pretty good camrea
well i have to say this camera is great it has its and good and bad but beside that it a pretty neat camera to mess around with wish it came with a usb connector but buying film isn't bad
I've had this camera for about a year now, having forgotten to review it when I first received it, and I love it. The colors are surprisingly vibrant, more so than I had expected, and the camera has a nice feel to it. Because this is a fisheye camera, I find that I've stopped using the viewfinder. I just point the camera at my intended subject and shoot. Part of the fun is in not know exactly how your picture will turn out, and usually it turns out great.
This camera works best in bright, natural lighting. I used it while flying kites with friends and loved the results. Inside, the pictures tend to turn out dark without the flash, or white washed with the flash, as the flash tends to be too strong.
This camera isn't perfect, which it the point. You have to expect and embrace the imperfections, otherwise this camera will drive you crazy. But for those looking for something fun and different, I fully recommend the Lomo Fisheye.
This camera is really easy to use -- once you get the hang of it. I suggest getting a cheap role of film to shoot some test shots before doing anything serious. Also, it works best outside. Clearly this isn't a primary camera but it's nice to have in your camera bag for a more unusual or artsy shot.

Fun and funky little camera
This camera is pretty fun to play with. I guess I had different expectations for how the the pictures would come out. But once I knew what to expect I had a lot of fun with it! When you get your prints back, the image is in a black circle. And if you're not careful, your feet may end up in the shot because of the lens being so wide! Also I got a few shots with the lens cap dangling in the way. So be mindful of your lens cap and your feet and just go to town!
For what it is it is darn amazing, if you want critical sharpness don't spend thirty dollars on a single exposure 35mm fisheye. Go Spend a thousand on a specific lens. Its great fun, a great travel camera.

Awesome......take advantage of the flash!
Camera is great. Love it. Wasted almost my whole first roll because I should of used the flash more. The lens doesn't seem to grab as much light as a regular lense, so use the flash often. Total user error though. Camera is awesome. Enjoy!

Neat Little Camera
It's a neat little camera, and it takes pretty good pictures. Don't expect super high quality photos, but it's worth the money if you have fun with photography and want a little fisheye camera to play with. However, I did have to return it once because the flash broke on mine the first time, but the return was easy, and my new one works just fine!

Fun little Camera
Great camera for fun little 35mm fisheye shots. Thing is on the first one I had the flash didn't work, but the Lomo folks def came through with support on that. The flash sometimes is blinded by how the lens sticks out form the body and casts a shadow. But good camera for the price!

Cheap way to experience Fisheye Lense
I love this camera! I brought this in chrismas 2006 and I think it was a great cheap way to try out fisheye lense. This camera is very manual: 1) You will have to load & unload the film in yourself. 2) You have to turn on the flash most of the time for your shots. 3)Every time you are done with taking a picture you'll have to rewind the film. 4) When you finish the film, you would have to wind the film all the way until you hear the click sound manually.
My 1st roll of the film didn't come out at all coz I didn't stick in the battery for the flash. On my 2nd roll of film after I started using the flash on almost every single picture (except for under super bright sunlight), then the pictures come out great! I would recommand using 400 speed film to be safe. Don't be cheap to use the 100 speed film coz it's not working very well. The pictures come out to be VERY dramatic and interesting and I love this camera ever since. Will buy the 2nd generation with the fisheye soon!!

Not worth the hype
I don't know what all the hype is about. I read all the reviews on here and thought that the pricey-ness for what it is, would be worth it. But I was wrong! First, the camera itself feels like a cheap disposable. Still, I gave it a chance and was genuinely excited to try this camera when out I first received it in the mail. I took photos everywhere -- indoors, outdoors, in daylight, in the dark, with flash, without flash, everything! I took 8 rolls of film and got them developed, just waiting for work to end so I could pick up my photos. What a disappointment! First of all, the lens protrudes out the front of the camera, so some shots look like a big shadow is intruding the middle of the picture. Second, the "fish-eye" aspect of the camera isn't all that noticeable. I want more! Third, the flash makes subjects nearly unrecognizable. Fourth, things were either too dark even in the daylight, or washed out with the flash. Lastly, I only got maybe 2 or 3 "cool" photos out of the 8 rolls of film I took! Not worth it, in my opinion.
What a great special effect camera! I got some amazing shots and am so glad I bought it. The most successful shots were the really up close ones or the pics of large buildings and outdoor shots. Especially interesting were the pictures I took in San Francisco of the big beautiful victorian homes. What funky coolness. I would *highly* recommend this camera.

