Perfect for my player!
I was surprised and very pleased when I received the case. I did not expect it to be made so well; for the price, it is an exceptional product. Although I have not used it in my car, it is perfect for my DVD player (Sony DVP-FX930 9-Inch Portable DVD Player, Black). I can put all my accessories in the pouch which is inside and behind the player compartment, the adjustable strap to hold the player keeps it in place and is easily removed, the case adequately protects the player if it falls over or is dropped a short distance (my dog knocked it off of my couch!), and it is small enough to store just about anywhere!
I've got a 10" Toshiba player and it's a tight fit in this case, but it does fit. It's hard to get to the volume and on/off on the sides of the unit, so I guess they should think of easier side access some how, but over all it's a pretty good case. We set it up hanging from the back of a seat instead of strung between two seats like in the picture and instructions. That works pretty well, though I don't think it was designed for it.
Nice thick case should protect the player pretty well. Looks kind of high end/stylish. I don't think you'd guess it's a portable DVD case if you saw it zipped up.
It's got a neat audio port splitter jack that comes out through the bottom (if hanging) of the case. You plug the attached plug into the player and it splits it outside the case for two head phones. (if you need that) We aren't using head phones yet and only have one kid, but may one day we may have her wear headphones.

very nice case for the $
i have been very happy with the portable dvd player case...everything about it is very functional and it has plenty of room to hold the player and all of the cords that come with it. it doesn't really have additional room to hold any dvds but thats okay since we just bring them in a small cd/dvd case. we set it up to go inbetween our seats (we have a honda accord)and it has worked very well for that and its very easy to put up and take down. i have been very happy with this purchase.

Comparison to WDEC-10
I know someone who has the WDEC-10 also from CaseLogic so I bought the PDVK-10 instead. The main differences are:
No headphone splitter in the PDVK-10
Two mounting positions for the PDVK-10 vs one
Different top strap and mounting
It was disappointing when I found out the PDVK-10 doesn't have the headphone wire/splitter that comes built-in with the PDVK-9 and WDEC-10. This is a very useful feature and helps when connecting/disconnecting it from the car. Too bad they decided to take it out.
The PDVK-10 has two mounting positions - vertical and L-shape. The WDEC-10 only has the L-shape. In order to use the vertical mounting position, the DVD player or netbook must be able to fold flat otherwise the angle of the screen might point down. I like the vertical position better because the screen is higher and you can adjust the angle of your player. The case comes with a skinny black strap that goes through either the top or bottom set of holes to secure the player/netbook. In the L-shape position, the strap may block part of the screen depending on how low the screen is near the hinge. The problem is if you move the strap lower, the whole player/netbook flops down because the top of screen is not supported. I think the case should come with 2 of these straps and ideally should be clear. I was thinking of using some string or fishing line to secure my netbook in the L-shaped position but I rather use my DVD player in the vertical position instead. The screen angle of the player in L-shaped position is not really adjustable but I thought of wedging a piece of foam between the back of the case and the back of the seats if necessary. There are two compartments in the case and you can actually put the player in the back compartment for vertical mounting if you don't mind taking it out to change the DVD and the controls being blocked.
The WDEC-10 uses 4 straps that hook to 4 rings on the case. The hooks on either side of the straps are plastic that you pinch to open. The PDVK-10 has one long strap for the top and two for the bottom. The top strap is designed to go over each of two headrests like a lasso and then tightened. The strap goes through a flap inside the case that uses velcro to make a long loop. I worry about the strength of the velcro but it does have a lot of surface area and you shouldn't have to undo the velcro once you have it set. When you dismount the case, you loosen the strap on both sides, take it over the headrests and stuff the strap into the case. I like this design over the WDEC-10. The bottom two straps are similar to the WDEC-10. Depending on your car, it can be hard to find a place to hook them. I have no desire to mount the case behind one seat but it should be possible.
This case is not perfect for a cheap solution but if you want perfect you can't be cheap.

