Hoover 40303048 48-Ounce Floor-to-Floor Cleaner for FloorMate

I have been using this product in my hoover floormate machine for years. The smell seems fine to me. However, I cannot believe the price on this product. I can buy it elsewhere for around $7.00. Who would spend $50.00 for this product? Are you nuts??? I buy a lot of stuff on Amazon, but cannot believe this.

Very satisfied with the product. It is very good at cleaning the grout and the tile.

This product was delivered in a good amount of time...but the shipping charges almost made it out of reach. I would look locally the next time. Product is great.

I was just told by a company that the green bottle & the white bottle of this product is the same thing but the price is like day & night. So I went to both products to review what people had to say about them. I had to laugh, you actually rated it on it's smell as opposed to it's performance. I've been using the Hoover Floor-to-Floor cleaner for 2 years & love it. I have a dog that tracks in the yuck from outside including salt (I live in a snowy area). The Hoover Floor-to-Floor makes my hardwood floors look amazing. I can get past the smell which is not that horrible to begin with, to get beautiful floors.

The smell of this stuff is gross and will make your room smell dirtier rather than cleaner. It is also not a very good detergent. I don't think that this cleans any better than plain water. The only good thing about this product is that you can use it on any hard floor surface rather than changing detergents for different types of flooring. I feel that is pretty much a useless feature if it won't clean any of them! I have added orange essential oil to this to improve the smell and cleaning function. That works ok it if it is safe for your floors but you have to add quite a bit to hide the repulsive odor and it is something I would only bother with if I am out of better stuff.

Although the label had changed, the product appears to be the same that I had purchased at various retailers. Unfortunately, those retailers no longer carry the product as sales of the Floor Mate machine have dropped off, probably since everyone who wants one now has one. I personally have worn out 2 of them and think that they are great! I have indoor pets and like to know my floors are clean. So, my Floormates are used at least 3 times per week. I know the machine may take a little longer than plain mopping, since you go over the area once to scrub and another time to pick up the water, but If everyone could see the water that gets sucked up from the floor by that machine, they would never use a mop and bucket again!

I had a hard time finding this cleaner and it is the only one recommended for my FloorMate by Hoover (imagine that). The other cleaners that I found either foamed or had wax in them. I finally looked on Amazon and there it was - even though a little pricey but it's a large bottle. It really works good and leaves the house smelling fresh and clean. I have stained and scored concrete as well as matching tile and it works great on both. I will re-order when the time comes. I didn't rate it 5 stars because this is about the only place I found to get it and the price with shipping makes it pricey. If it wasn't for those two things I would give it 5 stars.

It is great that Amazon.com give us access to other sellers. Some items like this Hoover FloorMate solution are hard to find locally (even though I bought the FloorMate locally). It was great to be able to order this solution and then receive it in a timely manner too. The only thing I wish is that the bottle had been shrink-wrapped for shipment to avoid potential spillage disasters.

Floormate Floor Cleaner is hard to find in my area. Walmart has quit selling it and I could not find at Lowes or Home Depot. This was a fast delivery from Amazon.

This product is overpriced and does not have much cleaning power. It has a pleasant scent, but for the money there are many better brands.

Must have for all hoover floor mate...got a great deal on amazon...less expensive on amazon than in stores..

This is a very easy machine and cleaner to use. It cleans the hardwood floors great

I used this product before several times with the hoover vacuum floor cleaner. This is good and there are no issues. The smell is also great. Just need to do cleaning "atleast once" in a week to look the floor neat and clean.

I absolutely love the Floor-to-Floor cleaner for the Floormate! The newer solution smells really good and cleans like a dream.

Floor care product is fine -- FloorMate does not allow enough cleaner liquid to come out.

I used this cleaner in my floormate on laminate floors and it did a great job.

After going to Lowe's, Home Depot, Target, K-Mart and Meijer's to look for the Hoover Floor-to-Floor cleaner, I gave up and ordered online. If you live in Chicago like I do, you would understand what a blessing it is to have things like this delivered to your door without having to battle the weather. Thanks, Amazon.com.

Does a good job cleaning tile floors, and is less expensive (if you get it directly from Amazon on sale) than the Bissell formula. The Bissell formula also works well, so compare per-ounce prices and pick the cheaper one.

The scent of the Hoover formula is a bit stronger than the Bissell, but not objectionable at all -- has a decent "clean" smell to it, and is not overpowering when used in the proper dilution strength.

My only complaint is that it can be hard to pour from the bottle. A lip or spout would be a nice touch since the bottle is rather large.

It would be nice if they had a size a tad smaller, since it's a bit clumsy to pour from a container of this size into the little cup the wet-floor-vac comes with that does not sit flat on a surface. But my floor gets clean and smells good after, so I'd have to give it 4 out of 5 stars.

I own the Hoover Floormate and this solution works really well. It doesn't smell bad but there is nothing really special about the scent. This solution is rather expensive in local stores but Amazon has a really fair price.

this machine gets you off your knees while cleaning your tile floor.it even vacuums first & uses a minimum of cleaning liquid to do the job.this means the floor dries almost right away.we loaned the machine to a friend & the very next day she bought one.we love it.

