[+] 10.0 Challenging and entertaining
The new Mario Kart game is both challenging and entertaining for all ages. Thoroughly enjoyed it!

[+] 6.0 Infuriating
This game is great the first 3 weeks or so. However, as you progress through the levels, the "artificial cheats" that the Wii uses to knock you off course and impede your progress really kill any fun in the game after a while. It becomes maddeningly impossible to progress through higher levels unless you have the patience of a saint to play the same course over, and over, and over, and over, and over, and over. Time to sell it! That being said, I believe it is the best game I own for the Wii (not that I own that many), but it is quite a fun game until you get to the breaking point.

[+] 10.0 Fun and challenging
This game is a lot of fun to play on your own or with multiple players. I purchased it a few months ago and I really enjoy both the controller style of the Wii Wheel and the actual game play. The courses are fun and challenging, and the scoring system of medals is motivating to improve your score. It's fun to unlock new courses, players and carts, and also to see which character you can use to get the best time on a course.

[+] 10.0 Love it,even for adults-highly recommend for multi-player fun!
So, I am not a hard core gamer. I used to own a Nintendo NES, and we have a PS3, but I must admit it's for Blu-Ray use. The Wii provides a sufficient amount of challenge without a discouraging complexity for us "nomn-gamers". We LOVED this game! The sound and landscape and responsiveness of the wheel are awesome! We laughed and played several times. A great time, for all ages with different levels and challenges, but easy enough to have a good time!

[+] 10.0 Fun game
This is a great game if you want to just sit back and play a video game. The graphics are great. If you have played the previous Mario Karts, the gameplay is identical. Several courses have been ported from the older versions (DS, SNES, N64) into this version. Playing with the Wii wheel may look dorky, but it actually feels normal once you get used to it. Online play is great.

[+] 10.0 Mario Kart
Great classic game. Much better than NES or DS. Bought one for my 28 year old son and one for my 8 year old grandsons. They love it. I'm not so good at it. Need an extra Wii wheel with it for each player.

[+] 10.0 Fun For Everyone!
You don't have to have the wheel to play , you can use the remote by itself, but it was a good price and I like the feel of a wheel so I got this combo pack. Like all the other Mario Kart games I had so much fun with , this is great fun ! It even has some of the old school tracks to race on for old-times sake! It's really easy to learn and it's especially fun with multiple players!

[+] 10.0 Loads of fun for all ages!
While not the best thing to look at in the graphics department (especially during multiplayer races), this game manages to be extremely fun. The control scheme(s) are great, and while I am better when using the Wiimote/nunchuch scheme, I find myself wanting to use the Wii Wheel most often because it adds to the fun. The bottom line here is that everyone can enjoy this game, and the multiplayer never gets old. The best thing I can say about this game is that I will be playing it for as long as I own a Wii. A definite must buy for the Wii.

[+] 10.0 One of Nintendo's best ideas yet
First of all, I give this game 5 stars because of the overall fun and playability level. You can play other people around the world in battles and races. We have probably spent more time playing this game than any other Nintendo game with the exception of Mario Kart for the N64. I love the "wheel" concept although you don't need a wheel to play. I have a couple complaints: the power ups are kind of lame compared to all of the other Mario Kart games. They are also harder to get it seems. My other complaint is that you can be in first place and end up in near-to-last place in about 3 seconds, it seems you have little control of this. It is almost a fluke if you win, whereas in other Mario Karts it was more directly tied to your skill level. Overall, it is so fun to battle and race people from other countries that I love this game. Sometimes you will be racing people from the UK, the US, France, Japan, and Australia all at once. SO fun! I hope Nintendo comes out with more games like this!

[+] 10.0 Great Fun for the Whole Family
Simply put, my wife and I get a kick out of the game, and our 3.5 year old son loves it. We don't really play for points, or winning anything, just mainly to have fun. And this game comes through in spades in that department. The controls are easy, which makes the game playable and fun even for younger kids. It is a must-own for the Wii in my opinion.

[+] 10.0 lots of fun!
This game was a lot of fun and easy to figure out. I love that you can play on your own, or with up to four people and all four people are playing at the same time, as opposed to taking turns. Your characters are interactive with each other if you want them to be. So my opponent gets ahead of me, I can fling a turtle at him and temporarily wipe him out ... if I am armed at the time. Lots of fun.