Not exactly "grab 'n go", but does the job
Bought this for watching a Sony DVP-FX930/R 9-Inch Portable DVD Player, Red in the second row of our Honda Pilot.
The player fit nicely inside, though previous reviewers are correct - the design of the "security" strap probably doesn't work as well with this particular player as it does with others, since the strap does slip down in the crack between the swivel screen and the player body. But we found it was sufficiently stable if we 'snugged' the strap up as high as possible within the lower slots in the bag, and made sure it was tight.
Our kids never complained about it swaying back and forth, because we tightened the floor-mount straps and the suspension strap upon every install.
And the Grab 'n Go feature is a bit misleading. Sure, you just have to open the velcro strap at the top, disconnect the two floor straps, disconnect the headphones and DC adaptor cable, close the velcro strap, zip up the bag, and THEN go... And the hooks on the floor straps are unusually hard to open, so that slows things down, too.
One more thing: There's a decent amount of storage space in the bag, but don't plan on carrying more than 2 or 3 full-size DVD snapcases. We opted for a 'disc-only' wallet that housed 24 individual DVD's - and fit nicely into the bag, STILL with room for the cables and remote control.
So, did it work? Yes. Was it secure? Yes. Was it as easy as advertised? Not exactly... but I'd buy it again.

Doesn't hold player secure
Using this with a Sony player as pictured and the strap that holds the player does not work well. The strap is too thin and ends up sliding into the gap between the screen and bottom part of the player, so the only place it actually supports the player is the hinge area in the middle. This does not provide a secure hold, the player easily sways, and goes crooked in the case. Also, the wide strap that is supposed to go around the seat and clip to the case is not long enough. Even with the strap fully extended, it does not reach around the seat of a Toyota Highlander, (not an overly large seat).

Great Portable DVD Player Case
I have used this product for a month and it works great. The primary use is for hanging a 10" Portable DVD player from the back of one seat. The instructions do state that you need to suspend this DVD player in between the two front seats, but you actually can hang it behind one seat and do not need to suspend it. The only concern that I had with this carrier is that I keep the charger connected at all times and that causes the adapter wire to be bent and the fit is very tight which may cause some shorting, but haven't experienced any wire shorting. My charger is on the left side of the portable DVD unit and my unit is a 10" unit, so this may be the reason why it is a tight fit causing the cord to be bet so the player can actually fit into the carrier. If you have a 9" or a 10' with the charger outlet not located on the side then it should be a perfect fit. But besides this one minue detail, the case is wonderful. I have no complaints. I tried other carriers and none of them work with the larger sized (10") portable dvd players. Thanks!
This is a good solution to the headrest-attaching DVD players. It worked great for us on a long car-ride. The only thing I didn't like was the strap that holds the DVD player in slid off too easily and became loose, but this is probably because of the type of DVD player we have. We have the Sony swivel-screen 9" DVD player, and because is swivels, it only attaches in the middle of the folding mechanism, so the strap slips up and gets loose because there is nothing on the outer edges of the fold of the DVD player to keep it in place (if that makes sense). Other than that, it worked well and fit the purpose for which it was intended. If you are wondering about types of cars it fits in, we have a 2006 Mercedes ML350, and the straps worked well with the headrests, and the floor-attaching straps clipped into the floor tethers just fine.
When I started looking for a DVD Player case I wanted something small and functional and I loved the way this would hold the DVD player straight up and down. The straps are easy to install to your seats and the case just velcros around the strap between the seats. We have a 10' Sony DVD player and it fits perfectly in the bag. I do wish the bag was a little bigger as it does not hold everything for the DVD player and some movies, I usually have a small bag that has the headphones and movies in it. I guess I would want something too bulky hanging from the seats for safety reasons. Defiantely does the job and is a great buy.
This case worked out perfect for our new Sony DVD player. It easily hooked up to go over our SUV captain chairs. Plus it makes a great carrying and storage case for the player. I would recommend it.
The DVD case is nice looking and has plenty of storage. The directions are so so and I still can not figure out how to connect to the bottom on my seats.
Protective carrying case for DVD player and headphones, and convenient on its own. However, found it a little bulky, especially when carrying other bags at the airport.

