[+] 10.0 Really like it
I clean houses for a living and one day my Shark vac died and I had to buy another vac right away to replace it. First I bought a Dirt Devil vac and it was so loud it was deafening and I had to return it. I saw favorable reviews on Amazon for this vac so I thought I would give it a try. It really is a nice vac. I use it a lot to vac hardwood floors of the houses I clean and it does a great job. I didn't think I would use the rotating brush option much because I didn't think it would do as good of a job as a big upright, but looking at the stuff that collects in the cup, I have to believe it does a pretty darn good job. I especially like using the brush option in small areas like beside toliets and in rooms that just have a lot of stuff in them and it is hard to manuver a big upright vac. Overall, this is just a great vac and a great price.

[+] 10.0 Great little machine!
I'm on my 2nd Flair and absolutely love it!!! I will use no other stick vacuum.

It has great suction, picks up every thing, does not scratch my floor and even works pretty decently on my area rugs. I love that you can clean the canister and filter. And the cord is perfect, I can do each room w/out having to replug.

It does get warm after a long use, but what wouldn't. I used my last one so much I killed it. It wasn't a malfunction, just basic wear and tear. I see some users expect it to last a life time. Every electronic will eventually stop working and for $50 you can't go wrong!

[+] 10.0 Good product
I was looking for something that would work well on stairs and small areas. I found this product to be as good as the reviews I had read. It picks up things that our regular Oreck vacuum misses. It is also extremely easy to clean out. I would highly recommend this product.

[+] 10.0 Great Vacuum for Tile Floors
The Hoover Flair is great! I needed a good vac to use on my slate tile floors (about 1,000 sq ft). I was using a $60 Kenmore model 26082 yellow canister vac, but it has always had poor suction and the wheels didn't roll smoothly (they rub against the wheel wells due to a flawed design). I have a top-of-the-line Kenmore upright that does an outstanding job on my carpets, but it doesn't do that well on the floors.

I was concerned at first about the nozzle not being as wide as my old vac, but it is twice as efficient and I can get into more spaces. The suction is strong over the full width of the nozzle. This is the first vac I've ever owned that actually sucked up dirt and cat litter on the sides of the nozzle against the baseboards. Most vacs say they are designed to do it, but you usually have to use the hose manually to pick up the dirt next to the baseboards. The amount of dirt and pet hair in the dirt cup from a weekly vacuuming with the Hoover Flair is more than twice what the Kenmore canister would pick up.

I love how lightweight the vac is and how the head swivels effortlessly to maneuver in tight and awkward spaces. Much easier than dragging around my old canister vac. It's also much quieter--it doesn't have that high-pitched whine that some vacs have.

The only thing I would change would be to add 5 to 10 feet of cord length. Other than that, it is an excellent design and a great value for the price!

[+] 6.0 great until it broke
I've owned this for 6 months. I had difficulty attaching the body to the head as it never seemed like it clicked into place and I couldn't push it in any more. A few weeks ago the head fell off and when I was pushing it back on, the neck piece broke. Now it can't be used at all.

while it worked, it worked great, but they need to rethink the connection at the bottom

[+] 4.0 great vacuum, but doesn't last
When I first bought this vacuum in Jan it worked like a charm. By June it started performing poorly. Sometimes it stops in the middle of vacuuming. I would not recommend it. Buy a small car vac instead.

[+] 10.0 Hoover S2220 Stick Vacuum
WOW !! Finally I have a stick vac that works. For years my husband and I would fight about how the rechargable vacuum stink. When I told him I was buying a new one with a cord like the one we had when we got married, he say why they all stink, but this time when he used it, he was suprised and finish the job without complaining. Thanks Hoover. It replaced Eletrolux Pronto 2-1.

