[+] 10.0 Awesome Machine!
I spent a year reading reviews and researching this product before purchasing. Now that I own one, I wish I hadn't waited so long! It is such a help in cleaning my floors. No more messy mop and bucket...I just wheel out my Hoover and plug it in. On top of that, my floors are the cleanest they have ever been! The floormate pulls all the dirty water back up immediately, leaving my floors squeaky clean and ready to walk on. I absolutely love this machine, and use it every day.

[+] 8.0 only one on market
Much better than the old model. I like that it wider and comes with extra tools. It does a great job on tile floors. No more on knees scrubbing. You do have to get the corners by hand.

[+] 8.0 Great machine, but not a miracle
This is the second Floormate I've purchased and the third I've used. I live in Florida and have pets. All you have to do to be convinced of the usefulness of this machine is take a look at the water in the pick-up tank. If that doesn't convince you , clean the floor in your conventional way, then run the Floormate and look at the tank.

It has imperfections. It doesn't pick up sticky food spills in one pass. (I keep a putty knife handy.) It does dribble after you turn it off. I store it on an old washcloth. They don't last forever. I'd guess four years is typical. I figure about 50 cents per use for the machine.

The tile cleaner brush isn't really convenient for my shower stall, but the grout cleaner fluid works great with a magic eraser pad.

I use the wash setting followed by the water pickup setting. It leaves the floor reasonably dry. For cleaning pet messes I use Simple Solution instead of the Hoover product.

[+] 10.0 Works great!
Pros: Scrubs well and sucks up the water well.
Cons: A bit heavy to push when sucking up the water

First of all, I'm asking a lot of the Floormate! I bought the Hoover H3060 Floormate to clean tile floors in my basement where one of our cats likes to pee. Unfortunately, I cannot get rid of the cat so I needed something to clean up after him. Regular mops seemed to just spread it around and the basement always smells like pee. It didn't occur to me that you could buy a hard floor cleaner similar to a carpet cleaner so when I saw the Floormate on Amazon I read the reviews to see if it seemed like it would work well for my purpose. A couple of people commented that it helped clean the floors at their kennel businesses so I thought it might be good for cleaning my basement floors.

It arrived today and I tried it out. I did not use the Hoover cleaning liquid but instead filled it with one of those special cleaners for pet messes and with hot water. The Floormate did a good job of scrubbing and it easily and quickly sucked up the water from the floor. In fact, one time when I was emptying the dirty water container I accidentally spilled it all over the floor and the machine easily picked that up. The used water was pretty filthy so I'll take that as a sign that the machine worked well. The regular machine doesn't reach quite all the way to the edges of the floor (leaves about 1/4") but the attachment tools should help with that.

It's a little hard to push when you're using the dry cycle but otherwise it's about like using a regular vacuum cleaner. Switching between vacuum, clean, and dry is easy with just the turn of a knob. I've only used it once so far but the Floormate appeared to do a good job of really getting into the grout between the tiles, even without using the special grout tool or cleaner. If the condition of the dirty water is any indication, it did a pretty good job. Over time we'll see if it eliminates the smell in the basement and makes my life easier.

On another note, I bought the Floormate that came with the tools because I hope to use it to clean the shower. Hopefully it will work well for that and make spending the extra money on the tools worthwhile.

[+] 10.0 Must Have 2010
This is a great lil' cleaning machine. I read these reviews intensely before buying and must say I'm totally pleased. My house is 2800 sq ft heated and only the bedrooms and office are carpeted. This is a must have for wood, tile and vinyl floors in my opinion. Fill up the tank, Run the vac, Run the wash, Run the dryer, Empty the tank.... behold dry, PRISTINE floors. Sounds like a lot of steps, but I'm assured I'm not walking around on dried dirty mop water. The vacuum is great for everyday once-overs, to keep down on dust and pet hair.

I'm giving away my old swiffer vac... and the dry and wet pads I continuously went through.

really.... LOVE IT!!!!

Semi-Cons:
Smaller Tank - but really who wants to deal with pushing around gallons of water. The tank will clean 1 to 2 standard room or 2 to 3 bathrooms.
Vacuum - perfect for dust, dirt, hair and "light" items, but don't expect it to replace a regular vacuum.
Timing - the whole process may seem longer than say a swiffer or mop (not that big a difference), but the results are cleaner and quite shiny.
Flat Surfaces - it takes longer and is less efficient on my grooved/jagged tiles.
Corners - your still probably going to have to whip out a sponge to get the crannies, hopefully your room is octagonal.

