i rarely use a GPS but when i go to California its a must, i had some problems with the screen it seems like the pressure sensor is off just a little.

Mio used to make quality devices
I had a very nice experience with a Mio GPS that I'd purchased about 5 years ago for about $150.
I found one at Radio Shack this last X-mas for about the same and bought 2 figuring it would be much improved - boy was I wrong!
1st of all - no spoken street names - alright I can live with that (My old Mio did that)
2nd - when you turn on your street it takes a good 10 seconds to update to the next turn - making you miss your turn usually -
and before the address comes up when you arrive at your destination street, it takes 20 seconds to display the address, so keep that handy (My old Mio updated promptly)
3rd - on a 1/2 mile trip, many times it will take you on a 20 mile detour. (My old Mio never did that)
If your not familiar with where you are, you'd be better off asking directions from a homeless woman.
Don't buy Mio unless you are stupid.
I purchased my Mio from Staples at the recommendation of the cashier (she owned one and loved it) about 1-1/2 years ago. I used it at first quite a bit; testing it out here and there, and it worked pretty well. I ended up sticking it under my driver's seat and leaving it there 4 the better part of a year because: 1) the charger wouldn't charge; 2) releasing it from the clip/suction holder was a PITA; and 3) the charger wouldn't charge. With no power, it's useless. I tried to get a replacement charger unit from Mio, 2 no avail. Their customer service is ridiculous and totally unacceptable. I have yet 2 d/l any updates, and may do that this evening just 2 see if anything's out there.
So now I'm checking out 'familiar' GPS units (so far I'm looking at a Garmin Nuvi) that at least more convenient customer service.
After purchase I signed up for assistance as I couldn't find some functions and help was good. About a year and a half after use and I liked it. The rubber button on the side became hard and broke away from the push turn on off control. I still love the unit and called to see if they would send me a new rubber that I could install. customer service informed me no I could not obtain a part and would have to send the unit in for repair and need to pay for the repair. How much was the question? $85.00 and I could buy a new one for little over hundred. I give them 1 star for product and -4 for service. I would buy again if the service was their. Additional Email resulted in no response. They don't have a phone so only way of contact was e mail or was I able to reach them with chat I can't remember. Good product awe full service.

After one year, it is still my favorite gps.
I bought it 1 year ago. After got it, I hacked it and install other GPS softwares.(The factory gps software is good but a little out of date.) Total I installed IGO, Garmin and tomtom. I only keep igo and garmin. I use igo almost everyday. Like this very much.
The GPS navigator is very reliable and easy for use.
I've bought the same model also to my parents.
Except the GPS ability, the device is also a nice PNA and allows easily to install other windows-based applications and games.
The lifetime of the battery is a little bit short, but most of the time it is plugged into car power adaptor.
Maps update process is fast and easy.
The device supply was fast and accurate (according to supplier commitment)

Good choice if there is no better.
The product is my first GPS, so I am a bit biased. However, I have to mention couple things that are good and several that are bad. First of all, it is a nice unit, attaches well in the car, and one should not have much problem running it. However, the one I bought did not do what it was supposed to do. It would not power up. I had to be creative and give it jump start otherwise it would finished as a refurb. I had no time to hassle with postal and stuff so I did the tech job myself. When it finally made to be used in the car, it would make me crazy: it woudl announce the important changes to late. So I would miss the ramp and then had to listen about "route recalculation". Or it would simply ignore important details at the complicated junctions so it would skip the fact I had to reach another lane and make turn... The "route recalculation" is also poorly written algorithm as it would always take me some weird routes, even when it was attempted to be tweaked in the route options. Then also it would miss on the house numbers and I would end up at the wrong side of the street. All in all, I am happy to have some help in the car, but it is unreliable and I can use it mostly to locate current position on the map. When it comes to managing direction (that is what GPS are suppose to do) this unit is a poor choice. I am considering selling this one and buying another brand.
My wife received this for Christmas 2007. She has never figured out how to use it and I use it occasionally. It's probably only been used 10 times and I find it's not worth the hassle. I would prefer to look at a paper map.
The battery only last about 2.5 hours. Even when I have it connected to my car charger, the battery runs out. The same thing happens in two cars so I think the issue is with the unit. I can't use this for trips more than 2.5 hours or else the thing will turn off due to low battery power and I can't turn it back on.
The suction thingy that secures the unit to the car frequently fails and the unit crashes on the dashboard or floor. There's a USB cable/charger that plugs in through the mounting bracket. To remove the unit from the bracket you have to unplug it first. It's kind a pain when you're trying to figure out why there's a constant warning message that the battery is low when it's plugged in.
Most of the time, the directions are correct but nowhere near optimal. Frequently, I've had it plot a course where I knew how to get there and the directions were very bad. It always chooses the path of shortest distance and doesn't take time into account. If you have a highway and a dirt road side by side and the dirt road is 0.1 miles less in distance, it will tell you to take the dirt road.
The maps are old and can't be updated without an unsupported hack. They have updated maps for newer units, but not for their older units.
I normally reserve 1 star for things that break or just don't work, but this thing is so annoyingly bad, even when working, that I have to give it 1 star. You can get a comparable Garmin or Tom Tom for about the same price. Why anyone would buy this at current prices is beyond me.