[+] 8.0 Good kitchen electric broom
I bought this as a kitchen/hard wood floor vacuum in hopes it would do a better job of keeping the dog hair dust bunnies under control. My traditional broom/dustpan would send them flying through the air to relocate elsewhere. So far, it does a good job on kitchen floor crumbs and an adequate job with the dog hair. If too much is sucked up (when I haven't vacuumed for a day, well, many days actually), the dog hair tends to clog the roller so I have to stop and pull out the clog. As with any bagless vacuum, I live with getting a bit dirty emptying the canister and filter in exchange for not having to purchase/replace bags. The canister/filter is relatively easy to empty and reinstall. The unit does get hot if run for a while. The cord isn't as long as I'd like. Biggest complaint: the unit is not self standing. I'm careful to set it down on the floor rather than lean it against a wall or furniture, as it will slid and fall.

[+] 10.0 works better than high dollar vacuums
This little stick picks up more dog hair than any vacuum I've tried. And though it is disgusting to empty the filter cup - that is the point of a vacuum. My home is mostly tile/wood with limited carpets. Does equally well on both surfaces. One time it shut down because it overheated on the carpet, but it was fine after a rest.
Highly recommend especially for small homes with pets.

[+] 8.0 Bare floors? Get this!
Because we have an old house, we have old oak floors. Sweeping with a broom never did enough to get everything up and spread the dust all over everything. This little vac is great! Really does a job on the wood floors! I only have 3 rugs and The Flair is good enough for them. Also like the clear dust "bag" so that you know when it is getting full and, therefore, less efficient. Worth every penny!

[+] 8.0 Great stick vac!
I vacuum my town house every two days and this vac does everything I need it to do. I vacuum all of the downstairs (approx. 1200 sq.ft) tile with several area rugs, the upstairs bathrooms and area rugs, and my carpeted stairs and this vac performs excellently throughout. It doesn't overheat, is very maneuverable, quiet, and very light in weight. The ability to turn the power nozzle on and off so easily is a great feature for switching from rug to tile and back without having to stop. The cord a good length and is easy to roll up and take off the vacuum. Keep in mind that this vacuum is not designed to clean entirely carpeted rooms. The only reason I didn't give this 5 stars is I would like to have all of the filters be washable. I would recommend this vacuum to anyone who has lots of hard floors with rugs to clean.

[+] 10.0 No Gripes
I don't know much about vacuums, but I know this one sucks hard enough for me (in a good way). I used to have a Roomba and it had a hard time picking up lint and stuff like that on my carpet, but this thing makes quick work of it. My floors haven't looked this clean since I moved in.

I'd heard about the overheating issues, but didn't have any problems vacuuming my whole apartment in one go. Recommended!

[+] 10.0 Perfect for floors and quick clean up
I had a rechargeable cordless sweeper and it wasn't do that great of a job. I like my Hoover vacuum so I got this one. It's perfect for going over the wood and stone floors. It also works for a quick once over on very low pile carpets and the hall runner. I wouldn't rely on it as my only vacuum if I had lots of carpeting, or very plush carpets.

[+] 10.0 If you are looking for a floor vac that works this is the one!!!
After my old Eureka floor vac died from years of doggie hair I was besides myself, after a trip to Best Buy which left a bad taste in my mouth from the sales staff that ignore you, I was pleased to find this little red gem on Amazon. It swivels so doing the corners on my kitchen and hardwood floors in super easy, I know a few people said this one is so loud...they must have very sensitive hearing, if it is it's because it has A LOT of power to get the job done. Highly recommend this for anyone.

[+] 2.0 Good While It Lasted (Only 2 months!!)
This vacuum seem to have a MAJOR overheating problem. After less than 5 minutes of continued use, it overheats. There are no real symptoms besides its hot sides, but it dies after that. It is a really easy to use and relatively powerful vacuum, so I really liked it initially. However, when the first one broke down after 2 months (due to overheating), I actually decided to give it another chance by buying a new one since it seemed to have no other flaws besides overheating. But I was once again disappointed after the second one died in 2 months again, and this time, I was even careful not to use it continuously for more than 5 minutes. My fiance was vacuuming this time and did not know about it, so he used it for about 5 minutes, shut it off, went to the other room to continue vacuuming, but it just died. So, my recommendation is -- don't buy this if you use it more than an occasional mess cleanup because it is not made to vacuum a whole room without stopping.

