Excellent, small inexpensive speakers
The Logitech S120 speakers are an excellent buy, but remember, they are small inexpensive speakers! You are going to get surprisingly good sound from them. However once again, remember they are small inexpensive speakers. If you are looking for speakers that will blast out full range, high quality sound, look somewhere else and pay a lot more.
I wanted them to plug into my cell phone, so I could listen to my MP3s and recorded audio in the bedroom and bathroom. For that purpose they work great! The volume control has good range and the sound quality was very good.
Actually, these attractive, little speakers were unexpectedly heavy. I found them quite stable on my nightstand.
I would highly recommend them, just don't expect them to being something they are not intended to be. They are excellent, small inexpensive speakers.

Just what I wanted. Excellent bargain.
Specially liked: Powered directly from 110 v household outlet (no transformer power supply). Volume much greater than computer attached speakers. Unobtrusive, neat. Good value for the money.
Neutral about: Frequency response about the same as from the computer attached speakers.
Room for improvement: The speaker with the power on/off/volume control (right side) is light weight; the power transformer located at the bottom of the other speaker (left side) is heavier. Right speaker tips easily and is difficult to use power switch and maintain its balance. (I have used some double-stick tape on the base to hold it in place.) The left speaker, which is never touched, is heavier and stays in place fine.
these speakers came and hooked them up to my t.v. but they werent for my t.v. as I was lead to belelive. so hooked them up to my lap top, I couldn't get them un plugged fast enough.they crackled and couldn't hear any thing except the crackling. not worth the money. would never buy them again. Don't care if they cost $2.00!Logitech S120 2.0 Multimedia Speakers (Black)

Good basic speakers, but short & strange wiring
These are inexpensive speakers - so don't expect symphony hall sound out of them. They are basic speakers, and for that purpose, they do quite well.
The oddities - the wires are too short. They barely reach from next to my monitor down to my "desktop" computer, which is actually on a CPU shelf near floor level. The real strange thing, though, is the wiring configuration: one wire goes from the AC plug to one speaker; the next wire goes from that speaker to the control speaker; the last wire goes from the control speaker to the CPU. That's right - each speaker has a wire to an external connection, as well as a wire between the two speakers. Strange.
And, as noted - the instructions refer to both pink and green connectors; but there is actually only a green one (in addition to the power cord).
Other than that, they are fine, and about what you'd expect.

Defective Product However Amazon Made Return and Refund Super-Easy
After receiving these and following the directions to the letter (except for the "second" non-existent cord), the speakers had a horrible buzzing sound. We contacted Logitech support who suggested trying them on another device ~ which we did, and which only made the buzzing sound worse.
Plus (while looking for a solution to this), we found from the Logitech site that they have major problems with these working with the Vista Operating System, even if they are not defective (we only have Vista on one of our computers, but someone considering purchasing these who uses Vista should be aware of this ~ in fact, ************* would HIGHLY suggest going over the Logitech web site before purchasing these to see what problems people are having with various operating systems and devices). While it is great that so many people have purchased these and like them, they are not a product we personally will be purchasing again. I wasn't expecting Bose-quality sound, however was at least expecting a product which was plug-and-play and that WORKS!
However: FIVE STARS ***** FOR AMAZON: This is the first product I have ever had to return to Amazon ~ and after returning other products to other retailers in the past, the "returning" experiance was not something I was looking forward to, frankly. Therefore I was pleasantly surprised with the ease of notifying Amazon that I had received a defective product, then getting a shipping label from Amazon (follow the instructions carefully, not complicated, but do need to be followed) so I could return them at Amazon's expense. I was also pleasantly surprised that Amazon gave me so much time to return them, handy because we have had consecutive blizzards over past weeks and getting out would have been a major hassle had the time-line been more stringent.
Amazon does INDEED honor their "30-day" guarantee, they pay for return shipping if you pack it and print the shipping label and place the designated part of the label inside the package. For as many products as we have purchased on Amazon, and after reading so many of the incriminating reviews, I was surprised (number one) that this is the only product so far we have received from Amazon that is un-acceptable and that the Amazon Return Policy is designed for the ease, comfort and convenience of the Customer (and so EXTREMELY easy to use).

