[+] 4.0 Waste of money
There is a malfunction with the volume control. Others here warned me about this and I should have listened. It needs to be always turned all the way up to actually hear the bass, and after some use it gets stuck. The microphone is low quality as well. The only pro is that it's pretty comfortable.

[+] 4.0 Not worth even this low price
Pros: Cheap, + mic quality for chatting

Cons: It WILL break on you in months. I bought mine not 4 months ago and the left ear cup stopped transmitting audio.
This headset logitech model, like other logitechs of its kind, have an annoying dongle in the first half of the cord to "instantly control sound volume etc." but what it really is is a nuisance. It gets caught on clothes and chairs with armrests and carries extra weight on the cord, tugging at the right ear (because this headset only has one cord connecting to the top).

Other thoughts: get a better headset.

[+] 4.0 Poor Quality
I purchased two pairs of these headphones for use on my computers. After a short time, on one pair, one side lost the sound, and in the other pair, I lost the microphone. So after only a couple of months, what was the value of these headsets? I usually like logitech, but I am greatly disappointed in this product. Now I will have to rethink buying any logitech product.

[+] 4.0 hurts ears to wear for long time -- better alternatives in price bracket
This model has insufficient ear padding and it squeezes your ears too tightly. You can't wear this headset for more than 20 minutes before it becomes painful. If you're looking for a cheap, comfortable headset for gaming or talking on skype/voice-chat, I recommend this model for a similar price:
Labtech 980232-0403 Stereo Headset with Microphone
Even though this other model doesn't go over your ears, you're not really losing anything, since the logictech model doesn't really block out noise either.

[+] 4.0 Good quality, VERY uncomfortable
I've used these for the past couple of months for Skype calls. They have great quality, but they hurt my head so much that I am purchasing a new headset to replace these.

[+] 4.0 Good sound, bad in other areas
I purchased this item based on the Logitech brand which I trust. Sound from it is excellent, however wearing them for extended periods causes extreme discomfort on my ears that I have not experienced from other headsets. The dial to control the volume also appears to have developed a short, as all sound is lost when I try to change the volume and playing and mashing on the dial is required for some time to restore it. I am surprised at the poor quality as it was treated very well and owned for less than a year, but I would not reccomend this to anyone else.

[+] 6.0 Reasonable but not great
I bought this item used at a great price, and the sound quality is excellent. However I have two gripes. 1) The Speaker pick-up is a little weak, and 2) the ear pieces bother my ears after 30 minutes or so of wearing them. This seems to be a pretty common complaint.

[+] 10.0 Excellent Product Despite a Mistake
In short these headphones are great headphones. I believe they are comfortable, but perhaps not for long periods of times, and certainly not if you wear glasses often. However, the quality is great and I wasn't having any problems with them.

My mistake was that I was looking for headphones also by Logitech, in the same series as these are. They are basically the same phones with the same form, but one important difference: USB connection. These headphones do not have USB connection, which I think drastically reduces the potential of its quality, as I have had the USB headphones before my pair broke. They were my favorite headphones and I wanted to replace them. Although no true problems exist with this product, I wish I had been more attentive for that key feature. I don't think Amazon made it clear enough, with something that important hanging in the balance.

I am not unsatisfied with these headphones, but they are not as capable of loudness as I want, and they are subject to non-digital interference unlike USB headphones. It includes a separate mic splitter with the option to mute it in-line. Despite not being what I wanted, they are still better headphones than most others.

[+] 2.0 Poorest Quality Headsets I've Ever Purchased
DON'T BUY THESE HEADSETS!

I am a computer lab teacher and last year purchased 40 of these exact headsets. I thought they looked durable, but I was very wrong. First, let me say that I am was very careful with these headsets and my students only used them occasionally for recording projects. The microphone booms just tend to pop off all the time. The main reason the microphone booms seem to fall off is that logitech has attached them with a SCREW! Yes, they put on a twisting part with a screw. Every time it gets rotated, it unscrews a little bit.

Right out of the box, 1 headset didn't work. No big deal.

Within 3 months, the microphone booms on 5 headsets had become loose and fallen off.

Within 6 months, 15 headsets had had microphone booms fall off or just quit working.

Within a year, 23 headsets had quit working for various and inexplicable reasons. On many of them, the microphones or earphones just quit working without any obvious reason.

It has now been about 15 months since purchase and I am now down to only 10 working headsets.

DON'T BUY THESE HEADSETS!