[+] 10.0 Mario Kart for Wii
This is coming from someone who played all the Mario Kart series except Super Mario Kart for SNESS and Mario Kart for GBA. I have to say this is a must have for any Wii owner!

The Graphics are beautiful. The screenshots on the back of the box says it all. Racing with the Wii wheel is easy and fun! It sometimes feels like your actually driving if you use your imagination! You can race with the game cube controller or the Wii remote and nunchuk if you want. You can even race with your Mii! But you have to unlock it first.

All the courses are great! Some of the classic race tracks from pass Mario Kart games are on it. Rainbow Road on this game is so beautiful! My favorite Race Track is Mario Circut 3 SNESS. I like it because its a classic and it gives me a chance to race on a track from Mario Kart SNESS which is a game I never had the chance to play.

WiFi is Very fun. I've raced against people all over the world! Its really cool! Fortunately Nintendo eliminated snaking, which had ruined
Wi Fi on Mario Kart DS. But you can pop wheelies on the motorcycles which makes you go slightly faster than the cars. There is also this thing called download Mario Kart Channel. Its when you can download your Mario Kart Stats on you Wii menu.

The bad things are the item frequency. It's unbelievable sometimes! I get hit by 2 blue shells in one lap followed by a red shell which is crazy! But don't listen to the people who say that winning is a gamble. Even though I do get hit by a lot of items, I still almost always make it to either 1st 2and or 3rd place. Another bad thing is, depending on the weight of the character, all the karts are basically the same. No one has their own individual kart so whatever character you pick, its just for eye candy.

Overall this is a great game and I recommend it to anyone who owns a Wii. Thanks for reading!

[+] 8.0 worth buying - a solid game that will last
I have two small sons and have trouble finding games that (1) they don't get overly frustrated by and (2) pass the "mom" standard. This game is a winner!

We already had a wheel from the sports package we purchased but the second wheel is necessary for the two player mode. You can play this game by yourself or with two players (in a spilt screen) against all the other racers. There are a few characters to chose from and different types of racing vehicles. My sons love the dirt bike option. There are several racing tracks to choose from with the ice track being the most difficult. Save yourself some tears and steer the little ones away from this option until they get used to the game. Our favorite was racing through the streets.

I will admit that I could not wait to get my own hands on a wheel to try a track when I saw my kids playing. It is a lot of fun and they have not gotten tired of it yet. It still remains a favorite in a rotation that includes Boom Blox - another great option. I also love that this game works for my kids (4-6) as well as their older cousins (7-10). Heck, even adults enjoy it!

It is no fun forking over money for a video game that becomes a flavor of the week (or even month). You will not have to worry about that with this game.

[+] 8.0 Great Multiplayer or Online Racer
The best that this version of Mario Kart has going for it is the multiplayer or online play. Both are easy to pick up and play and are easy to get running. Online is really neat to see all of your opponents and where they are from. There's a few cheats lurking around though, so beware. Single player is a whole different issue. The gameplay is extremely unbalanced, leaving some races on the higher difficulties to pure luck. You may run a perfect race only to be slammed by multiple weapons on the last stretch and finish dead last. It WILL happen at least once. The lack of balance can be frustrating when trying to unlock one of the many hidden characters and karts in the game. Bikes are also superior to the karts, which makes them obsolete once the better bikes are unlocked. Overall the graphics are decent but not the best, the music is addictive, and most of the tracks themselves are fun to race. It's just a shame that the powerups completely overwhelm this game. Ditch the wii wheel. You'll play with better control with the wiimote and nunchuk.

Non-stop fun, and my 3,4, & 6 year old can play! My wife and I play after the kids go to bed and play our friends all around the USA, and how cool is it to play people from all over the world with the WiFi option. The opportunity to unlock more bikes, cars, and characters will keep your interest in this game for a very very long time. It is a must have for all Mario Kart fans from the 64.

Not only do you have fun playing the best game ever from nintendo but your friends that watch you look like an idiot falling over on the floor from trying to turn to hard. The add on of other types of carts and bikes makes the tricks fun to do. Play it you will understand me when you do.

I have had this game for about a week, but haven't opened it until now when a friend came over. I didn't know what to expect because the wii is my first own video game system. I loved it! We played it for about an hour until she had to go, and then I played it with my mom for another 30 minutes after. I wanted to play it even more, but I didn't have time! I highly recommend this title for your video game collection!

