Peerless SA740P Articulating LCD Wall Mount for 22-40" LCD Screens (Black)

Great Product! My 32" TV (200 x 200) mounted perfectly! The mount swivels smoothly and feels like it is made high-quality material. At first I thought $100 I paid for it seems crazy, however I think it was worth every penny.

First, let me say that I'm very pleased with this mount. It's a simple, compact, solid, single-stud design, and it would have been incredibly easy to install if the "extension" spec was as it appeared.

Please allow me to explain. I purchased a 40" Samsung LCD and wanted to mount it on a side wall of my den so that when it was being watched the mount would be fully extended and the TV would be rotated 90° (i.e., perpendicular) to the wall ... then when I need to get into the nearby closet I could rotate the TV against the wall to keep it out of the way. My TV is about 39.5" wide, so when I read in the product description that the mount would extend 20" from the wall I thought that I had found the perfect mount. Alas, when it arrived, I learned that the 20" dimension only applies when the TV remains parallel to the wall, and the extension when the TV is rotated 90° is closer to 17.5"-18", which will be fine for TV's less than about 35" wide, but not for mine. To resolve this shortcomming (pun intended), I built a block of oak, which I lagged to the wall, and to which I attached the base of the mount. With this setup it works exactly as I need it to, and I am therefore happy with the final result.

The mount is sturdy enough for my 40" TV, but I can see why they rate that as the largest acceptable size. My TV has 200x200mm VESA mounting pattern ... the mount is 100x100, but it included a 200x200 adapter plate that works perfectly.

Cable management is unspectacular but very simple and effective ... remove one or both sliding covers, insert the cables, and replace the covers.

All in all, I can't imagine a better mount for the money for use with small-to-medium size TVs.

I used this to mount a 26 inch Sharp LCD HD TV. I needed it to fully extend and rotate so that the display was perpendicular to the wall with the center of the TV nearly 24 inches from the wall. I didn't want the display to sag and it stays in this extended position at all times.
Mission accomplished ! The mount was easy to install and adjust. It is very sturdy and holds this extended position very well. The mount even has nice cable raceways to hide cords. Sturdy. Well made. Easy install.

Installation was straightforward. Instructions were clearly written. Televisions haven't fallen off the wall yet.

Easy to set up and works great. The articulating arm works good and gives you 180° viewing capabilities.

As usual I do a lot of research when buying something new, and did my homework on this product. Just what I wanted, installing was not that hard. You do have to make sure you find the stud, but this mount does move side to side and can be tilted, pushed back against the wall or out,somewhat adjustable which is a must I think for a mount. If you don't need it centered on the wall then probably don't need one like this, but most I would think need to adjust it once on the wall. I have mine in the bedroom with a 32" tv, just perfect, and when you need to get behind the tv it moves out very easily. Very pleased!

Easy to attach to the wall and TV. The swivel part is great for moving the tv into different veiwing sports. Very nice product.

This bracket works great for "catty-corner" installations. Worked Very well for my Series 4 32" Samsung LCD. The main advantage to this type of bracket is that the TV can lay flat against the wall or diagonally across a corner. Good quality bracket, fair price.

I am writing to provide an unbiased, non-technical, "regular guy" review, as I have found those to be the most helpful and beneficial for my personal use in the past. I will cover three areas, the Peerless mount, Amazon site, and delivery. First off, the product itself (Peerless SA740P Articulating LCD Wall Mount) is thus far proving to be well worth the price paid on Amazon. The price was less then I found at other locations, including the Peerless website. I've had it mounted for about two months and have had no negative issues. It works as directed and as I expected - steady, clean smooth movement, left-right, tilt, and easily extends from wall for further rotation/articulation. I have this mounted over my fireplace and outside of the difficulty drilling into the masonry work - installation of the actual product was quite simple. If your brick is as "tough" as mine, I recommend using a rotary hammer (i.e. hammer drill) with at least a mason bit (can be rented from many hardware stores) - once initial hole is developed the hammer action is quick and easy - without this device, I don't think I could have mounted, as I attempted with standard drill and got nowhere after 20+ minutes of drilling. To determine correct mount for your brand of TV, refer to [...]- you can determine the exact model for your television, otherwise it may not fit your set. Amazon site was simple to navigate, provided ample information on products and provided good comparisons. I had this delivered the next day and it arrived by late morning (even with next day delivery, price still came in less than competitors did).

