[+] 2.0 No strong enough for my son
I bought this for my son as I have one and love it. He tried everything to make very strong coffee. He used less water but ended up with very little coffee. He tried the separate filter I bought with it but that didn't work either so it is going back. We both feel badly.

Worked great for about 6 months and then out of nowhere started marking weird noises and stopped working.

[+] 10.0 Excellent Pod Machine
The Keurig B-40 is a coffee pod machine. The unit pumps a pre-determined amount of hot water through a pod that contains coffee and directly into your cup. It makes one cup at a time from the pre-made pods you purchase with a variety of coffee, tea, and hot chocolate selections. The B-40 makes either a 7.5oz or 9.5oz cup (non-adjustable) and has a low water light and descaling warning light. The advantages of having a single cup brewer are there is no coffee waste, speed, and variety. This model is ready to brew the first cup in just over a minute and only 14 seconds between cups. As with any pump machine there is some noise while brewing, the B-40 is quieter than my old Senseo and a $500 Nespresso D90. Unless you live in a 60s era trailer, it won't wake up everyone in the house. Coffee pods run about $.40-$.47 each which is about 3-4 cents more than the Senseo and about .10 more than a cup of home brew drip coffee. I paid just over 100 for the unit which came with some sample pods. Setup was a breeze, instructions are clear, and it has a one year warrenty.

I have owned pod machines since they first came out, starting the the Melita One:One (terrible), the Senseo, which was very good for several years, and now finally the Keurig for a month now.

What I like about the B-40:
Large removable tank (had to purchase a larger tank for the Senseo).
Variety and availability of pods. A big factor when choosing your pod machine!
Speed, faster than the Senseo, especially the second cup.
Believe it or not, cleanliness. My other pod machines were messy, dripping coffee everywhere while removing the pod. In a month worth of use not one drop had fallen on the drip tray.

What I wish the B-40 could do:
Adjustable brew amounts.

Overall I'm happy with this machine and would recommend it to friends and family.

[+] 8.0 Nice in the office
I use this coffee machine in my office. It works great for a quick cup of fresh coffee. Easy to maintain. Makes a little more noice than I would like, but its ease of use and lack of mess with coffee grounds makes up for it.

[+] 4.0 Good coffee, terrible noise
We have had this unit for several years. The convenience is great, and the coffee is good. However, over time the coffee maker has gotten noiser and noiser. It's to the point now, that we can't use it when anyone else is asleep in the house--it make a noise similar to an air compressor. Also you have to keep an eye on it or it will vibrate the cup off the unit and onto the counter. We've tried every way imaginable to muffle it or keep the vibration down, but to no avail. There must be a pump replacement somewhere on the net, but haven't found it yet...

[+] 8.0 Very Good, but gets problems quickly
I was really glad to get this. So glad, in fact, that I quickly bought 5 large boxes of K-cups and a carousel to hold them all. It worked perfectly and really well for the first few months, but now, for no reason, has a few really annoying issues. The heating time is the same-very fast, but takes forever to actually dispense, while it used to be immediate. Also, it dispenses the wrong amount. If I choose the regular size, it dispenses the large size and when I hit large, it dispenses large. A few times it didn't even dispense anything at all, and I had to shut it off and on again to get it to work. It's a very good device and the coffee and tea is always amazing and piping hot, but I'm very disappointed that I'm going to have to call customer service already and I've only had it for a month or so.

[+] 10.0 Keurig Elite Gourmet Single Cup Coffee Brewer
My husband and I love this product. There is no mess to clean up, which is a big plus for me. There is an extremely large variety of coffees and teas available for the product. We feel that we can now have gourmet coffees and teas right at home. The only problem we have is that the poducts are rather expensive compared to using a regular coffee maker with regular coffee and filters. Hopefully, as more people buy this product, the prices will come down. But quality does cost more.
I have to admit also that I am concerned about the fact that all the products that we have found for this system come in small plastic containers that do not appear to be biodegradable. We would normally recycle but these cups are very small and our recycle company wants all products partially cleaned before they pick up. If we have to tear open this small cup and clean it out, then we have defeated part of the reason we purchased the product in the first place. That would make it considerably more trouble than a regular coffee maker. But overall, I give this coffee maker an A++.

[+] 2.0 The machine stalls & the k-cups cannot be recycled:$25/lb coffee
A big article in the NYT this morning about Green Mountain- which makes the Keurig and sells the k-cups. I never thought about the many k-cups I toss. The company is looking into it, but right now there is a problem with waste.
Then there is the machine itself. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't and you have to push all the buttons and close the unit again.
With this machine you end up paying $25 a pound for coffee.
Certainly things to think about.

