[+] 4.0 Put an awesome actor in a horrible movie and this is what you get
I had only watched the first Indiana Jones film before watching this one, but I don't need to watch the other two originals to know that they're much better than this. The plot is really ridiculous and full of big holes, like how they let the traitor keep following them around and a zillion more that you don't have to keep an eye out for to notice. Most of the acting is ok except for Harrison Ford who is still hilarious and very entertaining even though the rest of the movie elements fail to complete the package. The story mainly ruined it, I mean a plot centered around aliens really didn't fit the series. It was way too far-fetched and loses your interest pretty fast. The visual effects are pretty much up to par and are really well done. The music is, of course, spot-on as John Williams is the composer. So overall I recommend you do NOT watch this movie. Even if you rent it for $1 at your local Safeway it's a wasted dollar and also a wasted two hours unless you just want to be entertained a bit by Harrison Ford.

[+] 4.0 Left the Biblical themes behind for tired old typical one.
Without giving away the end i will just say you are better off passing on this movie. Indy has always been my fav movie charecter but this movie ruined the memory.
I even thought George Lucas was brilliant for his historic films. Seeing this i realized what a 1 trick Pony he really is.
I wanted to give it 1 star. I have waved all my friends/family away. There is a reason the movie is already in the Budget Bin for a new release. It gets 2 stars for nostalgia only.

[+] 10.0 Indiana Jones is back!
And he's still kicking some behind like only he can!!

Personally i loved the movie and it only gets better with more viewings. I know some had some issues with the alien twist, but for me it made sense that as an archeologist, Indy would have to deal with this issue sooner or later. One only has to look at ancient civilizations to realize the tremendous impact the 'Gods' had on many of them. And those 'Gods' came from the sky... people can draw their own conclusions on this. I did find it refreshing that they just didnt make the aliens little green men from mars. They were interdimensional beings, and i loved it. I've always been fascinated by UFO's so i guess that's why i had no issues with this story for Indy.

As for the dvd itself, it has many fantastic features that touch on the different aspects of making this movie, and a brief look at the history of Indy.

Overall, i highly recommend the movie and the 2 disc version of the dvd.

[+] 8.0 Indy's Back
After a 15-year hiatus, Harrison Ford has reprised his best role as the swash-buckling, fedora-wearing archaeologist/university professor Indiana Jones. This time, Indy's up against Russian agents led by a sword wielding female commander, played by Cate Blanchett. The two groups are in pursuit of a crystal skull, which has powers related to a mythical city of gold.

Indy, along with his partner Mac, were captured by the Russians in Mexico. Upon returning to the U.S., Indy and the Russians head to Roswell, New Mexico, site of the infamous "Area 51", which is loaded with secrets. Indy is forced to locate a box containing the mummified remains of an extra-terrestrial who crashed in the desert. But, Indy has a surprise in store. After managing to escape from the Russians, Indy wanders into a specially-constructed city with mannequins designed to measure the effects of an atomic blast. Indy manages to save himself by hiding inside a lead-protected refrigerator. But, the adventure's just beginning.

Indy is then convinced to head to Peru at the behest of Mutt Williams (Shia LaBeouf). Mutt's friend Professor Oxley, played by John Hurt, has been captured because he knows the location of the crystal skull. Oxley is also a colleague of Indy's. It is said that whoever finds the skull and returns it to its rightful place will gain knowledge beyond their wildest dreams. But, the Russians are on to the skull as well, and its a race between them and Indy to find the skull first. Along the way, Marion Ravenwood, Indy's original love interest from "Raiders of the Lost Ark" returns, played once again by Karen Allen. Marion holds a revealing secret that surprises Indy. Marion has softened somewhat over the years, but she still holds a spell over Indy.

Harrison Ford is once again at his swashbuckling best as Professor Jones. Indy has become Ford's signature role over they years; even above his role of Han Solo in the first "Star Wars" trilogy. Karen Allen is very good as the gutsy but softer Marion, and Shia LaBeouf does a surprisingly good job as Mutt. There is lots of great action scenes throughout: I especially liked the scenes with the giant ants, and, of course, there's some great comedy from Indy, too. This film might not stack up to the first three movies in the series, but it is still very good and definitely worth watching.

