[+] 10.0 The Best Headset around for the price
This headset has excellent sound quality and sturdy feel. Plug-n-play right out the box. There is nothing out there that would match price and quality of this one.

[+] 6.0 See review on the regular Clearchat Comforts
I wrote a review for the regular version of these headphones (the black plastic ones.)

These are very close to the regular Clearchat headset. A little too close.

The only real difference I noticed was the isolation control in the mic is a little better.

Comfort has not been improved at all. Logitech doesn't QUITE get it yet.

[+] 4.0 Terrible quality, 2 of 20 simply stopped working
I've had hands-on experience with about 2 dozen of these headsets. Of that lot, at least 2 have died. On one, the mic went out and the other lists it is an unrecognized USB device. I tried it on XP, Vista and Win7. I didn't get a chance to RMA the bad ones but I'm sure they would've obliged.

Too bad, the headset looks great and I think it was reasonably comfortable (some might disagree with the latter) I guess Logitech is cutting corners now just like everyone else; can you blame them in this economy?

[+] 4.0 Headset review
A plug-n-play device isnt so plug and play. Disappointed that it takes some configuring that I still have not mastered. I was anxious to take advantage of the noise canceling feature but I cant not get the device to work as it should with sound coming from my laptop speakers instead thru the headset.

[+] 10.0 Everyone should have one of these
These are a must for anyone who utilizes the VOIP technolgy to talk and listen over the Internet. If you attend or presents Webinars this is the product to use. I tried Logitech's ClearChat Wireless version and found it to be way sub par to their wired USB version.

[+] 10.0 Great Sound - Very Comfortable
I'm using this headset along with Audacity to record audio files and the sound is very clear. It doesn't pick up on background noise, which is great, because my street constantly has cars zooming down it.

The cord is quite long, so I can move around freely without worrying about it coming unplugged.

The main thing I was worried about was comfort -- a lot of headphones really hurt my ears. These are extremely comfortable! I've worn them for an entire day without having any discomfort.

The only thing I'd say these aren't great for is listening to music. It sounds a bit muffled. You get used to it after a few minutes, but it definitely doesn't sound great.

However, if your main motivation for buying these is to record audio files, I definitely recommend them. The quality is great and you can wear them for extended periods of time comfortably.

Oh, I also use these to talk on Skype, and my friends say that I sound really clear.

[+] 2.0 disappointed
I just got the headset today and it worked for the first 3hrs then the mic part stopped working. I could still hear from the headphones but that's it. I'm a big fan of Logitech and never had a problem out of any of their products til now. I'm disappointed at the fact that it couldn't even last a year. It Looks comfortable but its not that comfortable for the price. Cheaper headsets have the same comfortability as it and that's pretty sad. There top part and the hear pieces aren't that comfortable and after bout 30 minutes of use my ears or the top of my head would be sore or ache. If this headset was round $20 bucks then I would say get it but for the price I say DON'T GET IT because it's not worth it. Sorry Logitech but I know Logitech can do MUCH BETTER

[+] 10.0 Very Pleased!
We've all heard, "you get what you pay for." Compared to another product of a similar price, I got more than I paid for. I've used the headset on multiple computers and it's worked well in all cases. Purchased on the recommendation of another happy user. We're now recommending to others in our organization.

[+] 2.0 Had to return it!
This headset produced a loud hum on my audio. Hum persisted if headset was plugged into USB hub or directly into computer. Had to return. Besides the terrible hum (sounded like a floating ground in the old broadcast days) this headset's mic was super sensitive. It picked up every tiny background noise. Both issues made this headset unusable for podcasting.

[+] 8.0 great sound, poor usb connector construction.
The sound on these headphones is really great for chat and gaming (I haven't tried them for music but suspect they would be fine for basic listening). They do an amazing job filtering out the background noises in your house so that your voice comes through clearly. My chat partners verify the sound quality of my voice comes through great and they sound good on my end also. The cord is very long, which I like. The headset is a little big for smaller/female heads. It is not uncomfortable really, even after wearing for a few hours at a time, though they are not very light weight, but on the smallest size they still like to fall off my head if i don't keep my head at a certain angle. If I start looking downwards they slip right off my head. I love the features built in though for the mute and volume control, very convenient and easy to use.