Anyone who is complaining about the above items is totally missing the convenience of the all in one features and the reality that this machine not only scrubs but picks up the nasty water a mop would leave behind. In fact I'm sure they do not have the OCD tendencies I have. I'm amazed by the drying!!! I didn't have any problems with shipping or what have you... if it breaks I'd be willing to buy another. Haven't used the tools yet... but they were not the main reason I bought the machine.

[+] 8.0 works great on tile floor
I did a lot of research before deciding on this floor cleaner. It worked really well on my tile floor, I tried out the grout scrubber attachment and the reach around toilets attachment and liked them both. I was even able to clean crayon marks off the tiles! The dry vacuum worked great and the wet vac really made the floors dry quickly. I used it with the wood floor brush and had great success as well although I am disappointed that your wood floors have to be in practically perfect condition or else the brushes will cause further damage. I noticed a few blemishes on my wood floors and I'm not sure if I will cause more damage in the future by using the floor cleaner on it. I just got this for Christmas and have only used it one time so far but I really love it and I'm happy with my choice!

It's great to be able to see the dirty water as you clean - forget the steam cleaners with pads that you have to clean after wards. This unit is very easy to use & lightweight - I love it!

[+] 6.0 Don't expect a miracle from this machine
I bought this machine to clean floors which had been previously cleaned with a Shark Steam Cleaner (That's another review, but take heed and DO NOT waste your $$ on one of those!. First let me say the Hoover is not remedial-in that it will not work a miracle on floors that are in desperate need of deep cleaning. However, it beats the Shark in that it actually scrubs and cleans rather than just steam and get some of the surface dirt. My thinking is that I will have my floors professionally scrubbed and then use this machine to maintain them. It's just not powerful enough to thoroughly clean built up stuff.
The Hoover machine is easy to assemble and use. I did it all myself and I am no mechanical wizard. Using the machine to clean is a no brainer too. I don't like that the cleaning solution compartment doesn't hold more than a couple of cups and needs to be frequently refilled. I've used the sample bottle and need to get a reg sized bottle to continue.
All-in-all I'm glad I got this machine (At least to this point), and think once I just need to maintain the floors it will work the way I need.

This works but isn't any better at cleaning than a simple mop. It also isn't any less work than a simple mop. Not worth the money.

[+] 8.0 I can see my grout again!
Our new home has about 2000 square feet of white tile with beige grout and it was pretty dirty when we bought the house. Add in 3 people, 2 cats and 2 dogs and it hasn't gotten any better. I have tried several other products in my quest - some would say obsession - to get the floors truly clean and none really met my expectations. The Swifter mop worked reasonably well on the tile itself but didn't clean the grout and I would use an entire bottle of cleaning fluid and 4-5 pads every time I mopped the floors. We then tried the Shark steam mop which again worked reasonably well on cleaning the tiles but not so much with the grout. Before we spent $.49 a square foot to have our grout professionally cleaned, we decided to try the Hoover Spinscrub and I am so glad we did.

I read a lot of the reviews on the website here before purchasing and even though the grout cleaning reviews were not sparkling, I thought anything must be an improvement. The Spinscrub has been great! It is lightweight, maneuvers well and really gets the floors clean! The first time I used it, I was amazed by all the dark, dirty water getting sucked back up off the floors. This was the first time you could walk about in stocking feet and not have dirt marks on your soles! It is very easy to go back and forth between scrubbing and wet vacuuming and the floors are practically dry when you are done.

This weekend I tried the grout brush attachment and all I can say is "Wow!". I purchased the Hoover grout cleaning solution when I bought the machine (although it does come with a sample bottle) and since our grout was especially dirty I added 3 ounces of cleaner instead of 2 to the solution tank. It worked like a charm! The grout attachment sprays a line of cleaner directly into the grout and the brush has nice stiff bristles to clean the grout. Best of all, the attachment has a suction port that pulls the dirty water back our of the grout. It did take me some time and effort but overall it was pretty easy to get our grout back to normal.

Overall I would give this product 4 stars. There are some minor drawbacks -- the spinning brushes seem to fall off pretty easily if you try to carry the cleaner rather than roll it to a new location and the grout brush bristles are pretty much done after cleaning about half our grout -- but overall it has done a great job on our floors and I would definitely recommend it to others.