[+] 2.0 Great idea lousy product
Do not buy! Do not buy! Do not Buy!

Brewer was used daily for one cup a day during the Fall, Winter, & Sprin months. A cup here and there during the Summer. Purchased one a few years ago and it died 6 months in. They replaced it no problem. 3 months later that one died. They replaced it. 9 months later that one died, but was out of warranty. I bought another one. 9 months later that one died. They replaced it. One month later this one would shut off randomly after a brew. I didn't have the patience to call them again to deal with the 85-steps to convince them to send another one. I dealt with the shut off issue for 3 months until this morning this one too has died. I GIVE UP!!!!!

It's now out of warranty and I refuse to buy another. The customer service was ok and relatively painless to have them replace it once you got someone on the phone. You have to jump through all of the hoops of descaling, poking a paper clip through the needle that punctures the K-Cup, turning off/on and whatever else they require you to do to finally send you a replacement. I don't know of any other products that I use that over the course of 2 years needed to be replaced 6 or 7 times.

Do not buy! Do not buy! Do not Buy!

[+] 6.0 Convenient, but very inconsistent
I've brewed 14 kcups so far. I've noticed that about 40-50% of the time, the brew sizes differs significantly. I only use the large mug setting. Sometimes, it'll pour about 1/3-1/2 of my mug (~4oz), other times, it'll fill 3/4 (the correct size at 9oz). This is highly annoying and expensive if I have to use another kcup. There's just no rhyme or reason to it. Now, I just drink the 1/3 cup of coffee whenever it pours that way, which kinda sucks.

It's convenient, and the coffee tastes good otherwise. But for the price, I expect better. I really don't think it's that loud; in fact, I wouldn't even call it "loud" in anyway.

[+] 2.0 Great at first but then.......
We really liked the Keurig coffeemaker when we first bought it. It was fast and made a good cup of coffee despite the high price of the K-cups. But now, after owning it for 6 months it only puts out 1/2 of the water necessary to make a cup of coffee. We have used only filtered water the entire time we've used it. We have just cleaned out the system but it didn't help. I am not impressed after paying over $100 for this machine. Buyer beware!

[+] 10.0 Love this!
I absolutely LOVE this coffee machine. I just switched from a cappuccino maker to this Keurig and I have no complaints at all. For all the other reviews that say it makes too much noise and rattles, I'm not sure what that's referring to. Yes, it makes noise when it heats the water and refills, but it makes a darn good cup of coffee. If you ever GO to coffee shops, all their machines make a heck of a lot more noise, for a much bigger price per cup over time. Personally, I don't think you can go wrong with it. There's a huge selection of K-cups available and you can find them on sale or at a discounted price. Wouldn't change a thing about my purchase!

[+] 10.0 Keurig B40
I just purchased this coffee brewer to replace an identical one that finally quit after 2 years of regular use. This new one is much quieter than the old one, the water pump inside is different. Keurig made some component changes and it is much better now. For those that complain about the noise I think you will be much happier with this. Hopefully all old inventory is gone by now.

[+] 10.0 Mornings are wonderful!!!!
We are a family of five who use this machine on a daily basis. We plan to purchase another for our daughters dorm room. It makes a nice hot cup of coffee, tea or chocolate. We have had no problems, it is a reasonable size (a little larger than most coffee makers) and we use bottle water rather than tap. Coffee cups are a little more expensive but since each person in our family have different tastes it gives everyone what they want. Can't say anthing bad about this product.

[+] 2.0 Do your homework first
Makes fantastic coffee and ice tea. But....
Before you buy do an internet search on all sites. I searched "Keurig doesn't work" or "Keurig doesn't brew". There is a major problem with the entire line of machines. After several weeks the problem seems to raise its ugly head.
Do your home work before you buy.

[+] 10.0 Amazing customer service from Keurig!
You're probably wondering why I would give 5 stars to a product that broke on me in the first six months. Well, let me tell ya...

I bought the B-40 Elite through Amazon in January 2010 and used it daily for about three months until our weather warmed up here. I'm not a huge fan of coffee in the summer, so my machine got a rest. But twice in the past couple of months I've fired it up and it won't start. The power comes on, it hisses for a few minutes, then shuts off. The water never heats up.

So I called the Customer Service Line yesterday and they walked me through a couple of potential fixes and then, out of nowhere, the technician says, "Ok, I'll send you a new one. All you have to do is send me back the K-Cup holder (which is a tiny plastic cup about the size of two shot glasses)."