I gave it 4 stars though because they break easily. My first pair of them the red mute light indicator that shows on the microphone quit working after about a month. Then a couple weeks later the black box/casing around the USB plug, came apart revealing the sound card inside and the usb tip was beginning to bend away from the the sound card it connects too. I think this may be partly because the USB connector stick out of your computer about 2.5 inches and is not flexible, so if you bump it at all it weakens the parts. It is bound to be bumped a little when using with a laptop on your lap, so it was not a good design for my laptop use, and breaks easily with very little pressure. I did like the sound however, so I bought a second pair thinking maybe I just got the bad apple of the bunch and the black casing on the USB was not heat welded together strong enough.

I got my 2nd pair, same quality for sound, but this pair also broke now after a couple months- The silver USB end completely broke off of the black casing/sound card it's attached to. Logitech would do well to redesign this plug-in.... They ought to move the sound card further up the wire so that it remains in a more flexible position, so that essentially you have headphones, connected to wire, connected to soundcard box, connected to more wire (making this positionally flexible), then connected to a small USB plug that does not stick out of your pc much. If you will be using this headset on a desktop pc where it will be plugged in and not moved or shifted at all, this may not be an issue for you. But it is somewhat problematic for laptop and portable uses... they just did not make it durable or strong. sounds great though. Just wish they had lasted. If they make a new version with the cord/USB set up as I described, then I will buy them again. Until then I am buying another brand that will hopefully last longer- am going to try Koss. We'll see. I wish Bose would design a set for internet chat... I love my music headphones from them... just waiting for them to do something great for this purpose. Overall, I recommend these, but not for laptop use, unless you use your laptop like a desktop and never move it. Very clear chatting though.

[+] 10.0 Very happy with this product
I work in an inside sales role and am on the phone approximately 4 hours per day. I have an approximate 30 million dollar quota per year. In the past I used a Lucent phone system for over 9 years and to say I need a quality headset for phone use is an understatement. I purchased this item about a month ago now and have been very pleased with it. I also bought a Jabra GN2000 for the office. My plan was to use the Jabra at the office and the Logitech at the house. I am now using VOIP in both locations.

I personally like the ergonomics better on the Jabra but the reception of my voice along with outside interference is horrible on it.

The Logitech has proved to be the best solution with the best sound and reception and volume. I would highly recommend this product to anyone who is looking for a Voice over IP head set.

I am purchasing another one for the office and am going to trash the Jabra.

[+] 2.0 Stopped working after 2 weeks
I purchased this headset to use with skype on a Win 7 laptop. After about two weeks of light use (only used for work purposes twice a week), it stopped working. No longer recognizable by my laptop and doesn't work on any of the other computers in our house. DO NOT BUY THIS HEADSET!

[+] 2.0 Nice but did not last long
Bought this headset in April 2009. Used it maybe four or five times. Used it to make 1 Skype call. Now it is totally dead. Was listening to music and all of sudden it just went dead. Tried reattaching was not recognized on my computer. Have tried it on 2 Macs and a Windows computer. Does not show up as an attached device. So it's a hardware problem, probably burnt out logicboard. I'd definitely stay away from this headset unless you plan to visit store often for replacement.

[+] 10.0 Great headset to use for computer dictation
I use this on my computer for dictation. My voice recognition software (dragon) works well with it. The sound quality (both mic and earphones) is very good and I find it comfortable to wear for long periods.

It is easy to set up - especially since it is USB - which means no hunching behind the computer to plug it into the correct plugs.

Unconditional recommendation.

[+] 2.0 Microphone emits loud hum
I am on my second replacement ClearChat Pro. Logitech really failed in making this device. The microphone emits a loud hum. Drives people on the other end of your VOIP conversation crazy and makes recorded audio sound terrible.

[+] 10.0 Recommended by the computer geeks at work - they're right
I went to a workshop to learn more about putting sound onto websites. They recommended this particular headset with the microphone. Amazon delivered it quickly, and it took me about 5 minutes to get it unwrapped and working with the software. Nice.

