[+] 8.0 pretty good for the price
I liked this product well enough. The tread on the wheel had decent gription which allowed for controlled movements.

[+] 10.0 ABsolutely Amazing
Let me say this right here and right now: I don't know who was the one who first said that ab wheel exercises are super hard or are murder on your abs. All I know is that even Pavel Tsatsuline was wrong when he said that the ab-wheel is a torture device (or something to that affect).

Here is the deal, I don't know about the rest of the reviewers here but I hardly worked my abs before I got the Ironman Ab Wheel and after doing the kneeling version for a few days I now can do partial pikes from a standing position. Is it easy? NO. But it's not as difficult as people make it out to be.

Now about the device itself. I thought that it will be flimsy because it's plastic, but it's actually quite sturdy and putting it together was a piece of cake. The handle went on easily and I was in business a few seconds after I took it out of the box. Speaking of the handle... Those of you who are complaining that the plastic handle is too hard and that it hurts your palm I can only say this: Stop being wussies... LOL. If you distribute your weight between your grip, arms and lats, as you darn well should, you should have no problem with the handle. It certainly doesn't hurt.

So, do I think it was a good purchase? Definitely. The proof is in the abs, which I began to see only after a few workouts.

The Ironman Double Ab Wheel is a really good product and the exercise is absolutely amazing!

[+] 10.0 The Best Workout for Your Core Ever Created
Ab rollers are the single best way to work out your entire core. Do them standing up to get a total body workout. Do straight repetitions for the core and side repetitions for the oblique.

If you don't feel the burn after 10 repetitions, you are doing the exercise wrong. In all exercises, it is the eccentric portion of the exercise that builds muscle. Do the exercise in a smooth, controlled fashion with a 3 concentric and 6 eccentric count. Squeeze at the peak of the motion to get that extra pump.

As in all exercises, make sure to keep your wrists straight and check your posture with these seven vital points: feet hips-width apart and pointed straight ahead; knees slightly bent; pelvis at perfect middle, as if you are sitting at a bar stool; stomach tight, but not flexed; chest straight and aligned on top of ribs; shoulders parallel to ribs; and neck straight on top of body.

Very effective little unit and a great value at the price. This device is exactly what I was looking for.

[+] 10.0 If You Put the Time In
This will give you the abs you want if you express the commitment. Try three times a week if you don't want to deal with the fatigue, that works for me. Highly recommended!
Enjoy!

[+] 4.0 Cannot get a workout from this
Just as one reviewer mentioned before, I am getting no workout with my abs using this. It seems the majority of reviews are positive for these types of devices, so I would guess that I'm somehow using it wrong. The instructions are fairly simple. Sit on your knees, raise up, and roll the wheel across and then pull it back. How this gets your abs engaged is a mystery to me. My arms were getting a workout because they had to support my weight at the end of the extension. My back partially felt some stress as well. I tried multiple ways of using this device, but no matter how many times I tried, my abs never felt stressed.

[+] 8.0 Good product
I was reading somewhere that boxers use these things for training, and the idea first started out as a lawnmower wheel with a bar through it, but for $11 the Ironman ab wheel is a great buy for the results. I've only had it for 2 weeks and you can tell its already working. The ironman ab wheel is nice, sturdy and simple. I gave it a 4 stars because the grips are a little hard so it can hurt your hand after long periods of use. Also it doesn't come with extensive instructions on use or anything so what I did was hit up youtube and watched how it should be used because with ill use it can hurt your back badly. All in all though I would recommend this to someone else. This, cardio and eating right will give you a nice stomach as your reward.

[+] 8.0 Good Ab Wheel, did not like the handle
I like this ab wheel. But there is one thing that i do not like is the handle grip. I have pain in the palm for 10-15 mins after using the ab wheel for 10-12 reps. I hoped the grips were more smoother (something like neoprene dumbbells). So now i have started wearing gloves when using this.

[+] 10.0 Simple, cheap, and effective.
Be careful and make sure you're doing your routine right or you can risk injuring your back. This thing really gives you a good workout. The first time I used this thing I was aching for a week!