"That's it? Really?"

"That's it. No charge. Just put the little plastic K-Cup holder into a padded envelope and send it back to me within 30 days. And for your trouble, I'm going to send you some extra coffee. What kinds are your favorites?"

Wow. Talk about bowled over. While I love my B-40 Elite and my coffee (try Donut Shoppe), I love their customer service even more.

[+] 10.0 Keurig B40 Single Cup
Love my new single cup Keurig B40. I was constantly throwing out partial pots of coffee as I couldn't master a single cup with my old coffee maker. The Keurig single cup system is great because I'm not wasting coffee and I can switch varieties on a daily basis. Heats up fast, nice & hot.

[+] 4.0 Great coffee, terrible durability...
If I could have I would have given the Keurig 2.5 stars because it's evenly split between fantastic and horrendous. First of all I love the coffee the Keurig makes (extra bold w/cream drinker), the convienence and the ability to only brew one cup a day which is all I drink. In fact I love it so much I'm here contemplating buying another even though mine only lasted 24 months. After going online to troubleshoot what was wrong I discovered my experience was actually more positive that most since it seems the average longevity on these machines run approximately 15-18 months. So since there's really nothing else on the market that compares to the Keurig and you want only a cup or two of great tasting coffee at the push of the button I'd say go ahead and buy it. Just be forewarned that after about a year or hopefully two you're probably going to have to shell out another hundred. However at $2 a day for a cup at McDonalds or making then dumping the majority of a pot - for me the cost analysis makes sense. Sad I know.

I bought the Keurig for my husband for Father's day B40 and we both love it! We've tried several different coffee makers and this truly is one-of-a-kind and worth every penny. Here are the reasons we love it:

-Every cup is perfectly fresh
-Super fast brewing
-Different, delicious flavor choices
-No mess

[+] 4.0 Be Careful! My Keurig Blew Up!!!!
I love coffee. I loved my Keurig B40 Elite. My kids gave this to me as a mother's day gift two years ago. Up until about 4 months ago, my machine was a dream. I went to bed at night, thinking about waking in the morning to my fresh brewed coffee. Ahhh... About 4 months ago, my machine started making noises. Weird noises; hissing, burping, so weird I had to shut the machine off manually at night because it kept me awake. Today, I pulled up the handle, hit the blue button on the right and it literally blew up. A streak of flame ran across the bottom of the brewer and then the entire machine starting smoking. I immediately pulled the plug from the wall, let it cool down and tossed it in the trash. Be careful. If your machine starts making weird noises either contact the store where you bought it for a refund or at the least, unplug the machine at night as it could be a serious fire hazard.

[+] 6.0 A first-hand comparison of the Keurig B40 and B60 as well as the Bosch Tassimo 1 cup
I was able to compare all aspects of the following coffee makers:
The Keurig B40 Elite Gourmet (my parents own it)
The Keurig B70 Platinum Single Cup (we owned it and loved it until it recently died)
The Bosch Tassimo Titanium (we have been using it for the last month, ordered on Amazon)

So, because I always value lots of research myself prior to any major purchase, I thought I'd share my own personal observations and results should anyone else be comparing the two brands. Although I prefer my current Tassimo, there are aspects of the other coffee makers I also really like and that you might personally prefer over the one I chose so I thought, rather than simply saying which one I like best, I will pass along a first-hand comparison that my be helpful to other shoppers so they could decide what they like most...as a big shopper myself on Amazon, I thought my own comparison may save others time.

Size:
KB40: (Keurig B40) 10x13 1/2x13
KB70: (Keurig B70) 10 3/4x14x13
TT (Bosch Tassimo Titanium) 8x11x13

Speed:
This was one of my most important features but it may not be yours. The Bosch Tassimo was the only one that has a "stand by" system so the machine goes into stand-by after use, using less electricity but ready to use instantly without heat-up (By instantly I mean 4 seconds.) The Keurig does not have stand-by so you will need a 4 minute heat-up time but after that it's the same amount of time.
KB40: 4 min heat up time for first cup
KB70 4 min heat up time for first cup (but see notes, below, about the programmable "on" button if you wake up at the same time each day)
TT: due to a "stand-by" system you do not have to turn the coffee pot on and heat up water ever because this has a flow-through water heater for faster brewing, rather than heating the whole tank resulting in 4 second brewing for first cup. However, if you choose to turn off your coffee pot or never use the stand-by system for some reason the heat up time is about a minute.