[+] 8.0 Wii Mario Kart
This is challenging for me. I will be playing with my 7 year old granddaughter who is quite good at it. It has the options of playing on a personal level by regions (I am in Lawton, OK and she is in Ft. Stewart, GA.) We can play with others around the world. It has varies levels to master. It is my first experience with this type of video game. It is similar to other driving games but has much more. All ages can enjoy it.

[+] 10.0 A true Super Mario Kart
I have been a fan of MarioKart ever since it came out on the super nintendo, through the years I have played all its versions even the handheld ones (nintendo DS), Now that I'm a father I bought my son a nintendo wii with mario kart, and its a blast. Controling the kart with a wireless steering wheel is FUN, easy and it trully makes playing this game a whole new experience.

You see many of the original tracks as in previous games, but they have added new stuff, new tracks, FASTER tracks, new caracters, bonuses, and top all they added a BIKE ride where you can make stunts and all, I can't comment much on the BIKE part since I like this game so BAD that my son and I are going for gold and best times on all kart races before going into the BIke part.

Also they added a feature to the game which allows you to connect to the internet an COMPETE with other players around the world, which makes it even cooler cause you can really show how good you are on this game, we are practicing before we try it so that we don't get our butts kicked.

I recommend this game to any kid or any adult that still has the nintendo spirit within.

[+] 10.0 One of the best racing games for the Wii, ever
I am a big fan of the Wii interface, however, it has been difficult finding a fun racing or driving simulation. People of all skill levels and abilities can play this game. Although its setting is in a fantasy world, it is a compelling game with split screens that incorporate fun for the family.

You can compete as an individual, team events for racing or against each other. Multiplayer works with a split screen and the refresh rate of the game doesn't cause any lag in play.

The adapter for the controller is definitely a necessary thing to feel more realism. I purchased a 3rd party adapter for the other controller but the controller was not as responsive.

An internet challenge is another option, which I have been bold enough to try to invite someone to play with me - with no success. Maybe, a timing issue on the web? I do not know.

The graphics and music are pleasant. The challenges of each course keep you entertained for many hours at a time. Once you get into the game, it really is so hard to stop.

This is my favorite racing simulator that I have had a chance to play.

Two thumbs up for this game.

[+] 6.0 This Game is Insane
By all appearance this game may seem like a simple and fun game. But be warned, if you have a short temper or just have very little patients, you might want to think twice about purchasing this game.

My gripe with this game comes when I try to unlock everything. Suddenly all the fun antics about this game becomes annoying and will aggravate you to no end. I'll tell you it is no fun losing a race because you were cheap-shot to death. Normally these things wouldn't bother me however certain characters I want to unlock because they are not available at the start of the game. I can see having to unlock vehicles, that I don't care about that but why force me to endure all these headaches just so I can race as all my favorite characters? What will aggravate you even more about this game are the items you get in the item boxes littered throughout the stage. Too often they are items you can't even use. What good would a banana peel do me when I'm in last place?

I really hate that this game aggravates me so much because I like playing the game when I'm not trying to unlock anything. The racing wheel that comes with game is a nice touch and does add to the enjoyment of the game. (Although it doesn't really do anything)

[+] 10.0 This game is great!
Okay... so its been a VERY long time since I played mario kart. Think when I was 10 or so and had a super NES long time.

But this game has gotten more play time in our household than wii sports has, which is saying something. Its best to play with multiple players. I play this constantly with my husband and it keeps it enjoyable. For those who say that its all based on luck, there is a reason i consistently beat my husband out. Mostly because I race better. Yes, there are times where its just dumb luck and you're staring at the screen dumbfounded because you were lightening bolted, powed, red shelled, and then run over all within inches of the finish line but those times are relatively rare. As you can see when you play online, there are people who consistently do well and those who consistently do badly.

The wii wheel isn't worth going out of your way for. Everyone who's tried this game with us has tried it and discarded it. While it doesn't make play too uncomfortable, it doesn't offer any real help either.

[+] 10.0 Lots of FUN
I bought Mario Kart with Wheel based on positive feedback from a few colleagues at work. My wife thought I was wasting our money when I came home with the game. However, after watching me play, she quickly became anxious to play. After 5 minutes she was hooked. The game is easy to understand and very intuitive. Every night we look forward to playing the game after dinner. The feedback from the controller and the visual effects actually make me at times feel a little motion sickness. You can get hooked very easily. We are very satisfied with our purchase.