[+] 8.0 Very clear sound but a bit of hum pickup from the microphone
I use the headset for doing my homework for a language learning class and
I visualize the sound with a live sonogram display to check my pronunciation.
The headphones are nearly perfect for this task. The microphone produces
a very clear sound with almost no background noise except for some 60 Hz
noise pickup (just 60Hz, no harmonics). The computer is a small tower with an
ASUS P5EWS. If I plug in a standard microphone in the audio jack, I don't see this
60 Hz hum although there is a 20 Hz signal with some faint harmonics. The 60 Hz hum
picked up by the ClearChat Pro is low level and one can forget about it
in a normal working environment. But it is there and I did not expect it; I clearly
see it in the sonogram display and I can hear it over the noise of the computer.
I don't see any hum in the audio material provided with the course, so the hum noise
produced by the ClearChat Pro is not to be expected from a good quality recording setup.
Otherwise the sonogram is very clean over 60Hz, and this is what really matters to me since
this is where the voice signal is.

I would give this headset a five star mark if it were not for the slight hum pickup by
the microphone.

[+] 4.0 Was very Excited at the Specs. Was very Disappointed with Performance (Or Lack Thereof)
I needed a USB headset to be used with my Rosetta Stone Language learning application. This headset was actually listed on a pdf document I found from Rosetta Stone as an approved headset, and I love Logitech products, so I trusted it. I did my research comparing it to other models with better, if not the same reviews, and finally decided to take the plunge. Got a great deal on Amazon and received the unit.

When I plugged it in the first time, it didn't work. Being pretty technical, I restarted the computer and tried again, this time with success. I set it up with Rosetta Stone and it worked just fine. Sound quality was excellent, and the software had no problem understanding my pronunciations (very important when learning Japanese). That would be the last time it ever connected to my machine, however.

I tried to use the headset again on another night of Language lessons, but for some reason, it would not connect to my machine. My home PC is running Windows Vista, so to give the headset the benefit of the doubt, I tried connecting to my laptop using Windows XP. But to no avail. After a few days of this, and realizing that contacting Logitech Customer support would only yield my sending the headset into them, I decided to return it to Amazon.

Since then, I've actually purchased a Microsoft LifeChat LX-3000 Headset headset, which is also approved by Rosetta Stone, and it works like a dream. Even with music playback, it sounds like I'm listening to it with my more expensive stereo set up in the living room. I could have just gotten a bad unit, but I didn't want to run the risk of being burned twice. I still trust the Logitech brand and would probably buy from them in the future.

[+] 4.0 Nice Head Set, VERY FLIMSY
OK, I think I've successfully destroyed my second one now. Microphone goes in and out and is otherwise generating a LOT of static. It's not reliable. This is my second head set. I'm willing to give the benefit of the doubt on one unit being fragile. The second one is too much. I'm know I'm not paying a fortune for this, but I'd like to get a year or two out of it at least. I do a LOT of teleconfrencing via skype.

This product can't be relied upon to last. Not sure if any of them can.

[+] 10.0 Ubelievable Quality
I'll keep this short.
Easy to install.
Easy to wear.
Great sound (both hear and speak)
Nothing not to like.

The only thing I could say that could be improved is the design for compactness for traveling...kinda bulky.

[+] 10.0 Clearchat headset
This headset not only looks good and sounds good but the warranty is good also. I accidently stepped on the USB connector of this headset and broke it bad. I was moving to another apartment. I called up Lgitech to see if they had spare parts to repair it. I explained what happened and they sent me another new one free of charge. Logitech products seem to be quality and durable and they stand behind their products.

[+] 10.0 Logitec Clear Chat Pro headphone and mic are GREAT!
I wanted something I could use for Skpye. They work great with Skype. They are very comfortable, no drivers to load, just plug them in and they work great.I have some wireless sennhiesers, but I use these all the time now. Easy to reach volume control and mute. There are settings on the headset for gaming, phone calls, or music. I haven't had a need to use customer support, so I can't rate it. I use Windows XP. The price is very reasonable. I highly recommend them.

