Lasted a good 5 years
Good: High capacity, three tubes, easy to fill, comes with metal pole, or can be hung, metal rodent-proofing around feeding holes.
Bad: Yes, it's mostly plastic and will get brittle/cracked/worn/chewed over several years and generally look like it's seen a few wars. Some small aspects of design lacking (mostly where bottom tray attaches to tubes).
Details: Not sure if I should bother with a review since Amazon currently has this item unavailable with no ETA for return, but what the heck...
Biggest problem early on was how bottom tray clips to feeder tubes. There are two clips that snap into holes in the bottom of each tube. The clips tend to get bent so that they no longer hold. My solution was to snap everything in place, then jam some curved metal bits (badminton pole sawed into 2" sections and expanded to fit snug) in the holes under each tube to hold the tray clips in place. Never had another problem with it after that -- until recently.
Now some five years after purchase, the silver plastic has gotten so thin and brittle from sun/weather and critter traffic that there's a big hole in the top cover and the bottom tray has broken off. This all happened within about a week, and it's now pretty much unusable. That lifespan is pretty respectable though, and I like the high capacity and ease of filling, so I'm pondering getting another just like it. (Hey, I already have the curved metal bits!)
I expect your general experience will relate directly to how aggressive your local woodland critters are. I often have three squirrels dining with one or two more waiting nearby. Then at night there's a couple of raccoons that pay a visit. They managed to break a small section out of the bottom tray about a year ago, but otherwise no damage. Oh yeah, there's some bird traffic as well. :-) Obviously I'm not trying to avoid feeding non-bird critters. I have two tubes always filled with black oil sunflower seed and one with mixed seed. The squirrels and raccoons go after the sunflower seed. But I've seen that if I let the sunflower seed run out, things get real messy as they pull out lots of mixed seed just to get at the few sunflower seeds it contains.
So if you don't mind (or are otherwise resigned to) feeding the furry critters as well as the feathered ones, I'd suggest loading at least one tube with sunflower, just to keep the mess, possible feeder damage and wasted seed to a minimum. If you don't want to feed squirrels, etc., then a squirrel baffle may possibly work. Otherwise find yourself a decent squirrel-proof feeder, you cold, heartless SOB! (kidding)
Probably the big reason I don't mind feeding whatever happens along is that it's mostly about entertainment for our two indoor cats, who watch the feeder on the back deck through the sliding glass door.
So if I can't find a new one of these feeders, I'm not certain what I'll end up with. However, I think having more than one tube is a must, high capacity is important and in my case, it needs to be a pole mounted feeder.
Hope that helps somebody!

Poor quality - breaks easy.
At first glance, this is a nice big feeder with the ability to put 3 different types of seeds in it to feed different types of birds. The birds loved it! But, within 1 week of owning it, the lawnmower knicked it and the pole buckled and the entire thing fell to the ground. I was able to straighten the pole and put it back up (at a crooked angle). Our lawn man knicked it again and this time, when it fell, it broke into many pieces. I had to throw it all away. The lawn guy didn't hit it hard either time. The pole is made very cheaply and will not withstand any time of damage. The feeder itself is cheap plastic and will crack if dropped.
For the amount of money this costs, you would think you would receive a better made product. I was very disappointed.
Had it for about 6 months now without problems. The large storage compartment is the best feature, allowing for longer time between refills. I've managed to keep the squirrels out adding my own baffle underneath and using the pole mount. The over sized top cover does a pretty good job keeping the seed dry.

Excellent Birdfeeder
This is a great birdfeeder. it draws all kinds of birds and holds enough seed that we don't have to fill it too often. The included pole is very nice and offers the option of placing the feeder out in the yard instead of just hanging it. it is sturdy and squirreles have not been able to destroy it. We did add a squirrel guard to the pole.

Squirrels got a good laugh
If you don't have any squirrels at your feeder then this is probably a good buy. The poles are a bit loose when you push them together, not real snug. The plastic feeding tube covers get stuck, those the squirrels have not eaten them off that is. I seen a squirrel sitting on the top cover that is supposed to keep them off the feeder. They easily climb up the metal poles that are included.

