Product Specifications

This 25-pack of 4x DVD+RW discs for newer DVD+R/+RW drives (part number 32025541) consists of rewriteable, single-sided discs that store up to 4.7 GB of data and approximately 240 minutes of video (depending on your mastering software; 120 minutes optimal)--that's more than six times as much data as will fit on a recordable CD. You can transfer your home movies from VHS or 8 mm cassettes, back-up computer hard drives and large files, or stuff them chock full of MP3 music files and JPEG image files from your digital camera.

Rewritable "plus" discs require no finalizing--you can record, eject, and play them with minimal fuss, thanks to "background formatting." This feature, which lowers total burning time, is an advantage over the "dash" formats. For PC users, DVD+RW also offers advantages over DVD-RW, including on-disc content editing, built-in defect management, and multisession writing.

Had trouble formatting, copying and or erasing some. I googled the brand after and found I was not alone. Won't buy MEMOREX again!

I have been using these disc to transfer, self recorded VHS video's to DVD. As long as one formats the disc first it plays on all DVD players. I can record 3 to 4 movies on each disc, depending on the length of the movie. Good choice, good price.

[+] 2.0 USELESS!
I tried five of these things in my GO.VIDEO RECORDER and was luckey to get them out of my machine. These dvd+rw things would not record anything and caused my dvd recorder to squeal loudly and will no longer play pre recorded store bought movies. I threw all of them away. Sony Dvd+Rw is the best and safest for me so far.

[+] 10.0 Everything works fine
I've used about 10 of these discs so far for recording on my DVD-R as well as burning stuff on my laptop and so far all the discs have performed flawlessly. No problem recording or burning as well as viewing it afterwards. Based on my own experience with these discs I see no problem with recommending them.

[+] 4.0 Inexpensive, but flawed
Although a great bargain, the emulsion on these DVD-RW disks have uneven concentric markings, and a few had vertical flaws missing emulsion, rendering a 40% usefulness. I use 4 different DVD drives, so this isn't a burner problem. I could understand a faster write-speed product (requiring a higher laser output) to have rewrite problems, but for these 4x speed disks, I would recommend another brand (RiDATA disks have held up to 40+ rewrites successfully over several years)

[+] 2.0 Lousy Performance
I have used Memorex DVD+RW disks for years, & for those who know they seem to have changed something besides the packaging & appearance of the Disks themselves. The old model " I Presume " had dots on the label side of the disk, performed flawslessly on several Brands of DVD Recorders that I own, but this new, I'm guessing more cheaply produced disk has numerous editing & playback glitches. I bought a spindle of these at Radio Shack, & suffered hours of RE-Recording & editing. I returned to the store & purchased a pre-opened marked down 24 pack of the old style, that I had passed on previously & VIOLA! Not a Hiccup. Now even if I try to order the old style, guess what they send me!

[+] 6.0 Sony vs Panasonic ....
I thought this was a very good product. In fact is still may be but you can decide for yourselves. I have 3 DVD-recorders, two of which are Sony VXD-655's and I can record and playback with no problems whatsoever. I wanted to buy another Sony but they have been discontinued. I then bought a Panasonic DMR EZ-28. For a while the Memorox worked well. After a couple of weeks I recorded several programs on the Sony and tried to play them back on the Panasonic. It didn't work. The Panasonic said nothing had been recorded when trying to playback and would let me record without formatting first (each time I wanted to record). After I formatted it recorded and played on both machines. I brought the Panasonic in for repair (at Best Buy) and after 3 weeks they said there was nothing wrong with the Panasonic and that I should maybe use a higher quality DVD. They suggested Sony brand (which Best Buy didn't carry at the time). I may try Sony, Maxell, or Verbatim.

[+] 8.0 Good for Movies, Maybe not for computers
After using 3 packs (75 disks) primarily for recording movies I started using the dvd's on my PC. So far 1 out of the 75 has a hard error. Dvd movie recordings have built-in redundancy for error recovery. Apparently my pc is not so tolerant. I'll continue to buy them for my movie collection, but be cautious with them for computer use.

[+] 2.0 Bad Quality
I just purchased these and all are coasters. I have had good results with Memorex media before (though not the DVD +RW) but I'll stick to TDK, Sony or Fujifilm in future. Sony makes Sony; not sure who makes the TDK; Fujifilm is Ricoh; and this batch of Memorex seem to have been made by Infodisc - obviously a manufacturer to avoid. Anyone interested in doing their own check can Google DVD identifier.

[+] 2.0 A Different Memorex DVD+RW
I have purchased several hundred Memorex DVD+RW discs in the past few years and while I have had an occasional coaster most of the discs worked quite well on the Samsung DVD recorders (two different models) that I have used. My recent order of two 25-disc spindles resulted in my receiving two spindles of Memorex DVD+RWs with a Memorex label that was not the same that has been used on previously received spindles (the label on the spindle was of a different design as was the imprinted design on each disc). The discs looked and felt different. I tried formatting 10 of these discs on both of the DVD recorders and neither of the recorders would work with the DVDs. The DVDs seem to be a completely different manufacture than the discs of the Memorex brand previously putchased. What can I say other than buyer beware. You can assume a certain quality from a brand name and then all of a sudden it is gone.