Water tank size:
KB40: 48 oz
KB70: 60 oz
TT: 67 oz

Warranty:
All one year

Water Measurement:
On the Keurig you are going to get the same amount of water for every drink, depending upon the setting you have to manually input. On the Tassimo, there is a barcode on all the T discs that the coffee maker reads and automatically adjusts the water and temperature needed for that beverage. For example, a smaller T disc would automatically adust your water so the beverage is not diluted. However, should you prefer a weaker cup, you can hold down the button to add more during every brew. Which brings me to taste...
I always found my Keurig to be on the weak side unless I was brewing a 5.25 oz up. I don't find this to be true for my T-discs, even in very large cups of coffee. Incidentally, the Starbucks brand makes a large cup and very full-bodied if that's desired.

Types of drinks:
All offer cocoas, coffees, teas, lattes, cappuccinos, espressos I think Keurig actually has more choices at this time than the Tossimo.

Sound:
KB40 VERY loud and vibrating
KB70 less loud, still vibrates
TT: very quiet, no vibration

Other notes:
The KB70 allows you to change the temperature of your coffee and, although it doesn't have a stand-by mode to brew instantly, it does have a programmable on/off so that you can have it turn on at a certain time each day which is almost as good. This didn't work for me because I might want a coffee at 6am but if I want a tea at 4pm I would have to wait 4 minutes for heat up with the Keurig, but have it instantly on the Bosch since it can stay on standby at all times, powered down but not off and ready to brew instantly. The KB70 has a digital clock on it and the Tassimo does not. The Tassimo shows less coffee drips at the base than the Keurig if anyone does grab their cup too soon in a rush. The Tassimo comes with 2 Mavea Water Filters. Although they are optional, filtered water does take your coffee taste up a notch...even the Starbucks company insists on their machines (even in corporate offices) having the filter due to the taste change. So we use it...it just plugs into the water tank so it's easy to use or not. The Tassimo has a cup stand light that switches off when not in use for 5 minutes. The cappuccinos and lattes are better waaaay better on the Tassimo because they have real milk that really froths rather than dehydrated like the Keurig, but regular coffee is really good on both...I like a bold cup though so I prefer the Tassimo not using more water in relation to coffee...doesn't taste as watered down even on the really light blends, the flavor comes through in my opinion.

Also note: The T-discs take up less room. If you keep a dispenser on your counter you can have lots of t-discs in them without refilling the dispenser frequently because they are flatter and more round rather than tall.

Conclusion: I like my parent's Keurig B40 which made me buy my Keurig B70 which I liked a lot until we used it to death and I decide to try out the Tassimo Titanium. Although each has aspects that are great, I love my Tassimo far more...HOWEVER, if some of the things that were important for me aren't as important to you, I think anyone would be happy with the Keurigs too over a regular brewer.

Here are some comparisons to a regular coffeemaker rather than a one cup:

The flavor of coffee is broken down by three things: light, heat, and air. Every time you open a bag of coffee to measure out and fill a regular coffee maker, you break down the taste because of this. Also, a regular brewer is cheaper but there is more waste. We always dumped out leftover coffee. Now we only brew what we drink. Also, as your pot sits, it is also exposed to the aforementioned elements making it stale. With either the Keurig or the Bosch Tassimo, you always get a fresh cup.

If you have guests, it's excellent because you can have various types of coffees and teas and each person can push one button and brew their own. You don't have to stop your entertaining at a dinner party to keep refilling coffee or asking if anyone needs any refills, or stop to brew a few pots during dessert...I have this at the end of the counter and there is no wait time...anyone can easily serve themselves with no instructions and there is no mess, no coffee measuring spoons, no coffee canister on the counter, no coffee beans in the trash or disposal, or spilling on the floor. Just take out the t-disk and throw it in the recycling bin. At least I can do that in Austin...it may be in the trash in other areas which would be a negative for the extra waste from the discs or keurig cups.

[+] 10.0 Love it, but can not afford pre packaged K-cups
This was a gift from my mother-in-law. We really love the coffee maker it replaced, but thought we would give it a try. The regular and flavored K-cups make a fairly weak cup of coffee. The bold, and extra bold cups are excellent. I purchased 2 "My K-cups" re-usable filters and 2 extra filter baskets. I purchase my own coffee (ground) and fill all 4 baskets at a time (when my husband is home). Then it is as easy as exchanging the filter basket in the holder, the only thing to throw away or compost is the coffee grounds.