This camera=my life
SEriously this is a great fun little camera to have. Its cheap, it takes great and interesting pictures and there is always a suprise when u get them developed. My only complaint is that it took me forever how to understand how to load the film. If you have never used 35mm film in an old school camera...i sugest u learn before u go and buy a bunch...i wasted a lot of money. Otherwise its a great camera
This is a good camera... the only problem is that you really can't use the flash. The lens covers the flash and the bottom corner comes out dark from lack of light. Other than that I've had a lot of fun with it and got a lot of good pictures.
This camera is a lot of fun. It's not just for snapshots; many pictures can be distorted through the Fisheye lens for artistic pictures.

Fun for a month or two
It was fun taking the pictures - getting in everyone's face. Made us laugh a few times looking at the final prints. You never know what the outcome will be which is fun. The pictures don't turn out perfect but it's not a professional camera! Worked good on our dog with a long snout. Some digital camera's have a fisheye option so check that out b/c they turn out much better. Look around for a good price.
This camera is sure to give you a new photo experience. Although it takes a little practice to get perfect photos, the result is definitely something you have never experienced! Unmatched by other cameras, the fisheye lens has become a favorite of mine. I'd recommend this camera to anyone wanting to get some interesting and beautiful pictures!

Fisheye 35mm Camera
This is a great, fun camera. Just load the film and shoot. It's easy to use and easy to sneak up on your subject because theirs no focusing and fooling with it. You can use the camera with one hand, including turning the wheel to the next frame. Worth the low price.

absolutely fascinating
Being a long time photo nut, for the holidays, my wife bought me the fish eye, in gold no less.
I shot Fujicolor 400, took pictures of my car from all kinds of crazy angles, streets, people, all were shot with the awarness that the viewfinder just was an aid.
Took the the film into a one hour developer, with the following instructions, no prints, just do the negatives and put them on a cd, he did that, got them home and viewed them.
They were wonderful, did a little work on them with Picasa 2 and converted some to black and white, it seems like artwork.
Today in Queens NY, Floyd Bennet Naval Air Station, the Concord was taken off the deck of the Intrepid and is now on view to the Public, am taking the Lomo with me, should be fascinating.
My only negative about the Fisheye is that the film advance is a bit raggedy, but really works fine.
I love this camera
I bought this camera to work with distorted effects in photography. When looking through the lens one does not see the fisheye effect, it occurs on the negative. The first few rolls I shot were in black and white film(kodak 400 b/w processing) and I was not satisfied. However, I began to shoot in color film (kodak 400) and the photos are absolutely beautiful. The lens has a depth of 170 degrees so aim up more when shooting vertical as to not include yourself in the image by accident. Also, beware of photo technicians, many of my photos were crop incorrectly. Overall, it is a lovely camera and I definately suggest it.

It's a fun little camera, but overpriced...
A pleasant little camera that takes good (for a toy camera) quality fisheye shots. The image circle is smaller than a 35mm frame, so be prepared for images that look like they were taken through a toilet paper roll. You'll see the inside of the lens barrel. The build quality is just a hair above a disposable camera, dressed up with some faux leather. It's certainly a good alternative to going out and buying a "real" fisheye lens just to screw around, but as you would expect from the Lomographic Society - it's about twice as expensive as it should be.
This camera is a pretty basic cheap film camera, but it takes surprisingly good photos. I love how some of my photos came out with it, I caught a hot air balloon show, and the fish eye view makes it look totally surreal. this is definitely worth the money.
everything was great about this camera. the shipping was quick (2 days), no problems with the product, it was everything i asked for. i was hesitant to purchase this item because i was unsure if it came with a lens cap, which it did.
being an avid photographer with a love of altered photos, i was an instant fan of lomo cameras. the fisheye is the second one i have and i love it amazing!! plus mine is gold!

