This is a great mouse. It fits my hand like a glove, its controls are all relivent and in perfect placement. And it's really great for gaming, too. If you're looking for the perfect mouse, this is your lucky day!

Almost Revolution grade
This mouse is a replace to my VX revolution. The MX1100 is a bit heavy for my liking but it's quite responsive and having on the fly DPI adjustment helps. I'd recommend this if you can live with a heavy desktop mouse.
Out of all Logitech's offerings, this is my favorite. It's comfortable, accurate, and has all of the buttons I'm looking for. Hint: use the Logitech software to remap the DPI adjustment on top to be volume control instead.

It filled my need perfectly
I needed a mouse that would compliment my cadd program. The extra buttons that are configurable
did just what I wanted. I am pleased.

Nice Customization , Yet Not So Comfortable Design
Here is my Pro and Con review:
-PRO
1. Great customization capability
Logitech mouse setting allows you to customize any button for what you wish them to do
except for left and right mouse buttons. For instance, I set the left shift on the scroll in the middle of the mouse to
do a COPY, and the right one to CLOSE THE TAB on Firefox web-browser. Also, I set a scroll to PASTE when I press it down.
These look like small things, but if you use these keys often on keyboard, it can be handy for you. Also, you can set
those individual buttons for each different software like Microsoft Word, Power Point, Photoshop, iTunes, and etc.
2. Easy DPI setting
The mouse features DPI setting located on the left corner on the mouse, indicated with + and - sign.
What it does is to set the speed of your mouse on the screen. I was attracted to this feature because I use Photoshop often,
and when I use painting and masking tools, I would like to make the mouse move very slow to get all the details on the image.
This is very useful if you work on Photoshop or Illustrator and etc.
3. Fast scrolling
There is a button below the scroll. This is basically acts like a "break" on the scroll. If you release the "brake",
the scroll will spin really really fast just like a wheel on a bicycle keeps spinning when it is turned upside down. If you are
skimming through a Word document, PDF file, Power Point that has 100 pages or something, it comes in handy to let the scroll
spin in a free motion so the page will keep going to the end.
-CON
1. The mouse is BIG
I am male and do not have significantly small hands. Yet, I found this mouse EXTRA LARGE. When I try to hit the
FORWARD button located near by the thumb, I can easily click both FORWARD and BACK button all together. I just do not think that
people with small hands can comfortably work on this mouse.
IMPROVEMENT: I realized that I was holding the mouse like I used to with a smaller one. For this one, you have to place entire palm
on to it, while you rest your wrist on a mouse pad for regular-size mice. I know feel it very comfortable now.
2. Right-click is TOO SENSITIVE!!
The right-click can be easily pressed down compared to other mouses that I have experienced. If you
try to rest your fingers on the mouse, meaning that your fingers weigh completely onto the mouse, you will likely to accidentally press the
right-click.
IMPROVEMENT: I taped a small piece of regular plastic tape from the right-click button to the right edge of the mouse. It reduced
the sensitivity and clicks like a normal mouse now. NO MORE STRESS!!
3. The mouse is HEAVY
The first thing I felt when I opened the package was that the mouse is about 3 times heavier than a normal mouse even
without the batteries inside. I have to give extra force to move the mouse than other mouses so I lose accuracy to hit the point and
end up going back and forth over it.
Performs everywhere on anything, fits great, best of all has a on/off switch and the thumb back page and free wheeling scroll. Buy it

The perfect mouse
I searched long and hard for a comfortable mouse that had multiple buttons for controlling navigation and I think I found the perfect mouse. Has every function I could ask for, fits my hand like a glove and the price through Amazon was the best I could find anywhere. Very happy!

Great, Comfortable Mouse
Great mouse. Feels good in your hands except I often feel like it needs to be rotated 45 degrees to the left. The hidden button on the grip is a nice touch.
Fantastic mouse, very customizable, comfortable and could not be better. I am very happy with it, the best mouse I have ever used, also the most expensive but I highly recommend it if it fits your budget.
This is an amazing mouse. Very easy to set up and use, great battery life, and super comfortable!!!

Great laser mouse at a reasonable price
While I like Microsoft mice better, a Logitech mouse can be a better value at the right price. This laser mouse works very well, and the (after rebate) price I paid was much lower than the comparable Microsoft product. The only feature that Microsoft does better is the wheel, which is totally smooth on the higher-end Microsoft mice, but not smooth on this Logitech mouse. But overall, I am quite pleased with it.
This mouse does everything I needed and more. Many programmable buttons and even a hidden thumb button. Pages do have a tendency to "jump" up or down when in free scroll mode so I have to keep it in clickey mode. The one thing I had a problem with was one of the removable pads under the mouse. There are three of them but the small one under the thumb area kept catching the mouse pad. After I removed it the mouse is nice and smooth.

