Garden Ballet 26004-1 Hummingbird Feeder Mobile

We received one of these as a gift initially. We really liked it--it's unusual and attractive. Our hummingbirds did not have any trouble using it (as some other reviews have indicated). Although other reviews report problems with leakeage, we did not experience this (ours hangs over a flowerbed, so I wouldn't have seen the stain from a leak, but the frequency with which I needed to refill it did not indicate any leaking). It's lovely moving in the wind, and despite a number of strong storms with high winds, did not sustain any damage. During the second season we had it out in our front yard, however, someone stole it! We woke up one morning and it was gone. We liked it and missed it so much that I immediately ordered another one. We've been very happy with ours and would recommend it,

This product is lovely to look at but as soon as the wind blows all the liquid spills over the edges. Good for attracting bees, hornets and yellow jackets but nothing more.

This is an very attractive feeder, and it only took a few days for hummingbirds to find ours. BUT the hummer that did find it drilled at it like a woodpecker trying to get to the nectar. Luckily I was watching as this happened and so was able to figure out why that globe leaked: the hummer had drilled through instead of finding the hole. This is probably why so many reviewers report leaks. The holes need to be more accessible to hummingbirds. Also, the globes would be much prettier if they were in fact all red, as pictured in the ads. If these rather major problems were fixed, this would be a great product.

This product is beautiful "ART" addition to the back yard. The hummingbirds seem to like it, but it leaks like a sieve and has to be constantly filled! I really want to feed the hummers, not the ants. The plastic parts are also weak and break easily. Refine the good idea and you might have a winner!

FINALLY! Someone with a brain has designed the perfect Hummer Feeder!

Forget all those cute, plastic things with the fake flowers and the little perches or rings for the birds to 'rest' on. That's a load of poo if you know what I mean.

The Hummingbird was made to eat while hovering over flowers moving in the breeze. If they need a rest, they go hang out in a nearby tree and then come back to this feeder for another slurp of nectar. I don't use red dye in the nectar and the hummers had no problem finding the globes or the feeding holes. As far as the wind is concerned, the weight of the globes keeps things fairly steady too. If not, that's why hummers can hover! :)

I USED to have problems here in Arizona with finches and sparrows lighting on those stupid perches and flat bottoms. They would flutter their wings and cause the feeder to rock side to side, sloshing the nectar out so they could suck it up. Consequently, three days later the feeder was empty and the Hummers hardly got squat!

Not any more! These little globes (and you can buy just one by itself, or with the mobile like I did) not only look cool, but are perfect for the Hummer lifestyle. The hummers found the globes and the feeding holes with NO Problem, AND, the best part is, there are no perches or footholds for the stupid finches and sparrows to sit on and steal all the food! Good job guys!

I love the look of the feeder!! Have had a few hummers, but that's due to its being the first feeder I have put out I guess it takes some time.
If it gets hot (direct sun) it gets leaky as others have said. I moved to a shady spot and have had no further problems.

On a side note, the seller provided outstanding customer service. Kudos!!

I bought this because it was so pretty, and I found it to be quite durable. However, the hummingbirds wouldn't eat out of it! I tried everything. First I hung it up but the hummers ignored it. So I hung a standard feeder it its place and when I had a lot of hummers coming to it, I put this one back up instead. The hummers went away. I even taped yellow cut-out flowers around the feeding ports, thinking they might find them better that way. Nope. Sadly, I finally just threw it away. I didn't want to--it cost a lot and is indeed so pretty--but useless.

I love the look of feeder and unlike some other reviews, I did not find the feeder delicate. I love that I can just put the pieces in the dishwasher. But the biggest problem is that it continually leaks so I would never buy this type of feeder again.

This feeder might not be for everybody but if you have a contemporary home it's great

I am really enjoying this feeder. I bought it to hang from the balcony of our townhouse in San Francisco in an area where there are lots of hummingbirds. The feeder looks great. Initially the birds seemed to have bit of trouble knowing how to access the food, but after a couple of days they figured it out. I did follow the suggestion with the feeder to put flowers in a couple of the ports to direct the birds. Now the feeder is the site of frequent feeding and even territorial disputes which are exciting to watch. My only complaint, and one registered by other reviewers, is that the sugar water does tend to drip out especially on hot days. Not only does this make a mess, but it does mean refilling the globes more frequently.