Create a woodland jamboree in your own back yard
The triple tube feeder holds A LOT of seed. Even better, you can mix up the varieties of seed that you put into it to attract different types of birds. Adding seed in is as easy as unscrewing the top and pouring the seed into the tube(s). If using thistle, the spouts can be turned down so that only birds with very tiny beaks can pull that out.
It took about one day for the birds to notice the feeder in our yard. Once we found a blend of seed that didn't attract Grackles only, we enjoyed a nice mix of Robins, Cardinals and Bluebirds in our backyard. We had to pick up the squirrel guard to keep the four-legged monsters out of the trays, but that worked great, and now they just sit underneath it and wait for seed to fall.
This winter, however, I don't know if a deer got into it or if someone was just being a jerk, but I went outside to find the bottom piece of plastic shattered in 3 pieces on the lawn. I emailed the address on opususa's website, but that bounced back after a few days as a nonexistent address. I called up the 1-800 number listed on the site, spoke to a real live person, and they mailed me a replacement right away, no questions asked. The bird feeder is back in operation, which is good, because I'd hate to have a $40 feeder go to waste just because of a single broken piece of plastic.

Best Bird Feeder
We pay $200 per year on bird seed so we have been through many feeders until this style. Now we have three of them on our property. Large capacity and very well built. Worth the money. The silver one comes with a pole and if you order the copper style it does not. Highly recommended.

Good for the birds
This is the same type of feeder I had before. The birds love it. So do the squirrels (which is ok). The only thing I don't like about it is it is not easily cleanable. However, someone suggested that I just dump the entire thing in a bucket and clean it that way. Sounds like a plan. I have not found another one that I would like better.
This birdfeeder was not built with quality materials. The feeder is all plastic and the squirrels & birds destroyed the feeder within 3 months. I had to tape most of the holes to keep the feed in because the plastic caps broke off then the bottom of the feeder cracked and fell off. I would not recommend buying this feeder.

Plastic and Broken
Don't be fooled this is all soft plastic except for the feeder hole plates. I received this feeder already missing one of the prongs that attached the tubes to the bottom tray. (appeared to be broken off and returned, then resent to me as a new product!) Squirrels and chipmunks chewed threw the dome plastic, and the bottom tray finally just fell off.

Great feeder, great gift
I purchased the Opus 5103 as a gift for my elderly mother; we mounted it using the pole that is provided with the feeder. Loading seed is easy and due to the large capacity not something that needs to be done very often. It took the birds, including a pair of nesting Cardinals, about one month to become comfortable with it before they began to feed regularly.

A Fabulous Bird Feeder & A Deal Here At Amazon!
I didn't want a bird feeder this big. I wanted something smaller to hang next to my window feeders. But this was only $35 here at Amazon, and I had a $25 gift certificate, so I couldn't pass it up. I'm glad, too, because it is a wonderful bird feeder. The ports with perches please the house finches and other small birds to no end. And the larger birds, like the doves, can eat out of the bottom ports with no perches. The bottom tray can also be filled with a lot of seed, if desired.
The feeder has flip windows on all the ports, too, which can be closed when using very small seeds, like thistle and wild finch mixes. You can also close the windows when filling the feeder, to keep the seed from coming out. You can close the windows to keep the bigger birds from eating out of the bottom ports, too...if you're mean :) Heck, you can even close them on rainy nights to keep the seed from getting wet. But you better be an early riser and open them in the morning, because the birds will be waiting for their seed. Believe me.
I'm not using the post, so have no opinion on that. And any squirrels who can make it to this second story feeder are welcome to eat all they want. And while I see how they could chew up the flip windows, I don't see how they could damage the ports themselves, since they are surrounded by metal.
I've had no trouble with rain soaking the seed, but then we've had so little since I got the feeder. I doubt the seed in the tubes would ever be there long enough to sprout, though. At least not at my place. It does look like the seed goes below the ports far enough to keep the birds from eating all the seed in each tube, but I haven't investigated that yet, since, as I said, we've had little rain.
It's a great feeder...weights a ton when you fill it full...but you won't have to fill it every day, since it does hold so much seed. And you can, of course, put a different seed in each tube.
What fun! :)
UPDATE: I wrote the above a month ago. The feeder fell to the ground last week...a 15' drop...and broke to pieces. Only the baffle and one tube survived the fall. Oh well...it did take a ton of seed to keep it filled.

