Epson Ultra Premium Photo Paper Luster (8.5 x 11, 50 Sheets)

I came to Amazon to look for this paper after a very frustrating experience with Epson's 'customer-no-service' people. I would have even paid more just to not have to deal with the lack of service. So imagine my suprize when I not only found the paper I wanted, BUT it was also priced substantially lower than Epson's site!
Woo Hoo!! Amazon, you came through yet again!

A little expensive, but prints look amazing when printed with the appropriate ICC profile on a nice printer (I use the epson R1900). Great quality paper.

I am using this paper with an Epson Stylus Photo 1400. When I got the printer I got some Office Depot brand gloss premium photo paper because it was on sale, about half off. I was happy with the results, but I wanted to see if I was missing out by not having the Epson Ultra Premium. I like the Epson paper better, it looks like a professionally printed photo on professional paper. The Office Depot Premium paper looks good, but it still sort of has that home photo printer look. I have also never been a fan of glossy photos, I like the slightly matte look of the Ultra Premium. If I compare the Office Depot paper at the price I got it at (about $10 on sale) to the Epson Ultra Premium, I don't know if I would keep buying the Epson, but comparing them at their normal prices, I think it is worth it to spend a little more and get the Ultra Premium.

First off I ordered Ultra Premium Glossy and received the Luster version. The vendor Shoplet.com has been a pain, very slow and unresponsive to correct my order. They took the money! Well, somebody has. They initially delivered quickly and when I contacted them to correct they stalled us for additional 3 weeks. Since then I sent them the Luster paper, another 3 weeks...no word. Oh brother.

I have an Epson R-380 high definition printer with Claria inks and the best paper that I've found for it is the Ultra Premium Photo Paper Glossy, which is by far the best photo paper that's I've ever used on that printer. I've also had excellent results with the Ultra Premium Presentation Paper Matte. It's interesting but I recently tried some Kodak Premium Photo Paper Matte and it might be an excellent paper on another printer, on the Epson, produced extremely small horizontal lines. Barely noticeable but definitely there. With the Epson matte paper, these line completely disappeared and the results were near perfection.

I've had such great results with these papers that I decided to try the Ultra Premium Photo Paper Luster and all I can say is that I'm definitely adding it to my papers. I run a small business selling photo prints and cards and use different papers. The finish is determined by the photo. Some just call out for high gloss, while others require a different surface.

The luster finish is sort of a cross between matte and glossy and is similar to the ilford pearl paper but holds the Epson inks a bit better. It's a beautiful surface and is a pleasure to look at. It's actually luxurious.

Between these three Epson papers, I have it all covered. The choice in photo paper makes all the difference in the world to the serious photographer. Not so much if you're just printing snapshots. This review is aimed at those who want professional photo lab results at home.

The Epson R-380 printer as well as these three papers provide the best results. Since I'm actually selling these prints, I'm not as interested in keeping the costs of printing down as I am in the results.

Even a few years ago, who would have thought that this level of excellence was possible with home inkjet printing? I now have a full color photo lab right in my office.

The package came in very bad shape -- it looked very beat up. I almost returned it without opening it. However, when I did open the package, the paper was in excellent shape. Yes, I would buy this product again.

This is the only professional photo media that I use for my Epson printed pictures.

On my Epson R2400 this paper produces beautiful prints. Both color and black & white.

This is the greatest paper I have ever used. The pictures could not be better if printed professionally. Along with my Epson R220 printer, the combination is perfect.

I've tried all the major premium papers (not the specialty papers like watercolor or canvas styled ones), and I keep looking for a paper that has the subtly and fineness of color, range, and clarity of this paper, so I can save money. But I still can't find one. One proviso, you must wait 24 hours after your print comes out of your printer before handling the finished product. It might look great and 'touchable', but it takes about 24 hours for the chemical reaction to fully bring out the full tonal qualities. Print, admire, put it in a safe place for a day, then look at the results. If you can find a truly comparable paper, let me know.

I do a lot of scrapbooking and this is the best paper I have found to give me consistant color. I still use an Epson 1280 and they work very well together.

This paper is great for reproducing digital images both color and black and white. The surface is in between a glossy and a matte finish. I have not had any problems with color reproduction on the paper or problems with the color fading. It does have benefits over the matte finish, it does not scratch like the matte finish and there is more definition in the image. The paper is a good buy if you want high quality archival prints at a low cost. I use an epson printer so I can not personally say how it works with other printer profiles but I do know that people have had success using other printers other than epson with this paper. There is one concern that I have noticed and that is if you store your prints anywhere where they could be exposed to high heat make sure that the images do not touch if they are stacked. I have not had any prints ruined but I have noticed that they will stick together slightly.

Used this for printing passport photos. Even my Dutch passport photo was accepted. (The Dutch gov't recently made photo rules extremely strict, I was the first at the consulate who had photos that were actually correct on the first try.)

Beautiful paper for any type of print using the R1800

I love the texture of this paper, the ink seems to stand out on it, and the finish is very similar to instore photo processing. I'm an avid scrapper, and just nerdy enough to not like the textures mixed in my pages. This fits right in with my pages from commercial processing, without having to wait for a trip or two to the store. I have a canon printer, so it's taken a little experimenting to get the brightness I am used to, but once I saved those settings, everything is printing great now.

A high quality paper that produces great colors on my Epson printer. I found out the hard way (after a lot of wasted time using cheap paper) that printing on good quality paper makes a big difference.

The finish of this paper looks identical to that of many professional portrait studios. The paper even says "EPSON Professional Paper - Do not Duplicate" on the watermark on the reverse. This is by far the best paper to get for printing professional looking photos on an Epson Inkjet printer. It's better than their matte paper which looks too flat yet it doesn't have that overly glaring finish like the premium glossy. The detail of the prints is excellent using this paper on my Stylus Photo R220.