Excellent product
We purchased this case for our Sony 9 inch DVD player. We were headed on a seven hour car trip with our two and a half year old (and four month old) and we were desperate for a way to keep him busy :-). The case works perfectly. We decided to hang it in between the front seats in our Toyota Sienna. Even though the DVD player was not directly in front of my son he never complained about being able to view it. We had an awesome trip thanks to the DVD player and this case! I would definitely recommend it!
Worked out great in the car, although we had a problem attaching to the back of the seat. The case is sturdy and had enough room for all the accessories for the Colby DVD player.
This was a good purchase for my trip. Fell short on sound quality for CD's. I would recommend it. In fact, one of my fellow travelers had the same portable player purchased at a higher price.

Purchased this to go with the Sony 9-Inch Portable DVD Player
I purchased this case to go with our Sony DVP-FX930/W 9-Inch Portable DVD Player, both from this site. I am pretty happy with is so far. It fits nicely on the back of my seat, but I have a 2007 Corolla and when we tried to put it in the middle of the two seats, it was way too close to my son. He could have kicked it or played with it in that location (we place his carseat in the middle so that he can see out). So, we settled for placing it on the back of the passenger seat, and that worked out well. My only real complaint is that it was hard to open the dvd player to change the DVD without the compartment door, catching on the case. It wasn't a big deal, because I would just hold back the sides of the case when I went to change a DVD, but I still wanted to mention it. Overall, this was a good purchase and I would recommend it.
This is a good item to carry your portable DVD. Good value and easy to install.

Great case for car riders!
So far, no problems. Very sturdy, and space friendly. I have a small jeep, so this works well.
This case is just what I needed. It has pockets to carry all the cords and chargers for the portable DVD player I have and it has a double headphone plug so when you strap it in the care, two people can listen without disturbing the passengers in front.

nice case, but sits too close to back seat for me
The case itself is of good construction and makes for nice storage of a DVD player or small netbook. However, when installed in my Toyota SUV, it sits so close to the back seat that the kids feet can kick it when they are in the car seat. I dont know if its just that my SUV is too small or if the design is just not a good idea. Anyhow, it does what it says it does, and if you have a big back seat, like a minivan, it will probably work great for you.

Great value, exactly what I wanted
This DVD player case worked great for our long car trip. It fit our 9-inch DVD player (all the ones in the store were too small) just perfect and fits all the accessories in the bag also, and a few DVDs can be stored in it as well. It worked well in our Trailblazer and I think it would fit just about any make/model of vehicle.
The case is sturdy and holds the dvd player nice and securely. The only draw back, two clips broke while trying to put in our van. But, it still works nicely.

Yes you can mount it on the back of your seat instead of in the middle
I just received this case and I am happy with the quality and it is as I expected it to be in that regard. I went with this one becasue you don't have to have it open like a tray table on the back of the seat, you can flip the top up and over and it lays flat against the seat, the other cases don't seem to do this.
My hope was that when I got it I could easily strap it to just one seat as opposed to between the two seats as the product is intended. I didn't want to have the dvd player in between the seats because I still need to reach the children durning long rides and this I feel would impede my ability to do that, besides I feel it is more comfortable to look at the dvd player right in front of you anyway. You can easily attach it to just the one seat although the velcro flap you need to need to wrap around the top anchor strap is a little bit of a pain to get in if you mount it in this fashion. I plan to get another case just for transporting the dvd players and I intend to keep these cases in the car all the time as it will be to much of a hassle to take the cases in and out of the car each time and far easier to remove the player and put it in another seperate case especially since I have two, one for each child. The main thing I like is the ability to fold the dvd player flat in the case so it will stay flush against the back of the seat and hopefully not get kicked as easily by the children when they are watching. So, so far so good hopefully it will work out well in the long run. But for those of you who like the look of this case and but didn't want a between the seats mounting, it can be mounted on the back of one seat easliy.

not great for rear seat viewing
The way this product attaches to the car seats is not great for viewing from either side of the back seat. It goes between the two front seats and if your child is in a car seat on either side, it makes it difficult for them to view the video.
This fits my 10.2 inch dvd player fine. There is plenty of room for extra cords. I use it in my honda accord and my daughter loves it.
Got this to use with the Panasonic DVD-LS86 8.5-Inch Portable DVD Player. It's relatively easy to install and fits well in our Prius. So far, no complaints.