Mio C320 does the job
Mio 320 is a basic no-nonsense, inexpensive navigator. It does its job. The only missing feature is Text To speech, so it does not call out street names. It runs Microsoft mobile, so you can play with it.
Its a good GPS unit but the only thing that i wish it had is newer maps. It contains maps from 2006. So, for some addresses it does not find the destination at all.

excellent product with a good price
I bought this product after I got recommendation from my friends
and they weren't laying. its a simple to use GPS with all the functions you need and you can find with a very good price.
Love this product. It's easy to use and the features are really neat. I feel like it has more than other GPS's for the same value.
Don't buy a Mio! Their products are good enough but they promised a map update in early 2009. They postponed once or twice and then finally released it this past week. It won't load on my device so I'm stuck with old maps. They have customer service - as they call it - and if you send them an email with an inquiry they send an automated response that says they'll be in touch with you within 24 hours. They don't get in touch with you at all! Without the update their GPS units will become more and more useless. Don't say I didn't warn you.
Unfortunately the reason I am buying this product is because my 1st one was stolen out of my vehicle while parked outside of my apartment. I loved it so much that I decided to get the exact model to replace it. For me, it's very easy to understand its navigation (especially after you play with it a few times.) For others who are used to a Garmin, it can be a little confusing. I think it's set up better than a Garmin because in one screen you can see what your next 4 moves will be and be able to plan. I have been living in big cities for the past year and with so much high way/interchanges traffic that is definitely necessary. You can also enter GPS coordinates, which is great for hiking for finding specific places in national parks.
It's biggest downfall is that it doesn't tell you which streets to look for in it's commands, so you have to pay attention to the screen.
Loved it the first time, love it the second time!
I love this customizable unit. It grabs GPS signal quick & brings me where I want to go. I really didn't want to spend a lot and this was an awesome deal for what the unit is capable of doing.

good product for the price
I love the way the map turns with you. Doesn't hold a charge very long, but if you use it in the car it doesn't matter.

My O' My....What a great buy
The beauty of this GPS unit is that it runs on Windows CE. As such, it can be unlocked to function much like a portable computer. Out of the box, its worth $100. If properly researched and tinkered with, this GPS unit is far superior to anything on the market. Why you ask? Let's see; do you like watching movies? Do you like listening to music? Do you like playing games? Do you like using it as a word processor? I can go on, the list is endless. Did I mention that 2009 North American maps are coming out soon? Ladies and gentlemen, I rest my case.

good enough value for the money
i've been ok with this product so far.
it's pretty accurate and recalculates routes fast enough for me.
i particularly like the 3d view.
i hear that the maps are old but i'm yet to experience the difference while driving (though i've only had it for a couple of months).
i spent less than a hundred bucks for mine so i wasn't expecting too much.
it would be nice if the makers included an ac adapter in the kit though.

Cheap, Good & Customizable . . .
I bought this after doing a lot of research online. It's probably not the best out there, but it may be the best 'bang for your buck' device out there. Buy the c320, a 4 or 8GB Mini SDHC card, and find MioPocket online.
I don't think the MioMaps are all that bad really. I live in an area where we don't get high priority on such things. (We just got Google Streetview 6 months ago!) Can't attest to the battery life, as I haven't left in unplugged all that long. Only about 2 hours total, and it still 'showed' ~1/2 power.
Only real criticism is it is a little big and bulky. Not smooth and shiny like the new devices out there. But hey, it's a 4.3" screen.
Mio C320 GPS is great, would not leave home with out it. Easy to use,and everyone should have one.

An ok GPS not great.
Going to keep this short and simple. This GPS gets you to where you're trying to go, but some locations are unknown to the unit. So it may not always be able to get you to your exact destination. The unit is loud on the highest volume so I have no problem hearing it above "car noise" My biggest gripe with this GPS is it only allows you to use it on the DC adapter or battery. If you plug it into the AC adapter (not included) or USB cable (not included with mine) it goes straight into USB mode and doesn't allow you to use it. So if you wanted to plug it in and set a bunch of addresses before leaving home FORGET IT.

Beware: No AC adapter included
This GPS receiver does not include an AC adapter. So you must learn to use it in your car, with the unit attached via the accessory cable. That is the only way to charge the battery. Since you should have your car running so that you do not exhaust the battery, and with gas selling at $4.00 per gallon, this is a very expensive way to learn how to use this unit.
Mio will sell you an AC adapter via their e-store for $20 + $12 shipping. It should have been in the box when you bought the product.

Now I'm Very Let Down
As many other reviewers I purchased this on Black Friday at a great cost and put it in my truck. I had no problems, I'm in the military and use GPS devices long before sold to the public. We are getting ready to go to Italy and I wanted to take it along to go in the rental car and cannot find maps. I called tech support and was informed that they were not available but I could purchase a euro device when I got there. What a load of crap. The device is top notch as long as you stay in the U.S.

Pretty nice system
I just bought it today and the product works great. I updated the system and added TTS into it and unlock it with several programs. It just like a pocketpc...working great...love MIO...But one thing that i seem be annoyed with this c320 is the time/date...it seems to be a delay on adjusting the time/date when you are using MioMaps...it always go back to default when you shut down the MIO...
But overall it works great...love my new GPS and love how it allows you to load windows operating system into it...
Now i can watch video, view MS word, Excel, and PDF with this little handy-system...