Logitech Gets It
Logitech has made great ergonomic mice for years and the MX-1100 is no exception. Feels great and tracks extremely well. Only downside is the right and left "click" buttons are alittle too sensitive for my big fingers.

Super fast, very good mouse
PROS
I purchased this mouse because I owned the previous model before and thought this would be a good upgrade. I was correct! This mouse is a really nice. It has several features the older model does not have. It has a free spinning scroll wheel that is balanced and weighted, when you release the brake on this mouse it will scroll at lighting fast speeds. Scrolling through PDF's can be conducted as fast as your system can refresh now. Another nice added feature is the "hidden thumb" button. It's just another alt button you can macro and use for day to day work. The transmitter base for this mouse looks like a flash drive. You can either plug it straight into any usb port or you can tether it to a USB cable as I've done so the base is a little closer to the mouse for optimum reception, either way you should be fine.
CONS
This is not a recharging mouse. The old 1000 model had a rechargeable batteries. The charging base was also the transmitter base. So you could just cradle the mouse whenever it dipped into the red. The new one requires 2 double A batteries. I really wish they'd just stick with rechargeables.

Great updgrade from a basic wheel mouse
This is a great mouse. Up until now I've only used basic optical wheel mouses. I love the forward and back buttons on the side of the mouse. Very convenient and easy to use. I also enjoy being able to scroll sideways by moving the mouse wheel from side to side. Works well. The wheel mouse for scrolling doesn't have quite as solid of a feel from click-to-click that I would like, but this has to do with the toggle button that will allow for fast scrolling. The fast scrolling is handy though. There's a button on the "thumb rest" which doesn't always work the best, but is fairly good. Overall, I really enjoy this mouse and it works well. Some minor improvements could be made, but that's being picky. The benefits outweigh the negatives to me.
I gave this to my mother for Christmas after she had been complaining about how uncomfortable her mouse was and how slow it reacted. I did research on the best mouse on the market and discovered this one. She was more than please with the mouse. She says it is perfect and would recommend it to anyone who is unhappy with their mouse. She praises it as being very comfortable and also very accurate.

Poor Rechargable Battery Performance
This mouse was clearly designed to be used with non-rechargeable batteries (which have a higher voltage than rechargeable type). It works, but it starts out with little charge and goes dead within a week. With normal batteries it shows full charge and goes dead in about 1.5 months. This is a serious design flaw.
The right click button is accidentally clicked way too easily.
The control and sensitivity are not very nice and take a long time getting used to. It is nowhere near as nice or accurate as the G5.

Mine is rechargeable!!!
The MX1100 that comes with The Cordless Desktop Wave Pro combo is rechargeable via USB(compare to this one which is not)and I also got it cheaper(after rebate)than buying the mice alone. To me.. MX1100 is second best after MX Revolution.
Been using this mouse for a couple of months now, and it works great! It doesn't feel too bulky and is very precise.
I have had a number of Logitech mice in the past, and they have generally been excellent, but my new MX 1100 laser mouse has been disappointing. First - it's a little big, even for my large hands (glove size 8 1/2, XL). Second, the pointer response is twitchy and jumps around slightly especially when making fine adjustments. I use it on a white laminate table top, and maybe that's the problem, but my other mice have handled it just fine. And perhaps related, sometimes when I am dragging a window around the window will suddenly jump and either shrink down to minimum size or jump almost completely off the desktop.

Great mouse, but definitely not "portable"
First off, I love (almost all) Logitech's product. I am an event videographer, and now all three of my editing workstations have Logitech mice. I had bought the VX Revolution mouse for my one Laptop which was perfect in all respects for feel, function and portability. The only thing I wish it had was a "thumb" button like their "Cordless Mouseman Optical" mouse.
I bought the MX1100 thinking I was buying a VX Revolution with a thumb button. I was disappointed at first when I noticed these differences between the MX 1100 and the VX Revolution:
1. Bigger and heavier. Takes two AA batteries instead of just one like the VX Revolution.
2. Doesn't easily slip into my Notebook backpack side pocket because of the bulk.
3. the USB wireless dongle is LONGER and it doesn't hide away into the mouse for storage.
4. More expensive.
It's not the end of the world for me since I can keep it working on a workstation that won't travel with me. I'm guessing it was meant for that in the first place. My bad for thinking it was a portable mouse. It obsviously wasn't built for that. I do not suggest this mouse for carrying along with a notebook. Without a slot to insert the dongle, too easy to lose it.
I haven't had a chance to really check out all it's features and customize the buttons to my editing system as of this writing. I'm sure I'll get used to it and it will work fine. Initial tests for responsiveness and general usage show the usual Logitech reliability.
On the subject of charging cradle vs. batteries - I had a rechargeable cradle-type mouse (Logitech), which after awhile did not sit right in the cradle, and wouldn't charge properly. The wireless dongle configuration is the best way to go, and replacing batteries doesn't bother me (plus they last a long time between replacement). It's also one less thing cluttering up your desk that you have to dust and maintain.

