Microsoft wireless mouse -- not good at all
I bought this mouse to replace a wireless Logitech mouse which I broke. I've had the Microsoft mouse for about 3 weeks and just bought another Logitech to replace it. In fairness to Microsoft, I'm using this on a laptop running Linux, not Windows.
I plugged it in, Linux picked it up and all seemed fine. But the range is VERY poor, it frequently loses connectivity (even at a short distance from the receiver) and I needed to reset it on a regular basis. Frequently the cursor will track the mouse but the buttons don't respond. Frequently the motion sensor seems confused by my desktop (which is faux wood) and cursor tracking is a random event.
Overall, I've found this mouse to be worth disposing of -- not much more. My experience with Logitech has been much better.

Good Inexpensive Mouse
This mouse is practical for most laptops. The mouse is responsive and feels good in the hand. Its only shortcomings are the large size of the receiver and its rather short range. Beyond about five feet the button clicks become intermittent. This mouse is a great value and if used in the normal way most people should like this mouse.

MS Wireless Optical 3000 Mouse - Milk Chocolate
I bought 4 of these for the family and it really works well. I like the design and feel of it and the price was really great too. I had a concern because there was mention in some of the Amazon reviews that the battery drains really fast. I've used this mouse for 4 months now and I think the trick is that you have to always snap the USB connecter back on to the bottom of the mouse to turn off the sensor (red light)when not in use. The one con about it is that after snapping on the USB connector, it isn't flush w/ the bottom of the mouse which makes storing it awkward. That's really minor though. I posted some pictures for you to see.

Excellent Mouse - Great Battery Life
I use this every day and have replaced the battery once in the last four months. It was simple to setup and I haven't had any sync issues. No complaints.

No Harm - No Foul
I've had mine almost four years... not one problem including battery consumption.
It's comfortable to use for hours at a time, it's never been on a mouse pad, and the price is right.
I've even purchased a secound as a back-up for the eventual day when the only moving part, the scrole wheel, goes "Putzz". That should tell you why I would recomend this to anyone.
This is a great wireless mouse. I love that it uses a regular battery and I never have to plug it in to recharge. It installed in minutes and connects quickly every time I plug in the transmitter. I love that you can power it down by seating the transmitter directly into the mouse - this is a huge plus, in my opinion, as it does two things: saves battery life and keeps the transmitter and mouse together. It is a little smaller than a typical mouse, which took some getting used to.
This wireless laptop mouse is an excellent product for the money and I love the color--it goes so well with my black laptop so it's easy to find! I would definitely recommend this mouse to anyone thinking of a purchase. I am completely satisfied with its performance and it even comes with a battery so you can use it right out of the box.

Good mouse, poor battery life!
The mouse is very comfortable for average size hands, it's very reliable and precise on movements, but it consumes the battery life too fast. But overall is a good device.

Microsoft Optical Mouse 3000
We had a problem controlling the new notebook we got. After a 2 weeks of frustration (touch pad is too sensitive) we bought this mouse. I would recommend it to everyone!! Easy to use and no problems what so ever. It's a few months now and I am still using the same cheap battery.

very undependable
i wanted a wireless mouse for my laptop, but this is not the mouse for me. from the beginning, it gave me trouble, and finally (after only a few days) stopped working altogether. i ended up getting a logitech mini-mouse. it's not wireless, but that hasn't been an issue at all, and it's really easy to use, dependable, and comfortable. wish i had gotten that first!
This week my Microsoft mouse, which served me for two years, unceremoniously stopped talking to my computer. This is my eulogy.
PROS: Responsive, works out of the box. Comfortable. Cheap--as I write just $17 at Amazon. Takes one AA battery that will last for months.
CONS: The receiver is big and sensitive to bumps. The smallest bump means you need to reset the connection by pressing a tiny button under the mouse with the corner of your fingernail. After two years, it seems my receiver has somehow died completely.
This is a good buy for the price. There are a lot of choices out there, and if you're willing to invest a bit more I would recommend a mouse like Logitech V450 Nano Cordless Laser Mouse for Notebooks (Black) which has a tiny receiver that you plug into your laptop and forget about. Sweet.
This was my first cordless mouse and I am very content with this product. Just put the receiver in the computer and use it. Simple as that. As far as the packaging? I bought the one with the easy packaging because the other one cost about the same with the shipping. I got free shipping on this one.
Great product for the price. Sometimes it gets stuck, but overall I am a satisfied customer.
Good for the price. Thought it was smaller but it's ok, like it the way it is and combines with my notebook bag color "pink"

