Panasonic RP-HT21 Lightweight Headphones with XBS port for increased bass response

We're planning a 9 hour car trip and didn't want to listen to 2 different Leapsters the whole way there. These work great! I also bough an extension cord and splitter for the DVD player. Can't beat the price!

My son tears things up, so I wanted to get him some headphones that were decent but that if he ruined them in a few months, I wouldn't mind too terribly much. These were cheap! But all in all, they aren't bad!

He had no complaints about the sound quality (not that he really cares all that much), but he said sometimes they get a little static-y and he has to wiggle the cord.

For the cost of these, they are well worth it if you, like me, have a kiddo who tends to break things or not take great care of stuff and you want to test them out on a cheap item before you spend too much money. This is a good choice.

Sound quality not as good as expected, BUT the highs are more clear and less muddy than the ipod earbuds, bass is about the same as ipod's but can hit lower frequencies, and overall i prefer them over the ipod's. They dont fit as snug as i would like. The price is the real reason to buy these- i would never stuff my nice headphones in my backpack or go biking or snowboarding with them, which is what i use these are for.

First, I have to tell you I'm a critical music listener. I am very sensitive to bad sound. I cannot believe how good these headphones are.
They are better than headphones I have used costing 10 times as much
not only soundwise but also comfortwise. These are amazingly comfortable
and very light on my head. I cannot stand headphones that make me feel
like my head is in a vise. They also allow reasonable outside sounds to
come thru, like when the nurse calls me into the doctor's room. and you
can hear your stop when riding the bus.
Pros: Great bass, highs and a sweet natural sound. What more could you want? How about picking up sounds you never even heard before on your old
headphones. Great comfort. I'll probably hit the plastic band with a bit
of hairdryer to soften and bend the plastic to make them even a wee bit looser on my head (I said I'm very critical). Don't do this while its attached to your mp3 player. Price under $5.00 including shipping? They fit perfectly in the
little camera bag I carry my mp3 player in (the Sandisk Fuze 4gb player).
Also, the accessories I got for my Sandisk were amazingly cheap and included shipping.

Bottom line: Don't hesitate, buy these at once. You Might even want to order an extra pair at that price.

Used constantly since I bought them for privacy while on the laptop. Comfortable and sound quality is excellent.

Lots of bass for headphones this small and cheap. Sound better than ANY other headphones in this price range.

I have several brands of headphones including the excellent denon ah-1001,$130.but for every day use on all your radios,computers and other devices for about $5.00.the panasonic rp-ht21 headphones are an excellent choice with excellent sound.You cant go wrong when ordering these from amizon,I have several of these and will probably order more in the future.

I tried these because the Sony MDRA101 pair I've been using for years were losing sound.

I guess I've been spoiled by the Sonys... The Panasonics, although much cheaper, are not a substitute. They do deliver crystal clear sound and the bass is there but the problem is that the sound can be clear in a flat way. Prepare to have instrumental texture flattened out of your music into a sheet of generic pop. In this way, it's hard to actually feel the music and get led into it- you're always standing before a clear sheet, wanting to get to the other side.

Overall, these headphones are okay. They provide generic listener friendly sound but not intimately close, multi-textured sound.

I'd rather use the faded Sonys.

being a teenager, I go through headphones very quickly(up to a pair a month or less). Now, keep in mind, that I just got these, but I am shocked. The audio quality is AMAZING. These little things sound better than skullcandy, gummy, and the walmart version of gummy, the marshmallow. These things are amazing. Don't hesitate on buying these things, you will not be disappointed.

I will start by saying that I just received these. However, this is about the 10th set of headphones I have tried over the last couple of years. I've bought wired, wireless, brand name, off-brand, etc. And, by far, these are the best. The sound quality off a Sansa Fuze MP3 player is superb (and that player doesn't have much oomph).

I wanted something I could use on the elliptical that I wouldn't care if I ruined them after a period of time. Now, the catch will be, how long these last! As I'm getting older my hearing is getting worse and worse and I hope to use these for learning new languages.

Normally, one would say, "well, for the price, they're pretty good." Let me assure you. You could spend much more and get much less quality. If you have problems with ear-bud type headphones (which I do) you will love these!