Works great with our 32 inch flat panel TV. It tilts and pulls out from the wall as well.

2 Screws installs it into the stud and off you go. Works well. Was missing 2 screws to lock the TV to the arm and the tilt angle. I needed the larger Vesa 400x200 for my particular TV so I had to order that one separately.

Good, solid, easy to install. Moves easily and works well with the 32" Samsung we used it on.

I ordered this mount after having purchased a similar product from Cheetah mounts, which was very dissapointing. The Cheetah mount had a good deal of sag, which I was told "was inevitable in an articulated mount". I returned it and ordered this Peerless product, and wouldn't you know it, it doesn't sag to any noticeable extent. It's extremely solid and a lot easier to move around and reorient. Very pleased with both the design and the manufacturing quality. That being said, I paid a bit extra for the model which hides the cords, and in retrospect, I wouldn't do that again since the cords are only hidden as far as the "elbow" and need to be zip-tied to the rest of the arm (for a clean look) anyway. That aside, this is an excellent product and well worth the money.

We needed to mount a 26" LG LCD TV. We have a very small, corner location in the Kitchen and want to be able to pull the TV out from the wall and then swivel it when in use, pushing it back flat and out of the way when not in use. The Peerless mount is great! We had a wooden stud to drive a single screw into (which was a job), and this provides all the anchor we need to hold the mount and TV. The LG TV does not have good contrast when viewed from below, so we also tilt the TV forward slightly as well as swivel it. Good product. I recommend it if you have a small TV to mount.

Peerless PA740 Articulating Wall Mount for 22-Inch to 40-Inch Flat Panel Displays (Gloss Black) This product was easy to install. I have a 32" LCD that needed to be mounted on a sidewall and this product was what I needed.

This was the recommended mount for my Samsung LN-T4081 40" LCD with VESA 200 mounting, and the price was right.

Comments:
1. The installation instructions were well done and the machining and parts were top notch. Everything fit together as expected. The included screws for wooden stud mounting are flathead Phillips, but for the torque required, hex head lag bolts or a very large Robertson would have been a more appropriate choice. You can forget about screwing this into an old-growth stud by hand.

2. I wanted this centered on a wall, but there was no stud dead center, so I had to offset it about 4". It can appear centered, however, by pulling it out from the wall about 10 inches. I am not sure if the WSP accessory bracket could be modified to compensate in a case like this. Otherwise I would have to open the wall and add framing, or have a machine shop make up a custom bracket.

3. It would have been nice of them to include a CAD drawing with exact dimensions, because I had to do a fair amount of figuring to determine that if I wanted the TV exactly centered on the wall, the stud would have had to be 3-3/16" inches off center. (In other words don't plan on centering your TV on the wall!)

4. The orbital adjustment is nice in case the bracket is not mounted perfectly vertical. It may also be necessary to adjust this due to flexing from the increased load on the bracket as a larger TV is pulled out from the wall and angled.

5. A 40-inch LCD is definitely at the limit of what this can handle. My set weighs, I think, 50 lbs. If fully extended and angled horizontally, I would not want to add any loading or pressure on the far end of the TV. It gets pretty wobbly. I would not buy it if it would need frequent adjustment or if kids or a crowd were going to be handling it. I think that's why the price on this was so reasonable vs. the prices I saw for heavier-duty wall mounts.

I originally bought this wall mount for my Father for the 37" inch LCD Samsung we bought him. It is very well built and was easy to mount and to get the display on it. When my Father passed away at 92, we moved the display and the mount into what we call our "Wii room." It's great to be able to move the display to different positions and then put it back flat against the wall. I have also seen it at Costco, if you are a member, you may want to check there. The price has gone down and you should be able to get it [...]. You won't be disappointed with this mount.

This is a very sturdy wall mount. It was easy to install and comes with all you will need to mount on any surface. It articulates very nicely.

I mounted a 32" Samsung LCD with this mount and I couldn't be happier. The installation went very smoothly and the mount has been working flawlessly ever since. I wouldn't change a single thing about it!