Defective upon delivery--one speaker does not work
The speakers are adequate for ordinary sound service--it is not a quality for a sound system. You can listen to ordinary computer audio use such as e-mail, news, and things where audio refinement is not required--it is the minimum sound you can get away with. Being damaged in shipping or from the factory did not help the quality or durability factor much (left speaker does not work). I figured, for the price I paid, it was not worth sending back and going through that long and tedious process.

Great little speakers
I purchased a 7" digital TV for my office. The speakers are so small it is hard to hear anything. Tried to use small external speakers but the TV amp is too small to produce any volume. Got these Logitech S120 speakers because they have their own power. What a difference!
Worth very penny. Great sound and good volume. Size is just right for the desk.
This may be the first negative review I have ever written. However, these speakers are not worth the money (even though they are cheap) if you plan to listen to music. The sound quality is worse then that of those old AM transistor radios. It puts a hurt on my ears! Here is a much better product: JBL Duet Speakers, White by JBL

Can't go wrong for the money
I've used various computer speakers, from 2-1, 5-1, 7-1 etc. These are pretty good for their cost here on amazon. Don't go expecting the world in quality of sound from these and you will be satisfied. I'm pretty happy with them for use in my desk at home to listen to low-mid volume music and watching things on youtube etc. There is a volume control on the side of one speaker, but it appears from the mid-to the maximum point the volume doens't actually increase. I tend to use the volume from the computer sound card itself to adjust. it also has a 3.5mm jack to plug in headphones if you wish as well. Again a solid 4 stars mainly for the value for the money.

Worked for 3 weeks
I purchased these speakers to use at work because I didn't need anything fancy. They worked fine for about 3 weeks until one day I turned them on and they made a constant loud buzzing noise. I tried other outlets and nothing worked. I noticed that some people were having the same issue. I guess you pay for what you get.
I really can't even call these decent for the price ($11.99 at Wal-Mart). They just do not have a full sound or any improvement over the speakers that come with your computer. For double the price (about 25.00 at Wal-Mart) of these Logitech speakers, you can buy the Altec Lansing system with a subwoofer that has a fantastic sound. 25 dollars is still not much money and the improvement is like night and day. My friend found some old pc speakers in the dumpster at work and gave them to me, and even though they are the old off-white color and look outdated, they still sound better than these Logitechs. So, I have three sets of speakers (plus all the sets that originally came with my computers over the years) and I have to say these Logitechs are just not worth the money (it could be said that they are better than nothing..I suppose).
Not bad speakers just to have some sound for your pc, if u like listening to music and loud these def. arent the speakers for you, but for a kids pc or just to have sound on ur pc they work fine. worth the money

Great speakers for the money
Sturdy speakers that are easy to use. I opted for these since they have a standard headphone jack that I can plug into my mp3 player. The bass is a little weak, but I wasn't expecting great bass for this price of speakers.
It was great buy and i enjoy using it. It makes watching and listening to a video on your PC more interesting!
These are a good set of small speakers if you need something to fit into smaller areas. However, the Creative Labs speakers that run around $20 are better sounding and a bit bigger. They have a bit better bass too. I have both set and I have used the Creative Labs as a set for a DVD player that I brought and they worked fine. These are good speaker just not as good as the Creative Labs.

Okay sound - great for small areas - not very powerful
I found this as a great deal for only $9.99 plus liked their small size. However, their sound quality although pretty good can't replace my old REVEAL Hi-Fi Stereo speakers. Yes, REVEAL which is like 20 years old still outperform these but it maybe because these are not Hi-Fi. In short, if you're looking for good speakers for small area for little money these are great. But if you're looking for powerful sound or at least Hi-Fi you better look elsewhere. Happy Shopping
First off, to the people that have had problems, Call Logitech. They have top notch customer service. These are warrantied for 3 years. Please remember that before you call them worthless. Give Logitech a chance to rectify the problems.
Ok, here is the deal.....these speakers are what they are. A great sounding laptop speaker for under 15 bucks. Are they Bose? No, they are Logitech, which make an affordable product for the average user. I have been using Logitech products forever and I find they are top notch in the computer peripheal department. I purchase their products with the assurance that if there is an issue, it will be rectified. I have only had to contact them 2 seperate times. That is over 12 years and numerous purchases. Both issues were taken care of quickly and painlessly!
If I have a choice between Logitech or another brand within the same price range, I will most likely pick Logitech.
These speakers replaced a crappy set of nonname speakers. It is for a laptop and we use this for basic things. If you are looking for speakers that play music really loud, or if you are an audiophile, this is not the size speaker you need. You need to pay a little more to get a little more.
All, in all, these are awesome, functional, light, and server their purpose for a miniscule amount of money~!