Let's hear it for easy fun and creativity
This adorable lightweight camera is perfect for people who want a unique look to their photos but don't have the money to invest in fancy camera bodies and wide-angle lenses. The fisheye camera is as easy to use as any point-and-click, and it's fixed-focus lens means no zooming, focusing, or other photographic buzz-killers. What you see is what you get, wrapped into a gently bended shape with vignetted corners. The only consideration is that you must photograph well-lit subjects or shoot outside, as there is no aperature or shutter speed control-but it's a lot of fun!! Try to recreate all your favorite band photos from the '90s by shooting on high-speed black and white film.

This Camera is all about YOU!
I read the comments (even the bad one) before I purchased this camera. I took a chance because for something that might be really cool, its only $40. And he was right, the viewfinder is useless, but they even tell you that in the manual. Also, you do have to get really close to the subject, and shots only come out good if there's LOTS of light (especially indoor). Anyway, my first set of prints came out just okay, with a few amazing shots. From that set of prints I learned how to maximize the potential of this camera. The key is to fill up the frame. I took a shot of my friend out in a parking lot. The foreground was just her and the background was the sky. It came out so cool because the entire frame had something in it. There were scattered clouds everywhere, if the sky had been clear it would have just been clear blue space. But because I filled up the frame with objects everywhere, there were things to be distorted with the fisheye. I took another shot of the courtyard of a tall apartment building. That came out great because there were so many vertical lines and the fisheye could bend them. This camera doesn't take great pictures by itself so don't expect it to. If you've got the talent, imagination, or just plain curiousity, it's a great way to spend $40. I love it!

Lomo - rarely all it's cracked up to be
This is my second Lomo camera - 1st being the Kompact. I was disappointed with that one and I'm not too thrilled with the fisheye.
They aren't lying when they tell you the viewfinder doesn't work. In fact, it's partially blocked by the lens.
I just developed my first roll of film today - shots of pets and friends out on the town.
They basically looked like snap shots within a circle on a 4x6 sheet of paper plus, there was a large dark blur on the bottom right of each "circle"... maybe some flaw? Not sure.
I think this camera is best for daytime, scenic, outdoor pics or incredibly close shots. I thought I was close to my cat being a foot away from his nose (they say to stay about 3' away from your subject) but a large portion of the floor was also in the shot and he there was no real fisheye distortion.
Also, the white rubber trim, lens cover, and straps are just asking to look flithy after a few trips out.
If you are financially capable of developing a few rolls of film to get that ONE fantastic shot... then, Lomo is the brand for you because when you DO get that great shot - it's fabulous!
Cheap little camera with a pretty good glass lens. Produces suprisingly sharp and striking photos. Fixed focus and shutter / aperture, and the lens barrel partly blocks the flash, so use fast film - 400 or 800 speed - and shoot in well-lit rooms or daylight. I spent the last week sticking it in peoples faces, and the prints made us laugh. If you're expecting a Nikon, you'll be disappointed - so, Don't Expect a Nikon! Expect a fun little camera with a lot of laughs for the buck. 5 stars because it does all it tries to do.

i am a lomo freak
love this little camera. doesn't seem like much but it takes great shots. well worth it...try some b&w film for some beautiful shots.
Lomo cameras are a lot of fun. Shooting from the hip, so to say, is their motto and it works with their cameras. This camera has an awesome lens that capures your world in a whole new way. Yes this camera is plastic and cheap feeling, but the results are awesome. Rich in color and it bends your world through its fish eye lens. Have fun! I am!