Of the paper products for their inkjet printers that Epson makes this is of the higher level.

The premium luster photo paper will make you never want to visit a photo lab again. Depending on the print, I use the ultrapremium or premium luster. You get a little softer feel with this paper and less gloss. I use an Epson R1800 printer which gives the option of a gloss optimizer.

You won't regret trying out this paper. The colors contrast perfectly and look fantastic. It will make your prints look professional. This is a highly recommended product.

This paper is just glossy enough to make a photo look professional, but with out the glare of high gloss paper. it also had enough weight to feel like it will last.

Extremely good paper, I've tried other brands of papers with mi Epson R270 and I couldn't get the results that I expected until I get this paper!

This paper is double sided, which saves me money every time I use it because, let's face it, I mess up. Sometimes the print didn't come out quite the color I expected or I forgot to add/delete something I'd planned on. Not to mention that double sided is absolutely wonderful for test strips -- not only for getting twice the area to run them on, but also if I decide I don't need a print I've made I can save it to use the back for test strips! The texture is slightly different from the regular Epson Premium Luster Photo Paper I've used in the past, but it has not effected the print quality or color.

I use this paper for portraits, compared to other paper, the results are unbelievable. MAKES A PHOTO LOOK LIKE A WOW SHOT.

I purchased this paper in the 11.7 x 16.5 size for my epson R1800 printer after reading the reviews for the 8.5 x 11. I wasn,t dissapointed this is by far the best paper on the market. I printed an 11x14 of a photo that I had printed by a photo lab on luster paper, and it looked as good as,and in some respects beter than the photo lab print of the same size. The print that I made had thegloss optimizer turned on and it gave it just a little sheen that in my opinion looks beter than the lab print. If you want lab quality prints this is the paper for you.

This is by far the best photo paper out there! Colors look great! The surface is superb! I use this paper with my Canon i850 and it's fabulous... try this paper and it will be the only paper that you will ever want to use with your inkjet!

I have a Canon i950 that I hadn't been that happy with using photo paper by Burlington, Fuji, or Kodak. I purchased this to try to see if the poor quality of my prints was the printer or the paper. Having placed the Epson Premium Luster through several head to head comparisons tonight - the answer is that the printer is fine and the Epson Premium Luster is AWESOME.

The photos print just beautifully on this paper. Colors are crisp, droplets don't smudge together and the luster surface dries quickly. This has the look and feel of the paper that wedding photographer use. I printed both high pixel and low pixel count photos. The low pixel counts looked much better on this paper but the proof really comes on high pixel count photos. The resolution is lovely.

I've used my Epson 890 Printer now for many, many years. I was using Epson High Gloss Paper for my printing needs with great satisfaction. I tried this paper and boy did the picture pop when printed. Such a beautiful blend of colors, and a professional look, you will be truly amazed. I have always used Epson inks and the printer has worked perfectly. I will go into custom settings when printing and set the DPI to 2880. Between the high DPI setting and the Epson Premium Luster Paper I can't go wrong (and neither will you!). For that little "extra something" when it comes to printing your special photos believe me you'll be very happy with this paper.

I print a lot of pictures in my business. This is by far the best paper I have used. I have several types of printers, Cannon, Epson, HP and this works well with all of them. This is a great deal as far as price goes as well. I did a lot of research to find the least expensive to try this product out and this was the best price and the fastest delivery! Professional or family fun this is professional quality paper.

This is a very professional looking stock. You will not be disappointed. Great price for a super Luster finish.
Colors and image really pop on this stock. I use this stock on my Canon i860 and have NO problems at all. Dries fast and looks great.

I have an Epson 960 Photo Printer. I have tried various Epson photo papers with the printer and this is by far the best. The premium glossy paper was nice but I could see some bands through the image that were barely percepible even when the printer was new. With the Premium Luster paper the ink lays down beautifully and perfectly and the image has what I can only describe in words as a rich feel to it. Paper selection is very personal but if you have not tried this paper you owe it to yourself to run some of it through your printer. There's a good chance you'll be back for more.

I use this paper to print out 2.3 to 4 megapixel digital photos on an Epson C44UX printer at 8 x 6. The finish of the paper has a beautiful jeweled look and the paper dries quickly. The colors do not smudge placed inside archival sleeves. In comparison to other papers I have used the past month, it's far superior to Southworth standard glossy paper. Southworth paper actually warps because the gel layer might be too thin or maybe because the paper is cheaply produced -- Southworth paper is essentially paper with a thin coating of something or other. Kodak Premium Photo paper (glossy) was not as good either. The Kodak paper has a cheaper look to it, but maybe it's due to the glossy finish(?). The Kodak paper is also whiter and the colors looked a bit washed out by comparison to the Epson prints. The print output looked like it came from an inkjet printer. Viewed alone, Kodak prints looked okay -- it's when you put them side by side with another paper that's better. HP Premium Plus (glossy) was nearly as good, but the colors also didn't seem to appear as natural. It may have something to do with whatever gel or emulsion Epson is coating this paper with. The results on Epson paper look like photos from the photo lab -- it's hard to believe my forty five buck printer can make this kind of output. Like someone said elsewhere, you can spend hundreds on a high tech printer, but if you get low quality paper, the results are yuck. So, I use my remaining supply of the other papers to print out labels and things, and I use the Epson paper to print out photos that I frame and hang on the wall. This paper is recommended.

This is a fantastic product. I use it to print pictures with a professional look. It is a matte finish paper and the finished product looks so much better on this paper than any other photo paper. I print at home, and it is virtually impossible to distinguish the photos I have printed on this paper from professional processing. I highly recommend this product.