[+] 10.0 So much more than you pay for!
As a pc gamer, my headset is one of my most important pieces of equipment in multiplayer. I had this set until my son broke it, and I have yet to find a better quality sound set, even in the higher price ranges. So finding this model here on Amazon and being able to replace my old ones made me very happy. This headset sounds like a more expensive set, and the voice quality its also top notch. The seller got this item to me in very good time, with good packaging. I highly recommend this headset to all pc gamers who use VOIP, or just want to hear their games in top quality sound!

[+] 10.0 Happy!
Prior to purchasing the Logitech ClearChat Pro, I owned a set purchased from Target. The Target headset served it's purpose (Wow and Ventrillo) until I purchased an iMac (Intel 2009) which does not have the appropriate connection.

The Logitech headset works beautifully out of the package and plugs and plays with the iMac. WOW and Ventrillo work great with the headset along with the other applications I need sound for including iTunes (while playing WOW). Unlike the Target $19.99 headset, the Logitech has great sound and is very comfortable, microphone is out of the way. I have a big head and thought at first it might be a problem, but hasn't been an issue.

If you can afford a wireless version, I would say spend the money. The wired version is definitely annoying considering my mouse and keyboards are both wireless.

[+] 10.0 Great Headset and Good for Skype
This is an excellent headset for Skype. It is loud and clear, and the microphone extends all the way to your mouth, so that callers can hear you clearly. The mute and volume controls are very convenient, and the mute LED on the microphone boom is a great idea. The cord is long. The volume gets very loud if you turn it up, and the clarity is better than on a standard handset/landline combo.

It's funny, I bought this at Best Buy, then found it on Amazon for $20 less. I returned it to Best Buy and bought it from Amazon. That one was DOA. These things happen. Amazon returned it and shipped me a new one, with both shipping free of charge. I am a happy camper now.

[+] 8.0 Nice purchase for the price
I've owned this headset for roughly a month now and have no crucial complaints. They work as advertised. Connects to your PC via an open USB port and generally requires nothing from you as far as installation goes. I bought this set primarily for use with VOiP, but have found it to be equally useful for watching movies, listening to online radio, etc. They can become slightly uncomfortable following any lengthy usage, and like a couple others have noted, they have caused my ears to sweat a little (sorry for the visual there!) But for the price, not a bad investment at all.

[+] 8.0 Almost perfect headset...
I've had this headset about a month now and use it for online gaming. Simply plugged it into an available USB port and it was up and running. I have worn it for several hours with little to no discomfort. The headset is extremely light, and the sound/voice clarity is great. The head strap and mic are adjustable to fit almost any sized head. It has volume controls and speaker mute functions on the outside of the right ear piece that are quick and easy to use. I have to admit that this configuration is probably not the best for a right handed gamer such as myself, but these aren't used often once you start playing.

[+] 8.0 Acceptable for My Purposes
If you understand from the start that you'll not get Bose quality sound or performance from this little product, that it is designed to accommodate Windows as well as Apple operating systems--which is no easy feat, and that it primarily designed for "... audio for Internet communications, music, or PC gaming..." then you can appreciate the Logitech ClearChat Pro USB Headset as an affordable, workable solution between cheap, frustrating options and the ultra-superior professional level products. It isn't perfect. It has some odd characteristics. It may not be for everyone. (Read all info before you choose the product!) For my low end, rather casual needs, it has proven to be acceptable, and it is much better than an ancient headset / mic combination that I had.

I have used the Logitech ClearChat Pro on a Macbook (Apple laptop) with Skype, and I had a most satisfying experience. The conversation lasted for nearly one hour and fifteen minutes. I made only one adjustment to the device during the call, which was to enlarge the headset to better reach my ears because I had initially placed it on a bit smaller / tighter than needed. I had no trouble hearing my companion, and she had no trouble hearing me even with a bit of music playing. The sound was strong and consistent with no warbles, drops, or dips at all. Neither one of us had to repeat anything during our talk; in fact, the experience was better than calls I've made with my mobile phone. What I liked about the product during my long call was the length of the cord which gave me the ability to move around a bit without worry about unseating or unplugging the headset during the call. I was quite comfortable to move around in my chair and even stand if need be.