My husband and I regularly purchase the single use K-cups at Costco (80 cups for $33) to have on hand for emergency and company. Sometimes we try new flavors from Bed Bath and Beyond (best retail selection in our area). The cost comparison is approx. 40-50 cents per cup if you use the single K-cups and about 20 cents per cup if you purchase high end ground coffee at the grocery store.

I have not run a side by side taste comparison with my Capresso grind and brew, but maybe I will do that at my next party.

Bottom line, It is an easy to use, good coffee maker. Pre-packaged coffee is pricey, but re-usable filters make it more cost comparable to other coffee makers.

Another con - the water reservoir could be a little larger and easier to handle. If I had arthritis I would not be able to fill and replace it.

Overall, I love the coffee maker. It just took some research to make it cost effective.

[+] 2.0 Design flaws
I purchased the B40 from Keurig's website, and it worked correctly maybe twice. Then it started not pumping any water, or at times would brew a partial cup. Usually it would just sit there and do nothing, then the lights would go haywire. I found the brew strength to be highly inadequate as well. No way do I want another one of these machines, and I'm getting a refund. If you read the customer reviews on Keurig's own website, you'll see a pattern of these problems so there is obviously a design flaw. Overall a bad experience with an expensive appliance. I've been pouring the coffee out of the k-cups into my old drip brewer, and the coffee tastes much better that way!

[+] 2.0 There is a design flaw with this model
I purchased a B 40 after owning the Keurig mini. After a few months, I no longer got a full copy of coffee, regardless of whether I selected the larger or smaller size cup on the machine. I called customer service and they had me clean the needles that puncture the K cups. Worked for a while and then the same problem occurred again. Customer service had me de-scale the unit, despite the fact that the descaling light was not illuminated. WOrked for a few more days and then the same problem occurred again. This time they offered to replace the unit with a new one. New one arrived and it was very noisy, but seemed to work. Less than a week later, it stopped brewing full cups. Customer support was less helpful this time and wanted me to repeat all the steps AGAIN to try to get it to work properly. I objected vehemently as the replacement unit was less than a week old. One technician told me that there were some design flaws with this model but that he thought they had been corrected. Had to hold for a long time to get a supervisor on the line who questioned whether I was telling the truth! I got furious and demanded to speak to his supervisor as I wanted them to replace it with a different model. He finally relented after I reiterated that I had better things to do with my time than spend time talking to Customer Service dept at Keurig. Very disappointing as I've never had ANY problem with the Keurig mini. We'll see if the new model is any better. Keeping my fingers crossed

[+] 6.0 A fair handed review
I just bought the Keurig Elite and have been using it for two weeks. My sister owned one and I liked it, the short time I visited and I decided to get one. Overall it does what I expected. There are some drawbacks, Outlined below. I mostly use the "use your own coffee" option based on cost, and an aggravation with that option is I have to compress the coffee with my finger to get enough in there to make a good cup (or it will be too weak). This is just a little messy, but it does work well if I do that.

Positives
- It heats water fast, and always seems ready to brew. Which is nice, because convenience is something I desired.
- There is a seemingly unlimited variety in K-cup choices. So if you wanted something different daily, this offers you and option.
- There is a use your own coffee option.
- Its an attractive appliance.
- Very little cleanup during brewing process, compared to traditional coffee makers.

Negatives
- Their pre-sized coffee output options are too small. A small is about half a cup of coffee, and a large is like a small cup of coffee. So I need to brew two larges to get enough for a normal cup of coffee for me. The K-cups are not really reusable, so you need to use a new one each time.
- The K-cups are expensive. I see them discounted at around 40c (or more depending on coffee) a piece on the internet. That combined with the cost of the machine make an expensive cup of coffee brewed at home.
- I drink 2-3 cups of coffee a day and the reservoir only holds about 2 days worth of water. So I just re-fill it after every use, removing some of the convenience.
- It makes noticeable noise during water heating and reservoir filling. Nothing terrible or distracting but it's not quiet.

In the end, II am not sure I would have made the plunge having all the knowledge I do now. I am not getting rid of it, but it's an expensive coffee maker, that won't really save you much money if you are trying to replace Starbucks with it. The K-cups are expensive, and coffee is ridiculously cheap usually if you brew it at home. If you are not using the K-cups, you could brew a pot of premium coffee and throw out what you don't want for about the cost of a cup brewed with the K-cup option.

[+] 10.0 Love our Keurig coffee maker
We bought this coffee maker last November and absolutely love it. It's easy to use and is very low maintenance and the selection of coffees is great. No complaints so far.