[+] 6.0 Volume/balance control problem
I previously had an earlier model of this headset, but had to replace it when the mic boom arm started losing connection with the headset. I was very pleased to be able to get the same (albeit updated) model. However, I have a major problem with the volume/balance control. First the volume control simply doesnt' work and secondly, the balance control is VERY finicky, and I have to have a surgeon's touch to get it set to a point where I hear sound through both sides.

I still really like the headset. I just wish the volume/balance control was working correctly. FYI - I received the headset in the original Logitech packaging, so it was a manufacturing problem, not anything the reseller did, because they provided excellent service.

[+] 2.0 Only purchase with a waranty
As others have stated this headset is extremely easy to break, it has the durability of a flimsy piece of paper. I myself have gone through about 5 of these thankfully under warranty at best buy. The first one lasted 2 weeks and then the volume dial became stuck and refused to move at all. The second ones mike went dead in about 3 months, and the third one which surprised me the most's, its top wiring came a loose and fell apart the second day and while it worked fine once I taped it back together I think it was highly unacceptable that it fell apart so quickly. Alot of people complain about it being uhcomfortable but I found it to be quite comfortable and were it not for its flimsiness it would be a excellent headset but with that said it I can really only give it 1 star for comfort.

[+] 2.0 Don't do it.
I've had this set a little over a year now. I've run into three problems with it that would cause me never to purchase another.

1.) Extremely uncomfortable. The earphone padding is very cheap and with in 15-20 minutes your ears will begin to hurt, for users that wear glasses it is even worse. The pressure will hurt your ears and press your glasses ear pieces up against your head causing you even more discomfort.

2.) The boom mic and overall plastic used on this headset is very weak. The first week I owned this set I was breaking out the duct tape for a repair.

3.) Wiring connection going into the headset is weak.

4.) Sound quality is average, weak base, adequate sound record ability.

[+] 2.0 Only good if you have a laptop running XP and intend to replace it a month later
I bought this and I have many many problems with it.
For one it's jacks use an outdated technology, the microphone will not work with Vista under any circumstances, the headphone part worked on my desktop(but the cord was so short I needed an extension for it to reach the jack) but not my laptop.

The sound quality is very poor, its very quiet and the sound cuts out depending on what position the volume is at, and how the cord is strung.

Often times it'll be to quiet, so you'll turn the volume up on the headphones, the sound will cut out while you're changing it(replaced by a static), and if you go past the + sign at the top it'll cut out until you lower it.

Not only that, but sometimes it'll be to quiet at max, but you can make it louder by lowering the volume, then slowly raising it again, which for some reason puts it at a higher setting.

Also, randomly the sound will only come out of the left or right side, you'll have to fiddle with the volume SOME MORE, to hopefully get it to come out of both sides, oh and if you do get it coming out of both sides, you'll only get Mono sound anyways, and it'll get quiet again.

Not only that but the thing is uncomfortable! I have to take it off every 30 minutes and take a break because I can't stand wearing it for too long!

It's barely adjustable, you can have a medium small sized head or a small media sized head, if it's large you're out of luck.

it has no padding on the band at the top, instead it has thin leather.
You better hope you have short hair because otherwise it'll get stuck between the adjustable parts, the leather, or the space between the microphone and the right headphone.

Oh and better hope your ports are to the right of you, because the cord goes to the right at such an angel that if its to the left it's either wear it backwards(which is even more uncomfortable) or strangle yourself with the cord.

and like ALL Logitech products, it breaks VERY easily, after about a month the left headphone part stopped working completely.

Now maybe this is good if you run an old computer or if you just use XP, I don't know, but considering all new computers these dies come with Vista, or Linux(unless it's a Mac), you're screwed if it's a newer computer.

oh and by the way it doesn't work with Linux.

And to think this had a "Certified for Vista!" sticker on the packaging when I got it, when the bloody thing DOESN'T WORK WITH VISTA!

A little off-topic, but since this didn't work with my laptop which is what I originally purchased it for, I went and bought another Logitech headset, which was USB, and although it worked with vista, in order for a program to recognize it, you had to restart it after you plugged the headset in, and also the USB part itself was long and flimsy, and it broke after a months use, so I got another Logitech headset which once again broke recently.

Logitech is on my list of Brands to avoid now.

[+] 10.0 Execellent Headset
This headset is excellent. The sound quality is great and the microphone is perfect. When I am using them with my webcam the noise canceling microphone works great. My music even sounds great! The only thing that I do not like is that the headset is not USB so I have to unplug my speakers in order to use them.

