Garmin Beanbag for Portable Friction Mount for Garmin GPS Units (Beanbag Only - Mount not Included)

I use this bag with the streetpilot 7200 and it works great. though the weight of the huge 7200 sometimes moves the bag a little but not to the point the bag slides or the GPS falls over.

This is an awesome product. It is convenient to use, does not slide on the dash and is easily put away so that sticky finger don't get to it.

when i bought this it did not say "MOUNT NOT INCLUDED"...like it does now!!!!! but amazon cust service was great and refunded full amount. ordered mount for 17.95 + ship from another company

I know that the add said mount not included.I just didn't know it would be almost impossible to find a mount for my 650 as of yet.So the bean bag sits here unused..Richard Garza

As you'd expect, this unit does exactly what you'd expect of it, no more, no less...BUT...MAKE SURE YOU ORDER THE BEANBAG SPECIFIC TO YOUR GARMIN. These are not interchangeable. I suggest you go to the Garmin website and make sure you are ordering the correct model Beanbag for your GPS unit.
When our beanbag arrived, the mount included with our StreetPilot c550 would not fit. I had read a review by another poster who said Garmin provided him with the proper mount at no charge.
I went to the Garmin site and submitted an email stating my mount wouldn't fit. After three days, when I didn't get a reply, I called their 800 number. The woman who responded was fairly snippy, telling me I should have purchased the beanbag directly from Garmin (price was 25% higher than Amazon) and suggested I return my beanbag to Amazon and order the proper one on the site.
Amazon issued a return authorization immediately (as usual...even crediting me for my return freight charges!) and as soon as I returned it, got a response to my initial Garmin email, from a very nice, supportive gentleman in customer service, who told me a replacement mount was being sent to me free of charge.
Draw your own conclusion...or better yet, just take the time to make sure you're ordering the right unit.

I already have one and liked it so much I bought one for my husbands Garmin GPS also.

The base of the c530 mount is 2.5 inches. The docking station of this beanbag is less than 2 inches. Doesn't fit. Now I notice that the description has changed...no longer mentions my garmin model.

I have the 7200 Street Pilot with the 7" screen. The mount that came with this unit was for dash only, and it used adhesive for this purpose. I later had to pull the mount off when I needed to move the unit temporarily to another vehicle, and I cringed as I peeled it off, hoping I wouldn't damage the dashboard.

The problem is in the past now with this beanbag mount. It works very well, even with this relatively large unit 7200 unit. I saw some reviews that said the beanbag would slide in some cases. My beanbag unit's friction is so good that it NEVER slides, but if my vehicle pitches wildly, such as on a rutty road, the beanbag mount will tip over. This is rarely a problem since one would not normally be navigating on such a road surface.

I AM VERY PLEASED WITH THIS BEANBAG MOUNT

Be sure you want only the beanbag without the mount-- Unless you've lost only the bag, this is not much use without the appropriate mount.

Does not fit Garmin c580. The mount on the Garmin is to big. Garmon sent me a replacement mount. Great product if you need to use it in several cars. Also easy to hide from view when car is parked.

I ordered the Garmin Beanbag assuming my Garmin NUVI 360 would attach to it. When I received the Beanbag I determined the GPS had no way of attaching the GPS unit. If YOUR COMPANY is going to sell the beanbag you should make everyone aware a "special" device is required. I had to contact Garmin with my problem and they had to research to find which "mount" was required and then they made me give my VISA card number so the could charge me .95 cents for the mount. It took another week to obtain the mount because it was shipped through UPS. All that could have been avoided had you told me initially that I needed a special mount in order to use the beanbag. I wouldn't be apprehensive in the future purchasing from you had you been more alert to my needs with the beanbag and sold me all necessary equipment first time around.

Be very careful - this is just the bean bag (for those people who break into your car to steal the bean bag (leaving the mount and GPS unit behind?!?!)

This is a must have for any Garmin/Mio C310x owner. I purchased this to replace a crappy suction cup mount for my Mio C310x. Following some simple instructions I was able to use my existing mount piece and connect it to the bean bag mount. So now I have a fully adjustable, compact, and easily movable mount for my GPS. Heavy in weight and won't slide around. I would recommend making sure the dashboard is clear of any dust or even invest in one of those jelly sticky pads they sell at Walmart for extra friction to ensure 0 slidage.

Great Beanbag Mount. When they say "Mount Not Included" It's the goose-neck mounting bracket that connects the GPS unit to the bean bag mount base, that is not included.

Made a mistake in ordering a REPLACEMENT beanbag portable friction mount for my Garmin GPS order went throught with no problems 17th St Photo shipped the item no problem However there was a minor problem a replacement beanag is just that beanbag only No Mount. I wanted the whole unit. So I returned the item and reordered the correct item. My mistake unit costed me an extra 20.00 postage and extra cost of the unit.