[+] 10.0 Great Product, Yes, Would Buy Again.
I bought the Memorex 4x DVD+RW to complement my 2 new Toshiba DVRs I just purchased. It says I can record on them 1,000 times. I have been using it daily and recording on the same disk. So far, no problems and EXCELLENT quality. It is like watching a live broadcast with the bonus of fast forwarding through the commercials.

I do have to remember to Format each time I want to tape over something which you need to get use to after having only VHS.

At times, I have taken the disks out of my new DVR and played them in a much older DVD player. No Problems with the disks. I do finalize the disk in the new DVR before playing back on the older DVD player.

So, Great Product. Yes, I would buy again!

[+] 10.0 No Burn Failures
Memorex is my favorite brand of CD/DVD R/RW Disks. These DVD+RW disks are extremely reliable. I've run through 3 packs of these disks and I've NEVER encountered a single burn failure writing to them with my DELL E521 DVD Burner.

I purchased these to replace some that I have been using for 10+ years and finally met their rewritable limit. I never experienced any problem with those (until they wore out) and so far no problems with the new ones.

[+] 4.0 DVD RW gets ruined for no reason
I used this DVD RW to backup my files. It worked the first few times. But when i was about to use my DVD RW today, it didnt work. I did try the DVD RW on different computers, but none of them allow my DVD RW to work, and they should have been able to allow it to work. so something happened, i assume that it got corrupted for no reason. So All of my backed up files were deleted, and the DVD RW had to be formatted again. Yep, DVD RWs are stupid. i had a few bad experiences involving CD rw's and cd r's. Its such a hassle to use a cd/dvd rw.I totally beleive that i have used the DVD RW appropriately, and i am completely certain that i treated it well, and made sure that it didnt get scratched, or anything like that. I never ruined a cd or dvd before, except for this one time when i broke 3 CD rws in half because i couldnt get them to burn.

I made one big mistake, i didnt use a flash disk. Yep, Flash disks are faster, they work on any computer with usb, they are quiet, they respond quickly, they are portable, they are reliable, and there is no hassle involved with burning, or making compatible. So in these experiences, now i understand that DVD RWs are not good for backups. If you want to make backups, i reccommend flash disks.

[+] 2.0 Don't buy these
So far, the first six out of the spindle do not work. After hours of thinking that my DVD burner on my Imac was messed up, I tried another brand and no problem. These things are junk. Maybe they will work on a PC, but don't buy them for a MAC.

[+] 2.0 Usless media, unless you need coasters.
This media is totally useless. I bought 5 of the 50 disc spindles and WELL over half of them failed to burn properly. I actually thought my DVD writers were defective till I tried these discs in another computer and got the same results. I've used Memorex before and had no problems but I'll never buy them again. Save your money, time and nerves and buy a different brand.

[+] 4.0 Very Poor Quality Product
I have always regarded Memorex as a company that makes good quality products so when i needed to burn some movies to DVD i purchased 3 packs of these DVD-RW discs (enough to last me a lifetime i thought).I burned the videos to the discs and everything went smooth, not one error, then after i was done i popped them into my DVD player and....Stut stut stuttering video!Every single Memorex DVD-RW that i burned was full of skipping audio, stuttering video and also artifacts appearing on screen every minute or two.My first thought was that my DVD player was busted so i put the discs into my other player,SAME THING!Then i tried burning the movies with my other DVD Burner drive,AGAIN,video and audio was horrible!I even tried burning the videos with different software but no matter what i did the videos came out screwed up and unwatchable.I went through 2 packs of these Memorex DVD-RW discs and every single disc was defective.DO NOT BUY THESE!!!If you want good quality buy some TDK DVD-R discs,i have burned my videos to them and they play 100% perfectly.

[+] 2.0 Memorex DVD+RW disks used to be good
I have been using Memorex DVD+RW disks for a few years. Up until this particular version with the little stars on the disks I had good results.

These more recent disks might burn once or twice. After that, forget it!! Burn failures galore.

Use another brand.

[+] 2.0 NEVER by Memorex!
I bought a 25 pack of these disks and 6 of them (so far) have fatal errors on the discs. There is nothing so frustrating as to record a show on a disc than to find that the video stops/stutters and then completely freezes so that you can't view the rest of the content. I am going to go to Memorex support and I expect them to make this good with a refund or replacement. I hope they change their manufacturing processes so that their products are reliable or they will NEVER get a return customer and they will be the next business you will see filling chapter 7!