I have always cleaned my floor with a mop. Then I tried the kit floor cleaners you can get at the grocery store. Finally I decided to try my Hoover SteamVac on my vinyl floor. I vacuumed first and then used my SteamVac set on "Bare Floor" and used the Floormate Floor-to Floor Cleaner. One swoop on an area I had just cleaned the "old way" and you could see a tremendous difference. The floor was actually white for the first time in years. And it was a lot easier. My machine squeegeed up the water on the floor and it was immediately clean and dry with no streaks. I LOVE IT!!!

Gets both wooden floors and tiles clean. Has a refreshing and clean smelling lavender fragrance.

I was stunned at how clean this product left my laminate wood floors. I've tried everything and this is the first cleaner that really works.

We were very happy to get our hoover hard wood floor cleaner. Of course, the machine isn't very good without the cleaning liquid. This leaves our tile floors looking good, smelling good, with no streaks.

Good product. Love my Hoover hard floor cleaner. Don't know how I cleaned my floors before. This stuff makes them the kind of shiny you like to walk away from and look back on and admire (like a new car or something).

This product does what it says. No streaks or patches. I recommend it.

This cleaner is great. It is a good value for the money and I always stock up. I wish it was a little nicer smelling though. It doesn't smell bad, but it could come in different scents.

leaves film/streaks on the quarry tile; use less than manufacturer recommends. i haven't tried the grout cleaning product yet.

I only wish that Hoover would come out with a larger size. I use it frequently and have to replace it frequently, as well. The product works
very well on my white tile, brown grout kitchen and nook floors. The floors are truly clean and sanitized after completion. The scent is o.k.
Unlike other reviewers, I use it full strength in my machine for best results on my floors. It really depends on one's floors. (material, grout, etc.) I have pets, as well, and it does a great job picking up those footprints on rainy days.

I can't smell this stuff. If it has an odor, it must be really faint. Anyways, this stuff seems to clean just fine with my H3044 scrubber. The only thing I don't like about it is that it looks like brown water to begin with.

I like the scent, I guess it's just personal preference.
Also, I just wanted to add, you're supposed to use 2 OUNCES (1/4 cup), NOT 2 cups.

I love this cleaner and the Hoover floor cleaner. I have over 2300 sq ft. of hard tile floor and wood floor to clean and it does the job. Smell, well it's fine others complain - well get your nose out of the bottle.. Love this product!

I have a large tiled kitchen floor and I and very pleased with the
Hoover Floor Mate Cleaner. Did an excellent job on cleaning the grout between each tile. Will purchase again in the future.

I had to replace my Floor mate after one year. After reading the instrutions I realized it was my fault. You have to use the floor to floor cleaner or you will ruin it! It does a so so job on tile, but a wonderfull job on hard wood(laminate) floors, and also linoleum. I have all three.

I think the smell is fine. You can't really smell it after your done. I'm pregnant all the time and everything makes me want to puke, but this stuff is ok.

I've been using the first iteration of the machine and the fluids for almost 3 yrs now. I'm not sure why people would use so much. On my machine, the tank for the cleaning fluid/water mix, has a cap with a built in measurer. We use about 3 oz per cleaning and mixed with really hot water, it does a great job! We've never had an odor problem either when cleaning or afterwards. And compared to some of the fluids my wife has used when she mopped (and occasionally still does) the floor, now those stink! As long as the machine keeps working, I'll keep scrubbin'!

I agree wholeheartedly with the other reviewers about the smell of this cleaner...it almost made me lose my lunch. Disgusting, UGH. I suggest anyone who cannot stand this smell to use the Bissell formulations, either the Wood Floor Solutions or Hard Floor Solutions. They have a pleasant, fresh, clean scent.

I bought this for my wife--kinda had to since I also bought her the Floormate for xmas... She said that the directions make it WAY too concentrated. She was using 1/3 cup instead of 2 cups (or something like that). This is great news to me, since it means the same bottle will last a lot longer! Overall, we've only used the floormate a couple times, but it seems to do a great job on our tile. Get's it clean, and no residue (especially when diluted properly--i.e. about 1/5 the recommended amount...)

Hoover should not have discontinued the original cleaing solutions that worked with this machine. I way preferred the smell of the original ones. I use it mostly on wood floors, so the convenience factor was not an issue for me.

It's ok. It's nice that it can switch from hard wood to tile. I just used this product for the first time since I finally finished using the bottle of Old English floor cleaner that came with the machine. I cleaned the kitchen floor first and it seemed to do all right. I did miss the clean scent that the Old English cleaner had. Next I cleaned the linoleum in the bathroom. It didn't seem to get the floor as clean as the Lysol cleaner. It didn't scrub the hairspray residue off the floor like the other cleaner does. And again, I missed the clean smell from the Lysol. The smell of this cleaning fluid borderline stinks. I don't know why Hoover had to mess up a good thing but I wish they wouldn't take the Old English cleaning fluid off the market. If I have to choose between cleaning ability and good scent or a fluid that is versatile but stinks I would choose the first one.