[+] 6.0 Fantastic game but problems developing online
Mario Kart Wii is a fantastic game. In fact I would say it is the best Mario Kart game to date. If you are buying this for the online play though, you may want to reconsider. The online play is being plagued by cheaters. They have codes they can use so they have star power through the entire game for instance. There are also ways they can have unlimited bullet bill, etc.

Great game to play with friends, but the online play is being ruined by geek cheaters.

[+] 10.0 A great "pick and up play" type game for the whole family!
What a great game this is for the ENTIRE family! Our 3 preschool-aged sons love this as much as I do, their 37-year-old mom. It is easy enough at the beginning to simply "pick up and play" without the steep learning curve of other racing games. Yet, it gets progressively more challenging as your skills increase. The game is packed with features and options that keep it highly entertaining. While Mario Kart Wii can be hard to find online and/or at the store, keep trying! The wait was worth it!

[+] 10.0 Wii are Having Fun Racing!
After playing this game on my friend's Wii, I went out and bought a Wii and this game. That's how much I enjoyed it.

I have the original Mario Kart for the Super Nintendo. The basic game play is pretty much the same. You are controlling one of the characters from the Mario universe as you attempt to race around tracks and win. Along the way, you can pick up power ups to help you or hinder your opponents. Of course, that means they can attack you as well, so watch out.

With this incarnation, you've got 32 courses to play. You start out with half of them available and earn the other half as you win races. They include fun new courses created for this version as well as the best of the courses from the older incarnations of this game.

This game can be played by one person or up to four people, each needing their own controllers. Naturally, with four players, the screen becomes smaller, so you'd want to have a larger TV.

You can also play this game over the internet. I've raced against friends across town who also have it. Or, if none of them are on line, you can race against strangers. The game will set up matches from your region or around the world.

But what really makes this game amazing in the remote. Each copy comes with one steering wheel. That's right. Just put your regular remote in the wheel and suddenly you can steer your car. I still haven't figured out quite how they set the receiver to do that. You don't need to use the wheel, however. You can just use your remote, although it isn't nearly as much fun. Heck, you can even use your nunchuck controller if you'd like.

The graphics are quite uneven on this game. The newer levels look pretty good, but the older ones are done in the same, cheesy style. Admittedly the entire thing is rather cartoonish. But it really don't dampen my enjoyment in the slightest.

Overall, this is a fun game that I know I will be playing for a long time to come.

[+] 8.0 great game, but wii wheel needs work.
Mario Kart wii has its fair share of pros and cons:

pros:
Compatibility with four control schemes makes sure everybody has a remote to match their style!
Nice cast of characters.
The drive as your mii feature is not lacking, as in other mii-integrated games.
Nice courses.
Graphics are good considering its the wii.
fun for kids and adults. Simple rules make this a "pick up and go" type of game.
Online is a great feature, alowing you to play with one, or two players over the internet

cons:
some characters seem almost inpossible to unlock, making you do perfect laps, and endless time trials.
Internet can get laggy if you dont have a good connection.
The wii wheel can not function properly if not held in an upright position, and can be too sensitive, or not sensitive at all, depending on your distance from the sensor bar.
four-player can make the screen a little crowded, especially if you have a small tv.

But dont take my word for it! I reccomend renting this or trying at a friend's to make sure that you will enjoy it. Thanks for reading!

[+] 8.0 Wii would like to race.
As far as party games go, Mario Kart has always been a blast. From a fierce rivalry with my nine-year-old sister in Mario Kart 64 to 3 am Double Dash at rowdy house parties, Mario Kart has always been to me the ultimate in casual, multiplayer gaming. As such, it's perfectly suited to Nintendo's Wii. So whether you're looking for wholesome family time or a fun addition to your kegger, Mario Kart Wii delivers in full.

Perhaps the biggest new addition is the Wii Wheel. For veteran players, it's admittedly a bit tricky to get used to. If you can work through the modest learning curve, it's well worth it. And while it's hard to justify a $10 plastic casing, you might consider getting an extra wheel if you can find one cheap. There's something to be said for an even playing field with respect to control methods, and it helps if both players look equally ridiculous attempting tricks by shaking. Also, it's responsive and accurate enough to handle the games demands, and with some practice feels completely natural. Be prepared to lose a few early races, but to enjoy the game that much more as you progress.

