I'm loving the instrumental version of the most popular down south hits on this album!!! I think the CD is hot and very creative. They kept the original beat and remixed it in flavorful way!

[+] 4.0 What's Up
I was very disappointed with this Hidden Beach CD. I've collected each of the volumes previously and I must say I was disappointed with this one. Somehow it missed the flare of the previous works. Not that it had to be the same. When it comes to a 5th volume you come to expect a certain sound and quality. For me this one missed the mark!

[+] 4.0 Hidden Beach Recordings presents: Unwrapped Vol. 5 - Collipark Cafe Sessions
Did not enjoy this cd as much as Volume 1-4. If I had listened to this first, I would not have bought this item. I assumed b/c I enjoyed Volume 1-4, I thought this would be a great addition to the collection I had.

[+] 10.0 Smooth Jazz meets Hip-Hop
Hidden Beach's Unwrapped series is a nice jazz alternative to listening to the, sometimes inappropriate, lyrics of the original hip-hop/r&b versions of the songs. For anyone that loves smooth jazz with a generous helping of beats that are true to their hip-hop flavor, then the whole series is a must.

Volume 5 of this series is the best recording to date. This is the first one that I came across in the series, and afterwards I had to have all of them. After listening to this recording, I happily bought the first four recordings as a boxed set which was a great bargain. The beats will be familiar to anyone who listens to hip-hop and/or R&B, but the jazz expressions that make-up each song make a delicious and seamless blend of
smooth funkiness that will be as fresh as any contemporary jazz you'll find.

My 10-year-old boy, who exclaims his love for "rap" and distaste for jazz, even bounced his head to the beat and listened in anticipation to what Hidden Beach's jazz take on the next hip-hop song on the cd would be. And, the truth is, he still enjoys listening to this recording to this day. And you will too.

[+] 10.0 They Did It Again
I first heard Unwrapped 4 last year. My boyfriend wanted me to hear the CD that he just won in a raffle uring a company picnic I was blown away! I could not stop listening to the CD. Then I thought well if there is a Unwrapped 4 there must be a 1, 2 and 3. So I logged on to Amazon and bought all 3 and I'm hooked. I love the mix of Jazz, hip hop and R&B. I do miss Karen Briggs on this CD. She's the lady that plays the hell out of a violin! Hopefully she's back on Unwrapped 6. I look forward to Upwrapped 6, 7, 9, 9, etc, etc. Keep them coming!!

[+] 10.0 Jazzy hip-hop - Vol. 5
After a short hiatus, Hidden Beach finally released the highly-anticipated Volume 5 from their cherished and critically-acclaimed Unwrapped urban jazz series.
Like its predecessors, it takes current radio hits and smooths it out. This time, the underlying theme is Dirty South/crunk music. The Unwrapped band, featuring guest artists Mike "Philly" Phillips, Karen Briggs and legendary jazz performer, Fred Wesley, "jazzifies" current hits by Ludacris, Hurricane Chris, Lil' Jon, Soulja Boy, Ying Yang Twins, Snoop Dogg, Young Jeezy (featuring Akon), etc. If any of the mentioned artists are reading this review, these performers do your songs definite justice. Usher's "Yeah!" is the featured bonus track after "Bridging the Great Divide".
In conclusion, I have loved Unwrapped since the first volume. I hope that Hidden Beach doesn't take too long to release the next one. If there's anyone out there that like this kind of jazz without the profanity and the harsh stigma toward and about the jazz genre, I also recommend the Streetwize series (i.e. Tha' Hot Club, The Slow Jamz Album, Work It!, etc) under the Shanachie record banner. Some people don't care about the mentioned
Hits that you can enjoy by yourself, with family, fellas or whoever. Jazz. Hip-hop. R&B. It's Hidden Beach's Unwrapped Vol. 5.0-The Collipark Cafe Sessions. Finally, somebody's got it!

[+] 10.0 Excellent instrumentals...
This cd has some of the tightest tracks from the radio covered by some of the smoothest instrumentalists. I listened to it and thought it was remixes, but I didn't know it was all instrumental, surprising, but not the least bit disappointing.

[+] 10.0 Da Bomb!
Hidden Beach Recordings have done it again! I have all five volumes and am hoping they continue what they're doing. Another jazz musician whose just as good is J. Rawls and his Liquid Crystal Project.