[+] 10.0 Love this cleaner!!!!
This is the second spinscrub I've owned...this new model is even better than the first. I have three dogs who are constantly tracking dirt onto my hardwood floors and this really makes keeping them clean so much easier. I would highly recommend this to anyone suffering from back problems...much easier on your back than a mop. Thanks for making a great product even better!

[+] 2.0 doesn't last very long
The machine does what it says, it scrubs all kinds of floors and sucks up the water, but the motor goes bad quickly, in fact mine stopped working after less than a year, and I've had two 500 models burn out within a year also, so much as I liked how well it cleaned my floors, I'm going back to a tried and true mop.

Bottom line, not worth the cost, motor doesn't last, easily burns out.

[+] 8.0 Can't Complain Since I Hate Cleaning
Since it's unlikely I'd get down on my hands and knees as frequently as the floors require it, I'd rate this cleaner 4 stars.

The Hoover doesn't scrub corners or sides as well as you would, but there is an attachment that can help you do it (it's not perfect but it's good enough). The bright side is you won't have to get down and dirty and close to the grime with this baby. You could clean your floors in a dress and high heels and not get a speck on you or sweat in the slightest. So for that, it gets an A+. Your floors will be clean, and with all the tools that are included, you don't have to touch anything near the toilet!

I didn't like the cleaner that was included because of the smell and the fact that it is not environmentally friendly. But you can buy any cleaner to put in with it as long as it doesn't suds up. I usually clean with a diluted cleaner a couple times, then go over it again with just water (I have hardwood floors so I don't want to leave any cleaner on them). Like other reviews, I haven't had to use the "dry" function because if you go slowly enough and don't press the squirt button all the time, the machine will suck up most of the water itself, and the floor air dries in a minute or two. If you clean more often than I do, you can probably just go over the floors once, but like I mentioned, I clean the floors about twice a month (I do Swiffer every day, and you will have to vacuum before cleaning).

The only downsides are - doesn't get into the nooks and crannies as well as I'd like, even with the tools, and you absolutely have to vacuum up every crumb before scrubbing because this puppy only scrubs and doesn't suck up all hair and stuff that's already on the floor. But seeing that dirty water in the waste tank will make you feel lots better about your floors and how clean they will be after you're done!

[+] 8.0 Exactly what I expected
My Hoover H3060 Floormate arrived exactly the day they said it would. Very well packaged, even came w/ some unexpected samples so I was able to start on the cleaning right away. Does the basic cleaning, my water was almost black, however it does not scrub in the grooves of heavy textured tile. Overall does a much better job then just a mop.

[+] 6.0 Pretty good cleaning
I have had a previous spinscrub, and I bought this new model. It is a fast way with minimal muscle to get a clean floor. This particular model doesn't have as much brush contact with the floor as my last one, which I kind of miss. Some other drawbacks is that it doesn't make the floor really shiny, and the scrubber can be too wide to get into small places, or under cabinets, etc. The pluses are that it is fast, it cleans thoroughly and is pretty convenient to use.

[+] 8.0 Love it but don't be illusioned.
I love this machine! I'm not a great moper, nothing ever seems to get clean that way and I can't get past the fact that you're essentially spreading around dirty water by the end. Therefore this machine is fabulous for me! There is a seperate compartment for the dirty water. You use it like a carpet cleaner, lay down the solution when you go forward and pull it back up when you come back. It allows the solution to soak into the messy spots and leaves the floor pretty much dry by the time you're done. You do have to go slow though, but it works fabulously on my kitchen tile. There are draw backs though. If you want to get into corners you will have to use attachments, and the attachments will lay down solution and do have bristles on them, however they don't have any rotating brushes so you're back to power by "armstrong" so to speak. For those of you with babies and tile floors it cleans well, but don't illusion yourself that it's a magic machine. If your kid throws sweet potatoes on the floor and you don't clean it up right away, leaving it to dry in the grout you will have to use a little elbow grease to get it out. However it gives great peace of mind that my one year old can throw everything he wants on the floor and as soon as he goes to bed, 20 minutes later the place is spotless and I didn't have to break a sweat to make it happen. I highly recomend this for anyone with small children or a great deal of hard floors. I read all the reviews and heeded the warnings from those who got models broken right out of the box, so i bought the insurance plan from amazon. However, I've had no problems from the machine as of yet. I've had it for probably six months now and it still works like a dream. I don't use it as a vacume though, just a wet floor cleaner.