Works great / great case
Not a lot to say that hasn't been said, but it's a great case that feels sturdy and holds our dvd player very well suspended between the two front seats. No complaints so far!
After reviewing portable DVD players, we chose the Sony DVP-FX820 8-Inch Portable DVD Player. Several reviewers chose this Case Logic, and now know why. It's sturdy, the straps allow for multiple configurations in different cars (between two seats, higher/lower, behind one seat, etc.), and it's compact, but has enough space for all the cords, remote, and dvds.
Great case!

It works for PET1030
I bought this for holding Panasonic PET 1030 DVD player in my Pilot car. It works perfect.
I bought this for my mini van to use it with my Sony 8 inch DVD player. It fits the player nicely. There are two earphone jacks on the bottom for easy access. Great for storing your car charger and discs and there is enough room for even the ear phones.
Here is how it works: Basically you suspend a strap between the two head rests and attach the case with a velcro that loops over the strap. Simple and a little bit primitive. I have a Windstar with headrests that are just an extention of the seat and don't rest on a metal bar. It probably works better if you have the adjustable headrests in your car.
The good news is that you can just remove the case from the strap and leave the strap when you want to take it out of the car.
The player is attached to the case with one skimpy little strap as well. So far it has been holding out but I wish it looked a little bit more sturdy.
This is a really nice case, especially for the price. It works well in the car to hold the DVD player in multiple positions. It works perfect with the Sony 8 inch player or the LG 8 inch player.

Some materials are cheaply made
Prior to setting it up in my car the clip broke that secures the case in the car. I do not think that the broken clip will prevent the use of the case, but I have to say that we as consumers should expect more.
I anticipate that this case may have an extremely short lifespan based on poor materials.
I would not recommend it to a friend.

Excellent and versatile
The case fits my Sony FX820 8" player with room to spare. Takes about 15-20 minutes to install in the car the first time but it's easy and intuitive. It fits between the front seats of our 2005 Volvo V70 perfectly. Minor drawback is it must be positioned between the front seats. It would be nice if it could also strap just to one seat so that a single person in the back could look straight ahead to watch a movie, not turn one's head to the middle (although our 6 year old son had no complaints whatsoever).
Interior pocket comfortably holds the DVD player cords and remote. You can squeeze 1, maybe 2 DVD cases in the pocket with the cords but things get pretty tight. Plan on carrying your movies in a separate bag.
The case doubles up nicely as a carrying case for airplane use. Leave the straps and cords at home and you can fit 2-3 movies in the pocket with ease.
Depending on the size of your DVD player, you might have to get creative with the strap that secures the player when you are using it just as a carrying case. I had to adjust the strap to a diagonal position so that it held my player securely (this will make sense once you see the case). Otherwise, your DVD player can fall out when you open the case.
Materials and construction quality seem good and the zipper opens and closes easily. I'm very happy with its performance.

A Must have for long car trips
This saved us in our 6 hour summer vacation drive. It was perfect for my son to watch his kid DVDs. It was easy to install and work with. We installed it in our 2000 Pathfinder. The only challenge was that our son is tall (like us - so our front seats are far back) and his feet could touch the DVD player while he was sitting in the middle car seat. We just had to tell him "You touch the screen and it (Bob the Builder) goes away." He quickly learned to keep his feet off of it. Without the DVD player we would have stopped every 60 minutes - with this we were able to go solid for 2.5 hours each time.

Works well with the Sony portable
Purchased this with my Sony portable DVD. Was not disappointed as the size was just right. All of the items plus the headphones I purchased fit inside, yet it is not too bulky. The fact that it can be used to hold the player while you watch is an added bonus. Plus the price was right.
I recently purchased a Sony DVP-FX820 8 inch portable DVD Player and needed case for my van. The case works great just as advertised. It holds all of the cords and a couple of movies. I would buy it again.
