Perfect Panasonic!
Lets face it...we have all been there, the power goes out from a storm and now your cordless phone is of no use to anyone.... Every home needs to have a back up corded phone, even if it's tucked away on the night stand for that occasional use from the power failure or the cordless has a dead battery or your kids hid the phone in the toy chest. The great thing about panasonic products is that it doesn't take a brain surgeon to use them, this product holds true to that. The quality and design is sleek and modern and you get more bang for your buck with the built in answering machine. Most people today have voice mail through their phone company or cable provider, however, it's nice to have the back up if you want it, easy to just shut the machine off if you don't want to use it. Some other reviewers note a cheap feel to the buttons, I have used panasonic products for more than 25years and don't find this to be the case at all. You will like this phones sleek design and functionality. If you are in the market for a spare house phone, this is the one!

Serves the purpose
This telephone replaces an old AT&T model and was selected because my cordless phones are all Panasonic and have served me well. I found in my research that no one is entirely satisfied with any of the phones currently offered, as evidenced by the reviews all over the map on each of them. So my choice was hit or miss. After one month, I can say that this phone adequately serves my purpose (a corded back-up to my cordless lines since we have occasional power outages and the possibility of an extended outage due to hurricanes). I understand what is meant by the dial being slow. The obvious remedy is to be a little more deliberate and slow as you dial instead of lightning fast and overwhelming the phone (it's a small adjustment anyone can make). Otherwise, I am completely satisfied. I have not used the answering machine yet (my other phone supplies the message center). Panasonic has been most reliable to me in their phones. Amazon is my favorite online shopping source and has never disappointed me. Thank you.
I purchased this phone to replace an ancient one at work, along with one of the first digital recorders ever made. I now have a lot more room on my desk as this takes the place of 3 separate machines. I am very happy with this product, easy to set up, easy to use. It doesn't have a back-up battery so after powerfailure is more work, but am overall very pleased.
Did a lot of research and settled on this phone. Not many options in my community so having options online makes a HUGE difference! Many other folks reviewed and had great things to say about Panasonic items. Hubby even likes it!!
ASIN:Panasonic KX-TS620W: This telephonse is working satisfactorily. The viewing screen is too small and the color makes it hard to read. To utilize the screen, one must pick up the entire phone and move it closer to one's eyes under an especially bright lamp. Though my wife has a hearing deficit, the volume control is adequate.

Corded Phone and Answering Machine.
This digital answering machine, speaker phone is pricey for a one line phone. The phone and answering machine work fine and the sound quality is very good. BUT! I'm disappointed that the LED Display is practically unreadable and should light up so you can see the time or information. Also, there is no battery back-up in case of a power outage.
The value just isn't there, for the amount of money paid, or a high recommendation.

A few problems you should know about before buying
Overall I'm disappointed in this unit. The main reason is that the touch-tone keys have a delay between when you press them and when they make their sound. No telephone should act like that.
The other major thing to be warned about is that while the LCD is legible when the phone is placed on a table-top, it's not good when the phone is wall mounted. When wall-mounted, the LCD only has full readability if your eyes are below the phone. Normally on a wall, the phone would be below eye level, in which case the LCD isn't so good, and it only becomes legible when the room is brightly lit.
On the good side, the software user interface is very nicely done.
I will be relegating this unit to a location where it'll only be used as an answering machine, not as a telephone. For my main home answering machine / telephone, I've gotten a competing unit from AT&T, which is better as regards both of the issues mentioned above.
This phone is great. Love the phone book and have stored all of my most called numbers and then some. Love the fact that it is a safe phone and not like the cordless phones that most people use. Everyone should do research and find out about all of the negative reasons not to have cordless phones in your home.
Caller ID and answering machine work great. Lots of nice features.

Panasonic corded phone
The phone seems to be a good one but its main drawback is the visual message panel that is nearly impossible to read because it is so dim. It has levels of adjustment but even on the brightest setting it can hardly be read. So much for caller ID etc.

Until now I have always used stand-alone answering machines but all had voice problems, so I decided to try a phone with built-in answering system to see if that would help. This Panasonic model had the best reviews. Set-up was not difficult and all features work as stated. It is easy to use and I did get the improvement in sound quality I desired, especially well tested when picking up messages from a remote location, including 9 time zones away. Only two con's. 1) The lack of display back light that all mention. 2) The volume for listening to "live" screened/monitored calls is very low, but fine when played back. This is quite annoying and the Panasonic tech was unable to help.