One reviewer talks about this mount sliding off the dash during 'hard' cornering...well, it should! This is not a Nascar mount. I have owned both a Streetpilot III+ and a Streetpilot 2620 and used the beanbag mount exclusively with both units. I have never had to 'baby' the throttle or steering wheel while driving and I find this to be a relatively secure mount. The friction base is up to the task if you are driving normally, and bumps in the road have never presented a problem for either of my units; but these units are not nearly as light as some of the newer ones and would logically be less likely to jostle around than a featherweight. My job requires me to do a lot of driving (in excess of 30,000 miles per year), so I have plenty of opportunities to find faults with my gps or its mounting system. If the mount had been giving me trouble I would have abandoned it a long time ago. I still have the stick-on dash mounts that came with my units, but will never soil my dashboard by sticking them on because the beanbag works so well. Incidentally, I just ordered a Garmin 7200 with 7" screen and you know which mount I'll be using with it...!!!

The title pretty well says it all. This mount simply will not fit the Garmin Nuvi 200.

I formerly placed my Garmin Nuvi on my front window below my rear-view mirror. The suction cup would eventually break loose and my Garmin would fall to the floor.

This beanbag is perfect for stability and ease-of-placement on my Prius' dashboard. My Nuvi is as solidly planted as if it were permanently placed there. Sudden stops or turns doesn't displace this beanbag.

For a fantastic alternative to the suction cup, this beanbag is perfect.

Make sure that you have the Garmin Automotive Mount for Nuvi (010-10723-04).

This version does not come with the mounting arm. You have to buy the version that costs three dollars more to get the mounting arm. The other complaint I have is that I originally bought the C330 and the tri-pod friction mount. The C330 crapped out and, as a discontinued item, they replaced it with a Nuvi 260. The tri-pod friction mount has the capacity to slide in a new arm, but Garmin doesn't make or sell one. I may try to self fabricate one out of protest that they stranded my investment in what is now a useless friction mount.

Do they even sell the arms for these things separately?

The original beanbag I ordered was the wrong one, but this one works fine. I like it, although it isn't as large, soft and flexible as I had pictured in my mind. Very happy with the purchase however. I use it with the Garmin 650, which I also enjoy!

Well I bought this to go with my NUVI 260, I was assured it would do the job.
I'm sure it would if I could attach the thing to my GPS.
I was sold it and it doesn't have the correct fit.

I guess I should have researched a bit more and not taken the sellers word.

This didn't fit my Garmin 660, but after contacting Garmin, it turned out that I didn't receive all the needed Garmin parts. They sent them to me, and NOW this beanbag works just beautifully. It slides NOWHERE, which is a relief from holding my breath with the other mounting ideas I tried. It sits anywhere you place it securely!

Works great. Easy to attach the GPS and easy to memove it. Stays in place when set down on the dash. Highly recommended.

The items arrived quickly, but not as advvertised. The "bean bag" came with a window mount and not with the mount needed for the bag. I wrote to the company and they told me that the best I could do is get a refund.

I suspect that this mount will work fine, once I get all the "additional parts" that I need for it. I bought a NUVI 660 here and wanted the dash friction mount for it. The Amazon advert said "this is alll you will need" however it isn't there is another mount part [Garmin Automotive Mount for Nuvi 660 (010-10823-02)] that is required. It's not that I have to pay for an additional part, it's just that I had to go through the entire process of ordering and such to get the other pieces I need. Seems sort of like buying a car and afterwards they tell you "oh, you wanted tires with that?"

Even though I was skeptical that this mount would not stay in place I didn't want a permanent mount for my GPS. So far during sharp cornering the GPS has stayed in place and I have no complaints. It is really nice to be able to remove from dash when I leave the car to avoid attracting thefts. I can also move from vehicle to vehicle easily. Now my only question is how long the rubber will last and will dirt affect it's ability.

Two times I ordered and send back the Garmin Portable Friction Mount because the arm that attaches to the GPS unit and also to the mount was ot included in the package. I could understand missing one time, but not twice. This part was apparently shipped from Garmin, which was even a greater surprise that it did not have all the parts.
Now, the picture with this questionaire does not show the mounting arm, however, when the order was placed, the arm was clearly attached to the mount.
I finally went to Best Buy where I paided more for the product, but it had all parts included.

It took a fair amount of reading to figure out what I needed to get my new Map60CSX to work on the car. A product line that looked like a solution was not longer available and I couldn't find a picture showing the adaptor was separate from the mount (which was alluded to in some descriptions, but poorly explained).

This works great. The footprint is small, but when I have the unit in place, it doesn't budge. This will get used for highway travel, so no issues with off road bumps and such.

I bought the Nuvi350 and this friction mount... When I tried to install
the Nuvi I found out that you need Automotive mount for this. The mount comes with oblonged disk that fits in the friction mount..The friction mount doesn't tell you that you need the mount to go with it,I think the friction mount should state that it goes with the automotive mount .The whole unit works very good though thats my only riff....

I was having a lot of difficulty with the holder that came with the original Garmin. It kept falling off the dashboard or window nad kept hitting my legs. I stopped using it entirely because of this problem. This friction mount is great. I bought 2 of them and recommended one to my friend and she bought one. We all think it is great. Glad I found it.