[+] 10.0 hoover H3060 Floormate
We received the item within a couple of days and I used it right away. It was great. I use to wash the tile floor by hand as so not to stain the grout, but with 1500 sq ft of floor it was a bit much. The floor vac works just as doing it by hand without soar knees. I highly recommend it.

[+] 8.0 Does the job
I've a large area of several tiled rooms to clean. This does a good job. But if you really want to clean grout, this is only adequate. The hand held extension for grout cleaning is not motorized, and it might do better if it was. Overall, a good product so far.

Had the original floormate about 8 years and decided on new one. Gave old one to neice. This one is way better. Much more quiet (still loud) than old one. Works a lot faster. [+] 8.0 Better than scrubbrush and mop
We purchased a 5-year-old foreclosed home in Las Vegas that had had a renter for the past couple of years. I swear the ceramic tile grout had never been cleaned. My husband and I have scrubbed with a toothbrush, a grout brush, Zep grout cleaner and mopped and re-mopped the floor and never got it completely clean. I think a good part of it was we were liquifying the dirt and not able to get the dirty water up with a mop even after rinsing with clear water. When I saw the reviews for this floor scrubber I ordered it immediately. When I first got it together (it takes a bit of assembly out of the box but the directions are pretty clear) I didn't think there was any way those wimpy brushes would do a good job. And I wasn't very impressed when I began to use it...until I dumped the first tank of used water (read filthy, grimy, gritty water). I vacuumed the floor first, there was no grit. We've been over and over the floor so many times I would have sworn it was clean. Nope. The tiles look better than they ever have and the grout, while not yet perfect, is also looking cleaner by a long shot. I think it will take several applications of grout cleaner to get all the dirt scrubbed out. I'm glad I ordered an extra bottle when I ordered the scrubber. I suggest you do too. You'll go through cleaning solution pretty quickly. When scrubbing the grout, use the gray brushes, and clean each side of each tile so the length goes along the 5 brushes. Then clean the tile in slow overlapping strokes. While there is a lot of work even with this, it is a vast improvement over mopping because it immediately sucks up the dirty water and the cleaner does not leave behind sticky residue without rinsing. I gave it 4 stars because I think the grout brushes could be stiffer and a bit longer for an even cleaner floor. I haven't used the floor brushes yet.

[+] 10.0 Love it , love it, love it
I owned the first model that came out years ago-I used it to death!! I wore out the scrubber brushes and sometimes left cleaner in the tanks and the gasket wore out in the cleaner tank. So abuse did occur.......I love this machine and have looked high and low for it in the stores to no avail. I have very wide grout on my 450 sq. foot kitchen/family area and my grout is my nemesis. This machine sucks up the dirty water, not leaving in the grout to stain and stay dirty. From mopping, steaming ect. everything left that dirty water on the grout. Even if I changed my mop bucket over and over, I still had that dirty water sitting in my grout making it dirty. Not w/ the Floormate-because it scrubs the grout, sucks up all that dirty water, it does not sit on the grout. You will be completely amazed at the dirty water you pour out. I have used vinegar and water and other cleaners too, sometimes just water. I am so excited about the on board tools they have now-get those hard to reach spots. My wood floors have done fine w/ it too. I don't have carpet in my home-just 3 area rugs so you can see why I love this. My floors feel grungy since I have not had one to use and been mopping and dumping my bucket ect. I am so excited I found it, so I can get a new one, why is it not available in most regular stores??????

I have owned this for 3 months and the suction stopped....My complaint is w. Hoover customer service. A certified service repair was 2-3 hours of round trip driving ( oneway). A previous customer service person was 10 min. from my house discontinued his services w/ Hoover because they would never pay him for warrantied repairs. Now if you want great service...iRobt will pay to have items returned for a new replacement. So I dont think Amazon will back us up.... looking into that because I love Amazon.

I enjoy using this floor cleaner very much. Having not used prior models I cannot make a comparison. I find this very easy to use... I have not used the attachments yet. [+] 8.0 Does a decent job
Machine works OK -- go slow, use the Hoover floor and grout cleaners and be prepared to refill and empty several times on all but the really small jobs. We have over 1000sq.ft of tile and it really takes a lot of time and refills. It is amazing how much more dirt this machine picks up after a vacuuming and wet mopping.
Reviewer [A1B5ARLA0U89YR] | Date [May 28, 2009]
[+] 6.0 Good vacuum
Pros:
1. It does a great job on tile floors. Much easier than a regular mop and it seems to get up more dirt. It does my kitchen floor very quickly and the floor really does seem clean afterward.