[+] 8.0 Good Overall Item
Keurig has a pretty good rep in a world of coffee makers which is NOT an easy thing to do; coffee folks tend to be rather picky!
I'm not too bad, but so far I have no big complaints. It does just what it says it will do and that's pretty good these days.

Negatives I see:
* Cost - could use to be between $20 and $50 cheaper. Course you could argue that you pay for quality. If it works solid for several years and/or is supported well, it's worth it.
* Catch Basin - Slight challenging design in that it's pretty easy to have overflow go onto the table rather that in the basin. I don't PLAN on letting my mug overfill that much, but the very first time it happened the mug was pushed all the way in and the overflow went down the back of the fill area and through the joint between the unit and the overfill basin onto the table.
* Size - Keurig's sizes seem a little on the small side. Oh, and why is it SO much more expensive to have multiple size makers?

Pros:
* Does what it says it does!
* Really quite quiet... although I'm sure that's open for debate.
* Reservoir for water is great.
* Arm entry is solid; you never question if you have put in your pod correctly.

I would recommend this unit. As with everything, just make sure you know what you are getting. Fortunately, with Keurig it seems they are honest in that area!

[+] 2.0 Buyer Beware
Here's what you need to know about Keurig:

If you have a problem with your coffee maker, I mean, "brewing system", you have to go through a process of troubleshooting with customer service. If they cannot resolve the issue, they refer you to technical support. Technical support is only available during normal business hours so you may have to wait for a call back if you call on the weekend or after 5pm. Technical support will then take you through another troubleshooting process.

My problem with this is that it's way too time-consuming and troublesome for a coffee maker. If you like a strong cup of coffee, I would stay away from this. The coffee is really weak and even if you use the filter for your own coffee grinds, you can't fit enough coffee in there to get a nice cup. I used mine for two weeks experimenting with different grinds, etc. After two weeks, it would only spit out a few teaspoons of coffee and then none at all. So, I called and went through the troubleshooting process and it worked...for three days. I put it back in the box, bought a $3 melita filter and figured I would use that until I got around to returning it, exchanging it or just buying a better machine. I called back in hopes that I could just get a new one and use it at work. The customer service rep insisted that I had to go through the troubleshooting process. I wasn't up for this because even if it worked, I wasn't confident that it would work for long. I had to answer questions like "what kind of water do you use", "what kind of coffee grinds do you use", "how often do you descale the machine". She wanted me to take the machine out of the box, set it up and try brewing a cup of coffee. She couldn't guarantee me that if I did this and it didn't work, I would get a new machine. She told me I would have to talk to technical support, but it was after 7pm so I would have to wait for them to call me back at another time.

If this were a computer, okay, I can deal with that. It's a coffee maker. I shouldn't have to waste my time troubleshooting. It shouldn't matter what kind of water I use or what kind of coffee I use and I shouldn't have to "descale" it after two weeks for it to work so back to a $30 black and decker I go.

[+] 4.0 Durability Poor
I first went to the Keurig site to trouble shoot and read reviews and unfortunately found several reviews exactly as mine. The problems I am having seem to be all to common. Which is really sad as I love this machine.

I purchased the Elite January 20th and it worked perfectly for about 3 weeks, then it started missing brews, the pump sounded like it was pulling water from the reservoir but no water was leaving it. It would sound like it was heating up, but nothing would come out and sometimes it would take multiple attempts to get a cup of coffee, until this morning when it wouldn't even turn on. The positive part of this is Keurig Customer service. They are replacing my brewer free of charge and including two boxes of coffee for inconvenience. I love the idea of this machine just really unhappy with how poor the durability of it is.

[+] 10.0 Very convenient
Convenient, fast and prevents wasted coffee. I purchased one for home and one for the office. Everybody brings the coffee they want. No more half pots poured down the drain. Extremely easy to clean.

[+] 8.0 Great Coffee Brewer
I have been drinking coffee for many years. I became spoiled while I was in Europe with the way they make coffee. In the US most people use a drip or perc type of system, all this does is boil in a bitter taste and ruins the true flavor of the beans. I have used every system and every method to simulate the European style, I finally ended up using a coffee press but they are time consuming, and by the time your coffe is ready it is lukewarm. After trying Keurig and other simular types that use k-cups and pod types the Keurig was the best. Decently priced and ease of use has sold me. I reccomend a strong type of ground for the most flavor, the lighter grounds do not have the full flavor I desire. Some people enjoy the weaker types and the machine does well with them also. I have found the system to be quick and I have not noticed any loud noises from the machine. I suggest this product to anyone who enjoys a full, bold taste and an easy system of brewing. Well worth the price.

