Garmin 4.3-Inch Carrying Case

I was somewhat skeptical when I first looked at this because a lot of people said that when they put their nav unit in it would switch it on. I have the Garmin 765T which has an on/off switch on top. I quickly realized that actually if you're smart enough to slide this in a certain way then there is no way the garmin will turn on. Anyways, it is somewhat cheaply made but then again I'm not showing it off to anyone so I don't know why that matters. I use it so when I take it off the dash and put it in the glove compartment or trunk I don't want the screen to get scratched. For that it works perfect. It is snug at first but loosens up quickly but not enough to wear it's too loose. It still works great

The case is overly snug and accidentally turns the device on/off when holstering the GPS. In addition, it doesn't provide a means to store the cords and receiver when not in use - inconvenient. It was necessary to buy a hard shell case to get the needed features to adequately secure and transport the GPS when not in use.

I ordered this product for use with my Nuvi 855, however this model hardly fits inside. Putting the GPS in isn't nearly as complicated as taking it out. The sides have little give so if your GPS is large enough for a snug, secure fit, it will likely be too large to easily remove. I have stretched mine out as much as possible to make it useable, but it is still a bit of a challenge to remove and I managed to accidentally tear a thread or two, so I'm not expecting this case to last me very long.

This case is a good quality case and serves it's purpose well. The only drawback is the Garmin is hard to remove as the fit is quite tight. I am hoping with use it will "loosen" up a bit.

This is a simple and attractive carrying case for a Garmin GPS device. The most important thing it does is protect your Garmin. Also the case is easier to hold in your hand than the Garmin itself - fabric over metal. This is a solid value.

I wanted a case for my Garmin 285w that was form fitting (read: not bulky) - pretty much protect the screen and unit from scratches. This fit the bill. This item is not padded - perfect for a purse. At least one other reviewer found that it can turn on the unit - I found this out the hard way (thankfully had the power cord in my car.) It's easy to work around once you realize the flaw; just press down on the bottom when you're sliding it in.

The case allows the gps to fit in snugly and will not just 'fall' or 'slip' out. Provides great protection for my investment in my new Garmin Novi 285WT. Offers much protection even when carrying my gps in my pocket mixed with coins, keys and other items.

I liked everything about the carrying case except for the fact that it was not included in the price of the unit. I think it is unfortunate that Garmin doesn't include it as part of the package.

It is a nice solid case. It is a little bit of a tight fit. You have to be careful which direction you put the GPS in. It is so tight that it will flip the power switch on the top if you go the wrong way.

Nice compact case for my Garmin. Great price! The order came promptly and was in good condition. I was pleased with the case.

Fits the Nuvi exactly. Protects the screen and body from scratches from keys and other items in the purse.

I received this case with the Garmin unit I bought a few years ago. It has been in the bottom of my junk drawer since that time. I thought a need for it would arise some day but without a top that closes what good is it? It's not like a cell phone case you attach to your belt where you're gonna whip out the unit at a moments notice. Heck, I'd want a top on a cell phone case too!

Again, this case is permanently open at the top so the unit can fall out and there is no padding at all. I don't even understand the USE of this case. I wouldn't use it to hold the unit under my car seat or inside my purse because it's open so the unit could get damaged by falling out or by grit getting on the screen since there is no top cover. Also a pen or fingernail file could get to the unit and damage it.

I think this is just one of those CHEAP PIECES OF CRAP they include to make you think you're really getting a good deal on the unit. I can't believe so many people actually paid almost $15 for this case though I'm sure they thought Garmin would sell a good product. You pay even more then $15 by the time you include shipping ~ what a jip!

Unless you plan to use the Garmin instead of your smart phone, you don't need this item. It's useless if you're only going to use the Garmin in your car.

I purchased this Garmin Carrying Case along with my Garmin Nuvi 1390T. I feel that it was pricey for a very basic, no-frills carrying case. However, it does fit my GPS unit snuggly, while allowing me to easily get the unit in and out. The soft interior does protect the unit's screen from scratches, and the case is small enough that I can slip it into a coat or jacket pocket.

The shipping was prompt. The case arrived within a week, as part of an order with free shipping.