I prefer to feed the hummers with a variety of fresh flowers, but when mid summer hit its stride and the flowers were not as abundant, I noticed some hummingbirds trying to get nectar out of this feeder which was hanging simply for decorative purposes in my garden. (My sister in law had given it as a gift). I quickly boiled up a batch of nectar and now have a bunch of hummers fighting to control my back yard feeders. I ended up separating the three feeders hanging them with s-hooks around my patio area. thus "three for the price of one!"
I fill only as much as will be used in a couple of days, then simply rinse and refill. I plan to buy another set!
Over the years, I have tried other feeders but none were as productive and easy to use, or bee resitant as these "egg" feeders. I love them and highly recommend them.

it leaks like crazy! I've had this feeder for 3 yers now and a month after I had it hung, I noticed that the patio ground underneath was always sticky. Upon investigation I noticed that liquid was leaking out of all the ports from all the glass jars. I ordered this item from another place, but thought to share my experience here. After 3 years, I'm ready to switch to another feeder and throw this away! I wouldn't really recommend this as a hummingbird feeder, maybe as a decoration but not a functional feeder.

This item was sent as a gift from Australia to my American sister in Virginia. She says it is so very pretty compared to the plastic flower feeders she normally uses. The bowls are large and the hummingbirds used the feeder immediately. Care must be taken in hanging so the glass bowls don't bang against a hard object. The hook was a little shallow and had to be tied on. Otherwise, she is delighted.

Interesting mobile hummingbird feeder that looks very nice. Was priced right and hope the local hummingbirds find it. As with all hummingbird feeders, breezes tend to slosh the nectar out of the feeder!

beautiful & elegant even without the birds. Very durable only looks like fragile.
When the little creature takes a moment to drink the nectar, we all share the joy.
I have 2 of them. Would like to have a dozen, but my practical husband....shall I continue?

My husband purchased a hummingbird feeder mobile for my birthday about a year ago. I have had more compliments and friends asking where they could get one. This past Christmas I purchased two more and gave them as gifts. The recipients were so happy and love them. I have many hummers visit mine even though I have honeysuckle bushes all around my yard. Plus it looks great hanging on my porch among my plants and catches light beautifully.

This feeded does not work well at all. As soon as the sun hits it the liquid drips out. By the end of the day the balls are empty and the ants below are feasting. I tried it one time and it has been in my garage ever since. Oh, well!

I've had this feeder hanging from a shepard's crook on a windy, exposed, patio, approximately three stories off the ground, for roughly three years now without a problem. The globes are clear glass with red plastic (base) caps that have holes for feeding. While I admit the metal rings that hold the globes to the swooping metal arms seem flimsy, I haven't had one give up, yet. The plastic caps are getting sun faded, and don't flow was well as they used to, but they still work fine.

Really enjoyed this hummingbird feeder. It hangs outside my kitchen window and the hummers flock to it. It's lasted through being dropped, outside year-round and lots of direct sunlight. The little plastic pieces on the bottom finally gave out on one after hanging in there for 5 years. It's just the right size, a unique piece and a great addition to outdoor decor.

Bought this for my Grand Daughter last year. It hangs on her porch where she likes to sit. She loves to watch the birds.

I have had this in my yard since June 25, 2004. The only reason that I have it at all is that Amazon gave it to me for free with another purchase. That is what this item is worth. This gets one star from me for the following reasons: 1. It's fragile, the feeders are heavy glass and would break in the course of normal use if you weren't extremely careful with it. 2. The feeders drip the liquid out too fast; one time through convinced me not to use it any more. 3. It is a beautiful mobile in the garden, which is not the use for which it was intended. I have it in a sheltered area where the wind cannot move it.

I was never a bird watcher, but since I hung this feeder, I have seen hummingbirds in every color imaginable. So much fun to watch. They fly in and away so quickly that I can't snap a picture, but they come back for more! The feeder/mobile is attractive, easy to maintain. You can mix the food up in your kitchen with water and sugar....I am thrilled with the product and the fun from it!