[+] 10.0 Keurig B40 Elite Review
Sleek, eclectic, functional - all terms used to describe this gourmet home brewing system. Compact in any kitchen, the ease of its use matches its attractiveness. I love the individual cups used to make single servings. The timer-feature is an added bonus for rushed mornings. Cleaning and maintenance is minimal. I would recommend to anyone looking for a simple, compact brewing system.

[+] 10.0 Fantastic Brewing System
I'm single and for years I have made coffee in a conventional " coffee maker". My latest machine which ground coffee was ok only problem was it has a flat bottom basket for the grounds and for the little amount of coffee I brew in the morning, the coffee hardly covered the entire bottom of the basket. Also, remember how when you first open a can of coffee and that wounder aroma you first notice but then drops rapidly the more times you open and close the can till there is hardly any aroma left. Oxygen is one of coffee's worst enemies along with time. BTW I also read that you should never purchase the bulk coffee in the bins in a grocery store reason being the exposure to light and one never knows how long that coffee has been in the bins and that coffee is usually stale So I decided I needed a change and read all the reviews here on amazon and was very impressed by what you reviewers had written. I decided on either the B40 or B60 model so I went on an online auction site and was the top bidder on the B40 it was New In Box NIB never opened and had the complementary 18 sample box. I paid just less than $60.00. My brewer has the two cup size option.

At first I thought these single brewing systems were more of a fad than a practicability but reassessing my situation it made perfective sense so I decided to make the plunge and buy one. when my unit arrived it had a simple quick instruction manual. I followed the instruction until step # 8 in the SET UP section said "Press the flashing blue small mug Button. Well both of my small and large mug buttons never flashed, just stayed on. after about 5 min. I lifted the handle and close it and that seemed to rectify the situation and then the small mug button flashed. So if this same anomaly occur during your set up just lift the handle and close and it should reset itself.

There have been some negative reviews about how the B40 vibrates so much it makes other objects dance around that are close to it during brewing. Though I do not mean to discount other reviewers experiences, mine unit hardly makes a sound; perhaps it is slightly louder the the compressor on my refrigerator but hardly annoying. My Nespresso C100 makes more noise than the Keurig. Perhaps the others had an older design of the B40 or they may have had a defective unit.

The features I like on the B40 are of course the two mug size's, Heating light, De-scale light and most of all the ADD Water light. Which I wish my Nespresso had. Also the Water Reservoir is on the left side ( facing you). The only issue I can think of is you may have to move your unit forward to the edge of the counter if you have cabinets up above.

Other than that, so not to be redundant, I don't think I have much to add to what earlier reviewers have already written just I'm really please with my B40 and highly recommend it and I'm anxious to try the many flavor's and roasts that are available in the K-cups

[+] 10.0 Best coffee maker on the planet!
I love this coffee maker! My brother got one, and I tried it once and I was sold. its quick, convenient, and has a huge variety of coffee cups you can purchase for it. My favorite is the Donut Shop coffee (which I am drinking as I'm writing this). Ive never had a single problem with this machine, and I use it every day. Plus, there is virtually no clean up needed unlike a conventional coffee machine.

[+] 10.0 Better Every Single Day
I'm the only coffee drinker, my girlfriend prefers tea. So when I needed a new coffee maker, these had caught my eye for some time and I decided to pull the trigger. At first, it seemed expensive (50c/k cup AND the initial investment of over $100) but it's truly not all that bad.

This thing makes DELICIOUS coffee and it's great to be able to have 3-4 different varieties on hand for whatever mood suits me. And now my girlfriend even uses it to make tea, hot cocoa, chai, and other delicious beverages! This one has a reservoir which makes it nice as you only have to fill out about every 5-6 cups, a huge advantage over it's cheaper brethren.

One thing to know between this one and the other models is that the "cup size" buttons are rather pointless. It just dumps more water through the grounds so (at least it seems to me) it's the same as just putting water in after it's done. No sense in paying more for the models that have 3-4 cup sizes, though. Finally, BULLETS!