This Wheel is Awesome! Your Abs get a great workout but you must have some stomach muscles because it is a difficult exercise for a novice.

[+] 10.0 Feel the pain...
I have used this product for one day so far. I did 3 sets of about 20 reps. Next day till noon everything was fine, till after a nap my abs start hurting. Seems to be really working so far. Mid-section is more firm now and feels good. Though I don't think I will be able to fully use this product for the next two days, so far so good.

[+] 10.0 Nifty little tool, totally worth the few dollars
To be entirely honest, I only bought this as a "filler item" to get free Super Saver Shipping. Still, I read the reviews, and decided to give it a shot.

Anybody who tells you that this will get you ripped it exaggerating. Anyone who tells you it's worthless is wrong.

But it does have an amazing middle ground, and for under ten bucks should definitely be in your home gym. A few minutes with this every day and you will see results, and a proper session on the Ab Wheel will make you feel a good burn.

[+] 10.0 Highly effective
I bought this wheel about a month ago and so far it has been preety effective in building my ab muscles. Of course as we all know using this wheel alone won't give you abs. A proper diet, cardio and ab workout is the receipe to great abs.

[+] 8.0 Ironman Ab Wheel
This wheel is very smooth and stable. I found the grips to be a bit small. I solved this by removing the rubber grips and installing a larger diameter pipe over the existing ones on each side. I then slit the rubber handles and reattached them to the new larger diameter handles. Works great.

[+] 6.0 It does its job, but no pain, no gain...
I've had this product for a couple of months, and I've found that it is an excellent tool for toning my core muscles, and getting my shoulders in better shape. I did however have one big problem with the product - the handles. They are shaped for handgrips, but are rock hard, so I ended up with blisters on my hands every time I used it. Now I wear 30 gram winter gloves to add some more cushioning until I manage to find some type of foam to pad it with. The ab wheels with foam handle pads might be a few dollars more expensive, but you may find it to be worth the cost.

[+] 8.0 Works for me
I was not in the best shape when I bought this. It supported my weight and has helped me tone & strengthen my abs & firm my arms. Not easy for me at first. Along with other exercises & diet, I am seeing a difference. You will need carpet or a pad for your knees. Great for travel

[+] 10.0 Great Ab Workout
Being somewhat in shape and being strapped for time to get to the gym, this ab wheel does a great job substituting a proper ab workout when I don't have the time. Only a few minutes and you can feel your abs are really getting a good workout. If not use to, may cause back problems, because it also works the lower back muscles.

[+] 8.0 Does what it says it does, but...
FYI, I used to have a pack back in high school which unfortunately was lost due to a lack of activity. I got this device to help with getting it back. This review will be short and simple.

First, let's be clear: IT DOES WORK. If you do three sets of 20 rolls per set, you'll feel the burn the next day for sure. Don't expect miracles overnight though. You're not going to see a full on six pack without working on this device for a while.

Second, so you know, this is nothing more than two wheels with a bar. That's it. You could probably put this together yourself, but why bother?

Lastly, there is only one negative: the hand grips are NOT comfortable. They use the same handles as regular bicycle handlebars which you would assume should be perfect for this application, right? Wrong. The problem with that is this: on a bicycle, your gravity base is centered on the seat, even when you're leaning forward. On this device, even though you're on your knees, your weight becomes distributed (which is why this device also works your arms and shoulders...you're naturally adding more weight as you do the motion, causing you to work harder. If this weren't the case, this device wouldn't work). That means that pressure points are being created on your hands, making for a very uncomfortable situation. If it weren't for that, you could get a lot more effect from your workout (see the Perfect Pushup's grips for an example of what I'm talking about).

So, does it work? Yes. But you won't be able to maximize your workout since the grips will make your hands hurt after a while. Very unfortunate, because it is otherwise a very effective little unit and a great value at the price.

[+] 10.0 Exercise is worth every penny you purchase.
We have had fun on this and anything that can provide some entertainment and exercise for less than $15 is a bargain. Still works so give me some more ideas to motivate us into exercising.