Also, as they say, the proof is in the pudding. I've just placed an order for two more just in case they break sooner than I expect! This is where the price makes all the difference in the world.

My wife and I use headphones in a local gym while watching a TV mounted on the equipment. They are inexpensive and work fine for this application. I have not used them with a top notch stereo system.

The subject says it all. Headphones are light, nice and fit well on my head. I have no complaints.

I bought a dozen of these for my tutoring group, so each student could have their own. MUCH better than the ear buds for little ears. Sound quality okay - price great. We've been using them a month now and they seem to be holding up fine for daily use.

I loved these and I had only one problem: They were a bit too big for my head.
I don't have a smaller than average head so I couldn't figure out why they were made so big, lol.
The sound was extremely awesome and was well worth the price
(I would have willingly paid more if it weren't for the whole large size thing).
They are very comfortable too and I wear them every night while I wind down before going to sleep. Sometimes I even fall asleep in them.

Sounds OK. Very hard on the fit...not super comfortable...not very much cushion. OK for 4 bucks.

These headphones are light and comfortable. The sound is clear with descent bass tones. Clearly these were not intended to replace studio headphones. I use them as an alternative to ear buds because they are more comfortable and have a little better sound.

Read the reviews, so figured they'd be good. But wow. I'm amazed. And for $5? If these broke, and they were selling them for $25, I'd buy another set. May pick up a few extra's just in case. The base is more than adequate, they're snug, but not too tight on my head, and are great for running. Ear buds don't stay in my ears, at least the 4 different pair I have tried don't, so these are a great solution for me.

For $5, this has been an excellent purchase. The bass is very good and once you put the headphone on the right way, it is pretty comfortable. The length of the plug doesn't fit the iPhone 2g for those wondering.

Perfect! Great sound (nice bass tones!). How could you go wrong with a price like this? Easy to adjust, comfortable on the ear. Makes iPod music sound amazing compared to our old pair of headphones. Looks cheap and feels cheap. Awful sound quality but I expected this. The headphone lasted only two weeks. Don't bother with this one.

Beautiful sound....buy a few to have at work, home and in the car... great product for the price!

It's pretty unbelievable at first, but these inexpensive headphones really give you quite a bit of use for your money! They connect easily to MP3 players and similar devices; and the bass is awesome just as everyone says it is. Moreover, at this price you simply can't go wrong.

If you listen to a CD or MP3 player daily, I would recommend buying a few sets of these. They do go south eventually and you won't have to worry about waiting for another pair to ship.

These are also much, much better than earbud headphones; the earbuds always make my ears hurt! The over the head strap is fairly comfortable and that alone makes this a much better choice than the earbud type of headphones.

In addition, use these for young kids who may not be all that gentle with them. That way if they break or get lost you won't be out too much money.

I highly recommend these headphones; they may not be the very best out there (after all, they're not Sennheiser, Skull Candy hesh headphones or Skullcrushers) but the sound quality is really quite good and you can't beat the price. You won't be too upset if these break or get lost, either.

The bass is really what it says and more! it's powerful and accurate yet it doesn't overpower or sound too deep

I'd assumed they would not be good, but the reviews are right, these are totally decent headphones. I've been buying in the 20 dollar range and they always die after a couple months...so I figured "maybe headphones are going to die on me, and i should buy them as if they are disposable"

So I got these, which are lovely. And will probably die in 2 months (of regular use)

Amazing for the price! Not really sure yet about plugging into just any impedance; some equipment may not see the headset. Still great for the price!

This is basic headphone, a bit lacking on bass. But for the price under five quids, no complaints.

These function fairly well. I use it to listen to mp3's when I am at work, but I'm surprised at the description and some of the reviews which say this has enhanced bass response. In fact, I found the treble response to be good, and not the bass. I normally have the EQ settings for typical classic rock - a distended V, which should enhance the bass, but I didnt see the enhanced bass.

The other shortcoming was the length of the cord. I had to buy an extender so I could comfortably move around on my chair in my cube at work, when connected to the PC.

Anyway, I am happy with it, but the cost was doubled when I bought the extender.