I highly recommend this action-packed movie. Its a must-see for Harrison Ford fans and fans of the first three Indiana Jones movies.

[+] 8.0 A somewhat different kind of Indy movie...
Before I saw this my mother and some others said this was'nt as good as the first three Indy movies. And I have to agree, they were right. Me and my brothers grew up in the 80's 90's on the Indiana Jones series. I do understand Harrison Ford is ageing and can't do all the action that he use to do. Sad Sean Connery was not in the film, although you do see him in the photo aswell as Marcus on Indy's desk. But this was'nt a totally bad movie either, it had its moments good and bad. Be cool if Harrison Ford, Spielberg, Lucus decided to make ONE more Indy movie and let it be "Indiana Jones, & The lost city of Atlantis"...

[+] 2.0 I'm glad I RENTED it....they should not have bothered...
From watching the 'special edition' interviews, what stands out in my mind is how right Steven Spielberg was when he initially expressed reservations about making anymore sequels to IJ, how he took special care to give a satisfying ending to 'Last Crusade'that would neatly wrap things up, how he had doubts about using the alien skull idea that Lucas was pushing.......You shoulda gone with your gut Steven!! You could feel the script writer going thru the previous IJ movies in order to establish a formula so that this one would follow the same patterns- the only problem is, that in this one you know exactly what he is doing and what scenes are comparable to the earlier ones. Shia L does not have the same natural charisma as people like Harrison or Sean Connery, much less Johnny Depp, etc. -that makes you want to watch what they are doing. The wedding scene is trite as is just about everything else in the movie. Ack- go watch 'Last Crusade' and try to forget about this one........

[+] 6.0 Not great, but not awful either
Qualifying as gleeful entertainment, Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull definitely doesn't come close to the greatness achieved by the first three Indy flicks, but it isn't nearly as bad as many have claimed it to be either. Harrison Ford makes a triumphant return to his defining role as the fedora wearing, whip wielding adventurer; who is coerced by a young greaser named Mutt (Shia LaBeouf) into taking a trip to Peru to rescue his mother (Raiders of the Lost Ark love interest Karen Allen) and friend (John Hurt) who knows the secrets of the fabled Crystal Skull. With a team of Soviets (led by Cate Blanchett) hot on his tail as well, the aging Indy certainly has his hands full. The biggest flaw of Kingdom of the Crystal Skull is that it is ever so predictable. Any of the big twists, revelations, or surprises you will see coming a mile away; and the biggest plot element of all is so weakly inserted here that you'll wonder just what it's doing in an Indiana Jones movie. Still though, there's just something about the film that still makes it worth seeing regardless, with spectacular stunt work and action sequences, and the fact that Ford still stands tall as one of the best screen heroes in all of cinema history. All in all, despite its many flaws, Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull is an enjoyable romp that many will no doubt be split on, but in the end, seeing Indy back in action is reason enough to celebrate.

[+] 6.0 Indiana Jones & the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull
I was so eager to see this movie but ended up not making it to the theatre to see. I'd heard all the hype about it being a disappointment but still planned on buying it to add to my collection. I'm glad I did buy it after watching it. It's no Raiders of the Lost Ark but still is enjoyable. One thing that I did find grating was the pg-13+ language in it. I don't remember that in Raiders as much. So this chapter is pg-13 for more than the action/ violence so be warned. It was nice to see the Marian/ Indie romance pick up where it left off. I personally do feel that Harrison Ford would be stretching it way too far to pursue this character any further unless just in a supporting role. He can't carry that type of action anymore believeably. On the other hand I could see this franchise picking up where it left off with the newcomer to the storyline continuing in Dad's footsteps... But be realistic in your expectations because lightening seldom strikes twice in the same spot!

[+] 6.0 What was this--a movie or a farce?
Since the first spotlighted reviewer wrote exactly what I had to say, I have to re-think "Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull." What is there new to say?