Broke in less than 2 months!
Got this mouse for my wife, to replace a wired one on her laptop. She loved it, while it worked. :( Got it in December 2009 and did not last to till the middle of February. Need to find out what the warranty was on this, and if I can get a refund or replacement. Not very happy.

good but loses signal easily
I really dont have alot of problems with this mouse besides the fact that if you barely bump the USB receiver, it loses signal and you have to remove the USB receiver and put it back in. It IS VERY picky on the surfaces it works on.
It takes less than 3 mins to assemble. very user friendly. Great product! Dont miss this one.
This replaced our battery-hungry previous mouse. Although we encounter range issues from over 6-7 feet (our pc is our 'tv') the battery life and value more than make up for it.
This is perfect. It has the perfect size, smooth and baterry life. If you want something for daily works, that's it.
Great mouse, great color. Works very well, and was one of the highest rated mice that I could find, for a reasonable price. Highly recommend.

Wireless Notebook Mouse Review
An excellent mouse but the USB receiver is as long as an 8GB flash drive. After I bought it, I discovered that there are wireless mice available with mini USB receivers that can remain plugged in even when storing a notebook (they are less than 1/2" long). Wish I'd known that sooner!
One very good feature is that the receiver snaps into the underside of the mouse for storage and turn the mouse off to prolong the life of the battery (AA cell).

Does the job well
I've had this mouse for a a little less than a year and a half now and it's worked perfectly ever since. The AA battery lasts for months and it's smooth like a mouse ought to be. Cheap too; it's nothing fancy but it works like a charm.
Only flaws might be that when I move around the laptop, sometimes the mouse will lose connection and I'll have to unplug/plug back in the USB connector; when I drop it, the battery casing flies off and so do the batteries.
I am using this mouse on a new DELL Precision 6400.
This mouse works by plugging in its antenna into a USB port (before logging is - 1st time only) and does not require a new driver. I purchased this mouse configuration over a Blue Tooth because it seemed to me to be easier to use - just plug the antenna into a USB port and go. I was told that the Blue Tooth mouse required to be configured every time you turned on the computer - this maybe very ease and convent also, but I am an Old Dog and the mechanical appealed to me.
Pro
I can't compare this mouse to a Blue Tooth mouse (as I have not used a Blue Tooth mouse) but I found this wireless mouse to be very convent and easy to use. A neat feature is that when you logoff, you can unplug the antenna and store it on the underside of the mouse, which also turns off the mouse laser - thus saving the battery.
Con
After using it for two months I found the laser to not turn on sometimes after I removed the antenna from the underside of the mouse. However by re-inserting the antenna and then removing it the laser and mouse turned. This may be caused by my battery getting low, but cannot say for sure as I have yet to replace the battery.
I hope this helps those looking at the mouse for the 1st time.
Good transaction - got what I rodered in timely fashion - works great. Would use vendor again

poor choice, but cute
I'm disappointed with this wireless mouse. It runs fine for about a month, that freezes up, which is not cleared up by rebooting or changing batteries. So very unreliable. I do enjoy when its working.

Amazingly portable mouse
I have enjoyed using this wireless mouse with a portable computer on a portable desk. It features smooth operation, and is a handy alternative to the built-in finger pad on the computer. You must re-insert the USB port stick (into the bottom of the mouse)to fully turn off the mouse and save the battery life. Too bad they did't use a simple switch to do that. Recommended. Great value.

MICROSOFT WIRELESS NOTEBOOK MOUSE
Decent price, although I am sure a percentage is INCLUDED for MR BILL GATES and the REDMOND conglomerate. Does the job, but if you are not going to use the MOUSE for a while, make sure to disconnect the battery...ALSO it DOES take up 1 of your precious USB ports

have not received the itrem
I can't review the item because I never receive it!!!!!!! I will rate it when and if I get it!
This is the least accurate mouse we own, and we own more than a handful. I was using this mouse on a broad armed leather chair. Every mouse I've ever used on the chair has performed very well. It's almost a perfect material for a mouse pad -- firm, not shiny, not rigid. Yes this mouse just tracks poorly. Also, the Logitech optical mouse we've bought has a more convenient storage device for the USB dongle. This one has to be pried off. The Logitech one just slides into a slot.

