[+] 10.0 Great Case!
This case looks great, and it fit my Garmin Etrex Venture HC perfectly. The price through Amazon was very good as well, so all in all I am a happy camper (literally).

[+] 8.0 solid case
Like I said, it's a solid well made case, but took away one stare because it blocks the mini usb hookup.

[+] 2.0 wont fit 60CXS
I order a 60CXS Garmin GPS and the Amazon website suggested this case for it which I ordered but it doesn't fit the GPS.

[+] 10.0 Motorcycle tough
I made a mount to attach this to my handlebars. Four years and 12000 miles later on a dual sport on off road application, and it's still like new. Best of all, it isolates the unit from vibration and bumps by allowing some movement. Hard mounts have been known to destroy GPS units in this environment.

[+] 6.0 It's Just OK
While the carrying case does fit the eTrex Vista HCx, I find it hard to operate the joystick. Also, when clipped to my belt, the thickness of the velcro closure is irritating. It would have been better if the closure were at the front of the unit instead of at the back.

[+] 6.0 OK but not useful for me
This case is ok, nothing wrong with it. It's a lot easier to use the GPS out of the case so I keep it out most of the time. The standard strap is more useful for me. Should have gotten a simple carrying case instead.

[+] 10.0 Great Product
I bought this case for my Garmin eTrex and am glad I did. The case fits perfectly, allows full use of the buttons, and looks good too. Another feature I like is the sturdy clip that secures my eTrex to my belt when hunting.

What you see is what you get. I have it now for 3 years, with no problems. My GPS has been since day one inside this case and it looks like brand new.

[+] 6.0 Useful for protecting your GPS, but not that great
This carrying case is great for protecting your GPS receiver (a Vista HCx in my case) from scratches, especially on the screen, but it does have a problem that the plastic covering the screen is very reflective, so I usually end up removing the carrying case under bright sunlight to be able to read the screen. I think this is a good product, but having the need to remove it sometimes defeats its purpose. Better go to a store and see it for yourself to see if its going to be a problem for you.

[+] 10.0 Good Value Carrying Case
This carrying case worked well for me. It fits my eTrex snugly. While the display can be seen through the window, I wouldn't say it is easy to operate in the case which I leave clipped to my belt. I remove the GPS for use.

[+] 8.0 Good carrier
The carrying case fits well, and the window is clear enough to allow easy viewing of the screen. The clip is very stout, allowing the unit to be carried on a belt or strap. My only complaint, and it is a very minor one, would be the way the case seals with the Velcro. I think it would be better to have the top fold over the back, not under, as it is designed currently.

[+] 10.0 Case history
I tried helium balloons, rare earth magnets and suturing it to my hip, but the best way for my GPS to be held conveniently at waist level is this dandy little faux Naugahyde case. Try as it may, gravity does not manage to pull it earthward unless it gets my whole carcass in the bargain.

[+] 6.0 Carry Case
Easy on & off. However it does interfer with some of the buttons on the GPS. Keeps the screen from getting scratched while in bag or not in use. Also needs to be removed to connect to computer to download.

[+] 10.0 Perfect for my Garmin
I am just beginning to use my Garmin GPS for geo-caching and really needed something I could use to carry it in. This carrying case fit mine perfectly and is snug so it is not sliding out of place and all the buttons are able to be accessed. It is made very well and looks like it will last a long time. I am very pleased.

[+] 10.0 Does what it is supposed to do
This case is exactly what it appears to be. I did not notice any loss of signal while using it. There is a bit more glare on the screen in direct light but any time you put plastic in front of plastic that is going to happen unless it is treated with anti-glare coating. Works great and worth the small price tag.

No problems. Fits our Venture HC perfectly, feels nice in the hand and protects from screen scratches. Would like a better lanyard. But not a huge issue.

[+] 6.0 Good, But....
Due to the small size of the screen on the GPS, the clear plastic on the case seems to give a LOT of glare making the screen hard to see. Also, due to the design, if the case shifts on the unit at all, it interferes with the joystick.

[+] 6.0 Okay case
First off, this case should be included in the cost of the eTrex ... having to pay extra strikes me as wrong!

That said, this case is okay. I took it hiking with me, and while it protected my eTrex, I don't trust the case to hold the unit safely. The velcro connects the top flap behind the eTrex. The eTrex fits in fairly snugly ... almost too much so. I could see the eTrex sliding out of the case on the trail, and me hiking off leaving my costly unit behind.

Would I buy it again? Yes, if only to avoid the hassle of searching for a better case.

I'll use the case, but always carry it in my pocket ... just to be safe.

[+] 10.0 Sturdy case to protect your investment
The case is well made and fits my eTrex Venture HC like a glove. The belt clip is snug so I don't worry about it falling off. One of the reasons I bought this is because I had read the eTrex's screen was prone to scratching easily. The heavy gage plastic over the screen seems to eliminate that potential problem.

[+] 4.0 Not too useful as it comes
This case isn't too useful as it comes out of the box because the little plastic window is made of ultra-soft plastic that will scratch immediately through normal use, and then you'll need to remove the GPS from the case to actually read its screen, defeating much of the purpose. The Garmin screen itself is made of soft plastic that scratches immediately, and you must protect it with a self-adhesive screen protector. You must do the same to this carrying case. That said, the case fits the GPS snugly and the clip stays on a belt or pack, so other than the soft screen it works as advertised. But why do manufacturers build and sell products with built-in self-destruct features?

[+] 8.0 Good protection for GPS
Case works perfect for carring on belt and protecting the GPS but makes it hard to see the display at times.