I adore Harrison Ford. Has he won that special Oscar yet? He should (but not for this role). Let's get right on to Karen Allen. "Marian, you're going to drive off the cliff." "Trust me, Indie. I know what I'm doing," and she does. She drives right onto a tree over the river and the car is gently delivered into the water. Wow! How is this possible? Because she is older and better? Because this is an Indiana Jones movie and the characters can do darn well anything they set their minds to doing. Then they skee-daddle right over a huge waterfall in that car. No problem. No broken bones. No concussions. Everyone lands a foot from their sitting place in the car and hops right back in. Then they do it again two more times over two more waterfalls.

But my favorite action scene is when Indie and is-his-name-Mutt-or-Mudd? are riding the motorcycle through campus, trying to escape mad Russians representative of the Three Stooges minus one. Indie is pulled off the bike right through that little car window. After he wrestles around with the Stooge a bit, he slips right out that window onto the motorcycle again! Holy Moly! At his age he's that agile?

One other thing that seriously bothered me was Indie opening the cocoons and allowing the folks inside to puff--go up in dust! No posterity! You'd think an archaeologist would know better.

I do have a favorite scene: At the end when he and Marian kiss, it's such an old geezer kiss. Come on, Lucas and Spielberg, even as geezers we can still pucker out a wet one.

I dozed off during this movie. I dozed during an Indiana Jones movie! What's wrong with the world? And that kid? Please don't make him the next "Indie" He doesn't have IT!

[+] 6.0 A fond, not excellent, fourth outing
I love Harrison Ford, Cate Blanchett and Shia LaBoeuf, but I did not love Indiana Jones and the Crystal Skull. I very much enjoyed the nods to previous Indiana Jones films, and the cinematography and special effects were excellent.

This outing didn't have the excitement and cohesiveness of Raiders of the Lost Ark, the sheer spectacle of The Temple of Doom, or the charm and heart of The Last Crusade. That said, this movie had some wonderful high points. If you don't like ants, there's a scene you should skip.

I wouldn't recommend this film for children under the age of five as there are a few scenes that might give them nightmares. This is an ideal adventure movie to watch with your older children.

[+] 8.0 I loved it.
I went into the theater with a smile on my face and left with one, too. Sure there are a few moments in there that I could do without, but when you look at the big picture, KotCS is a damned good film. I've since seen it three more times, and it doesn't get boring for me. It's almost non stop action.

I feel like this movie gets unfairly treated by an audience that not so much dislikes it, but outright refuses to accept its extra-terrestrial plot. For some reason, we can accept that a giant pillar of flame and smoke can melt a bunch of nazi's faces and then whisk them away to heaven or hell, or that a man can pull out another man's heart and have that man still live while being lowered into a pit of lava. However, we refuse to accept the possibility of alien life and its possible influence of early man and his view of "who your god is".

Another complaint I hear alot is that the CGI is "bad". Watch the 2nd disc and you'll see that, save for the ending, a majority of the action was done on giant sets with real stunt men. They actually built that entire retracting stairwell near the end. It's pretty cool.

Another gripe is "Ford looks too old." Are you even watching the movie? Of course he's older! They go out of their way to tell you that. He's even referred to as "old man" more than once by Mutt. Lucas and Spielberg did the smart thing and made that his character. Indy's getting on in years, and things aren't what they used to be. It was a conscious decision to make Ford play Indy much more like Connery played his father in The Last Crusade.

So is KotCS a "great" movie? No, its not my favorite of the series, and it wasn't even my favorite flick of the year, but god damned is it a good film. For me, it has held up to multiple viewing. I think KotCS will eventually be seen for what it is over the years: a lighthearted, action packed adventure with awesome visuals and sound, a great cast of characters, and yes a solid story.

[+] 10.0 Indy Jones does it again!
I missed out on seeing this at the theatre but the DVD version was okay. It was your typical Indiana Jones movie with all the excitement and the chase scenes which to me is one of the hallmarks of this series. Harrison Ford did it again. I wonder if he will continue this at the age of 70? Anyway I thought it was okay!