In sum, I feel that the Garmin Carrying Case essentially does what it is advertised to do, but it was overpriced.

What can I say? It is a good quality case. It works. No problems. Had one for my Nuvi 650 so I go one for my wife.

This was part of a gift for my husband and he was very happy to receive the set of 3 items. It arrived in perfect condition and in time for Christmas.

A must. We never leave it in the car because people in our area burgle them. With the case it can go into my wife's purse and not get scratched up.

If you never plan to remove your nuvi from your car, then do not buy this case as you'll never use it. We use it when we're going to fly somewhere and then rent a car. The case affords the nuvi's screen some protection during transit, such as when in a backpack or something. The case itself is of decent construction; there aren't any frills but it does its job capably enough.

I had this case for more than two years and liked it a lot. It was sturdy on outside, soft inside and provided a perfect protection for my Garmin Nuvi 650. A couple of months ago I lost it on one of my trips and ordered a replacement from Amazon.

The new case arrived very fast and looked exactly like the old one, with only one exception - it did not fit. I could not get my Nuvi inside the case, then, when I finally forced it in, I could not get it out. My guess was that it was sewn too tight. It took me a couple of days of working its insides with a screwdriver handle in my spare time, until the Nuvi started going in and out comparatively easy. The case still feels tighter that it should be but I can leave with that. That is why I gave it only the three stars. The quality definitely deserves five.

this case is a perfect fit to protect your gps in your glove box...what? you leave it on your window or dash?...keep in mind that a gps unit is one of the most sought after items to steal from your auto.

The Garmin 4.3 inch carrying case is really a top quality product. I was worried that is was a cheap made, but when it arrived I was surprised to see a well made little case. I like the case overall, although I wish I purchased a zipper closure case. You see I carry my GPS around for travel and take it in and out of my brief case. With one end open, I am concerned that my GPS unit will get scratched. However, for someone who just wants to protection from the car to their house this product is really nice.

What can I say. The case is a perfect fit for the Garmin 285WT I purchased. I recommend this case to protect the Garmin and its screen when carrying the unit. It should come with the Navigation system and not have to be bought separately considering the price of the system.

Item not received due ONLY to UPS shipping. UPS would not accept my PO Box as my shipping address so I gave them my street address. Then UPS took the package to the US Post Office, as part of their reciprocal shipping arrangement, and the US Post Office could not deliver it to me at the street address because I don't have a mailbox, only a PO Box. The US Post Office doesn't personally know me and know that I have a PO Box. Therefore, the item was returned to the shipper. I WAS given full credit for my purchase, including shipping, approximately 30 days after purchase.

I purchased this case for my newly purchased Garmin Nuvi 765t and would buy it again because it does what its supposed to protect the unit. Albeit it defiantly cost more then it should I really think this should be a $10 item but unfortunately i you want to protect your GPS you need to overpay for a case.

Overall if your paranoid and/or just like to protect your device and not want to worry about the screen getting smashed or damaged by other sharp things then this should work fine for you and I would recommend this though I only wish the retail price was $10 on amazon you get close to this so its a pretty good deal.

I received this case with my Garmin 265wt at a wholesale store. This is one of the lowest quality cases I have ever seen. For free it's alright with me. It will hold me over until my nicer case comes in the mail which includes a cleaning cloth and screen saver for the same price. I wonder if someone pocketed these out Garmin boxes and are cashing in.

The hard plastic on both sides of the case protect the screen from direct impact. The open end is open putting your product at risk from spills or rain. Stores and I'm sure Amazon have cases which are compact and water resistant that blow this one away. I suppose you could put a stylist in the pocket or some money or clip a pocket knife or small pen on it. Fake leather very cheap feeling.

How this got 4 stars is beyond me.

I use this for long term storage, but most of the time it is more annoying than useful.

My Garmin Nuvi 255W fits perfectly and snugly into the case. It provides good protection for the unit while stored in the console or backpack, which is what I wanted it for.

This case was a good add on and fits perfectly on my new 765T GPS.

I have a case like this for my smaller Garmin and I really think I will like the case with the flap much better. It will be much easier to open the flap, than to pull the nuvi out and then put it back in.