Great change of pace for a mouse
I bought this mouse with a bit of reluctance since I usually go with wired mice. I was starting to get fed up with logitech's failing scroll wheels breaking down and just the constrictions of wired. I started using this mouse for a week and it is really awesome. The weight is just right, and while I was skeptical that I'd ever use the Hyper-Fast scroll wheel, it's proven to be an excellent tool for web browsing in general. Just being able to scroll along a page with a minor flick at any speed I'd like is really convenient. It's really responsive and the shape is incredible, almost dolphin-like.
The only "negatives" I can mark on this are few. The fact that it holds AA batteries instead of having a rechargeable pack is a little different than what I'm used to with wireless mice, but with regular rechargeable batteries I doubt that will be a problem. Also the USB dongle is a bit tiny and if you put it in the back you may get latency issues, but with a USB extension cord, again, it's will alleviate any concerns. My only hope is that the scroll wheel won't wear out like the other logitech mice I've owned. But I think that's mainly due to side scrolling which i haven't used in ages.

Mouse of the House
In early May 2009, I ordered a new iMac MX419LL/A. Because of the many negative reviews on the Mac mouse scroll ball, I purchased the Logitech MX 1100 Cordless Laser Mouse at the same time based on the many 5-star reviews. The Mac mouse scroll ball failed within two months. Enter the Logitech. It is the best mouse I've ever used. I do a lot of scrolling through very long documents. The scroll wheel is extremely responsive to the slightest touch. When gently nudged in one direction or the other, the screen responds as a weighted fly wheel would on a piece of well-oiled machinery by rolling smoothly on momentum and gradually coasting to a gentle stop. The scroll wheel does not continue moving. I can zip from the top to the bottom of a 30-page document with one slight push of the wheel. The sensitivity controls are as simple as it gets. I can move forward or backward through applications, up and down or side to side without moving the mouse on the pad. A new computer is always exciting. Go ahead and customize it as you would a new car. It will significantly enhance the new computer experience. It did for me.
This mouse is AMAZING. the hidden customizable button is convenient and easy to access. don't really use the forward/back buttons. Adjustable DPI is nice and the mouse fits my hand comfortably. convenient usb-stick receiver and quick response time.
LOVE IT!!!

Excellent Mouse just one minor problem
I've been using Logitech Mice for decades. This is the latest for me. It is extremely adjustable. I miss the scroll buttons above and below the wheel I had on my MX1000. Also the Document Flip button below the thumb rest is, in my opinion, a bad position. I kept accidently activating it and subsequently had to disable it. Lastly, I've found that when making very fine movements the cursor speed becomes so slow that I have to make a somewhat exaggerated move of the mouse to accomplish a tiny move on the screen. Generally speaking I like this mouse better than my MX1000. The MX1100 has better button pressures. The MX1000 was very stiff and this is an improvement.

Freezes Regularly, Rebate Rejected
I bought this to replace an older Logitech wireless mouse. The older one worked fine (until the rechargeable battery stopped holding a charge), but with this one, the mouse regularly "freezes up", and won't move the pointer for 1-5 seconds. The batteries are new, and the USB receiver is located about 18 inches away from the mousepad, so there is no valid reason for the problem. The mouse isn't very comfortable to my (largish) hand, but that's a personal preference. The on-off switch, located on the bottom, has a raised edge that you can catch with your fingernail to move it. But this edge extends below the bottom of the mouse, and drags on the mousepad. The friction makes moving the mouse annoying and causes the mouse to twist slightly when you move it, so you'll want to file down the edge.
On the plus side, the buttons are well laid-out, and switching DPI on the fly is much handier than you might think, until you've tried it. The side scroll feature on the wheel is another feature that you don't think you need until you get used to it. If you work on wide spreadsheets or CAD drawings, you can go side-to-side without removing your hand from the mouse to push the arrow keys. If you have multiple monitors, I believe you can set this to switch between them.
Bottom line, I believe any mouse that freezes up is worthless, regardless of any other attractive features. Avoid.