PERFECT FEEDER ALL YOU NEED
I wish there was some way I could send photo's with this review.
When this arrived, free shipping I might add, it was very simple to put together. I had my feeder together within minutes and filled ready to go.
The 7' pole included is awesome. Perfect height to re-fill feeder. SUGGESTION..The pole directions say to dig a hole 12".
I found using a rubber mallot to bang the pole in was so much easier and gave me a tight, secure fit for the rest of the pole I attached to them for my height. This doesnt ruin your lawn by digging up grass or planted areas.
Once the feeder was mounted to the pole, I sat back and watched all my little friends check out the new addition to their yard.
I have living in my trees 2 beautiful Cardinals male and female who really took a fast liking to their new feeder.
So far so good, and I am keeping my fingers crossed, NO SQUIRRELS YET.
So if you are thinking about a feeder that is as simple as boiling water, this is it.
Again, I wish I could submit photo's to show the beauty of this feeder in action.
Good luck!

Holds allot of bird feed so you dont have to fill it very often. You have a choice of many different types of bird feed you can use. My birds love it I would recomment this feeder that is serious about feeding birds.
i have had this product for several years. It holds a lot but the squirrels love it. They stand on the feed tray to eat or hang down from the shield. Opus is very good in that they will replace any part of the feeder that breaks. Just go to opususa.com and tell them what you need. They charge only a small shipping charge.

3 Years old and still working as good as new
Very pleased with this feeder.
Can hang or mount with supplied sectioned pole with base-prong support that goes into the ground. Has 3 tubes to feed different types of seed. Metal surrounding tubes at feeding ports help prevent chewing damage by squirrels if they do get on it. The good size top dome baffle which helps keep the rain off & the squirrels have not jump on it to get to the seed. Pole mounted I have added a tube baffle so squirrels cannot get to the seed tray. So I have not had any rodent damage to it.
Pole is in sections. So long (tall) I had to take out one section so I could reach the feeder easily to fill from the top without having to take the poles apart which sometimes were very tight and hard to separate.
Feeder comes apart to clean tubes easily...putting back together is not too difficult unless arthritis or manual dexterity is not the greatest.
I would buy this feeder again. I have recommended this one to several of my pet sitting clients who love the birds.
Recomendation: If mounting on the pole, get a baffle for the pole. The ~15-18 inch or so long tube baffle is not too unattractive and it will prevent the squirrels from climbing up to get to the seed. (Not sure if the short Audubon 6" long tube baffles are sufficient).

Hours of viewing pleasure!
I recently ordered this birdfeeder for myself and enjoyed it so much, I placed a second order for my sister so she could also enjoy the sight and sounds of the birds. I have had hours of joy watching chickadees, goldfinches, house finches, purple finches, titmice, cardinals, sparrows, mourning doves and even a few pigeons who have tried to figure out how to land on the tray. It does my heart good to listen to their beautiful songs and see the juveniles flap their wings hoping for a parent to feed them. It holds enough food that I don't have to go out every day and refill the feeder which is a plus for me. I put black oil sunflower seeds in two of the tubes and niger thistle in the third tube. It is easy to fill and easy to install. You will love it!
The birds love this feeder. I have to fill it several times during the week. It would be nice if it came with a squirrel guard though.

great size, not durable enough
I loved the size of this feeder since it held enough feed to last for about 5 days. However, like another writer, disliked the vulnerability to squirrels. Rather than be discouraged by the hood, they hung by their back toes from the ring on top, stretched down to the edge of the hood, chewed it back, dropped down to the perches, pulled them out and spilled all the seed. It took the squirrels all winter to destroy this feeder (which, by the way, they reached by dropping from 18 feet above it), but they did it. I was hoping for more.