I installed a 40" Samsung on this mount. The adapter plate fitted perfectly. I needed a little more extension, so I bought longer screws (slightly hard to find) and put a 2 x 4 between the mount and the wall.

Given that this mount was far cheaper even than other mounts in the Circuit City going-out-of-business sale, I don't see why anyone with a TV 40" or under would by anything else. Make sure you check the specs online, because a few brands of TV need an adapter that is not sold with the unit.

It extends, retracts, tilts, and you can tighten various allen wrench screws to make it stiffer or looser.

This product works.

Packaging was perfect, as item was flawless with all parts secured and undamaged. Build quality is typical Peerless...Excellent. Installation options were many, installation steps were clear, and actual mounting was simple. Overall, it is hard to expect anything more out of a wall mount in terms of ease, installation and adjustment options, and overall aesthetics. I highly recommend this product, as it lives up to the high expectations that I have for Peerless product. Excellent value, and much better than the Sonus mounts anywhere near this price point. Stop wasting your valuable time reading more reviews, and buy it!!

This is not the run of the mill wall mount. Very well made, sturdy, good looking and does the trick. Also, ordering, shipping and delivery were efficient and uneventful, on time and arrived in excellent condition. Thank you Amazon...you saved us a ton of money!

I read in several Amazon reviews that it would be much easier to connect to the wall stud using hex head screws instead of the included Phillips head screws. They were absolutely right. I had to go to a full service hardware store (could not find them at the big box home improvement store.) I found exactly the same length screws already painted black with hex heads. In northern California, they are available at Orchard Supply Hardware.

I also checked my electronic stud sensor readings by nailing small finishing nails into the wall to determine the true stud width. This is a reliable way to be sure you have found the true center of the stud. The stud sensor was slightly off, so I was glad I checked using the nails. The nail holes are hidden by the base of the wall mount when the job is done.

Using a socket wrench the screws are easily fastened to the stud. The final mounting is very sturdy, supporting a 40 lb. 37 inch LCD TV. I would have rated it five stars if the manufacturer had included hex head mounting screws.

I purchased this unit for my 32" Samsung in my bedroom. I wanted an articulating unit so I could put the TV high into a corner and the face down and at an angle..."bar room style."

While the TV seemed very large on my dresser, mounting it with this arm (or any like this) gave the TV the effect of being more appropriately sized for the small space it was in.

Installation was easy. I handled the hardware on the back of the TV. My friend who is more handy than I, identified the stud and measured so we would get the stud dead center. Two holes and that was it.

Now the TV is the perfect angle to watch while in bed. I'm happy.

Bought this two weeks ago and it was a great buy. Using it on a new 32 inch sharp HD TV.
Absolutly no sag when extended ,Took my wife and I 20 min to install and we are slow ,just to make sure we found a solid stud. Had to use the extra plate on the TV for 200 X 200 but no big deal, it went right on. All in all a solid swing arm and a real good price for whats out there.

I bought this wall mount for my Samsung LN32A450 32 inch TV. I actually put the wall mount up a week before my TV even arrived, which made it so much easier for when the TV actually did come. I mounted it to a wood stud. My only suggestion would be to have an extra long drill bit for the 2 screws OR go extremely slow when screwing in in order to not strip the screws. Great product!

Bought this on Amazon for a 32" Samsung. Came on time, as described, and works great. It was easy to install, does the job, and is marvelously engineered. For example, if you don't install it straight (which I definitely recommend doing), it allows you to rotate the TV so it still looks straight. The arm includes slots for your wires so that you can bundle them and it doesn't look messy. The arm is installable in a lot of different places, and the amount of options you have as far as viewing angle goes is great. We put this up in front of our elliptical, but still can turn it 45 degrees to watch in bed. It feels sturdy and we haven't had any problems or reason to be concerned about it keeping the TV up on the wall. The only thing I would mention is that our arm was a little tight when we got it, but it was easy to loosen with an Allen wrench (not included).