I bought this case along with a Garmin Nuvi 855 (see separate review). Believe it or not, I put the 855 into the case (VERY difficult), then worked for about 15 minutes trying to get the darn thing OUT of the case! I assumed that, being new, it just required some "stretching" to accommodate the device. WRONG - after 2 days in the case, I still couldn't get it out. Finally went to Best Buy and bought a zippered Lowepro case for the device, and threw the Garmin case in the trash. I think this case might work with the newer version of Nuvis, which are thinner than the 8XX series Nuvi. If you buy an older model Garmin Nuvi, pass on this case and get something different.

Works well, does what it is suppose to do - protect the GPS while carrying it to and from vehicle. It is not a hard cover rugged case. Fits my Nuvi 765t perfect.

It's a good quality case, but expected it to be part of the navigator package. I'd recommend this case as it has hard walls to protect the touch screen.

This carrying case is just fine for the GPS but only protects it and not the other things you have to support the GPS. Would have been nice to get a GPS bag that carries the cords, etc. As I said before, this works okay.

This case provides good protection from scratches when removing your GPS unit from the car. It's a very snug fit, so only the actual unit will fit. It has a small pocket that will hold one or two business cards. It's vinyl but a very high quality of vinyl. In fact it almost looks like leather. Nice looking item with a purpose.

The item is as stated, but shipping cost almost as much, would have been cheaper to buy at the store.

This case is perfect for the wide screen Nuvi. It holds the unit snugly and has a soft non marking sleeve material and firm holding force. There is one side pocket that will almost hold a business card.

It does what it's suppose to do, protects my GPS, nothing special other than that.

Ideal for long term storage and protection. Not good if you need your GPS often since you have to remove all the mounting devices/hardware before inserting into the sleeve. Zippered hard cases are better for storage if you use your GPS frequently.

Nice, convenient carrying case. I stretched it out to enlarge it a bit and it works easier. Turns on once in a while upon insertion. Who cares! Nice usable product.

IMO this item is definitely a must have item if you use your GPS in multiple vehicles like I do. Considering the price point of the typical Garmin device this little pouch should be included with the original purchase. I guess it's just another way for them to eek a few more dollars out of the consumer. And it is really just a pouch, nothing fancy, but it does the job fine enough. I would like to see other options, such as a larger, actual case, that would fit the power cord and one of the friction dash mounts, as well.

Too bad this item doesn't come with the GPS. I am sure it will keep the unit from inadvertant scratches on the screen.

I love this case. It's simple in design, sturdy, just the right size for my Garmin Nuvi 780. It protects my GPS from getting scratched when I'm not using it and fits into my pocketbook without taking up a lot of space.

I like the case. The screen is protected and the case is tight enough so that the GPS cannot fall out. A definite plus. So often things are too big and the article slips out.

Worthy accessory for Nuvi wide screen GPS devices. This case has a soft cloth interior to protect against scratches, and allows for easy removal...while the collapsible sides hold the GPS snugly in place. The exterior offers a satisfying grippy feel, and the Garmin logo is a plus.

Keeps the unit snug without it being difficult to insert or remove. Bought it in a bundle along with the Nuvi 265WT. Excellent.

This carrying case for Garmin GPS navigators is very smooth to the touch and it clearly has enough room with some inside padding for my Garmin navigator. It seems well constructed and I like that. It also comes with a thin side pocket.

However, this is definitely not the best purchase I could have made. The case is open at the top (or one side, whatever way you look at it) and therefore you must be very careful about placing the GPS inside this case and then carrying the GPS inside. The GPS could easily slip out and perhaps fall onto a hard, concrete sidewalk making your day a rotten one indeed.

This is not the worst carrying case I've ever seen; but keep in mind that this carrying case is best used when you are carrying the GPS inside something that is closed, like a piece of carry-on luggage for an airplane ride or perhaps a lady's purse. The case and the GPS inside might also fit in a side pocket of a laptop computer carry case. If you can still make use of this case under those conditions you'll be satisfied. It's not for just carrying around any old way; there no strap for you to attach it to your belt and that's a disappointment, too.