I have used the device on an older eMac with no worries listening to some songs I have on iTunes. Again, not Bose quality, however, the sound was decent enough to use while I was working on the computer quietly as not to disturb others. I like them better than iPod ear buds or those in-ear things I can tell you! LOL Your ears can get a bit warm though if you camp out too long in front of the computer!

Other reviewers are correct when they say that the product has a large USB plug. It is quite long when compared to other USB devices, so for some people and some laptops, this could present special challenges or usage problems. I did not experience any difficulty; however, I do not have very many other plugin devices. So, there's no competition for my existing ports.

Mac Users Note: You might find that you must adjust / control your volume and sound through the Sound control panel in System Preferences rather than from the Logitech device itself. Some design weirdness either through hardware or software issue seems to affect your ability to use the volume controls on the actual headset (older eMac computer).. Or maybe it's just me? :) I thought I'd mention that though! (This is why I gave the product four stars.) You'll need to let the Mac know that you plugged in the headset as it doesn't appear to automatically switch over sound control to it. It isn't hard. The sound panel in System Preferences allows you to achieve what you need. Once you've communicated your wishes the the sound control panel, you can use the Logitech ClearChat for Skype and even to listen to your songs in iTunes. I'm not much of a gammer, but I assume that if you've communicated with the sound panel, the Logitech will handle game music, vox, etc. Others who know about gaming can speak more efficiently on that.

For me, this is a useful product. It's all I need for my casual uses. People who use high-end type Skype activities, high-performance gaming, and professional quality music frequently and who expect high quality sound outputs for these endeavors may prefer other devices. However, higher quality equates to higher price. Each person must decide what best serves personal needs. For me, not being a high-end user and not into professional sound activities, I'd rather pay $38 dollars than $200 dollars. :)

[+] 2.0 Not a good headset for laptops
I have had this headset for several months and it has proved to be inadequate, due to its poor design. Specifically, the USB jack is over 2.5 inches long, which has been a definite detriment when using this headset with my laptop. In particular, this very long jack (seemingly inevitably) gets jammed or caught against items near my laptop. And now, after just a few months, the jack has finally given up the ghost and I need a new headset. Additionally, as others have mentioned, the headset is rather uncomfortable to wear, if worn for over 30 minutes.

[+] 8.0 works as expected
I purchased this device to work with my magic jack phone service that I use for work purposes. I am constantly having to participate in conference calls throughout the day and was looking for something which would allow me to keep my hands free and multi task. The sound quality I hear on this device is great, however I have had people tell me that they hear a lot of static and noise on the line sometimes when I am on the device. Sometimes this is the case when i am on mute and sometimes when I am off mute. It is not always the case. My guess is that this is not an issue with the headset, but probably has more to do with the magic jack phone service, which for $20 for unlimited calls a year I will live with.

[+] 8.0 Great budget Headset
This headset works very vell for online chatting (VENT, STEAM,etc)

Pros: Very reasonable price, fairly sturdy overall, can adjust headset for listening to music, gaming, or voice. I wear them when I watch my online netflix on my laptop.

Cons: USB attachment is very very weak. I am on my second headset. The first one, the casing came apart on the USB exposing the small board... Later a fall from the desk broke a ear off and wasn't able to fix. My second set I taped up in electrical tape but a few days ago it started acting up... won't become recognized unless I apply pressure near where the cable meets the USB casing.

MY advice, is treat these well and you'll get alot of use out of them.

[+] 4.0 Functional, but weak for anything but VOIP.
I should've paid more attention to the Amazon reviews. They're right; the bass on these phones is almost nonexistent. Tones are very midrange, very flat, even with the range switch set to Music or Game. I'm quite disappointed, and I'm going to have to look for a replacement if I want to seriously listen to my music or play online games without everything being tinny. On the plus side, the microphone is very nice, and I do like the on-ear volume control and mute system instead of having be on a little widget halfway down the wire -- but I wouldn't consider this for anything other than Skype et all.

comfortable. I like the soft earpads.
sound quality is good and nice that the mic swivels out of the way when used as a music headset.
Touching the side of the right earpiece accidentally can turn off the mic by mistake.
Would probably buy this again.