Boost volume on digital tv
Great product for the price. Probably should have gotten higher watt output as they are installed in the garage on a dtv. Still have to quit work to hear the tv at 15 feet away. The set I bought for a computer in the house provides all the volume I need inside.
The power cord was too short (maybe 3.5 feet) to reach my outlet so I had to return them.

Worked fine for 3 months, then they died
I bought these speakers in September and had no problems with them until yesterday, when they stopped working completely. All I get is a loud buzzing noise, whether or not they're plugged into the PC. I see from the user reviews here that others have had the exact same problem. I wasn't looking for a super sound system -- just a pair of inexpensive speakers that worked -- and even with the low price point, by buying a name brand like Logitech I thought I'd get speakers with a reasonable chance of working for at least a few years. Guess not.
Based on the fact that several people have reported this issue, I would recommend against buying these speakers. I thought they were a great deal until they stopped working after only three months.

These are good for the price. I think they deserve four stars.
Pros:
-Very cheap
-Good enough sound quality for basic computer use and gaming
-They can be quite loud if you want them to be
-They are good looking
Cons
-The sound quality is just okay. I don't use them to listen to music.
-The headphone jack is kind of tight

Affordable & Awesome
If you're like me and you don't care about surround sound, you just want something that works, this is perfect. My computer sounds great, dvds, and it works with my ipod. I bought $40 speakers in the past that came with a huge black box that took up space, and then there was a warning that it was not magnetically protected or something and could erase my hard drive. Why would anyone make speakers like that? These are small, convenient and sound good enough for me, especially for the price.
I can't believe I haven't been able to find anything like this at computer stores... Just what I was looking for and so much more affordable than I expected.
Bought these for my second computer that lives in my scrapbooking room. I don't use it a lot so the idea of spending a lot of money on speakers did not appeal to me. My husband has a fancy set and sub for his computer but guess what the sound isn't that much better! If you are looking for a fuller range buy the sub but don't spend more on those pricier brands!

Logitech computer speakers
Logitech S120 2.0 Multimedia Speakers (Black) can't beat the price, for this size speaker, Amazon is less expensive than Dell. Some of the reviews were on the optimistic side. The quality is okay, not great, on the tinny side, but for the price a great choice.
I wanted speakers for my laptop that were easy to use. These do just that. Plug in the power cord, attach the cord to the speaker outlet on the computer and turn on. Easy. They don't have the sound quality of a high end speaker, but at this price, who cares!

Beward a low price!
I was suckered by the low price - these speakers are CRAP. I bought them to listen to background music while working on the computer, not for high volume use. But they produce extremely low volume and when the volume knob is turned up, they distort terribly. You get what you pay for, and these are a total waste of money. I sent them back immediately and am ordering more expensive speakers. What a waste of time ... my own fault ... buyer beware.