[+] 8.0 Simple product with a great idea, but be careful.
The Double Ab Wheel is almost as good as it gets. Its really simple, and its really inexpensive. Best of all, even though I have only been using it for a couple of weeks, it seems to be quite effective. By adding this one new element into the array of ab exercises I do on a (semi)regular basis, there is already a noticeable improvement in my strength and physique. But I should caution you to be careful when using this product. I think that someone, especially with an already weak back, could really hurt themselves. The Ab Wheel requires you to support nearly all of your upper body weight with little more than your core muscles. This is what its designed for and the reason that it works, but I have sometimes felt a slight pinch in my lower back. Just remember to keep your back slightly curled and no not to extend too far forward. Other than that, fork over the seven bucks or whatever it costs and just get it and enjoy your new abs.

[+] 10.0 Simple Design, Works Great
The grips and steel bar through the center give a solid feel. The wheels turn smoothly, and grip the floor fairly well. It's a good simple piece of equipment that lets you concentrate on what is a difficult exercise without feeling like it's going to break and cause and injury.

Tip: The exercise can be hard on your knees if you work out on a hard floor. A doormat or floormat that doesn't slip is really handy to use with this.

[+] 10.0 Great for the Abs
I can do crunches or situps all day long, but this ab wheel will wear me out. Plus my kids like to push it around the house and pretend they are motorcycles. Great product, especially for the price.

[+] 10.0 Ripped my abs up!
I bought this last week thinking it was a simple exercise to do and it was. Did about three sets of thirty and was done with it. The next day my abs hurt so bad it was hard to laugh. My abs didn't stop hurting for four days after. This little wheel does what it suppose to(work those abs)

[+] 10.0 Simple but great
It looks so simple, but it really works. It uses all the right muscles and it's almost impossible to use wrong. It's also inexpensive...that's a definite plus.

[+] 8.0 Excellent device to tone abs
Pretty simple to use. A great ab strengthener/toner though definitely not something if you are looking to get rid of the extra flab. Works perfect if you combine your cardio exercises along with this. The double wheels render good support for a straight line motion. Very easy to dismantle or to put together. I think for the price it's a steal.

[+] 10.0 Don't be decieved by the simplicity & competitive price
There are lots of ab wheels out there, but santa chose to get me this one. I was skeptical of the quality & durability of this wheel...it's a metal rod, 2 plastic/rubber wheels, and two molded rubber handles. But so far, it seems extremely durable and smooth-rolling.

I'm used to doing over one hundred crunches per set USMC style in addition to leg raises, so I wasn't sure how much this thing was going to add to my workout...boy was I clueless.

This thing works your abs, but equally importantly it works your lower back and parts of your shoulders. Just doing it from my knees, I can barely squeeze out a set of ten.

If you are looking to develop not just abs, but your back & other core components, this thing will do the trick...but more importantly, it will do it for about ten bucks, including shipping.

IMO, this is something almost anyone can afford, and something almost everyone should use.

[+] 10.0 Great product!
This will really build up your ab strength. Go slow at first (less reps, not a full extention) and after a few weeks you'll be working up to a couple of sets!

[+] 10.0 Simple but effective!
This product is simple yet effective. It was a gift for my 19 year old son who is in good shape. He gets good use from the wheel and uses it all the time. It is very durable and sturdy. The wheel does not come with instructions on how to assemble it. However, it is self explantory on how to assemble it. It is a nice product that I would recommend to others.

[+] 10.0 Know pain know gain
I really like this little thing. It works like a charm. My lower body is very strong, but I am weak in my upper body. However I can really feel this thing working not only my abs, but also my chest, back, and shoulders as well. It will give you a good workout for a little money. Great product !

[+] 8.0 Better than sit ups.
Why waste your time and injure your back doing sit ups? Just do two or three sets with this and get it over with. Much better on the back and a way better work out on the stomach--not easy to do, but do what you can and you'll feel the affects. There is certainly nothing fancy about this particular product, but there doesn't need to be.
Reviewer [A1BY18JIAJO49R] | Date [November 17, 2007]
[+] 10.0 Simple, Cheap, Effective
I've been using this product for several weeks. At first I could only complete 2 or 3 "rolls" at a time before stopping. Now I have worked up to 3 sets of 25.

