Graco Backless TurboBooster Car Seat in Chatter

This is a really great booster seat. It is very comfortable, well made, and has two (easy to clean) cupholders. The best part is that you can remove the fabric easily to launder - great value!

This car seat is not good for long drives, which will be an issue for our drives from the bay area to the Sierras (3-4hr drive) This is the reason I gave it 3 stars.

I was originally going to buy this seat in the Chatter (Black,$19), but ended up buying the Baker (light blue, $25)since it looked like a newer model and was a little more expensive. The reason was that I had read that this car seat did not have much cushioning, but that reviewer thought the Nov 08 model was going to have that. I researched on the net for which model would be the new Nov 08 model, but wasn't able to find it. Therefore, I looked at the pics and price and took a chance that the Baker would be this newer model with more padding. I am sorry to say that I was wrong.

Got the seat and for the price it looks pretty good, but it really has NO PADDING. The only padding is what's used to sew the cover and it's THIN. This booster is going to have to be a "around town" booster, but I would not take it along for any long-drive vacation trips. Unless, of course, I can add some padding myself to the seat. I wish I would have just gotten the Chatter for less money.

Luckely I also have a Compass 510 that is excellent for long drives... I saw it got bad review in that carseat study. I went back out to our car to check if the lap belt really is too high up on the stomach on our child, and in our case/kid this is NOT a problem. I would just recommend to try whatever seat you get IN YOUR car with your child. Hope this review help you car-vacationers. =)

We live in New York CIty and need boosters that travel well as we are often in car services and friends cars instead of our own.These are great! they install in a snap. seem truly secure since ultimately they allow the kids to use the car safety belts, and they are light enough to tote around when we have to. I am very happy with this purchase.

This was one of the top 10 boosters rated by a 10/1/08 report by Insurance Institute for Highway Safety report. Who am I to argue? We previously were using the Cosco Alpha Omega Elite Convertible Car Seat, which as a booster was giving us some problems (the lap belt was not lying flat on her thighs). I researched the seat and found out it was no longer scoring well for a booster for this reason. Sad because we loved this seat! In addition, she could not hook it herself.

So, our requirements were 1) lightweight seat, 2) easy buckling, 3) ability to adjust for multiple cars (e.g. we want to know the seatbelt will be positioned properly), 4) cupholder

The multiple designs, adjustable armrests, and cupholders on EACH side were bonuses.

Here's what we like:
-It's lightweight, can be easily buckled, there is an adjuster strap that attaches like a tether to either side of the seat - it has a clip to hold the seatbelt down and away from the neck

Here's what we don't like:
-The cupholders are sturdy and fairly easy to pull out (could be easier) but shallow.
-The armrests don't snap in as firmly as I would like - they are held in with plastic clips, which if bent, cause them to come out.
-While she seems comfy, there is little padding - the ones due out November 08 don't have the character designs but seem to sport more padding

This product seems to be good quality and a reasonable price. Very satisfied with item

I love this easy to use booster. It is an extra one that I can grab with me when I travel with my grandson or if I need it for a little friend in my car. It is light weight. nd easy to clean.

We bought 2 of these, one for each car. They are easy to install and our daughter loves them. The cupholders are also a nice feature. Would definitely recommend them.

This is an elegant simple solution for the between-size child. Sturdy, comfortable (I'm told), and very easy to use. Also foolproof. And very reasonably priced. The retractable cup holders make an excellent place to hide a surprise treat for my grand-daughter.

Easy to use. My daughter was excited to graduate from the car seat and loves the princess fabric. The little cup holders were a hit as well.

What can I say? After hauling around and hassling with big, bulky car seats for almost six years, using this car seat is a breeze! What's not to like?! We tend to use this seat on shorter trips when our daughter won't be falling asleep. We also have a booster with a back, that's the one was use for longer road trips.

My family is going on vacation to Disney World. In the past we have rented car seats when picking up our rental car, which has proven to be a great hassle. This time we will bring our three new booster seats. They are compact, yet very sturdy. We have used them for the past three weeks for our three daughters - they are just what we hoped for, and were a great price too!

I bought this to use when we travel & don't want to bring our main car seat. This works well in the car & RV when my daughter is awake and active. However, the moment she falls asleep, she slumps over (& it's never against the door). She looks so uncomfortable leaning over. I'll be looking at the folding booster seats as a permanent solution for travel / transition.