Pretty good--for budget speakers.
I'm somewhat torn about what to rate the S120s at. On one hand, I'm not at all impressed with the sound quality (and I'm no audiophile), but then again, I really don't have a wealth of experience with budget speakers so these may actually be among the better sounding ones (I've definitely heard worse). On the other hand, they are brand-name units and are built like a tank. Ultimately, I decided to give them the benefit of the doubt and rated them four stars as opposed to the three I was leaning toward.
As usual with Amazon, they arrived in an acceptable amount of time in good condition. I was disappointed to find them packaged in an OEM-style brown box when they were clearly identified as "Retail" units on the website when I ordered(I suppose it's possible brown boxes are the retail packaging for these). They're small (expected for budget speakers), but are quite solid with good fit-and-finish and have respectable heft for their size. Fairly plain, styling-wise, they're appearance is unobtrusive and, given their size, all but vanish on the desktop. The power and audio cables are long enough for most applications, though, being AC-powered, some may have issues with the relatively thick power cord causing placement difficulties. The power/volume knob and headphone jack are well-enough placed on the outboard side of the right speaker. Set-up is about as simple as possible--connect to source, plug-in power and switch on.
Functionally, they're good enough. They're reliable with a brief warm-up time and produce a decent amount of volume. There's minimal hiss and static and they don't really distort until cranked way up. The problem is the dynamic range, the bass is extremely weak. I'm not just talking about a lack of boom, I'm talking about sound that's anemic (borderline hollow) and somewhat washed-out and tinny (though I wouldn't go as far as harsh). The S120s look to be S220s without a subwoofer, so I'm guessing these speakers were designed to be run with a sub and would likely sound very good with one.
I guess it comes down to how tight of a budget are you on? If you absolutely can't spend more than $10-15, then these speakers are a very good choice, as I seriously doubt you'll do much better for the money. If you can spend the extra 15 or so dollars more, then the S220s (or other 2.1 systems) would likely prove a much better sounding option. Either way, for the money, the S120s are pretty darn good. Qualified recommended.

Not the best sound quality
This speakers are cheap so dont expect great sound quality. After you turn the volume up half way the sound is horrible but if you are looking for just a cheap pair of speakers for a quiet house these are good. I wouldnt recommend using these for a party.
I got these to replace our old speakers which mysteriously stopped working. I've used Logitech products before and they usually work great. As do these speakers. They're much smaller than I anticipated but the size makes them ideal for the tiny space I put them in. The sound quality is excellent as well.

Inexpensive and effective
No frills here, but they work. As expected though, there's a bit of feedback (?) or just noise if you have them turned up too high without also having your sound source turned up enough. I use these as external speakers for my laptop -- and they work great, especially given the low price. But if I have the volume on the laptop turned really low and then crank up the speakers, you get a lot of that fuzzy background noise. It's distracting and a little annoying but easy to fix. Just keep an eye on both volumes and you should be fine.
They're very small (convenient) but I find the cord connecting them together to be too long (inconvenient). If these were more powerful and of a higher quality it would be worth it to position them a few feet apart to try and attempt some sort of surround sound but as it is, they don't really cut it. I most often sit them right beside my laptop so theoretically I only need about a 2-ft-long cord (max) connecting them. I'm also not sure why they require an external power source. I've used other computer speakers that just plug right into the computer's headphone jack without a dedicated on/off switch. Either they're in-use or they're not. The fewer cords the better, but it's not that big of a deal. And you can't beat the price.

$12 = A great set of "Work" speakers
I purchased these for the office. My PC at work has no speakers and I didn't want to pay a ton to hear when I received a new email. These hit the spot perfectly. The best part is the fact that the speakers have a headphone jack near the volume knob so I don't have to reach around to the back of the PC if I need to keep quiet.
I always recommend this set to my coworkers as their standard black appearance fits nicely onto any desk and the orange light clearly indicates when they're on. Again a huge plus to have the headphone jack built in too.
Don't expect thumping bass or distortion free loud music blasting from these speakers. Do expect a solid set of work speakers that'll play the occasional YouTube video or podcast quite nicely.

Bought 2 sets for 2 computers.
I bought 2 sets of these. One for each of my kids computers. These work just as well (if not better) then the ones that came with the computers originally. They have plenty of volume and a good sound. They don't sound like a tin can or have any kind of echo. They sound like basic, good quality speakers. My kids watch movies on their computers all the time and the sound that comes from these is great and the sound is plenty loud. The price is a steal and I would not hesitate buying more of these. 5 Stars!
I love these speakers. On the pictures they did not look small, so when I got them they were small to me. They were not even bigger than my lotion bottle. I tried them out and they were loud and clear. They are not like bose speakers. They are bose mini speakers, lol. There cool.