Very cheap very unstable and no matter what you do they leak.

I ordered two of these and I love mine but the 2nd one I sent to my sister broke at a weld site within two hours after she hung it up. I did ask her to send it back and she is still waiting for the new one to arrive. I have had lots of compliments on it's unique appearance. I haven't seen any hummingbirds eating from it yet but they are going after other feeders in the yard. I am hoping they find it soon. Amazon was wonderful on the return of my sisters bird feeder, sending it back was easy using the on line return system.

I have plenty of hummers at this feeder, but it doesn't allow them to rest when eating. If the wind blows, it is difficult for the hummer to get anything from it. It is definately pretty to look at in the yard, but cleaning it proved to be a chore!

I received a gift certificate in mid December for my birthday, ordered this item, the shipping date was pushed out several times, this week it was bumped again with the expected possible date to ship now April 29.
Very disappointed I never received it. I see so many others received it and have great reviews-where was mine?

I've had this feeder for about 2 years. The hummers have no trouble finding the ports and drinking the nectar. I also think the little wire circle hangers on the 3 glass containers are rather flimsy & cheap for the price--and they rust. It does look pretty hanging from my dwarf magnolia. Biggest problem: One of my containers fell during high winds and shattered & I can't find a replacement. Any site that sells the feeder should also sell replacement containers as it doesn't look near as pretty with only 2 hangers.

Everything shipped well and what not, but as it turned out, as my gift recipient was piecing the product together she discovered that one of the glass feeder jars was broken. We had to glue it back together. Other than the defectiveness, it really does look lovely hanging in the tree in our front yard.

As far as the variety of hummingbird feeders go, this is in a category all its own. You got your basic plastic molded crappy looking feeders, your glass bouble oddly resembling a hanging easter egg type feeders, then this lovely mobile, which even empty in winter makes a lovely display.

This solved my problem of ants in the feeder... had it hanging on our deck all summer long, and they never got to it! This feeder is also very easy to clean, and because it is made of glass does not pick of that aging, hazy appearance. I highly recommend it to anyone.

I got this feeder for my husband for Christmas last year, and recently purchased another as a house gift. It is lovely even when not filled, and is sturdy even though it looks delicate. We have had several storms with hard wind and rain, and had no problems. The glass globes are easy to fill and clean. It has not attracted many hummingbirds, but as many as the nearby red flowers. We did not notice any bees until late October, and then only a few.

I have had great results with this feeder all summer! The hummers found it immediately and many, many hummers come here to feed.
The multiple ports seem to make the difference, and the glass orbs are easy to remove, fill, and keep very clean; I prefer the glass to plastic. This feeder is whimsical, fun to look at, and as for our local hummers; they seem to love it!

I just received the feeder this morning and hung it up in my yard. I put sugar water in the globes, and had a hummingbird feed from it within just 2 hours of hanging it up! I was impressed. BUT, this feeder is not as cute as shown in the picture. It is actually big and bulky. Also, the construction is sub-par. Looks kinda cheap and plasticy.

I bought this product for myself a couple of years ago and love it. It's attractive and it does attract "hummers". Liked it so much that I bought one as an anniversary gift. Unfortunately when it arrived, one of the glass feeders was broken. It is being used that way, with the two remaining feeders, and my brother and his wife still think its great (though I was unhappy at sending a broken gift!).

We were so frustrated that we tried everything to keep the woodpeckers from bothering the hummingbirds. It is illegal to shoot them. The woodpeckers kept chasing and scaring the hummingbirds from our yard. This would attract other species to "come and find out what was going on". Nothing would work. As soon as a hummingbird would land on the other feeder we had or attempt to come near it, a woodpecker would come and chase it away, even, taking hold on the side of our house to "watch over" the feeder. They are very territorial. We asked for advice and everyone kept telling us to feed the woodpeckers at a different location and it would stop. This was not a good resolve for us. When my son found this mobile hummingbird feeder, it fixed the problem as the other birds were too heavy and could not even land on it! They cannot get a good hold on the spheres. Their beaks are too big for the holes on this one and as they flutter to try to drink, they get tired and give up! The hummingbirds don't seem to mind that they need to stay fluttering while drinking and when the feeder gets empty they whistle at us to fill it! What a resolve and they are beautiful as well. We hung ours from the overhang on the house and it works great. Now we can enjoy the hummingbirds while the other birds do their job which is to eat the insects!