[+] 10.0 Great vac
I have used this vac 3 times in my small, hardwood floored studio. I am very satisfied with it. I am a big hairshedder and this thing has picked up everything so far on the hardwood floor setting. I have tried to use the carpet setting on my little kitchen rugs and this thing sucks hard, and I have to go down to the hardwood floor setting to make sure I don't vacuum up the whole rug. Emptying out the thing is easy and not so bad. It is a great buy and I highly recommend it for hardwood floors.

[+] 2.0 Scratches hardwood floors
About two months after purchase it started to scratch my hardwood floors. It works great on tile but has made a mess of my hardwood. I tried everything and can't get it to stop scratching the floor. I wasn't impressed by the power brush feature either. Buy something else.

[+] 10.0 Very happy with my purchase...
This vacuum performs much better than I was hoping for! Light-weight & easy to maneuver around furniture. I have 3 dogs & this does a wonderful job picking up dog hair. The power nozzle is quite powerful for a stick vac. I'm very pleased with my Hoover!

[+] 10.0 Just Great!!!
This is a great little vac. I just love it. It's great for a everyday pickup. Suction is really surprising. It's cheap enough that if it breaks in a year just get another. As far as overheating not a problem here. But I did remove the side filters just incase. It does get pretty hot. You really don't need those filters. I have a cat and vacuuming once a week is a bad idea. So I use this everyday and the big vac once a week to save my back. As for the dust cup being small just empty it. Whats the big deal. I would definitly buy this again. Some of the reviews say the belt can't be replaced but it can. Remove screws on the bottom of the beater brush head and get a new belt from a Hoover web site and there you have it.

[+] 8.0 Effective but LOUD
After reading loads of reviews on loads of vacuums, I settled for this one. I didn't want to spend too much as it seems none had that many great reviews. We can put men in space but can't figure out how to make a vacuum for hardwood floors. Overall it is effective and I am pleased with its performance. The cord gives it power that the cordless just doesn't have. The problems are that it has a shrill scream (yes I wear ear plugs when I have to do the whole house)and if you pivot too quickly it marks the floor. I will continue to wait for the perfect vacuum.

[+] 10.0 Excellent product and great suction power!
I've had a Hoover electric broom for the past 15 years that I used every day and when it shot craps I immediately replaced it with this broom. I liked the one that I had, but I absolutely love this one. It has great suction power - more than enough for all hard floors - and because it has the power nozzle, it also works well on area rugs. I just bought another one - one for my mom because she liked it too. It's very easy to empty also.

[+] 6.0 not the best
I bought four of these vacoom cleaners. I love the product, it cleans well but for me they never lasted more than 4 or 5 months. The machine looses suction power once something gets stock in the brush, even after pulling it out. The last one I got broke last week. I think I am going for another model this year.

[+] 8.0 PB
It has rubbber wheels, bagless adn light weight. This little sweeper stands on it own in the corner. I like the swivel head and flexable head to get under cabinets. The only draw back that I have is that it does get warm quickly but other thatn that it does a great job picking up bird seed and dog hair from my lamanited floors.

[+] 10.0 Totally Satisfied
After a month of almost daily use of this vacuum, I have no complaints and am totally satisfied. It appears to be sturdy, is quite powerful, and is relatively quiet. I use it mostly on a bare kitchen floor with a toddler about who makes frequent use necessary. I sometimes use it as well on low-pile carpets, where it works just fine.

[+] 8.0 Great performance
I have had this vac for a few weeks now and I am impressed with its performance for such a lightweight vac. It works effectively on my hardwood kitchen floor picking up crumbs and cat hair. A simple flick of the switch and it does a great job on the area rug under the table after my grandchildren visit. I like how it stands by itself when I have to move on to the next electrical outlet and its swivel action. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is the filter is a pain to clean. All the cat hair sticks to the filter instead of falling down into the cup. I found brushing it off with an old toothbrush works well as long as you're in the garage or outside. My husband likes it so well he is thinking of buying another for the basement.