[+] 2.0 AS with other reviews....
These lasted about 4 months of non abusive use. I have gone through four pairs of logitech headphones and they have all failed in about 6 months of use. This is shoddy that they would build these things this badly. The headset was fine when it worked, but would cut out when the built in volume control was moved or bumped something. I think this was the problem that caused the failures.

Avoid these headphones there built like cheap crap.

[+] 6.0 Volume control ruined it
Who on earth designed the volume controls for this thing? It's an almost-flush "ring" with a bump the size of a pinhead that rotates with amazing resistance. If you have the smallest bit of skin oil or moisture on your finger, you can't rotate the wheel. Your finger slips across it. Trying to press down on the "bump" makes the wheel immovable, and your finger slips again.

I have two of these, and the slightest bend around the volume control wire connections causes drop-outs in audio. I can't seem to find one set of headphones that don't require bending of the cords to get 100% audio.

[+] 10.0 Loud, good sound
I love this headset, the sound is really loud which is important for a laptop that doesn't put out much power.

The sound is good, the response is pretty flat. The elements are big giving lots of base (I don't know why one reviewer said the opposite).

It has a mike mute switch, which is good and a volume control that is a knob (which is better than a slider because you don't have to figure out which end is up to use it).

I haven't recorded with it to test but I've been told the mike sounds good.

Note some people are confused, it's a "noise cancelling mike" not "noise canceling headphones". That means that the MIKE is only sensitive to sounds that come from the direction of your mouth. It does not mean that the ear pieces are more quiet.

But it's the sealed ear piece tight on the head kind of headphones, which gives you some isolation and more thump... But some people might not like the pressure on their ears.

[+] 2.0 Not mac compatible ...
Do not be fooled by the mac compatibility logo on the box. This product is falsely labeled! I needed a headset to use Skype on my G4 powerbook and bought this product because it had a mac logo on the box. That would normally mean it is mac compatible. However, this headset is not compatible with macs. I did some brief research and realized this product does not work because my mac only has a "line in" plug (as with most macs). In order to use this product, you must purchase a separate USB converter (not included).

If you are looking for a headset to use with your mac, make sure to buy one with a USB plug. I bought the Plantronics Audio 85 with USB for Apple on Amazon and it works just fine.

[+] 4.0 A great product at first...
I bought this product in April because I liked the price and features it offered. Up until recently, it was working perfectly. The sound had been great and the microphone worked well. I also liked the volume control feature. Now, however, the right earphone sound is sometimes barely audible. The sound from it comes and goes. Now, I am hoping that I will not have to send it in to the manufacturer for a replacement. This is not acceptable for a practically new product.

[+] 8.0 Not too Shabby
It has been three months since I bought this headphone and it is still functioning very well. For that price this is definitely a great buy! Just don't expect it to totally silence out the noise around you. It's not BOSE or Altec Lansing and it's <$15. If you are looking for a cheap headphone because your roommate had been complaining about your music, grab this.

[+] 2.0 Never again
As with many others, I have been having problems with the headphones. The left speaker went out completely. Even if I do swivel with the chord, I can't hear continuous sound from the left speaker because it goes out so quickly. I recommend using earphones or other headphones and getting a better microphone. This mic is so close to your mouth, you often hear complaints about hearing your breathing. I'm never buying headsets like these again.

[+] 4.0 Not very good
Pros:
1) volume and mic on/off controls
2) sound is decent

Cons:
1) uncomfortable - it presses on the ears in such a way that extended wear results in discomfort
2) mic is too far from mouth - it can't pick up my voice sufficiently. When using it for VOIP, people at the other end can barely hear me.

The sound quality on these are inferior to anything I've ever heard. If you aren't picky about your sound quality, these will probably be ok. The mic works great. Right now, I just wear them around my neck for the mic and keep my Bose headphones on.

[+] 4.0 Uncomfortable - Poor Sound
I really couldn't find these comfortable after having them on my head for about 10 or 15 minutes. Ear pieces are really hard and small and barley cover my already small ears.

Also, Vista doesn't play well with 1/8th microphone jacks, at least on my Creative X-Fi sound card (didn't bother with my onboard audio) since I can't find these comfortable to even wear.

Sound quality is ok. Decent bass but all mids with NO highs. Everything simply sounded flat.

These are going back to the store I bought them from and I'm buying the Logitech USB desktop mic and stick with my expensive Sony Studio Monitor noise canceling headphones.

