Bought as an extra for Mario Kart. Really adds to the gameplay experience. Bought one for my 28 year old son and one my 8 year old grandsons. Can't beat any of them.

I bought 2 steering wheels for my son's game Mario Cart Wii. He said it was too hard to use. He started using the controller in his left hand (to control speed) and the nunchuk in his right for the motion etc...I'm like that's crazy..how hard can a steering wheel be?
well..I found it to be too hard to steer. Its very touch sensitive and not as easy as I thought. I have since bought another nunchuk and the 2 wheels are packed away. Oh Well!

It's so much easier to just use the other devices. Or if the wheel had support on the bottom.

Really if you have Mario Cart and you don't have the wheel you are missing out on complete and enjoyable fun. You know you have always laughed at your friend that looked so stupid leaning the controller when he was turning on the original N64 now who's laughing. I love it it makes it funner for everyone! BYE THEM.

THe WII wheel is a great accessory to have to make playing Mariocart more arcade-like and interactive. I love it!

We love our wheels, especially for Mario Cart. It is the same wheel that comes with the Mario Game Package deal. It is simple to insert your controller and very sturdy. Amazon is the best to offer it for only 10 bucks! Don't pass it up. FUN!

Purchased for my daughter, found that the game is great fun for all of us. Especially fun with a second wheel so you can "team race"

The item itself is fairly simple, and hard to complain about. Some people prefer MK Wii without the wheel, but this is easy to determine by playing with the wheel included with the game.

If you're buying this extra wheel, I assume you already know what you're in for. You snap in the Wii remote, and... that's about it. It works just fine and as you'd expect.

Really the bonus here is the price, which is lower than you'll find it in most stores.

The official wii wheel has that nice window so that you do not have to take the controller out to point at things, the other wheels we have you need to take out the darn controller to point select.

I bought this for my nephew so he could invite his friends over to play. Super Mario Cart is the best game for Nintendo Wii.

La sensacion es completamente nueva para cualquiera...pero no se si es que no se controlarlo pero es muy dificil de controlar...es mejor, mas clasico y mas sencillo usar el nunchuk+wiimote...sin embargo el volante mio vino con el juego y por eso se puede decir que no...perdi el dinero...ademas que compre el juego en 49.99$ en preventa por amazon :P...pero no sabia que se agotaria en amazon asi como el wii fit y el mismo wii..

Would recommend using Official Nintendo Wii Wheel for the these types of games. Have used other 3rd party wheels and I have to say Nintendo has it right with this one.

I am tired of all the Wii Wheel haters. Mario Kart is way more fun with the wheel. It is what sets the game apart from Double Dash, etc. I just bought a second wheel and I am looking forward to trying out some split screen racing.

Wii is the perfect device to share time and fun with the family and friends. It is not a common console, it is more than that. Keep in mind that I'm 46 yers old and I belong to another generation, and this invention for me is great!! Try to test it and enjoy!

The Wii Wheel is well made, solid, and attractive.

As far as its usefulness is concerned, that's completely up to the buyer. My girlfriend prefers the wheel hands down when playing Mario Kart. Personally, I find the wiimote/nunchuck combo to be the best for me.

Since that's up to personal preference, there's no reason to include it in my rating. So the product gets 5 stars for what it is -- a well-designed, well-finished product with good ergonomics.

My grandson loves the extra wheel and it is a lot better than what came with the game.

My family has enjoyed the Wii racing games. The Nintendo wheel makes them seem very realistic. I consider them an essential part of the game system. If you have a Wii and don't have a racing game, get one as soon as you can and be sure to get the wheel.

The new way to drive Mario cart is great even though the game could use a little tweaking. The small size of the wheel makes it easy to hold up and steer smoothly without over correction. Takes a little getting used to but better than connected units.

The Wii Wheel makes playing racing games (like "Mario Kart") much more enjoyable and easy to master. The Wheel feels very solid and provide a touch of realism that improves control.

The additional Wheels are not that expensive, so if you will be playing multi-player you should consider getting an additional one to keep the race "fair" :-)

If you're used to driving a real gas burning vehicle, this will increase you enjoyment of WII driving games ten fold. If you've already mastered driving sims using the classic Nintendo controllers, you'll probably do fine without it.