Imagine the Possibilities
I'm astonished at all the positive reviews this "answering system":has received. The LED screen may just as well have been omitted; it's utterly unreadable. How, since the telephone has to be plugged in anyway, a light couldn't have been installed is beyond me. You'll also enjoy wading through the instruction manual, clearly written by a resident geek somewhere and terribly difficult to fathom. Worse yet, this seems to be the best phone option out there. Imagine that.
I purchased this phone to be used specifically as a wall phone. I found out after arrival that the backing did not fit my existing plate. I have been unable to find one locally and called panasonic to find that they have the plate but it is on back order and will take approximately 1 month plus 7 days for delivery.
I can only conclude that the design is flawed for U.S. use as a wall phone, I note that other phones can accomodate a convential wall plate hook-up

Good Phone, but...
This phone does everything you would expect it to. The answering machine is clear and easy to use. The phone book is simple, scroll to the person you want to call and just lift the receiver. The one drawback is there is no back light for the Caller ID. I have to leave a little flashlight by the phone to read the LCD display. Other than that little oversight, I highly recommend it.
I bought this phone for my 86 year old mother. Her tape based answering machine finally gave up the ghost. She had no trouble learning how to play back and erase messages. She does not have caller ID, so that feature is not used and she could care less to set the quick call buttons -- so they are a none issue. Good sound on playback. Ease of use. I am glad I purchased this phone.

Decent home office phone, with 1 serious flaw
This phone is missing just 1 feature to make it the perfect office phone for me: a light that indicates when I am on mute. I am on a lot of conference calls, and this phone works well with my plantronics MX10 amplified head set, but the display is hard to read and although it indicates (mute) I need to really concentrate to read the display. There is also an audible que when you turn mute on and off, but it is the same both times and after a while I just don't remember and need to check. Note that the audible tone is not transmitted to the others on the call, which is good.
As others have mentioned the display can be hard to read. I do not find the keys mushy, but perhaps that is because the phone keeps up with my dialing speed. I do find the keys to be well spaced for my normal sized hands.
I bought this phone a few weeks ago and really like it. It has all the features I was looking for. It's a good value.

A great product!
This is a telephone/answering machine that really does what the manufacturer says it will do. The volume of the speakerphone and the answering machine are loud, the instructions are clear (and wonderfully brief) and the telephone and the out going message are easy to setup and get operating.
Erasing and getting to old messages is a bit awkward, but so far i am able to do what I need to do.
Great value for the money.
the delay in the keypad input is slightly annoying, but is easily bypassed by punching in the number you are calling as fast as you like, then hit speakerphone button or pick up reciever and the phone dials for you
Its such a relief not to have to constantly press menu options on voicmail. With this phone, retrieving replaying and deleting messages is sofast and easy.

Corded Phones are the way to go
This phone has been working very well in our home. Voice is clear, messages are easy to retreive and listen to. After struggling with various cordless phones, all of them terrible and trying different ans. machine configurations with no luck, I was pleased to find a corded phone/answerer. I am very happy with this purchase

Primarily a desk phone
This telephone has attractive programmable features for those so inclined, and performs well, provided it's located fairly close to an electric outlet. If used in a home that has a DSL internet connection, you'll probably have to install a filter between the phone and the telephone jack. Relocating a segment from the back of the plastic body enables the phone to be wall mounted. This is not too easily done because of the long telephone line that must be packed into the interior of the bracket. The DSL filter will make the phone hang farther out from the wall as well. Panasonic tells me they do not sell a longer handset cord to replace the short cord which they supply, so if the phone is mounted on the wall you may have to buy an off-color aftermarket cord. As a wall mounted phone I should downrate it a bit because of these factors.

All the options with a couple flaws
I've owned Panasonic products for years and been very satisfied with the quality. This product performs well but overall quality seems to have dropped from the last Panasoic phones I've owned. The buttons have a softer feel and seem to register slower when pushed. Also, the display has no backlighting and is very difficult to see, even with the contrast set to the highest setting.
I needed to replace an older GE phone with built-in answering system and looked at several models in a large department store. I couldn't find any on display that looked as if they would last much longer than it took to remove them from the box. So I checked what had good reviews on Amazon, and bought this Panasonic model. I have used this phone for 2 weeks, and highly recommend it. The sound quality is excellent, the answering system is easy to set up and use, and I am quickly getting spoiled by the speakerphone option. I bought a 2nd Panasonic phone for the bedroom (without the answering system) and am very happy with the quality on that one as well.

Great Phone for the money
I really like this phone. The clarity is excellent. It has a lot of features that I really like. The memory phone books is just wonderful.
If I could change something it would be the headset. It is a little hard getting use to the smaller size but not an inconvenience.

Defective-Returned
I was initially pleased with the phone, except that the caller ID is not backlit so hard to read. Then I discovered that if a call was answered on another phone in the house, the person picking up this phone to join the conversation could not be heard. Did troubleshooting with Panasonic customer service and they determined phone was defective. Returned to Amazon for refund - chose a different phone.

Phone is nice but mic is poor
This phone is very good. Easy to setup and use. The only complaint is that the mic used for hands-free does not seem to be very good because people cannot seem to hear me when I talk through it when the phone is in speakerphone mode.
This phone met all my expectations. The sound is much better than any of my other phones and messages are very clear. No problems at all.