[+] 4.0 OK, but not that useful
I received this case with my new etrex Venture. If came in a bundle with the Mapsource software, a USB cable and a lanyard. However, on my unit at least, the belt clip slides into a pouch on the back of the unit. The first time down the trail, the case slipped off the belt clip and dropped softly to the ground. Not acceptable! It will provide protection for your unit and the screen, the buttons are accessible, but not being able to clip it to clothing or a pack limits it's usability.

[+] 2.0 Case performs poorly
After two weeks of using the Garmin Carrying Case I put it away, probably for good. The reason for this is that it just simply is not ergonomic. As you can see in the picture, the case butts right up against the menu button and also enter button for the Vista HCx making these buttons very difficult and frustrating to use. It is also very difficult to get the gps unit in and out of the case. It would have been better to have made a 'hard' case in which the unit was meant to be removed to be used. I bought a small 'fanny' pack to use instead for geocaching and just put the unit, sans case, in that; that works out better. I cannot recommend this case at all.

[+] 6.0 Good, but could be improved
The carrying case material is good, with good terminations. I use my Garmin unit while rowing in the ParanĂ¡ Delta near Tigre, Buenos Aires, and I find it provides good protection for the occasional splash of water. I have also taken it along in dusty hiking trails, and it serves its purpose very well.

The only thing that I wish were different is that the case requires that the receiver is [at least partially] removed from case to connect it to the USB cable (to download log files) or to the 12VDC power cable (when using it in the car).

[+] 10.0 Good protection
This is a great product. Ive seen others comment on poor screen visualization which I can possibly understand if they don't use the backlight. I always have my backlight turned on in the day as well and haven't had an issue. Good product for normal use, good price as well.

[+] 8.0 A great cover
I was a little skeptical of using this cover at first but since it came as part of the package deal I thought I would try it. Now I feel it is well worth it. What it gives you is protection from screen scratches and a belt clip for holding the gpsr hands free. In addition the padding gives you a better grip on the unit. You don't have to remove it to use the cable for downloads and all the buttons are uncovered. (You do have to remove it to install fresh batteries.)

[+] 2.0 Returned Item
The Garmin Vista is difficult to read without the clear plastic cover afforded by the carry case. When in the carry case, I could barely read the Vista's screen at all. The clear plastic that goes over the Garmin screen was too shiney and difficult to see through when out in the sun. Also, the case is bulky and significantly increases the size of the Vista. I sent it back. Thanks to Amazon for having such good customer service and allowing returns including shipping costs. I would have been very disappointed if I had been stuck with this carry case, as I would not use it. I would have given it zero stars, but a 1 is as low as it gets on the choices.

[+] 10.0 Useful in the field
This was a good buy for anyone doing extensive work in the field with your GPS. I hike quite a bit with my GPS and found the lanyard troublesome to use. I didn't like have the GPS hanging around my neck, swinging to an fro, so this is a good solution. Assuming you wear a belt, its an easy clip on, clip off and use right in the case. The case is specifically designed to keep all the buttons clear and free for use and it works well. A nice way to keep your GPS handy but securely strapped to your belt if you find yourself climbing a hill, fording a stream or whatever your adventures may get you into! I recommend a buy over using the lanyard this comes with your Garmin GPS.

[+] 8.0 Nice case - small issue with quality
This case fits well, and works nicely to protect the GPS.

The only issue I have with it is the stiching on the front window has started to come a little loose at the top. TO BE FAIR, I could be the culprit as I tend to pull the top flap firmly when seating the GPS into the pouch, so it could be attributed to my own actions.

It still works great, I am just a little more careful about pulling on it now. The stiching is holding fine, and the case works great.

Be aware also, that due to its design (which is sort of necessary based on the key placement of the GPS), the top corners of the GPSr are still vulnerable to drops. So if you want something to completely surround your GPS, this isn't it. I wouldn't object if they cahnged the design slightly to widen the top flap so that it would reach the corners a little more.

Overall a great little case for the money.

[+] 8.0 Nice case, worth the money
I have an eTrex, and it fits nice. The clip on the back is strong, and the case leaves the buttons free to use while still protecting it. The sides of the case are slightly padded, which probably protects it to some extent if it was dropped. I know this because I did, and I could hear that it was a padded "thump".
The window on the front could probably be a bit better, but really its fine.

[+] 10.0 Good case for a questionable gps unit
This case is good, and it will protect my Garmin Vista for years to come....that's because I won't be using the damn thing. It's way too involved and complicated, and the manual is as clear as mud.

[+] 8.0 Neat and effective
The carry case is neat and effective way to use a GPS - better than the belt clip. Also protects the GPS which is useful as in mountain use my previous GPS had got quite badly scratched while rock scrambling and climbing.

[+] 8.0 Clear vinyl lens is easily scratched
The case fits my GPS perfectly and is very comfortable to carry on. The clip is strong and so far there is no sign of failure. The only disappointment is that the clear vinyl lens is easily scratched and looses its transparency - so bad that you have to take out the GPS to read comfortably - which is a drawback when you're driving. Besides this, the rest is top quality and would buy another one.

[+] 8.0 Excellent Case
I recently ordered this along with my new Garmin eTrex Venture CX. It was an excellent purchase. It clips nicely on my pockets, backpack, and it fits nicely on "curtains" of commercial airliners (most airlines allow you to use GPS receivers once you reach cruising altitude). I can't imagine using my GPS without this case.

My only complaint is that it's hard to see the screen without the back light on in some glare situations.