Points of Awesome:
1) Makes a delicious cup of coffee in no time (under a minute)
2) Individual cups means coffee is fresher and you can have 3-4 kinds without having to worry about some blends going bad.
3) The temp that coffee comes out is perfect, never so hot you can't drink it and never needing to be warmed up.
4) Water reservoir that's removable means you can take it to the sink to fill it and you only have to do it every 5-6 cups.
5) No cleanup! I hate dirty coffee filters as I'm 99.376% asleep while making coffee and ALWAYS manage to spill used filters. The physical machine can be wiped down easily with a cloth in no time.
6) Keurig seems to be the major player in this market so k cups are easier to find, come in more varieties, etc
7) Auto-Off means if you're the paranoid type, you won't drive yourself insane with the "Did I leave the coffee on?" question.
8) Does not carry flavors "forward". Tea does not taste like coffee, hot cocoa does not taste like tea, etc.
9) The black case with silver handle, chrome buttons, and blue lights makes it purty.

Flaws:
1) Kind of noisy, makes this mechanical buzz as it sucks up the water to heat it up.
2) Pointless cup buttons.
3) Kind of tall and might be awkward for some kitchens/apts with low clearance between counter top and cabinetry.

I love this thing more every single day. It's BETTER than you can even imagine!

[+] 10.0 keurig drink maker
Most people buy the Keurig drink maker for coffee. I am not a coffee drinker. This machine does a great job on tea - gone to daily with breakfast because this is so easy. Wish they had more selections (Irish Breakfast tea etc.) The cocoa is also very good. It is hard to find anything but the coffee anywhere but on line and the tea and cocoa are often sold out locally.

[+] 10.0 I'm so happy that I bought this! Great so far!
I love coffee and I love this coffee maker. I was afraid it may taste like dilute, liquid coffee...kind of like vending machine coffee. It doesn't!

I read many of the great reviews and decided to order it. I am very happy. The coffee smells and tastes like individual little fresh-brewed cups. I enjoy not having to clean up grounds and filters anymore. Just pop out the used little K-cup and throw it away.

I use this in the office. I had been brewing a pot for myself and wasting half of it (and cleaning out the pot, filter, etc). This is much better. Just one cup at a time.

Love the Caribou coffee, just ordered more.

I will not go into further detail because others have already done so. People have taken the time to write thorough reviews and I find that the positive ones turned out to be true. I am very pleased with my purchase as an everyday/average working professional who enjoys a "good cup of coffee!"

[+] 10.0 Who could live without this!
This machine is the greatest thing invented. I ordered this machine for my office, and everyone uses it. Its easy to use, it makes great coffee. I would highly recommend purchasing the other coffee filter piece, so that you can also brew your own coffee. Sometimes the K-cups get a little pricey. Overall this is a great product, amazing quality, and very easy to use. Clean up is a breeze.

[+] 10.0 Fantastic Product w/ Great Customer Service
I bought the B40 at Christmas time and it makes the best coffee ever. I've been a loyal Bunn user for 20 years and I have to say that this beat the Bunn hands down! The coffee is just full-bodied, hot and ready in an instant. In early March, it wouldn't power on. I called Keurig at 10:45pm (and they are in!) and within 5 minutes, the CSR said she would send out a brand new unit...they didn't require any paperwork, proof of purchase or return of the old unit! I received a shipping notification 1 hour later and received the replacement in 2 days! I love companies who stand by their product and do the right thing by their customers! You will not be disappointed with this coffee and if you are unfortunate enough to get a model that isn't working properly (there are several people who have had problems with theirs), you can count on Keurig to stand behind their product.

[+] 2.0 Zero for two
I have received two brewers and both have been defective. The first worked about 3 days and then didn't complete the brew cycle, leaving about a half inch of water in the cup. Keurig replaced it with little fuss. The second brewer lasted about two weeks with a similar failure, but not quite the same. The third unit is on it's way, but needless to say, I have wasted too much time on this problem already and this will be the last.

[+] 10.0 Perfect for work
I ordered this brewer because I simply couldn't stand the free coffee in our office and was tired of paying more than $2/cup at the cafe upstairs. Now I get whatever flavor and strength of coffee I want (they even make half-caf K-cups!), as many cups as I want, for between 30 and 45 cents each. The brewer is the perfect size to fit on the desk in my cube and it brews quietly enough that no one can tell when I'm using it (we do have a white noise machine which probably covers up some of the brewing noise); I have not had any of the shaking/vibrating problems that some people have experienced. At least three of my friends have bought their own Keurig after using mine. Can't say enough good things about it - I love it!.

[+] 8.0 A few days in, so far so good.
I have had the B40 for several days now and am enjoying it so far. I have used it twice a day without any problems. It brews up a good cup of coffee and am still working on finding my favorite K-Cup. Enjoying the Extra Bold varieties in the 9.25oz setting. No issues with noise or any other complaints for that matter. Will update this review after I have more time using the B40.