Cons:
1. It does not do a great job on tough dirt spots but I think those require a hand scrubbing anyway.
2. I've noticed that it leaves streaks on the wood floors but I'm trying to figure out if it's something I'm doing wrong.
3. The attachments are more trouble than they are worth. Although they do clean in tight spots, it's a pain to clean the hose and attachments at the end. I've concluded that it is just easier to get those small spots by hand verses having to spend the time at the end cleaning the attachments.

Overall, I would buy this machine again. It's the best thing out there in my opinion. And I can't say enough about how well it cleans tile foors.

[+] 10.0 This Thing Works
We live out in the country in a house with about 2400" feet of laminate floors, a tile mud-room, and four dogs. It's not easy to keep these floors clean. Previous to purchasing this Hover SpinScrub, I would broom sweep, vacuum with the Dyson All Floors, and then hand mop. Now I can simply do my sweeping and finish with the Hoover. It gets the floors clean and really does pick up the dirty water efficiently. My only gripe is that the two water tanks (clean and dirty) could be bigger ...to eliminate multiple refill and empty cycles. I have only used it once so far, but it works as advertised.

[+] 2.0 Hoover is a Synonym for Crap
First of all, this is my 4th Floormate. If any other company made a machine that cleans like this one is supposed to, I would buy it in a minute. They usually work for a year. This one was defective right out of the box. It wouldn't squirt much solution on the floor. It made a huge mess. I work near a Hoover repair center or I would never dream of buying anything made by this company. As far as I'm concerned, Hoover means CRAP!!! I know I'll probably end up buying another POS made by them. When it works, nothing cleans like it. It just doesn't work very long

[+] 10.0 so love the H3060
I added the H3060 to my arsenal of cleaning supplies..I have been using a broom(because the Kirby blows dirt), Kirby (heavy, a royal pain to change out the heads), mop and bucket(sloshing water everywhere), the expense of the really good bags, the expense of the belts thaqt break often, the expense of really good floor cleaner, replacing mop heads every three months, and just not feeling clean, not to mention the mop and bucket way always left me cleaning ALL DAY, I would mop a section(moving furniture) and have to wait for it to dry and then move the furniture back and so on. I have all tile floors with one carpet, which the Kirby does very well on. Ok on with the review..I LOVE IT..it was easy to assemble, I did not have to force anything to go together, I can vaccum, and mop in one easy step, move my furniture mop and then DRY it afterwards, and be done in just a few minutes now..I can not stress enough how easy this product is..I wanted one years ago when they first came out and did not get one...I am so glad I did now.

[+] 8.0 Works better on tile than stone or grout
I looked at many reviews for hard-floor cleaners before deciding to get the Hoover H3060 FloorMate SpinScrub with the Portable Detail Kit.

DID NOT WORK INITIALLY: After assembling it, I could not get the trigger to dispense water. I then found a small (about 1/4 inch cube) white plastic piece which had broken off from the control rod at the base of the handle. Since I'm 90 miles from a service center, I used superglue to reattach the piece. That has worked for over a month now.

I have 3 kinds of hard floors: very smooth ceramic tile, stone tile that is somewhat smooth, and quarry tile that is quite rough. The floors have been mopped for 10 years; the grout was quite dirty.

Regarding GROUT: the FloorMate did not thoroughly clean the dirty grout for any of the tiles, using its grout-cleaning brush and the grout-cleaning solution. I tried both the grout cleaning brush and the smaller grout tool attachment. I bought a stiff grout brush at the hardware store and have cleaned the grout manually. That was a major pain, but I do have hopes that the FloorMate will tend to keep the grout clean, since it picks up the dirty water instead of leaving it on the grout.

Regarding CLEANING: the FloorMate is very good on the smooth tile, good on the smoother stone tile, and okay on the rough quarry tile. As others have observed, it is awesome to see the dirty water in its tank, knowing that dirt had been on my floors. For both the stone tiles, the FloorMate is not as good as manually scrubbing, but it's good enough for me.