The product is of high quality metal. No crappy plastic parts to break. And, this is a big arm in that it extends out more than I need. I have noticed as well, that when it is fully out, the screen appears to be tilted. Though, not the case when it is pressed back against the wall. I might just be hallucinating, hard to say. And it could also just be a minor adjustment, more likely. Overall, it is a quality arm - does what it says it will do. I know that if you spend another couple hundred dollars you do get better articulating functions, a bit smoother in and out motion. Yet, if you are not going to be constantly moving the screen in and out and about, this arm does the trick. If you will be moving the screen a lot, and a couple hundred dollars doesn't break the piggy bank - then I'd probably go with the next level up in quality. With something like this, I like the product when I don't notice it and is just that. No big fireworks, but no big downers either.

The instructions were easy to follow and the mount was a snap to put on the wall. I would recommend drilling a pilot hole first though.

I had no problems assembling, installing on the wall, or attaching my 32" LCD. It's a sturdy unit. I connected the TV with an S video cable and RCA audio cables (two leads) to a DVD player and used a coax cable to connect cable TV service. Including the power cord, this meant a total of 5 cables. This was quite a bundle to route neatly in place. Once I ran these cables in the covered channels provided in the Peerless mount, the mount doesn't easily fold completely flat against the wall. This is my only complaint (reason for 4 stars), but this is simply a matter of how many cables I used. If I just had the power cord and one HDMI cable, it would fold up fine. Overall the Peerless is a good purchase.

This size wall mount seemed to be a little hard to find in the stores. If we did find this size / type of mount the price was very high almost 200 or more.. Product, tax, and shipping was only $119.. Awesome buy ! Highly recommend !!

The SA740 (also made by Peerless) is just slightly more than half of the price of this model! The only difference is that this model extends about 3.5" more away from the wall than the other model. Other than that, they are exactly the same! It's hardly worth the additional money unless you have a specific need to extend your TV away from the wall a maximum distance.

I bought this and I am sort of sorry I spent the extra money on it (at the time I was unaware that the SA740 was also being sold on Amazon for so much less), but I am too lazy to send it back and wait for the replacement to arrive. It's still quite a bit cheaper than buying a mount from Circuit City or Best Buy.

I also found out that I needed an additional $80 adapter plate for my Sharp 32" LCD TV. Without the adapter, this arm is useless! Another reviewer mentioned this as well on Amazon. Unfortunately, I didn't read his review prior to buying so now I am waiting an extra week for the adapter plate to arrive.

As an engineer, I appreciate the challenge of creating a good design. Good design is simple, robust, easy to install and good looking. Hanging my expensive LCD TV on a mount attached to the wall with 2 screws was a little unnerving. But this is a sturdy and well designed mechanical device. The best feature, aside from the simple installation, is the ability to simply position your TV in any location and have it stay precisely where you left it. No thumbscrews or bolts to adjust each blasted angle, looking at the result, readjusting again and again until you are ready to reach for the valium! Just set it and forget it! Can't get better and easier than that! No use even considering another product. Add it to your cart now!
Hint: Buy this mount before you buy your TV, mount it to the wall, run your wiring, so when your spiffy new TV arrives later, it takes you about 5 minutes before you are tuning out the world and marvelling at the wise purchase you made!
Additional Hint: Use the correct size Phillips screwdriver to turn the 2.5 inch screws that attach this to the wall. If you use a screwdriver that has too small a head, you will strip these long screws (they get hard to turn once they are in about 2 inches).

I first shopped for wall mounts at our local Best Buy store and the cheapest one for our 37" Sony LCD tv was $250! I was surprised to find this one online for about $150 less. The included instructions are not well written, so it took us a little bit of trial & error to get it together correctly. It seems very sturdy and I like that it can pull out from the wall a full 20" (some only reach about 10"). My only complaint, which is very minor, is that it's a little stiff - so to pull out the tv from the wall (or push it back) takes a little work. But, it's not like we need to do that constantly, so it's a minor hassle considering we saved so much money buying this one from Amazon.

I purchased this mount for use with my 32" Samsung LCD. It works perfectly and provides full range of motion.

Highly recommend! This is the second peerless wall arm we have bought and installed and they are both working out well. They seem to be a strong support for our TV's and they were not difficult for my husband to install. The swivel bracket gives us an unlimited choice of angles to turn the TV's.

This bracket was easy to install and works great.
It is a bit of a challenge getting the TV on the bracket, however, so be sure to have a strong adult with you to help when it's time to hang the TV onto the wall bracket.
I'd buy another.