[+] 2.0 Lucas Strikes again, Spielberg along for the ride
Aliens and russian psychics are a major misfit for the Indiana Jones movies handled in the usual wooden, badly conceived, ham-fisted Lucasian fashion with Spielberg up-talking the whole crap-fest ... as usual. Seems these hacks just lucked out a couple of times inthe past and are living off of their reputations while mutilating everything that made their previous successes...successes.
The movie itself is non-stop action (basically one long chase scene) which relies heavily on over-the-top CG effects. The few references to the past movies was fun but the reveal at the end is well to add to just about every other review both pro and amateur...sucked (freakin aliens!?). This resembles so much of the really bad B-Movie knock-offs of Indiana Jones in the 80's just with a massively bloated budget. Don't bother with this Star Wars Prequel/War of the Worlds type garbage; download it and stick it to them like they stuck it to Indiana.

[+] 4.0 Very Disappointing fourth Indiana Jones Movie.
I love the Indiana Jones movies and really looked forward to another in the series. I am beginning to seriously think that Spielberg and Lucas are living off their reputation or are legends in their own minds. Neither has made a decent movie in quite awhile. After I watched it a second time (theater first, dvd second), my disappointment really became apparent. What I overlooked the first time became painfully obvious during the second viewing. Harrison Ford is an excellent actor but somebody forgot to do his makeup and he looked very old. Too old for some of the action he was supposed to be doing.
The biggest problem is that the basic premise/plot for this movie doesn't really make sense. The previous three Indiana Jones movies at least had a slight plausibility and realism though it takes a stretch to get there. This one was way too far gone and reminded me of some of the B-Movie clones of Indiana Jones. If you are a fan, you will be disappointed. If you have to see it, borrow a copy, don't waste your own money on it.

[+] 2.0 Aliens? Seriously??
I was extremely disappointed with this film. Mind readers and aliens belong on a Stargate sequel, not Indiana Jones, but that's exactly what happens here. There is some good action, some decent humor, but the plot is absolute garbage. For me, I'm going to pretend that this Indiana Jones movie never existed.

[+] 4.0 This Skull Never Had a Brain
The only thing missing from the plot of this movie is the kitchen sink. Rather than plot, and letting Harrison Ford have his usual sardonic romp, the writers and producers went through their "to do" lists from previous Indiana Jones movies and threw all that stuff in without regard to whether it moved the plot along, or was even entertaining. The result is a movie bloated with "stuff" and peopled actors who are going through the motions and counting the minutes until the camera finally runs out of film.

[+] 8.0 Entertaining Indiana Jones outing
"Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull" is an entertaining Indy film. It's no "Raiders" or even "Crusade," but it's good for what it is. Over-the-top action, a little romance, some vaguely paranormal archeological mystery: it checked all the boxes. Those who consider it unbelievable may want to look at the premises of the previous movies. You have to be willing to suspend your disbelief and accept the internal logic of Indiana Jones World. Ultimately, the film hewed to its own internal logic, moved at a decent pace, and was entertaining.

Shia LaBoeuf takes a lot of flak from reviewers, but I thought he did a good job with the material he had to work with. I cringed when he made his Brando-ripoff entrance, but that wasn't his fault - he didn't set up that shot, pick out his wardrobe or select a motorcycle. Frankly, he held up well against Harrison Ford, and although I'm not keen to see a Young Indiana Jones movie with him as Indy the Third, he was fine in this movie.

I loved Karen Allen in the original "Raiders of the Lost Ark." She stole that movie from Harrison Ford in virtually every scene, and Marion Ravenswood was as much as part of what made "Raiders" a classic as Indiana Jones. She was the girl next door who could also drink you and an Mongolian yak herder under the table. But in "Crystal Skull," I don't know if it was Allen or the script, but she came across as flat and unengaging.