My favorite thing about this product lies in its simplicity. You can store it just about anywhere either in its assembled or unassembled form. Because I sit in front of my computer for much of the day, I keep it near my desk and use it in various downtimes. Also, it works much more than just abdominal muscles; it challenges your back muscles, arm strength, and overall upper body strength.

Once you make some progress, using this product becomes beneficially addictive.

[+] 10.0 I definitely recommend it!
I know this ab-wheel has been around for a while, but it was new to me. I tried it once, and I fell in love with it immediately. Don't be fooled by the simple look of it, because it gives you a real work out. The only thing I didn't do was measure myself to see exactly how much I have lost since I started it, but I can tell you that I have lost maybe an inch, maybe two, because I can feel it in my clothes.

If you are going to try this, you have to be committed too. It won't show any results if you are not doing it constantly. You have to be disciplined and do it in a rutine, to actually get the desired effects, otherwise... standing near your bed won't help you at all.

Also, if you get it, I would recommend it to do it on top of a rug or mat (like a yoga mat) because otherwise, you might fall on your face if you don't have the arm strength to do it at first. And kneel on a pillow or something like that, because otherwise your knees might hurt.

[+] 10.0 AMAZING!!!!!!!!!
O.K., so you are reading this because of my title. I am glad I got your attention. My roommate had one of these around so I did a couple reps from my knees. It was pretty tough, I fully extended my arms (remember... FROM MY KNEES) and did about ten. It does work the arms, it does work the abs... but what I noticed is how much it works the back and various stabilizers muscle (o.k.... the same thing in essence). I get minor back aches and such from slouching on a couch, but after doing these a couple times a week (30 reps a week period...) I never seem to get that hollow, misaligned back ache anymore despite still being a slouch who does this 30 times a week.
It is a simple, cheap machine. Who cares who makes it as long as it has a wheel and an axle. Like Nikey says, just do some ab rollers.
Good night and good luck.

[+] 10.0 It really works
I bought this just on a whim hoping I'd see results and the coolest thing is that this isn't a one trick ab machine, it really works. If you diet and use this with a blend of aerobic exercise you'll see results. The coolest thing is that it also worked my shoulders, chest, biceps and triceps as well,I didn't realize that it would do that until I started to notice more developed pectorals and more toned biceps. Don't think about it just buy it, it's worth the money.

[+] 2.0 Don't buy
This was not a good product. It didn't work like the first one I had that finally broke. The ones with the braking mechanism are the best to buy. My back didn't hurt and I lost weight in my abs using the first one I had. This one did absolutely NOTHING for me. I would recommend NOT buying this product.

[+] 8.0 An oldlie but goodie
The is a quality example of a traditional ab exercise. It works as it is supposed to. I remember seeing one of these at my grandfather's house when I was a kid. I use the ab wheel along with knee raises on my Ultimate Body Press - Dip Machine / Dip Bars for a complete abdominal workout.

Sturdy, works well, easy to disassemble and toss in a suitcase. The exercise is surprisingly hard, you must have strong abs to begin with, combine this exercise with sit-ups. Must be used on carpet or a towel or something under the knees.

[+] 10.0 How much more do you have to read? This product works!!!
I was in the market for something to get my stomach the way it used to be when i was younger. honestly i was looking for the easy way out. i read reviews on the sauna belt and the slendertone, and thank god those people talked me out of buying it. ive tried the ab ball which works but nothing gave me the results like this product did. the minute i got it i used it and i was hooked. im about average weight with pudge around the belly but after using this product for about 3 weeks if i suck in my stomach a i can definately see muscle forming. Nothing on here beats the price and the results you get. i have a history of a bad back but this product doesn't aggrivate it at all. it's no miracle machine and gets you rock hard abs over night, but it works!!! i'll definitly vouch for this product.