[+] 10.0 Works great
I brought 2 of these and when they were finished I ordered 2 more spindles. I am using a Sony Vaio laptop and in the past I owned a Toshiba laptop also and these burned with no problem. I might have came upon 1 defective disc out of 3 spindle. Quality is very good. I will buy again when I am finish with the ones I have.

[+] 4.0 Typical Memorex
I have owned a Memorex DVD player, which fell apart within one year, and I've had numerous problems with Memorex recordable DVDs. Based on my experiences I think the company should have a new advertising slogan;

I purchased two 25-packs because of lower prices and free shipment but it was a bad mistake. I had too many coasters from the 1st pack. I am about 50% with the 2nd pack which has been trouble-free so far.

After some research my next purchase will be Verbatim - based on positive customer feedback.

[+] 2.0 Bad Spindle AND Replacement Spindle Bad
I bought 2 25 pack spindles June '07. I use them for recording broadcast movies on one of several DVD recorders. One spindle was totally fine but the other had a 100% failure rate by the 3rd time any disk was recorded. (Disk unrecordable message or such depending on the recorder I used). I contacted Memorex and they sent me a replacement for the bad spindle. The replacement spindle now is also experiencing a 100% failure rate by the 4th or 5th time a disk is recorded. Instead of error messages the disk usually freezes somewhere near the middle during playback. I contacted Memorex again and they now refuse to make good on the bad replacements. Long story short.... buy Sony, Fuji or any good Japanese brand. I haven't had any trouble with Imation but I hear that they are now part of Memorex so I plan to avoid those in the future as well.

[+] 10.0 Great for my Windows Media Center recordings!
I got these rewritable DVDs in order to watch TV shows recorded on my computer. I'm new to the whole DVR realm and don't have everything connected in my house in order to send TV recordings from my computer to my preferred TV. Even though write-once blank DVDs are quite cheap, I couldn't bring myself to creating that much waste (I am not into "collecting" shows). These rewritable DVDs are perfect for watching a show once and then reusing them. Even better is removing the commercials on the computer before copying them to the DVD (DVRMSToolbox is clumsy for this, but I eventually got it to work). Commercial-free TV is the best!

[+] 8.0 As Expected
I bought these DVDs to store many of my own personal movies. The DVDs work as intended. I have yet to have a single one fail on me, but often one or two of the files becomes corrupted in the burn process. The thing that aggravates me most is that you only get 4.5 instead of 4.7 Gigabytes of actual space, and I often have to leave one file out a total set and put it onto a different DVD. Other than that, great product.

[+] 2.0 Must have a bad spindle
I have used Memorex DVD+RW disks before (purchased in a 10 pack) and they were reliable. However, this 25 pack has given me many problems; they have many write errors and won't erase correctly. Few, if any, are working as expected and thus I can't trust them for any backup work. MS Windows Live One Care won't accept them at all. I noticed that the disk id is different for these (different manufacturer) than the 10 packs I purchased several years ago.

[+] 10.0 Excellent discs that never give problems!
I HIGHLY RECOMMEND these to everyone who wants to burn anything onto DVD's. These are excellent. They burn and read without any problems, even months and years later, unlike typical write once discs. So, whether your backing up your computer, or burning a copy of a movie, these are the way to go. Seriously, if your DVD player doesn't support +RW's, go buy a modern DVD player and use these. That way you'll never have to go through the pain and problems of write-once DVD's. :)

[+] 4.0 Malfunctioned stock?
I ordered a 25 pack of these DVD+RWs and there seems to be a bad sector or something about 2/3 of the way through the DVD. I have tried to burn several different disks (including full erasing and reburning some of them multiple times), and any data past about the 3 GB mark (out of 4.7 GB) is corrupted and cannot be read. Needless to say, I was a little disappointed about this. The first 3 gigs works fine though...

[+] 4.0 Great idea, but poor performance
I assumed these DVD's would get longer recording time but they crapped out on me when i needed them most. A few of the DVD's were ruined and unusuable. The price was great and they will work fine for recording a sitcom or some funny snl skit (if there ever is one again) but i would not use them to record anything of length. They are very unreliable as they get near the max recording time. I would choose another DVD for your important recording.

The second disc in this package was faulty, which I did not discover until I spent two hours recording a movie. There was what appeared to be a half inch bare spot on the outer edge of the dvd+r. Not what I expected from Memorex which purports to be the best.
I have switched to Maxell.

[+] 10.0 DVD +R/RW
I have had excellent results transferring my VHS Tapes(movies, etc.)to Memorex DVD+R/RW discs. I have a Philips DVDR985 DVD Recorder/Player and it will only record on DVD+R/RW discs. I have been through several other manufacturers +R/RW discs and none were as reliable as Memorex(and, of course Philips). I ran into a problem recording on the +R disc, however, that was due to a problem with the Recorder. I just bought another 50 DVD+RW Memorex discs(2-25 disc spindles) and when they run out I will still go for Memorex.