What you see is what you get...
I've had this for a couple of months now and although I don't use everyday, every time I use I love it! The color is great, if you like bright and colorful! The size is perfect for a medium size hand and really comfy. I don't give it 5 stars in response just yet because I'd like to try it for a little longer.
This product worked as advertised: it was easy plug-in and use. Pay attention to the angle between the mouse and the plug-in as failure to keep them aligned will result in losing control of the mouse. Just follow the directions really.

great mouse but does not hold up
I bought two of these mice about a year ago and really like the thing but both have failed after about a year. I have a third one I bought a few weeks ago and I hope it holds up longer than a year. I need to replace the second one that failed but I am not sure about getting another one of these.
This mouse is exactly what I wanted. Light, very easy to use, and cute. Very satisfied.

Cheap and Portable
It's cheap, it works well, and it's portable. I've always thought that Microsoft made some of the best mice and this is no exception. It's large enough to hold comfortably and has a solid feel.
Love it! Great price, great color (chocolate), great movement. Purchased this after my 3yr old broke my remote mouse that came with my Dell remote keyboard, this one works better than my old one. What more can I say?

Got it for the color, love the ease of use!
I needed a mouse because I do not like the mousepad on my snazzy laptop which is a lovely minty green. I liked this one because it is small and also green. It has passed my expectations in that it is simple to use, easy to take with me and makes my laptop experiences even better! The packaging was really smart and nothing got smashed!
The mouse works fine. It's design makes it as compact as possible; though there is some small gaps internally that could possibly be better utilized for a second battery. Overall, for general use it's perfect. My only complaint is its tracking. It has the tendency to occasionally float, which is not preferable when playing fast pace games. However, my complaint isn't a huge enough reason for me to call this a waste of money as it has proved to be a solid purchase.
My first wireless mouse is great! No problems at all. This is cool! The connection is good. iIt works as a mouse should. No disapointment here!
I purchased this mouse as a gift along with a laptop for my wife for Christmas, She loves it. It work right out of the box. No software to load, just plug and play. I would recommend this to anyone who would rather use a mouse than the laptop board. Great item !!!!!
I recieved a laptop and wanted a wireless optical mouse for it. I read the reviews on this, what made me really choose this one was the frustration free packaging - great. And it works well. Am very happy with it.

Great device, works well, only wish the device range was prominently stated.
Works great, nice feel, looks good. Nothing to complain about in terms of its use. The main drawback I have is the range is only 3 ft, something not stated where a buyer can easily see it w/o having to buy the product, open the packaging and find out about it in the manual. Most users won't need to go beyond 3 ft but I'd hooked up my PC to a TV and wanted the wireless mouse to work from where my couch is so this didn't do the trick and I had to learn it the hard way. Also wished they didn't use one of those hard-to-open plastic packaging that really wears on my scissors.

Microsoft Wireless Notebook Optical Mouse 3000
The mouse is reliable and it works great. The reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is that for a notebook mouse, I'd actually like it a bit smaller for better portability.
As it is I had to end up using it for my desktop. For a desktop I'd like it a little bigger. Other than that, it's excellent.

Stopped working - on/off switch problem
I have had this mouse for 2 years. From the start it has been reluctant to switch on. This won't bother you if a desktop user, but having a laptop, it has finally become intolerable for me. The on/off switch is located under the mouse; when transporting the laptop, you remove the USB dongle and slot it under the mouse for storage; this switches the mouse off. Unfortunately, when you remove the USB dongle from the mouse (placing the dongle into your laptop port) the mouse remains off. I have tried remedies such as replacing battery, warming the battery with body heat, warming the mouse, flicking the on/off switch. All work with varying degrees of success. This weekend has been the last straw as it has taken me 3 days of jiggling, till finally it came back to life.

OK but have blind spots
I have been using it for over a month, didnt find it as good as the wired mouse that i used to have.
It has blind spot.
I have a Dell Inspiron 700 laptop with USB ports on the left side of laptop, and i am right handed so i use the mouse to the right side of the laptop and its a blind spot, i cant get it to work properly. It literally doesnt work at times.
Now i have to either get rid of it or get a new usb extension to keep the mouse receiver on to the right side to avoid this blind spot.
Before buying consider this blind spot.