[+] 10.0 Hoover Flair Extraordinaire!
I read a few of the negative reviews on the Hoover Flair but decided to purchase one because there were way too many positive five star plus reviews and I am so glad I did! Great little vacuum! Don't have any pets, just one hairy husband. It works great for general dusting on our wood floors. It wasn't meant for heavy duty vacuuming but that is fine because I wanted something light and easy to store for quick pick-ups. It is easy to put together and I love the color. Go for it!

[+] 10.0 Great Little Vacuum!
After reading other reviews, I ordered the Hoover S2220. I was not disappointed. It performed great on my wood floors and area rugs. I was a little concerned because no instructions came in the box. None were needed. This is a great little vacuum!

[+] 10.0 Better than a hand vac
I was "reluctantly" looking for another hand held vac aka Dust Buster when I came across the Hoover S2220 Flair Bagless Upright Stick Vacuum. The selling points for me were that it was electric, upright and I wouldn't have to worry about the charge running its course while vacuuming. It is lightweight and the on off button converts easily to bare floors or carpet. The swivel floor nozzle works fine on area rugs or small carpeted areas and does a great job on hardwood floors. The 20 foot cord length allows me to easily clean my kitchen and dining area and the EZ empty dirt cup holds more dirt than the hand vacs I have had in the past. I am not saying that this is a product without flaws but most are minor and its performance far outweighs these inconveniences.

[+] 8.0 Great Daily
Due to the positive reviews here, thought for the low price I would give this vac a shot. For the price I cannot really complain. Also is my first stick vac experience (main home has central vac) so I may be complaining about things that are common among this class of vac. Also my first product review so I structured it to actually try to help other buyers. Please let me know how the review can be improved. Happy Shopping!

Use:
Daily on hardwood and travertine.

Pros:
Lightweight
Decent Power
Maneuverability
No floor scratching

Cons:
Short Cord
Fills up quickly (Dog hair! Ugh.)
Same Filter as Dustbuster/Handvac
Loud/Heats up on larger jobs

Overall:
Does it's job, but would not recommend for primary use in larger spaces or for pet hair clean-up - daily maintenance has proved very useful though.

[+] 8.0 Small but Powerful
This vacuum is small, yet powerful. It gets under places, like the beds, that the bigger vacuums can't get to. It has two settings, one for floors and one for carpets. However, when using the carpet setting, you have to be careful not to get the electrical cord caught under the nozzle or it might chew up the cord a bit. It is lightweight and easy to maneuver. I've had several quick vacuums, and this one is by far the best I have ever had. My daughter needed a vacuum for college, and this is the one I bought for her. It is a great little vacuum. I would definitely recommend it.

[+] 10.0 ANIMAL LOVERS this is for YOU!!
This vac is awesome! I have a Birman cat in the house (long fluffy hair...her nickname actually is "Fluffy Cat") and her loose hair would lay flat on carpet and my big vac could never get it up off the carpet. This little vac just picks it right up and picks up dog hair easily as well. We have horses and we track in dirt and even pieces of hay on our clothes and this little red vac just doesnt even argue and picks it all right up! I love it! I have hardwood floors with area rugs. This vac is the BOMB! Only $50!!! I want one for every room now! ha ha And I have a small house! I used to sweep the floors with a broom, but that was a mess with piles of hair and dirt, prop the broom on something, then go get the pan and brush and hope nothing has ran through your piles of debris before you get back. You never get it all. I found myself only wanting to sweep a few times a week because of this drudgery. This little red vac just sits up against the wall by my desk and I now run over the floor EVERYDAY because it is so effective and worth while and reaches under so much and so flexible in the vaccum head it makes it fun! If I have company coming I put it in the closet of course, but so compaq that I just leave it out most days. You will find the cord is short and you might have to plug in throughout the house, but that is part of the price for having a vac you can store and easily move around without drapes of cord on the back of it. Also, just plan on removing the filter cup after each use because it will need it. This vac gets everything. I dont use a little brush on the filter like instructions suggest, I just pull off the hair and rap it on the side of the trash can and replace. JMO. I highly recommend this cool vaccum cleaner! Best $50 I've spent in a long time!
PS I am on the Amazon Vine program but this was not a freebie to evaluate and review. I just love this vac so much that I wanted to review it no strings attached!

