the bed with the bed in the corner. It works well and was easy to install, though it required two people, one to lift the matress and another to tighten the strap for the disc that goes across the matress and holds the bed rail against the matress.
It is important to make sure the strap is tight so the rail is snug against the matress.

I was looking for something sturdy, reasonably priced and safe as we were transitioning our 21 month old son from his crib to a twin bed. This product certainly lived up to these 3 expectations! Also, It folds down easily to be able to make the bed. The only slight negative I would say is that my twin bed frame, box springs and mattress are not high enough to be able to fold the rail down completely flat against the side. However, this isn't a big problem for me as you are still able to make up the bed easily. I looked at a million and one different products and reviews before settling on this one. The only additional comment I have is that I would definitely advise you to use the middle support rail whether you think you need it or not as it does give it added strength. I am very happy with this product and would definitely recommend it to others.

Wonderful product.

I did screw up the instructions as they are a little bit tricky - but don't let that discourage you. It still only took 5 min to put together, and I did it without assistance.

You will need help putting it on the bed, as that is more complicated, but it's worth it for the security. This thing is NOT budging once it's in place, and I love the security that provides me at night (and naptime)!

It also folds completely down so you can do sheets, etc.

I love it. Glad I went with this one. Would def. buy it again!

This is the best bed rail ever! I was a bit confused about the differences between this one and the Universal Safe Sleeper. The hinge on the Universal has been raised 1" and that's the only difference. Oh, and $10 more.

I have a california king platform bed and had a hard time finding a rail that works. I set this up with my husband and had a relatively easy time with it. I used it for protecting my baby from falling off. It is sturdy and long enough. I also put pillow around it so my baby can not fall into the slit between the rail and mattress. It is easy to fold down and use and I highly recommend this product.

This is a good product, but the instructions are not well written, so I got about 1/2 way through and realized I'd set it up backwards and had to start over. What should have taken 20 minutes to assemble wound up taking 30-40. But now that it's up, it's great and my son does not fall out of bed anymore! He can also climb around it to get on or off the bed when he's awake and he needs to get out, so he's not trapped.

My one other complaint is that, my mattress and box spring must not be the max height, because it doesn't fold completely down (only about 90%) when I try to do so. That said, it's not a big problem, I can still change the sheets easily, etc.

This was a cinch to put together and install. It is very sturdy and keeps my toddler from rolling out of bed. I am using it on a twin mattress without the box spring on the floor. This isn't a recommended way to use it on the box (says to use WITH box spring) however it is still very secure and the bed is nice and low for my son to get in and out of. Very happy with the product.

I really like this product. I secures safely to the bed and fits very snuggly. We have a pillow top mattress that is really high on our twin bed and this rail is a good 12 inches over the mattress. I feel safe sleeping my little one in the bed with this rail. There are no gaps and no way she could slide between the rail and the mattress.

The problem that I have with this rail is that it is so high that when you fold it down to get it out of the way, it will not lay flat against the bed because it is higher than the distance from the mattress to the ground. So, it has to stay up all the time or people will trip on it or little ones will try to use it as a slide.

I bought two of these for my three year old, who we were transitioning from her crib to her "big girl" bed. We got one for each side of the bed. They were easy to assemble, looked nice (for bed rails), and were easy to fold down. The only issue for us in assembly and general operation is that they are so tall in height that when we fold them down they do not lie flat against the side of the bed because the height of the rail is taller than the space from the floor to the hinge on the rail.

When we assembled the products, there was an additional metal bar included (you can see it in the picture of the product at the height of the mattress top), which the instructions clearly state is not to be used unless you have an unusally tall mattress. Otherwise, you are told to omit the bar. We do not have an unusually tall mattress (the instructions gave a specific height and we missed it by several inches) so we omitted the bar.

Last night was my daughter's first night sleeping in her bed and all went well. Tonight, however, I heard the frightening thunk of my daughter hitting the hardwood, followed immediately by her cries. It appears she slipped between the upper bar and without the additional bar the mesh was inadequate to hold her on the bed.

Thankfully, she seems fine. I located the metal bars that were supposedly only for the tall mattresses and inserted them immediately because I do not think there would be a way for her to slip out with those installed. Please beware when assembling this product to consider including these rails even if you do not have a tall mattress.

Easy to assemble and keeps our toddler from falling off the bed while sleeping. Recommend this product to parents because it is easy to assemble and light weight.