I loved the look of this, until I tried to fit it to my Sharp Aquos 32" TV which has a VESA 300x300 mount pattern. You need an additional "adaptor plate", and it costs over $100! It's a piece of metal with holes, for heaven's sake! So I bought it, and now I am disappointed - the combo cost over $200, and it's ugly. The adaptor plate sticks out and it's just gross. And the plate also prevents the TV from going back flush against the wall as it might have done with just the basic articulating arm mount.

How difficult would it have been for Peerless to have simply put in a few extra pieces of metal to reach the 300x300 mounting holes? It's a Sharp 32" TV - not like some obscure brand.

A rare product in this day and age; well made, easy to assemble and works as advertised.

I LOVE this wall mount! It works perfectly in the middle of two large rooms so I can turn it to have great coverage anywhere. I've got a 40" Samsung and it's fine.

This is an excellent wall mount. I have a 32 Inch Flat Panel that is holding up just fine. It is very easy to install (Took about 15 minutes, just make sure you have a good drill) and looks great. It is easy to use to move the TV around, the range of motion is quite satifisfying.

I bought this wall mount for my 32" Sharp Aquos LCD tv. I figured the 100 dollar price was good for a mount that would allow the tv to swing out, tilt, and rotate. Unfortunately, once I got it I realized that neither the mount nor the adapter bracket included would fit my tv. That meant I needed to buy a separate adapter plate, which was another $100.00. Being unwilling to spend the money, I came up with my own solution (drilled holes in two flat metal bars from local home improvement store, total cost of $8.00) and made it work. The rest of the installation was quite easy (with two people), and the mount is solid and works as advertised. I recommend visiting the website for Peerless to see if the mount will work with your tv, or if you need an adapter plate.

Add me to the list of pleased buyers of this unit. Before getting it, I was concerned about being able to adjust it horizontally, to center it between two windows. You see, the stud I mounted it to, was 5" off-center. As it turns out, the mount will NOT allow you to adjust the horizontal position, so buyers beware. The website gives good diagrams of the unit, and you find that the center of the mount plate is about 3.75" from the mount holes. So, even tho' the unit is about 1.25" off-center, it is not noticeable in our installation in the bedroom.
Now, installing this unit is a breeze. I couldn't believe how easy it was, even for one person. Just make sure you find the center of the stud prior to drilling the holes. I used a drill bit just slightly larger than recommended, and the screws were easier to tighten. I also added some rubber pads to the arm so it wouldn't mar the wall when folded back completely. This is a well-engineered product, and certainly worth the cost.

Product is very strong, but requires an underlying wall stud. Placement is limited by the location of the Stud. Easy one touch manipulation of the arm and great flexibility in positioning the TV.

What a great value and product! This mount worked perfectly with our Olevia 32 inch flat panel. The "official" mount for our tv was over $300 which was almost 1/2 of what we paid for this tv on black friday. We bought this mount after reading the many positive reviews. We owned another previous Peerless Wall Mount (flat mount) for our bedroom tv and was also extremely satisfied. This mount was even easier because we used it to hang a tv in our living room above our corner fireplace. It was impossible not to get it level because it has the tilt and rotating mount that allows you to easily move it into any position. Definite 5 stars!

I had this out of the box and on the wall with the TV on it in about 5 minutes and the was fussing with making certain that it was perfectly level, which as it turns out really isn't an issue because of the devices' flexibility. When looking to insert the composite cable into the hidden slot I thought, "No way will this fit in there!". But, it went in with hardly any effort. We move our TV frequently and this mount makes it a one finger job. PERFECT IMO.

I bought this mount to go with a Westinghouse 40" HDTV/DVD TV that I also bought at Amazon.com. Both iems are great so far. I'm very pleased with purchases from Amazon.com.

This Peerless wall mount is great. It mounted to my 40" Samsung 4061 perfectly. I mounted it to the wall with ease. The hardest part was getting it mounted exactly level because I'm sort of a perfectionist. But the tilt locking screw allows you to fix the screen if it's not perfectly level after it's screwed into the wall. This was my first wall mount and I was suprised how easy it was. It's a good idea to have another person help you if you have a 40" tv. I'm glad I did.