Overall, this movie is at least worth a rent. And while you're watching, ponder the fact that 5000 year old civilizations had robust technology and elaborate traps that still work 5000 years later, while you probably have a hard time getting your car to start reliably.

[+] 4.0 I thought I would like it more when I owned it... wrong.
Still the same bad plot and horrible ending. Some movies, especially those recently revisited by Lucas, grow on me over time. I'm a big Star Wars fan, and Episodes 1-3, for the most part, did. I really wanted to like this movie since I still have fond memories of seeing the first three in the theaters as a kid. This one, with it's over the top plot, bad acting by Cate Blanchett, and low marks on the believability scale, just doesn't fit in with the other three Jones movies. It just could have been so much better. No wonder Harrison Ford held off on making this one for so long. He wanted to be old enough so the memory of it probably wouldn't last too long.

Maybe my son will like it someday since it's really a kid's movie. Until then, it'll be on the shelf collecting dust.

[+] 6.0 Not bad, not what it used to be
After so many years Mr. Ford put on his hat again, holstered his guns and grabbed his whip along.

In the past Indy had adventures with a supernatural edge; the basics were always human in nature. It was this humanity that made the movies so great. Special effects and action scenes never make up for a loss of that.

In my opinion the supernatural has taken over. The enemy blatantly displays more-than-human abilities which borders on the banal to me and the endgame is more than over the top, instead of merely being an apotheosis of the quest that runs through the movie.

But the action was good. Fun and with an enourmous wink woven through it all.

I liked the movie, but it wasn't nowhere near the quality of the Indy's of the past. I wouldn't mind seeing another one, but this time with Indy jr. in the lead. Maybe something like young Indy Jones series, only with a bigger budget and better story.

I don't get why people are so hard on this movie. I guess it didn't live up to their expectations based on the previous movies. Well, I was never an Indiana fan and I never watched any of the previous movies. At least, not all the way through. So this was really my first movie to the series and I thought it was a lot of fun. The alien thing was kinda weird but it didn't stop me from liking the movie. So stop hating.

A good friend of mine bought himself a Blue Ray player and a big old TV and then, as you do bought a couple of movies to watch and invited some friends over. I was the only person that went along for the show and about 20 minutes into this film I began to squirm.

Sequels get a bad rap, but this was unnecessarily bad. If you want to watch an Indiana Jones movie got and buy a copy of Raiders of the Lost Arc and sit back and enjoy it, this is not even close to being in the same class. What you get instead is Harrison Ford trying his best to work with a bad script, a horrible plot in a movie that lacks suspense, joy, excitement or clarity. Blanchett's horrible Russian accent immediately confirmed that nobody who made this movie gave a damn about its outcome - it was just a pay day.

That will teach him to buy movies without reading reviews first. Hopefully you are smarter than he was!

It's too bad that the movie was pushed as a classic Indiana Jones film. It's not. It plays off the others, but the story is lousy. The Fate of Atlantis would have been a much better story. Possibly one of the worst movies ever made, dare I put it right up there with WATERWORLD? I tried, I really tried but no matter what, I hated everything about this film. Everyone involved with this film, should be ashamed of themselves! It is time for Harrison Ford/Spielberg/Lucas and Co. to just stop and smell the Bengay. They are too old and this franchise ran it's course, as had STAR WARS. Move on or retire, please for the sake of all of us. And Shia Lebouf? Please, please, let Transformers 2 be good, 'cause this was not his most shining hour but he's young, he can move on, as long as he stays out of trouble. And Karen Allen? Not hard to see why she hasn't been working anymore. Too bad really but it's over. Couldn't wait to get this movie out of my house. Got it at the library, so wasted no money. I'm done and exhausted from disappointment.