Those early races, however, might be the games biggest flaw. 50cc is too slow to be very exciting, and the Mushroom cup's tracks are a bit too dull to be very compelling. This combined with the wheel's learning curve, and I was a little let down by the initial experience. The later courses, however, are a ton of fun, and MKW's special cup is a real winner. It adds up to enough variety to satisfy all Mario Kart fans, with straightforward circuits for the kids and kickass editions of Bowser's Castle and Rainbow Road for the more competitive.

Mario Kart Wii also features a slew of retro tracks from every previous game in the series. They all look great on Wii, especially the old-school Mode 7 ones from SNES and GBA. The transition to a 3d environment gives these courses a very cool retro look, and devotees of the series will love em. Mario Kart 64 tracks are quite a bit more polished now, and while the gamecube tracks look about the same, it's good to see it run in widescreen. All in all, a very fun addition for fans.

From a technical standpoint, the game is hit and miss. The character models are really, truly, inexcusably poor. They're really not the focus though, as the environments take center stage and all look quite pretty. Also, Dolby Pro Logic proves it still has some life to it and definitely strengthens the experience with surround. The Wii remote's speaker adds quite a bit as well; another reason to go with the wheel.

The unlockables are the most fun aspect of one-player, and there are a lot to be found. Many can be found in natural progression through the game, but some might require google. I'll just say that between characters and vehicles, there's incentive here for the committed player to master literally every course.

Mario Kart really shines in multiplayer. The battle mode isn't the expected classic, but it's fun nonetheless. The options for local racing initially seem limited, but if you catch the small rules button in the setup, you can tailor your race to whatever classic Mario Kart mode you prefer. Online is truly excellent: a ranking system lets the world's hard-core players go at it, and two new tournaments a month keep the game fresh.

All-in-all, this is really nothing short of a must-have game. If you bought your Wii for casual fun, you need this game. If you bought your Wii as a Nintendo fan, you need this game. In short, pick it up if you get the chance, it's guaranteed to be fun for nearly everybody.

Although this title is hard to find it was so worth the effort to get it. Both my husband and I love playing it (even sometimes late after the kids go to bed) and my 9 yr old and 3.5 yr old boys play it all the time. They love using the wheels (we are happy we bought the extra wheel for the 2nd player) and playing all of the different courses. Fun game for all.

[+] 10.0 Purchased Mario Kart for Wii
Very happy with our recent purchase of the game. My kids love it. The order was painless and it was shipped and received within a week of placing the order.
We will definately use Amazon.com in the future for more transactions!

[+] 10.0 Really fun!
This is such a super fun game. I just love how Nintendo has made video games so interactive with their Wii platform. Video games are not my strong suit, but this is really fun to play.

Technically, you can play with just the Wii remote, but it's much easier with the steering wheel. Make sure you have enough wheels for everyone who is going to play.

[+] 10.0 MarioKart Wii
Mario Kart Wii is so much fun. The Wii wheel makes the controls very realistic.

[+] 8.0 Mario Kart Review
I have been waiting for a decent Wii Game to come out for quite a while, I thought Mario Kart would be a good choice. I went to Gamestop and bought it. It truly is a fun game till u beet it then it gets quite boring and i felt like trading it in.

Good Game

Controls: A+
Graphics: A+

[+] 10.0 Mario Cart Fun For All Ages
This is a great game, but racing those 10 year olds if really tough. We've used it to race friends in Australia from California.
Tip: You need to set up a room first to race just friends, otherwise you end up with people from all over in the race.

Combine the WIFI racing with Skype for phone communications and you can talk to your friends while you race, all for free.

I would like to see some real raceways, such as LaMans and other real F1 circuits added to the list. Or, at least those close to real circuits.

[+] 8.0 Great game! Cant have more fun doing much else!
Great game by the genius Miyamoto. I frequently play this online and with buddies over the excellent Nintendo Online Mode. Too me, silence is by far better than having voice enabled online gaming. That being said, it is great fun for all of the family.

[+] 8.0 Mario Kart Wii
The game is alot of fun and even my 4 year old loves it. I think it should have different races though once you open up the carts and bikes on the 50cc( I haven't gotten any further than that yet). It gets boring pretty fast playing the same levels over and over again just to open up stuff. The only thing I don't like is that when your in first you get hit with EVERYTHING...I can't help it that I'm good!!!

[+] 10.0 MARIOKART Wii
MARIOKART Wii is so much fun. My 10 year old daughter loves it and so does my 36 year old husband. We are not a big gaming family, but this game has been played a lot in our family. Invite a couple of friends over and play with four players. It's the best.