I have the Garmin Nuvi 350 device and ordered this mount thinking it would work with my device based on the Amazon description of the product. The first time I ordered this I received without the arm that attaches to the GPS unit. I returned it and had a replacement shipped. The replacement came with the same problem...only contained the bean bag base portion and again no arm. Apparently, this is for some other unit because it does not work as it is shipped. I will attempt to find this somewhere else. Fool me once...shame on you! Fool me twice...shame on me!

I got the Garmin Portable Friction Mount for Christmas. My husband originally used the sort that has a suction cup for his and this is much better. We both use these now. I like the fact that it stays where I put it and when I park in a public place I can easily move it out of sight. No obvious sign that I have a navigation system in my car.

Buy this. You won't be disappointed.

This mount comes with no instructions or parts to attach your Garmin. I ordered the first one and returned it due to lack of parts. The second one came without parts as well. Attempts to reach the Garmin help desk were futile, was always on perma hold. Would be curious if others have had the same bad experience.

This is the beanbag ONLY. It does not include the necessary mounting arm and is useless without it. If you just want to replace your beanbag, this is fine. If you don't already have a mounting arm (your GPS unit does not come with the arm), you need to order the bean bag and arm together (part #10-10908-00).

I bought this for our Nuvi 350 after reading reviews on this site. However, when I received it I realized I needed another part (correct arm for mount) to make it fit. I believe this is a great mount but be sure and buy the exact version for the GPS you have. After a lot of searching, have located the part number and have ordered the solution, but way more trouble than necessary.

I bought a GPS Street Pilot C340 and a garmin beanbag mount with a handle which does not fit. Now I have to return it but the problem is I want a friction beanbag mount for the dash but all this confusion about buying another parft??? can someone please help and advise the correct mount to buy for my unit. Do I need the beanbag with or without the handle or no handle and buy another part. This is very misleading. I bought mine from Bestbuy and the guy told me it was for all GPS units but clearly it is not as there is no hole in the back of my GPS for it to push through the handle on the beanbag?? So far, much to my surprise the suction mount works perfectly but its a pain having to take it on and off every time you leave the vehicle and in the dark it doersnt clip on very easily. Love the GPS, so far the beanbag is the problem??

As others have noted (and I wish I read first) this is only the replacement bean bag for the friction mount and not the whole unit. If you have the windshield mount, that only gives you one of two other pieces you need: It gives the part that snaps to the unit itself and receives the ball arm, but the windshield ball arm does not fit this beanbag. You need a separate ball arm piece. So buy the (010-10908-00)that is the whole thing you need (if you already have a dash or windshield mount).

So on top of this I called Amazon- said I shouldn't be responsible for return cost if the product literature is in error-- noted that many other had complained as well and were told the literature would be updated........ he said he would send me a return label and when I got it the return reason stated: "I just don't want it anymore" and informed my I would hae return costs deducted from my refund since the "error was not their fault." Sooooo another hour and 2 phone calls later -- including one return call from a supervisor at 10:40 at night (!)-- they processed my return in a way that I will not be charged. I know my time and yours is more valuable than this. I have had nothing but bad experiences with Amazon and its vendors so this is my last purchase. Good luck.

Not compatible with the Street Pilot c580 although the description recommends it for the GPS. The one that works with the GPS, also sold through Amazon is:

The 530 and 550 have a round base. This unit has a slot that is oval.

This product was not compatible with my Garmin 350. They need to specify exactly which models can be used with this mount.

This mount is very convenient and easy to use, but it slides quite a bit.
It can be distracting and dangerous as once the whole unit fell in my lap while driving.

For anyone who uses their Nuvi in multiple vehicles, this is a wonderful accessory. I have used mine in a 4X4 pickup and the family car for the last seven months. It has NEVER slid from its position on the dash. You folks who cite this "problem" are cornering too fast for public roads (a common problem in my humble opinion) and ought to keep everyone's safety in mind.

One can easily insert and remove the Nuvi (for theft prevention) while the mount remains in the vehicle. If you attach the DC charger to the mount, charging begins automatically whenever you insert the GPS.

I really like the fact that I don't have to worry about a suction cup failing or adhesives leaving marks on my dash. If you share this concern and drive responsibly, you will love the friction mount. The only thing better than having this unit would be having one for each vehicle. Hey! I'm glad I just thought of that.

The Friction Mount is just what I needed for my Garmin GPS unit. It works great on different surfaces. I use it on my Motor Home and my Tow car

Be careful which item you order. This model does not include the mounting arm, and you cannot buy it separately. There's another model (10-10908-00) that includes the mounting arm. This is a very good accessory for the Garmin GPS, the only thing that I don't get is why was it sold with the GPS unit? I know, duh, they make more money this way. But, they could charge more for it, can't they?

It was not clear that this unit needs another part to connect it to the unit. There is a neck that snaps into the dash mount that is not included. You cannot use the neck that comes with the garmin unit. So fat the mount is useless. i am trying to get a part from Garmin directly.

I purchased a Nuvi for our delivery trucks. The included suction cup soon became useless after a few months from constant changing of vehicles. Thanks to a purchase suggestion from Amazon, I discovered the friction mount. It is perfect, if the Nuvi must be used frequently in several vehicles, or simply removed from a vehicle often to prevent theft.