[+] 2.0 Lucas and Spielberg's giant turd
In all seriousness, even with LOWERED EXPECTATIONS (I had heard this movie wasn't very good) the fourth Indiana Jones movie completely underwhelmed me. I kept waiting for a good action scene (Shia Lebuff jousting with a Russian dominatrix on a car does not count) or an interesting plotline or some kind of payoff...NOTHING. This movie is so far removed from the classic first two films (BTW, count me among those who loved Temple of Doom with its breakneck speed, thrills, general creepiness, etc.). Now, I did not have any problem with the extraterrestrial stuff, as there was plenty of supernatural mumbo jumbo in the first three films...however, the "quest" in this movie LED TO NOTHING!!! There was NO PAYOFF!!! I didn't buy Harrison Ford as an action star any more, the characters were dumb, and I was left with a palpable anger towards Spielberg and Lucas for ruining a great franchise. They spent years and years on this script...THIS is what they came up with? Disappointing, to say the least.

[+] 2.0 Ride value 3 stars, plot value 0 stars
Normally, you have to understand the Spielberg "action" sequences as taking physics and ignoring it but this show was just too much. Having faced the AK-47 in Iraq and read about Spetsnaz I can honestly say that four Spetsnaz with AK-47s firing from less than 20 meters would have killed all in the open car. Period. It went downhill from that point. Tracking devices the size of a lighter. Bad guys teleporting to the next location. Although they got cars from the 1950's I was shocked they didn't have the stars using SAT phones!

Since this was from the left wing "Heil"lywood they had to bring in HUAC and the "black list". UPDATE: 11 JUL 1995 US released a cache of Soviet cables that has been decoded during the Cold War called the Verona Project. Senator McCarthy was right! Alger Hiss WAS a Communist Agent. Hollywood WAS being used but Soviet agents!

Like all good students of Dr. Goebbels, Hollywood will keep perpetuating the lie. "If you tell a lie enough times and with enough passion the people (sheeple) will believe it." Dr. Paul Joseph Goebbels, 1939.

[+] 6.0 Worthy addition to the Saga
I was 11 years old when "Raiders" came out, so I grew up with Indy. With the release of "Skull" I'm now 38. So I'm starting to understand the plot line in this one that referred sometimes to getting older, a little wiser, and how the world has and is changing around me. So part of the experience of the movie is sentimental with me, as Indy is like an old friend that you feel you're having a reunion with, comparing notes with about how things are different but also somewhat picking up where you left off. Lucas was wise to place the story line 2 decades later, just like the real-life timeline.
The movie has a good mix of that "Saturday Morning Serial" adventure that George Lucas had in mind when he invented Indy along with some thoughtful mystery solving. A little of the action was contrived, mostly with Mutt's action sequences like the sword fight and swinging on the vines with the little monkeys, but all in all it was fine. The story line struck me as not quite as dark as Indy adventures sometimes got. Lucas and Speilberg have admitted in the past as mellowing with age and with raising families, and the story kind of reflects this. I think that if they had to do "Temple of Doom" today, it'd be written a lot "kinder and gentler". Remember the controversy of the release of "ET" with the federal agents with walkie-talkies in their hands instead of firearms?
Harrison Ford was in no danger of being stood up by anyone. In fact the way he first appeared in the movie was almost worth the price of the DVD alone, especially for long-time Indy fans. It made me say, "He's back!"
Get this 2-disc edition. For only 2 or 3 dollars more you are getting excellent supplemental goodies that you'd expect from a well-crafted DVD.
Get it.

[+] 4.0 Not The Strongest Movie in the Indiana Jones Franchise
Ugh, not a good movie. I was thoroughly disappointed on the whole with the new Indiana Jones movie and was glad that I only saw it via dvd rental.

Yes, the action was good and non-stop as to be expected, but the storyline wasn't even good. The previous three Indiana Jones movies had a pleasant balance of both action and storyline, but not this one.

Also, the action scenes seemed to be down almost entirely of CG/computer graphics and the CG looked so fake and unreal, which was another let down while watching this movie. I'd have thought with all the technology out there today, that the CG would have been a lot better quality... I guess I thought wrong.

[+] 6.0 Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of DISAPPOINTMENT
Watched the movie.... WHY DID THEY HAVE TO MAKE IT ALIENS??? That was a huge disappointment right at the beginning of the movie. And Shia's acting was mediocre in this one, like he was a tough guy Kid. Good FX though.