[+] 10.0 A super little sucker!!
We don't have any carpet in our little house but two constant shedders (1 cat & 1 dog). With a new baby we have very little free time and it's much easier, not to mention faster, to whip out my Power Stick and make a quick pass over the floors rather than dragging around my huge vaccum and trying to use the nozzle to pick up all the hair. Oi vey! My husband thought at first that is was a frivolous purchase ("We already have a vaccum, and only two area rugs") but has since come around and is using it himself now. We are in love with our Hoover Power Stick!!!

[+] 10.0 Love my New Toy!!!
The reason I say "toy" is because using this stick vacuum is like child's play. This is so much better than sweeping. I have ceramic flooring in my kithen, dining and living area and the vacuum is just perfect for quick and easy cleaning. I love the low profile for ease of getting under chair, sofas and tables. The maneuverability is awesome....gets in the corners and turns on a dime. Cleaning the dirt holder and filter is quick and easy. The cord is long enough to reach throughout my large room and takes up so little space in my closet. I HIGHLY recommend this product.

[+] 10.0 Hoover S2220 stick vacuum
This little machine is a mighty giant! When I first got it and tried it out on my rug it wasn't picking up anything, then I discovered I had not pushed the power button for rug cleaning. Now that I smartened up, this vacuum makes my life so much easier. I used to have to lug the heavy vacuum up from downstairs. Now I just use this little hoover and I believe by the amount of dog hair in the cup, that it does as good a job or better than my regular vacuum. Second nicest thing is that it hangs from a nail in my closet, out of view. Very satisfied, I got my monies worth on this item.

[+] 8.0 Love my vac
My first Hoover vac had a slight crack in the power nozzle. Amazon was terrific with the exchange for a new one. (Extremely helpful and courteous Amazon phone associate, second vac arrived next day, easy return of cracked vac) The vacuum is lightweight, swivels great, very good suction, and I'm very pleased. It does get a bit warm, but it has never shut down by overheating. I would prefer a longer cord.

[+] 10.0 Great for hard surface floors and area rugs
I love this vacuum ! After waiting for years for a good stick vac, I finally found one that does it all. You can turn the brush head on and off with a switch of a button. I use it without the brush on for my hard wood floors, kitchen and bathroom floors. When I want to clean my area rugs and throw rugs, I just turn on the brush head.
Only downfall to this vac is that it's top heavy and has to lean against something to stand up.

[+] 2.0 So so suction & short life
I bought this vacuum at the end of November 2007 and got it by December, well now it's February of 2009 and the vacuum died at the end of January. My apartment isn't that big and I'm not a messy person so I would have thought my once a week vacuuming wouldn't be a problem. However it only did so so on the pick up and at times I would have to go over an area more then 5 times to get everything up even though it wasn't much. Also because it took so long it would overheat and shut off so that I had to wait a while for it to cool down to finish. I emptied it after every use and cleaned the bottom out once a month but last month it died so that nothing picks up, the bottom doesn't spin and you get the noise of the vacuum without the use of it. I would recommend looking at another product because after 14 months I need to get a new vacuum.

This replaced a broken Electrolux Pronto. My main goal was to find something that is light and does not take too much space to store. On the plus side, it cleans much better than the cordless Pronto. On the minus side, the cord is a bit short, so I have to stop and move the plug once or twice when cleaning.