[+] 6.0 Good microphone, poor headset
The headphone on this headset has pretty good sound reproduction, not the best I've heard, but adequate. The speaker cups block a small amount of noise, but don't completely block the sound of my computer running beside me. The microphone is good, it picks up my voice really well even with the ambient noise of my PC. Unfortunetly, after wearing the headset for an extended period of time (1-2 hours) my ears hurt quite a bit. Furthermore, the band over the head feels flimsy and isn't adjustable. The mic lacks any adjustability as well(it can only be swung up and down) but this hasn't been an issue for me.

[+] 2.0 Save your money and buy a cheaper headset
I bought this POS with a holiday gift in January 2008 and after a week the volume control stopped functioning properly and only worked on the two extremes: too loud and too quiet. Its not a useful feature anyhow b/c sound is better managed through a computer than the headset so you're paying for something you don't need and won't use.

In addition, the speakerphone stopped working nearly three months after purchase and now I'm simply left with a decent noise reducing headset.

[+] 4.0 Uncomfortable, So Fairly Useless
[...]

From the get-go, I could tell this headset was not as comfortable. It was too tight on the sides, especially since I wear glasses. The phones would push on my ear, which pushed on my frames, which caused me to CONSTANTLY take the headset off. The second aggravating thing was the headband. It is not wide (like the CA), but thin, and the headset is fairly heavy. So the headband would start digging into the top of my head (if I wore it long enough after my ears were hurting).

Besides comfort, we tested the mic. Now, the CA had very good noise-canceling and would only pick up my voice. No background noise, not even a conference call that I had going over the computer's speakers for my husband to hear. The CA mic was awesome for my voice too - I don't like to speak very loudly, and even our Panasonic 2-line cordless phones proved that callers had trouble hearing me. But the CA mic didn't have a problem, everyone I talked to mentioned how awesome I sounded.

But the Logitech? Didn't even come close. The mic picked up A LOT, especially after I had to boost the decibels to try and get people to hear me better. My husband actually snapped his fingers on the other side of the room, and the mic picked it up!

I've used it for two days and plan on exchanging it tomorrow for the $17.99 Cyber Acoustics stereo version of our original mono headset.

Perhaps I should go write a review for CA's headsets now...

[+] 4.0 Good sound, but poor design
I was initially very pleased with these headphones, but after using them for about two months they started having problems. I noticed that switching the position of the microphone seemed to change performance significantly. After 4 months, only certain frequencies could be heard. I finally got fed up with them and decided to see what the problem was.

Sure enough, the microphone hinge is held by a screw and nut that fray the wires that run through that portion of the unit. Further up that side of the unit, I noticed that the fit adjustment groove also frays the wire that runs through it. With these design flaws, I don't expect anyone to get more than six months of normal use out these headphones.

[+] 8.0 Good product with affordable price
I use this product to fulfill my need of using online phone. I just need to connect it to my laptop using the available cables and ports and everything works great. It just simple like that. The main power of this product is the availability of microphone which is attached on the unit. The quality of the sound also comparable with others. Different product with the same capability will cost you more, but not for this one. This product is very good for you in term of the function and price.

[+] 6.0 To tight for the average head, but worth the money
These headphones/mic are not trying to be the best. So, for less than $20 its a good deal. However, they are not the most comfortable. We use these to call our family via Skype to South America and Asia and for short-term communications they work fine. They are not 'Over the Ear' as they appear to be, but 'On the Ear' which is less comfortable if worn for a long time. If you are needing headphones for telecommuting, telemarketing or long-term phone calls, these are not advisable. Spend more money and buy a pair that go over the ears as they are less likely to put pressure on the ears and cause pain. But again, for the price, they are not bad.

The product works great. The noise canceling function is wounderful, and the sound is good enough for the price of the headset.

[+] 4.0 Uncomfortable and not durable
I've had these headphones for about 13 months now. I've gone through through two pairs in that time. One in 10 months and the other in 3. In both circumstances they shorted out near the earpiece. They are also rather uncomfortable and start to pinch on your ears and head after only a short while of wearing.

[+] 10.0 Excellent headset
After reading all the negative reviews about this product I decided to suck it up and give it a try. I've been using this headset for about 1-2 months now and I have no complaints so far. The microphone works great, the headset fits comfortably on head, and it has a sturdy frame. I mostly use it to play online games, but it's also good for listening to music, watching movies, etc. The only things that bothers me though is that sometimes when adjusting the volume it almost feels like I'm losing sound in one part of the headset, but it's not a big problem or it could be just me. Overall 5/5.