[+] 8.0 Crystal Skull
This is pretty much a must have for Indiana Jones fans. The blu ray version with a good sound system gives you better results than in any theater, accept for possibly Imax.
A few surprises and a good ending make it alot of fun.

[+] 6.0 Indiana Jones and the Movie That Doesn't Quite Work (Or Why Jumping the Shark is Now Known as Nuking the Fridge)
I love the Indiana Jones series, and when I was a teen I memorized the dialogue by watching Raiders over 100 times. Like many fans, I've been practically drooling over the possibility of Indiana Jones 4 for years. Alas, this was not really worth waiting for.

Don't get me wrong, it's great to see Ford wearing the fedora again, and Karen Allen can still light up the screen. Even Shia does a good job. The acting is fine. The problem is the script. If only we could have seen Frank Darabont's screenplay instead of Crystal Skull! The plot just groans along, with some of Spielberg's worst directing since his "Kick the Can" segment of the Twilight Zone movie.

Somehow the Indiana Jones franchise has done the opposite of the Star Trek films: here the odd numbered films are the good ones. Raiders and Last Crusade are fantastic films from beginning to end. Temple of Doom and Crystal Skull? Not so much. Maybe searching for a biblical artifacts works better than new age/alien pablum. I really hope they get together for Indiana Jones 5 (there are lots of good biblical artifacts left), and let the series go out on a high note.

[+] 8.0 Indiana Jones & The Kingdom of the Crystal Skull
Harrison Ford is showing his age. He is still pretty good with the action in the films he makes, but this one is not up to the standard of the first one or the first two Indiana Jones Films. The Indiana Jones films need to stop here. No more! Let us watch what we already have and enjoy what we already have.

[+] 10.0 It is what it is!
What's there to say? Indy Jones/Harrison Ford provide great tongue in cheek entertainment, just as 007/Sean Connery! What's not to like? Fun movie.

[+] 4.0 OH NO!!!!
This is so boring! The acting is cheesy as can be and I dont mean in a classic, Indiana Jones waay either. This is just bad bad bad. There are scenes in it where it is so obviously a Hollywood studio its laughable. I fell asleep 5 times trying to get through this awful movie. Harrison should have stopped at the last one. No chemistry between actors at all and the story is just forgettable due to how bad this movie is.

[+] 6.0 Missing the heart and humor of the early Indy films
Looking forward to a bit of Indiana Jones nostalgia, we rented this DVD with high hopes. High expectations may be what thwarted us, but this one just didn't hold up to the original Indiana Jones trilogy. There were dangerous insects, collapsing temples, car chases--all the requisite stuff for an Indy movie, but somehow the cleverness, the humor, and the heart were missing. Interactions between Indy and his old girlfriend and her son were wooden and forced and didn't really get the viewer on board. My favorite part was a sword fight between two men on fast-traveling, side-by-side jeeps, but much of the movie seemed like old stuff rehashed. Harrison Ford is still Harrison Ford, though a bit older and grayer, and that was worth about 2 of the 3 stars. Watch it if you must, but be forewarned that it is only a shadow of the first 3 movies in the series.

[+] 8.0 good movie!!
very interesting movie. I liked the adventure and the action. It was also interesting to see the references to events and previous movies. I would say this is mostly a movie for fans of Indiana Jones. A lot of the things that are mentioned here would be lost on someone that hadnt seen the earlier movies.
That being said, I liked it and will watch it more than just once or twice..

[+] 4.0 Indiana Jobnes & the Killing of a Legend
What a desperate waste this film was. Aliens? Really? That's what you came up with in 20 years? The film reeks of desperation and only Cate Blanchett comes away unscathed. The series "jumped the shark" with the refrigerator for sure. From there I knew things weren't going to get better.

[+] 4.0 Disappointing
I like most have been a Indy fan from the beginning. Most of his subsequent films in this series did not hold up to the impact of the first. However, this last offering is such a disappointment it was hardly worth your time viewing the movie. Obviously the magic is over!