Regarding DRYING: the Floormate is excellent at leaving the floor dry for the smooth tile. As it cleans, it sucks the dirty water into the recovery tank. It is also quite good at leaving the smoother stone tile dry. The rough stone tile has wet spots that it will not dry, whether one goes over it in clean mode or in wet pickup mode. These spots eventually air dry. Presumably, this leaves some dirt behind.

Regarding the PORTABLE DETAIL KIT: the kit has an attachment that allows one to get to difficult areas, such as behind the toilet. I did not find that the attachment dried the floor as well as the main brush. There is also an attachment for cleaning grout which was not very effective.

DRY VACUUM: I have not tried to use this as a dry vacuum. Previous comments indicate it's no good at that task. I sweep or vacuum (with a real vacuum, not the FloorMate) the floor before using the FloorMate.

SUMMARY: I'm happy that I have the FloorMate. It definitely is an improvement over mopping, leaving the floors cleaner and drier. I think a brush with longer bristles might work better on stone. I don't think the portable detail kit is particularly useful. A sponge is about as good for the area behind the toilet, and manual scrubbing is what's needed for dirty grout.

[+] 10.0 great for stone and tile
I bought this machine over a year ago, and waited to review it so I could speak from experience. I think this is a fantastic machine! I have all hard floors: slate, porcelain tile, linoleum and painted concrete. I use this on all these floors with great success. In particular, it is wonderful on my natural slate floors which are uneven and rough--I have not been able to use mops, sponges or microfiber cloths with much success because they rip up so quickly. (I also have wood floors but I have not used this on them because of concern with water damage.) I also do not use any of the detergents: I only use water. I am constantly amazed at how well this cleans as evidenced by the dirty water with debris in it.

I find there are 2 drawbacks. The machine is a bit heavy to maneuver and I usually end up with soreness on the inside of my thumb, but that is a small price to pay so I don't have to mop or get on my hands and knees. The front plastic attachment that fits over the brushes came off early on (probably due to the abuse it gets going over the rough slate floor), but that was easily remedied with some tape. Of note is that I have found that you need to disassemble the resevoirs and tip the machine on its side so the brushes dry well for about a day otherwise a mold smell will occur.

I would definitely buy another one. This has been a huge time-saver for me.

[+] 2.0 Lasted 6 wks - calling for repairs - keep looking.
I ordered this at the end of January and was very pleased with the ease and convenience especially since my home is filled with tile floors. Unfortunately, the durabilty of the product is questionable at best. A mere six weeks later and it works but makes a HORRIBLE sound - the motor seems to be giving out after using it an average of 2 or 3 days a week for six weeks....possible 15 times. As others have mentioned, the water container is small but I dealt with that okay. The tools are a bit of a gimmick but since the main machine was okay - I wasn't worried. On the other hand, spending $150 for roughly 15 cleaning periods makes this a bit on the expensive side to say the least. Quality is simply NOT there. Compared to my roomba's which also give out after awhile, this is FAR inferior. They both lasted at least a year with frequent use - six weeks for this item is a new low. Very disappointed.

[+] 10.0 So much better than wet jet or a mop
I love my new spinscrub! I hate housework and my floors never seemed to get clean, but with this machine I can even get my teenage boy to help with the cleaning. The water that it picks up is disgusting, but I'm glad to know that mess isn't on my floors anymore. You do have to do a good job of vacuuming before you wash or it can get so clogged up (we have both a cat and a dog plus two kids) that it won't pick up any more water, but once you figure that out it's easy to fix.

[+] 2.0 MACHINE DOES NOT SUCK AND TOTALLY BLOWS
I purchases a Hoover H3060 FloorMate SpinScrub 800 Hard Floor Cleaner with Portable Detail Kit. I was not only disappointed, I was fairly disgusted.
The dirt from the vacuum feature and the floor cleaning feature all end up in the same tank. It is so disgusting to clean. There are nooks and crannies that will not rinse out. The vacuum feature only works for a short time, and then you have to take out the filter and clean it. It was such a G-d-awful mess to clean, that I can't imagine why anyone would go to all this time and all this trouble, rather than just use a mop.
Even returning it was a pain. Once the upper handle is snapped into place, it cannot be undone. I verified this by calling Hoover.
So that meant that the box it came in would not fit it for the return.
I did manage to get another box and shipped it back. Goodbye and good riddance.