Cons: Does not provide enough support when child falls asleep.

the seat belt adjuster is annoying and takes a lot of time to adjust it properly. Bottom line: it is a sort of pain to put the child in the seat.

This was a pretty good product. It is lite weight and works well for what we need it for. Would purchase again if needed.

My girl was ready for a big girl booster seat and we wanted something more portable for our van. She picked this design. It's adorable and easy to use. Amazon shipped SUPER fast. Very happy with it.

My son is VERY tall for his age. We have a booster seat, in my car, with full back that he has been using since he was two. My husband and I were tired of switching the seat between our two cars daily, so we bought this booster for his car. It's perfect for what we need and it didn't cost us an arm and a leg.

This is a very nice seat for the price. I have a big two year old grandson and this is very comfortable for him. It is easy to install and it has a seat belt strap that keeps the seat belt at a good angle accross his shoulder.

The shoulder strap positioner is uncomfortable and way too easy/tempting for a 4-year-old to remove! We're working on it, but it's hard to explain why he has to keep that neck-rubbing belt on his shoulder when grandma isn't fond of her shoulder strap either :)

Good booster seat without back support. Cup stowage is a good idea with it sliding in and out. Sholder support may need to be used as the sholder strap may not exactly land on child sholder.

I was having a difficult time with my 9-year-old son. He is small for his age and not heavy or tall enough to ride in our van safely without a booster. He was embarrassed to have to ride in his old "regular booster" (with a back). He did not want friends to ride in the car with us for fear of embarrassment. This was our compromise. It is MUCH less obvious and more comfortable, less confining than his other booster. Great investment. Thankfully it comes in "mature" color combinations (we have a black and gray model) and not only childish patterns.

It was very easy to assemble-- I put it together in minutes.

We ordered this booster before traveling with our 4 and 2 year olds by plane and then using a rental car. It was easy to carry in a shopping bag as carry-on or in the plastic checked bag with the car seat for our 2 year-old. That made flying much easier with the new checked baggage restrictions since car seats and strollers count as your one checked item per ticket on United.

It was lightweight, easy to use and easy to transfer between cars. The cup holders slide into base when not in use making it easier to carry or travel. It worked great given all of the other things we also needed to bring when traveling with 2 small children. Now it is easy to keep at Grandma and Grandpa's house or car trunk if they need it during visits. Also, we used super-saver shipping and it arrived within a week.

I bought this booster car seat because I often chauffer my grandson around and I got tired of borrowing his car seat and having to return it immediately after using it. He's six years old and big for his age. This seat allows me to easily use the rear seatbelts to comfortably secure him in place. My daughter paid three times as much for his booster seat and it's identical in design and quality to this one. I really can't see a reason to pay more. My grandson's safety while he's riding with me is of the utmost importance so I was prepared to return this item if it didn't measure up. Since the price differential was so huge I was prepared for something that might not be as good but I was pleasantly surprised. This is a terrific value for the money and I highly recommend it. CAUTION: It should NOT be used for infants or toddlers.

My daughter loves the seat (because of the design). There is no installation depending on the child's age and the car. It is so easy she is putting on her own seatbelt now. Less work for mom. The seats arrived within days even though I did not chose the most expensive shipping. Amazon has been a very good site to order from in my experience.

Lightweight and practical booster seat. Easy to carry between vehicles or cheap enough to have one per car if required. Works well for my 5.5year old.

This is a very comfortable and easy to use booster.
Assembly was pretty easy and instructions where clear and simple to follow. Overall, worth the money.

This may be our 4th or 5th Graco product, and so far we have been extremely happy with all their products including durability, design and price.

Our kids had outgrown their car seats and after checking with Consumer's Reports, we decided that this was the best booster seat for our kids. In addition to decent padding for them, the seats have cup/stuff holders on each side of the seat. This is important as some boosters have the holders only on one side, which is okay if you have one kid. But if you have two seats, you need to be able to open one on the left side and one on the right. The only reason it did not get 5 stars is that we thought the armrest would flip up (as in other brands) but it does not, making it a little more difficult for them to reach over to buckle themselves in. Otherwise we like the product very much.

When my wife started working we needed a booster seat for my car so we could start sharing car pool duties with our 5 year old daughter. This car seat shipped quickly. It is fairly light, but rugged. It assembles quickly with just the arms to insert and secure. My daughter loves that she has two cup holders. One for her juice and one for her "friends" that she takes on the ride to school. Aside from being a car seat, it looks masculine enough to be in my car.