I've only given 4 out of 5 starts for the overall rating because it's just a piece of plastic, molded like steering wheel. You could probably make something similar for less $ with an old frisbee or pie plate.

If you have more than one Wii controller and more than one person playing Mario Kart, consider the Wii Wheel. While it is not an absolutely essential accessory for playing the game it will improve the gaming environment for all present. :) The Wii Wheel is not that expensive and it will eliminate the fuss over which child gets to play with a real steering wheel. I find I cannot get used to steering with a rectangular block held in my hands, it's just not natural!

I previously mastered Mario Kart:Double Dash for Gamecube and felt though Mario Kart:Wii would be just easy and fun. It's not easy. Drifting is more essential and the Wii wheel takes getting used to. It was really frustrating, but now I really enjoy the game. I especially enjoy the incorporation of 'classic' mario kart race tracks.

Got this extra wheel so we could race each other and it turned out to be a good decision. Mario Kart is a blast, a must have if you own the Wii.

What's there to say, its the exact same wheel that comes with the game. Can you play MarioKart without the wheel? Yes. So why buy another wheel? It makes the whole experience a little more enjoyable and easier. Can you imagine trying to drive your car with a bar instead of a wheel? It also makes the trigger button more accessible, which is a big plus on multiplayer and 150cc. There is nothing to plug into the controller, it just sits/squeezes into place.

Just got a used Nintendo brand Wii Wheel for 7.99 at Game stop. It is just a piece of plastic so there really is no need to worry about it not working. It's selling for 14.99 at Target and 9.99 + shipping on Amazon. So if you want to save a few bucks and aren't planning on buying something else on Amazon to get the free shipping, call a local game stop or EB games and see if they have it used! As for the wheel itself, all I will say is that you should definitely use it since it's what makes the game more unique from other versions of Kart. As a gamer, I am more comfortable with the nunchuck, but I like the wheel because it is a more authentic Wii experience.

I am almost 40 and my husband is even older and we can't put this game down. We have given up TV shows to play this instead. Highly reccomend the game and the wheel.

I never played the original, but the Wii version of the Mario Kart game is a total hoot!!! The Wii wheel adds a lot to the enjoyment of the game and at such a low cost, you should get one for each ADDITIONAL controller (handset) you own. Remember, one wheel comes with the game itself, so you don't have to buy one for that if it's the only controller you own. The controller fits very snugly into the wheel and enhances the feel of the game.

What a great addition for Mario Kart. The wheel is made of a very durable plastic (ours have already been thrown around) and adds another element to the game that you can't get from just holding the Wiimote. I could not go back to a Gcube controller now.

Would buy again but I have 4 now and doubt i'll ever have to replace them.

you need two Wii wheels to have a chance against your Mario Karting 10 year old. good wheel. just like real driving ;-)

using the wheel is great! my 5 y.o. loves it! the wheel is much more responsive than using the remote/nunchuk. i think it's easier to use the wheel to do tricks, too.

The wheel is such a good addition to the game. It makes it so realistic. I recommend it to anyone thinking about buying Mario Kart.

The wheel makes controlling the characters somewhat easier but I prefer to use the Gamecube controllers because they seem to make the characters respond better.

Ok it's plastic shaped like a steering wheel. However it's great for allowing multiple players to a game. Beats hearing the kids fight over 1 wheel!

I bought an extra Mario Kart wheel so that we could play head to head in my family. Mario Kart is fun for all ages - even for a Mom like me. I recommend the game and the wheel - just plain clean fun!!

The wheel is a definite must. Without it you are playing Mario Kart just like you would on an older platform. The wheel makes it feel like real driving.

My son (who is 5) and I love to play this game. We can spend hours with all the different tracks, characters and vehices. Very fun game for the whole family!

If you rarely play video games, the Wii Wheel will certainly make it easier for you to drive your vehicle in Mario Kart Wii without having to learn a new, abstract control scheme. The controller, however, responds very slowly this way and you'll have a hard time keeping up if you play against people who steer using an analog stick. The wheel is fun for a bit but running into walls and losing lots of races quickly becomes frustrating.

This is the only one that won't scratch up the sensor when you put the remote in it!

With 4 players all holding their Wii wheels playing Mario Cart at the same time is just plain fun and laughs. The little wheels do add something and work well. They seem to be a bit better than the third party wheels.