I recently purchased this feeder because of the great deal Amazon had on it. When I received it, I filled the containers and hung it. To my horror, all three contained constantly leaked the sugary liguid all over my porch attacting large numbers of ants. The containers would not seal properly. I would not recommend this item to anyone. Instead, I purchased several Hummzinger feeders, a much better design, and am completely satisfied with these.

I sent this to my sister, because she lives in the mountains. I figured she'd have hummingbirds, and she does! She hung up the mobile just because it was artsy and pretty, not intending to fill it up. But along came the hummingbirds and they were grumpy because the globes were empty! She filled it up and now she always has hummingbirds! She says it is important to carefully remove the globes and clean properly about every other week, or the sugar-water the hummingbirds love will ferment.

Although this feeder looks great, our hummingbirds didn't like it much, and refused to feed from it. To add insult to injury, two of the globes leaked.

It looks beautiful..... much more interesting than any other feeder I have seen. It did take a while for our local hummingbirds to really understand it..... about 2 full months of nothing, but now, they understand and enjoy it. We see birds eating from it several times a day now. If your birds don't seem into it, I'd just give it some time, and at least it'll look nice in the meantime!

This has been a terrific purchase. In a few short weeks the hummingbirds began using the feeder. It is spectacular to watch these amazing creaters.

I bought a feeder for my mother-in-law for Mother's Day and had to have one of my own. Mine is hanging from the top center of an arbor, and the hummers just LOVE it. They are emptying it very quickly, but I haven't seen any drips under any of the globes and NO BEES! We have had a couple of storms since I hung it, and nothing has fallen - just be careful that you hang it securely and be careful when you refill and re-hang the bulbs. My sister-in-law was so taken with it that I am ordering one for a Christmas gift for her.

I received this Hummingbird Feeder for my birthday two years ago and I really love it! It is so beautiful hanging from my tree, it is like having "yard art" in my backyard. The hummingbirds love it! I always have at least four or five birds at it in the mornings (or it is just one bird who likes to chase off the others, I'm not sure). I have had no problems with it and am very glad I chose it with my Amazon birthday gift certificate.

This is the best hummingbird feeder that we have found; in fact, this is our secohnd one!!

I'm surprised to read that people weren't satisfied with this feeder! Mine has been hanging from the gutter outside my kitchen window for the past 4 years. (Fastened with heavy wire)It's rarely below freezing here so the glass is not stressed in that way - although ice has formed in the bulbs occasionally without harm. I have a flock of hummingbirds at it year round. When the sugar syrup runs out the birds perch on the mobile and wait expectantly for me to refill it. (I'd never seen them sit still before this!) I've had no problems with the wire rings, despite keeping the feeder pretty full almost all the time. Replacement bulbs are available for those who've had breakage - I've seen them in birdfeeder stores. I'm buying one of these feeders for my cousin who admired mine greatly at Thanksgiving while the birds supervised our cooking at the window(hope they didn't recognize the turkey was a bird!)

It's beautiful, it's functional...what more can you ask for.I've tried many but this one is by far the best.Three glass feeders..broke one and called the company..they sent out a new one at no charge.On a scale of 1-10...it's an 11!!

The hummingbirds had trouble figuring it out - but not the bees. It is' however, pretty.

Worked great from day one. Was so good I my neighbor had me buy one for her. Packed away for this year but I'll break it out early next year.

I used mine for two years now and it is as pretty as first day. When it first arrived, my husband thought that it would be hard to attract humming birds because they have to hover to get the sugar water. However, they like it as much as my other feeder, which is shaped like a disk and has foot rest for their tiny feet. I had to switch the red bottoms around so that all bottles seal tight but I always managed after each cleaning. It is very strong - survived last year's hurricane.I bought a couple of them last year as gifts for friends. They all used in their garden and loved it. It is a steal for $12 (I bought mine at much higher prices) and I am buying a few more for gifts.