Got mine in a day. The sound quality is absolutely fantastic. There are parts in my favorite songs I never got to hear clearly before, but this headphones make it possible.
Bought it from ELECTRONICSCLUB for only $4.49 with free shipping with amazon prime (almost $2.00 cheaper compared to the feature amazon price). This is definitely a steal.

For $6 I guess these work pretty well. Why wouldn't they? I saw the picture, which left me with the impression that the cord was long enough to use with my TV, and I looked at the specs on amazon and they didn't mention the cord length, which is stupid, 'cause it says on the back of the box under specs that the cord is 4.5 ft long.

They don't adjust down to my size. I don't think I have a small head either. Sound quality is acceptable. Not fabulous, but not bad at all.

Excellent set of headphones, especially considering the price. Have lasted well over the last two months under some hardy use.

I bought 6 pairs of these headphones, because I am constantly wearing out the headphones I use for my computer. I have ended up giving all but two of the pairs away to family members, and Have used the same headset for 9 months now. That is unheard for me, I usually pull at the cords too much and break wires, lose the stereo sound, etc... I would reccomend these to everyone. The sound is fantastic, I watch alot of TV and Movies on my computer and the quality is terrific. I barely hear any background noise. My only complaint is that I wish the cord was about 1 foot longer.

I bought these to replace an old pair of headphones for my portable cd player. These were very good and I am glad I found this deal on them at Amazon.

There's not much one can say about earphones that don't deliver a good (much less, a great) sound. I'd say: save your money and buy something a bit more expensive to plug INTO your ears. This is a waste of money.

Disappointed in L.A.

Nowhere does the description say that you MUST wear these over the head. My old headset, which looks very similar, could be worn from the back of the head/neck. This means that when I go out walking or anywhere else where I want to wear a hat, I cannot use this headset.

As for the "increased bass" -- I did an A-B comparison with my old headset and they sounded very similar in quality overall. If the RP-HT21 has more bass, my impression is that they simply attenuated the high frequencies (making the bass more predominant), as the maximum overall volume from the RP-HT21 is not as high as with my old headset. This means that in a noisy environment, you may not be able to be able to hear it.

Bottom line: for indoor use (no hats) in not overly noisy environments, this is a good headset, especially for the price.

Good headphones for the price, good sound for casual music listening and work decently for video conversations. They're not the most durable things in the world, or the most comfortable after five or six hours of continuous use, but they're cheap and work. If you move them around all the time (like when using a laptop), they will start to wear the cord down. But, in my experience that happens with all headphones if you're using them often, so best bet is to get something cheap like this and replace it as needed.

I needed a good pair of stereo headsets for my meditation tapes I use to go to sleep with and I needed a pair and for work to use with my laptop when I listen to music. I wear reading glasses at my desk and I don't like the earbuds and other over the ear headsets are very uncomfortable when I wear my glasses because they always fit too tightly. Also, I've found out that the earbuds are much worse for you hearing.

When I came across these I saw they had the same stats as others which cost 4 times as much so I bought two pair and I am glad I did. They are so comfortable and cheap enough that I will get 2 more pair. One to keep in my gym bag & a pair for my 8 year old nephew when he is playing games on the computer. I don't want him to use mine plus he can have his very own set he uses when he visits his Auntie.

Great deal and they sound pretty good to me and oh so comfortable.

I bought these for my mom to use with her Pure White Noise sleep cds. I needed headphones that were light and comfortable for her to use when sleeping and these work just fine. They sound great and price is right too!

Simply put, I love this thing. I got an iPod nano 3G a while back, and I really liked it, but I hated the headphones; a pair that came with a $10 off-brand CD player sounded much better, with better bass and overall clearer audio. However, this tops those by far. Old songs sounded completely new due to tiny details that my previous headphones hadn't been able to pick up. The audio is crystal clear and the bass is great. I also tested them with Resistance: Retribution on the PSP, and the sound clarity was amazing there, too; it greatly added to the immersion. Overall, I highly recommend these to anyone in need of new headphones.

These headphones are lightweight and a comfort to wear. Has a great bass response with my mp3 player at such a low cost...can't go wrong with these headphones.
