[+] 10.0 works flawlessly. Plug and play.
It's amazing what ethernet adapters have come from; to. Old ones were bulky and primitive. This Linksys was small and easy to connect.I'm using it connected to Tivo and Wii to wireless Netgear WNHDE111 sending perfect signals to my Netgear WNDR3700.

[+] 10.0 Great product and easy install
This is a great option for a TiVo with USB and phone jack, but no ethernet input. Much faster than using the wireless USB device - if you don't need wireless. No special setup required, just plug into TiVo USB port and plug ethernet cable from router, then run the network setup in TiVo. Simple and Fast.

[+] 10.0 Works with TiVo
As you can tell from the title, TiVo compatibility was my reason for selecting the Linksys item.

I purchased this adaptor to hard wire my older Series 2 TiVo into my home network and remove a wireless vulnerability caused by the weak WEP encryption used by TiVo. I decided to go hard wire and eliminate the wireless link because my TiVo does not accommodate WPA or WPA2. This removed a weakness in my network I had been concerned about.

The item arrived with an installation disk, but this was not necessary for the TiVo. I simply plugged the Linksys adaptor into the TiVo's USB port and attached the network cable. My router and network recognized the TiVo immediately. One note: my TiVo was already configured for my network and made the switch extremely simple.

[+] 10.0 works fine with Tivo Series 2 DVRs
I bought this adapter about 10 days ago to use with my Tivo Series 2 DVR after I switched to an Ooma phone system. This adapter comes with an installation guide and a driver CD, but I didn't need either one. I just plugged it in to the USB slot on the back of my Tivo, plugged my ethernet cable into the adapter, and the ethernet cable into my router. Within 30 seconds, the blue light on the adapter started blinking and my Tivo connected and began downloading a new program guide.

Not sure about transfer speeds since I haven't used it in a data transfer situation (e.g. moving files, etc) where I could actually monitor the speed.

[+] 8.0 Much better than the last version...
I used the earlier iteration of this USB adapter and it was horribly designed. This new one is much better and easier to use. I just plugged it straight into my Tivo and didn't have to worry about it coming undone and jamming. It doesn't have that silly little door that kept breaking and works just as it should. I'm very happy that they redesigned it.

[+] 10.0 Good gadget
I started my desktop up yesterday morning to find it unable to find my DSL connection. After eliminating the obvious causes, I called Verizon tech support and they said I would probably need a new ethernet adapter. I always shudder at the thought of having to put a new piece of hardware into the box, so imagine my surprise and delight to find out that for ~another $10.00, the same thing can be accomplished by a USB connection.

This adapter installed as promised...no problems with the software CD (included). It got my internet connection back right away.

[+] 10.0 Exactly What I Was Looking For
I purchased this product in order to connect my Tivo (Series 2) to my internet router and bypass my home telephone connection. It has worked perfectly from day one and I have absolutely no complaints.

Before I purchased this adapter, I was told by a salesperson at Best Buy that I would not be able to connect my Tivo to the internet using this device (or any device like it) because it would almost certainly require drivers to be installed and since the Tivo lacks a CD-ROM, I would not be able to install the drivers. After some research online, I found that there are a handful of adapters like this one that are known to work well with the Tivo devices, even without drivers.

I was still hesitant when I received my adapter because I expected the drivers to be an issue. It was not. My Tivo recognized the adapter and connected right away. It couldn't have been easier.

For someone who is looking for a similar product to connect their Series 2 Tivo to the internet, I would caution that the drivers may indeed be an issue on inferior adapters, but this specific adapter has worked wonderfully for me.