[+] 10.0 Hoover floormate
No more spilled buckets. No more spreading dirt around with a mop. The Floormate puts down clean solution and vacuums up the dirty water into a separate container. Floors dry fast.

[+] 10.0 I love it!
I replaced a Bissell Flip-It machine that was almost totally worthless with this machine. I hate to clean but if I have to then I want the tools to work. I use this machine on both tile and laminate floors, they haven't been this clean since we moved in two years ago and there are no streaks. You have to go over each area at least two or three times but it cleans and vacuums up the solution very well if you're methodical. I like it so much I'm going to buy another one for my daughter as a house warming gift (in addition to the requisite cash).

We use it in a lab where dust is an issue. Nice and easy to use.

[+] 8.0 Don't expect to clean those scuff marks...
This product does work as advertised in that it does clean your tile floors of light to mediunm dirt, but will not clean ground in dirt or scuff marks. The bristles on the brushes are too soft and the machine does not have enough up front weight. As long as your expectation are such I do recommend this machine.

[+] 10.0 I didn't know how dirty my floors were
I am another person who took a trial run with the Hoover and almost threw up when I saw the dirty water in the tank. That reinforced our need for this product! The key definitely seems to be going back and forth slowly. And, make sure you clean all of the parts after every use! They get really disgusting, but they are fairly easy to clean just by running them under hot water. I use ammonia as my cleaning solution -- it's cheap and effective, and unlike other products, it does not leave any kind of a sticky or waxy film.

The only cons: like others, I think the grout brush attachment is pretty much worthless. Also, if I stop using it for a few minutes, it will leak some water droplets on the floor, but I just wipe them up with a towel after I'm done.

[+] 6.0 Floormate Review
I purchased the Hover Floormate to use on my tile floors. At first I was thinking I had made a big mistake, not to worry, because it could go back. I used it the second time and I liked it a lot better. Cleaning in the bathrooms was really great! I used the attachments around the baseboards and around the commodes. Worked really well. My floors seemed cleaner to me. I didn't have to get my hands messy. The little debris that normally flies around when you sweep no longer flies around while cleaning the floors. That means less dusting! If I could improve or add something, it would be a brush with longer bristles on the scrubber. My tile is not even and I need something to get in the groves.

[+] 6.0 Hmmmm
Although I like the versatility and ease of use, I am not impressed at all with the vacuum function. I have to say, though, that the extra tools really make cleaning easier.

[+] 8.0 Much better than the mop and bucket
My mom bought an original Hoover Floormate 6 years ago and I used to borrow it all the time, until she told me to get my own. I bought my Hoover Floormate H3060 4 years ago. I really like mine more than hers because of the wet pickup feature, which does a much better job drying the floors compared to the original. Neither one of us have had any problems with our Floormates yet. I've replaced my filter a few more times than her because I have a cat and 2 kids.

I did not like the original Hoover cleaner that comes with the machine. I just use distilled white vinegar and water mixed 50/50. My house is about 500-600 sq feet of laminate flooring and I feel that the tank is perfect sized for that. I don't know what everyone complains about having to refill and empty the tanks multiple times for that size area.

I do notice that I need to push down on the head a little bit on sticky and excessively dirty areas. I also need to go over these areas a couple of times, but that's no different than a mop.

The best part of this machine is the dirty mop water picked up as you are cleaning. It does not leave streaks after everything is dry. It only takes 3-5 minutes and your floor is completely dry.

The biggest reason I have only given this machine 4 stars is because after you are done using the machine, it leaks water back onto your floor. I always put mine into my walk-in shower and then put it back in the closet the next day.

[+] 10.0 Great Floor Cleaner
The Hoover H3060 FloorMate - works great for me!! This is the second one I have purchased. I had the smaller version for 8 years and I loved it. The 8 year old one finally gave out. Bought the H3060 the next day. If you aren't sure on whether or not you will like this device - buy the smaller one first. I wouldn't be without it. It just makes sense - sucks up all the dirty water while you are scrubbing. Haven't tried the attachments that came with it yet.

[+] 8.0 Hoover 3060- Great for Floors!
I have used all of the floormates from the first they came out with. The $99 range one is not recommended!! They tear up easily, as I went thru 2 of those in a year before getting this model. The design is much improved, it will scrub, then dry(great suction) your floors in no time. I would NEVER go back to a filthy mop again(even though i would mop, rinse & remop over & over!)This or the model just below(have it too, without the attachment)are great!