[+] 10.0 Exactly what I needed: comfortable, quality, affordable
I've started to record my interviews with Skype, and I want the sound to be podcast-quality even if I don't use the recording for that purpose. The Mac is good at this, not great. So I sprang for this USB headset, and I'm very glad I did.

First, the headset is surprisingly comfortable. I can easily wear it for 45 minutes while I'm "on the phone" (in fact, I have) without feeling like my head has been in a vise. (I see that some reviewers feel the headset is too tight; I didn't have that problem, but I'm a size-small person. If you wear a large hat size, perhaps these aren't for you.)

The sound quality is just-right for my needs, though I haven't had reason to use the headphones for music. And setup was... well, there *was* no setup. Just plug it in, change one setting in Skype's preferences, and I was in business. I *do* so love it when technology works as invisibly as it's supposed to.

[+] 8.0 Better than adequate, still working after 30 days use.
I really like the ear cushions (and they don't generate perspiration), but wish that the head band had an additional 3/8" adujustment larger on each side. Sound controls are great, everyone says that I come across really clear and crisp. I've been using them with Skype and in general multimedia use for over 30 days, but haven't unpluged them from the USB port since the first use...so I can't say anything qualified about that connector's durability.

[+] 10.0 Exactly what I wanted.
These headphones are exactly what I've always wanted when it comes to headhpones for the PC.
Great sound, comfortable head and ear pads, sturdy yet adjustable mic boom, sturdy chord with no inline control, easy to use and access volume and mute controls.

All the previous headsets I've owned, including Logitech I've been disappointed with the build quality and audio quality.

[+] 10.0 Worth the money
These head phones does everything I expected and more. I wear a hearing aid and they are excellent with a hearing aid. I don't think you could buy a better headset for the money I paid for these. I would highly reccomend the Logitech ClearChat Pro to any one who does not want to spend a lot of money for a headset.

[+] 8.0 Great for Skype - good features, light, and comfortable
Bought this specifically for Skype with my Mac and it works wonderfully. I plugged it in, changed the audio preferences in Skype, and voila! it worked beautifully.

Sound quality is good. My callers tell me that the audio quality is excellent, and I have no complaints.

What I like about this headset:
1. Inexpensive
2. Easy to use - nice long cord
3. Controls are super easy to use while in a call - easily mute or adjust volume while on a call
4. Red light lights up on mic boom while line is muted. Good visual reminder (you can just see it while wearing the headset)

What I don't like:
1. The USB connector is a bit long - about 2", so it sticks out pretty far from the side of the Mac. When plugged into the right side usb port, it interferes with mousing just a bit.

2. Ear pads are stiff. But hey, what do you expect for $40?

3. Cord is not supple - its thickness indicates that it will probably last a while and be fairly durable, but the trade-off is that it is a bit stiff while you are working at a desk.

Overall, a great buy, and much easier to use than some earlier Plantronics USB-based headsets I have used (that required their own drivers and settings - bah!). I have not used them for music or gaming, so I can't comment on their performance in that respect, but I suspect that they would be adequate

[+] 10.0 ClearChat Clarity
Logitech seems to have the market in these headphones wrapped up and for good reason. Light weight, comfortable and excellent reception.

[+] 4.0 wrong item aquired.
I bought this headset thinking I was replacing my old one. But when I received the item, it was to my surprise that I didn't get the item shown or described. But I actually received the same headset I had before. Since I did like the other headset I had just had a small accident with it(box fell on it rather heavy), I didn't get any sound to it after the incident. I decided to keep them. since I don't like to deal with this kind of matters. and $40 is not going to break the bank. Wish people would place REAL picture of the items and lie to people.

[+] 10.0 headset with microphone
Can turn on/off mic by tapping outside of ear piece. Red LED shows mic off. Records and transmits voice without popping and limits room sounds. Adjusts for phone, music and mic. Can hear yourself like a telephone when on Skype. Adjustable band, light and volume controlled by computer. Worked out of box.

[+] 10.0 Good headset
This product is very good for the price that I paid for it. It works fine for me when I am listening to music, talking on ventrilo, or playing games. I also like the mic mute feature which is helpful at times. Overall I have not had any problems with this products and would recommend it to whoever is looking for a new headset.
