[+] 10.0 Very Pleased with the T10 Corded Headset Phone
I just purchased my third Plantronics T10 Corded Headset Phone and have not considered any other. It takes up little space and is easy to operate. Quality is good, and I will probably continue to use the T10 as long as it is available. Very pleased.

[+] 10.0 Great clarity and reliability
I needed a hands-free telephone to run my business from my desktop computer. I have had this phone since August of '07 and it has never given me a problem... other than being wired. It is a little restricting when I have to reach for something beyond the cord length while on a call. I have recently upgraded to a wireless setup to overcome this limitation, but still use this phone a lot (it's hard to break a habit).

In my opinion, you simply cannot beat the quality of Plantronics.

[+] 2.0 Plantronics telephone headset
This Plantronics T10 corded phone headset is very old technology. It is bulky and takes up too much desk space.
The unit I received from Amazon had very loud noise on the headset. I tried it with 3 different telephone lines, and it was bad on all of them.
I don't recommend this headset. I didn't want a replacement unit, and Amazon refunded my purchase with no argument.

[+] 10.0 great phone
I bought this phone for a part time job I do and I am very satisfied. It's a basic headset phone, very light to carry and easy to set up- I just plug the phone cord in the back and I'm good to go. The headset cord is pretty long and doesn't get twisted so I can move around my desk no problem and the earphone is comfortable to wear for long periods of time.

[+] 2.0 Very loud line hum.
I bought 2 of these and both had a loud line hum. I bought another one thinking I had 2 defective ones but it was just as bad. I called Plantronics and they send me a replacement headset which was no help at all. They then sent a new phone with no success. In my next conversation they were at a dead end, they did not really believe it was their phone's fault and since I was using a VoIP service, I could not prove otherwise.

I bought another headset phone [...] with similar results. At that point I was convinced it was on my end. After calling many times to my VoIP service, the local phone company thinking it might have something to do with it due to the DSL coming over their lines and to my ISP just to make sure it was not on their end either. Nothing worked. I kept using the [...] phone due to the much smaller footprint & profile.

I called Plantronics back about this after running all of the tests & left a message, without ever getting a reply.

I then called [...] back (13 months later) and complained about the hum and they said they had redesigned their product. They also said their product had a 2 year warranty so they would send me out a new one... overnight. They also sent me a prepaid shipping label to return the old one. I got the new phone in & the hum was 100% gone.

I then called Plantronics back explaining that I have 3 of their phones and all of them have this hum in them. I further explain that I was told that Plantronics did not think the problem was in their phone and I could not refute this via any facts. I also said that I had called & left a message without any reply.

I was told "Well they are out of warranty."

I suggest you look elsewhere for a headset phone.

[+] 4.0 My experience hasn't been great
I've been using this phone at work for two months now. Overall the experience has been less than satisfactory.

The first one I had was defective out of the box. When I plugged it in it opened a line and I could not hang it up. After some troubleshooting it was determined I would need a new one. The following is based on my second (working) phone.

Pros -

- Just plug and go. Set up was as easy as plugging it into my phone line.
- Headset rest. I have a place to hang my headset now that isn't a push pin in the wall.
- Accessories. Comes with necessary attachments to change the way you wear the headset

Cons -

- Sensitive. This phone picks up everything in my vicinity. Those that I'm talking too can hear a pin drop in my office.
- Noise/Static. On every call there seems to be static, and what's strange is it goes away as long as I put the phone on mute. So, I can hear them clearly while they are talking but I have to hear static while i'm trying to speak.
- Mute button clicks. If I choose to use the mute button it makes a click sound on the line and those I'm talking too can hear it. So if I'm trying to mute to cough, sneeze, or maybe take a drink they instantly say "You still there". Then of coarse I have to answer them while still coughing or hurrying to finish my drink.
- Quite. Those that I'm talking too seem much more quite than with my old phone and the volume/tone don't seem to help any with this.

I wouldn't use this phone again and hope to be getting a new one soon. I couldn't recommend this to others.

[+] 10.0 Plantronics T10 Headset

[+] 4.0 Hum on the Line
I bought this phone because I use it in my job as customer service rep. This phone has had a humming noise on the line since day one. I even had the phone company out to check my lines, they say it is the phone. I cannot deal with this noise. I would not recommend this phone if you need an absolute clear line.

[+] 2.0 Product FAILED at 35 days
Hi All,

I love the product, but it FAILED / shorted out at just over 35 days. Stupid Amazon doesn't let me return it. It just shorted out.

It is so frustrating when big retailers like Amazon collude with companies like Plantronics and just make your little ole' life so difficult. Is it worth the hasslet to fight over, probably not. But I'm out $65 dollars over this.

Very unhappy with both Plantronics and Amazon.

[+] 4.0 static noise and mute button noise
compact, doesn't take up a lot of space, doesn't require a power outlet; easy to use, good price. But the static is too loud, to reduce it to a bearable level you have to turn the volume really low. Mute button makes a "click" sound every time you use it. I bought this for home-based business. Every time I used the mute it made the click sound, my client heard it and thought I hung up. That is not good.

[+] 2.0 Unreliable
I was disappointed. Within the first hour of use, the audio failed. I was on a call and my voice couldn't be heard for several seconds. I wiggled the wire connecting the ear piece and the audio was restored but I was very frustrated. This same experience happened three more times the first week. I had read a similar review when I bought it but gave the unit the benefit of the doubt. Wrong decision. So, I'm shopping again.

[+] 6.0 Good phone
I work as a phone interpreter and I like the simplicity and ease of dialing of this phone. That said, the ear piece doesn't seem to convey sound well so sometimes I have to ask clients to speak up. Also, the mute button makes a slight click sound that I suspect is audible to the other party so they probably know when I press it, which is often. If it weren't for that, I'd love this phone.

I also heard that these headset-type phones are bad for the ear. I have heard anecdotes of veterans in the field suffering hearing loss, but these are not confirmed. They recommend getting a regular old phone with the Y-brace attachment (if you need your hands free to take lots of notes).

[+] 8.0 Excellent Brand Product
This product is an excellent telephone system device that is flexible to fit around my ears, and I can have the microphone or mouthpiece close to my mouth. Additionally, it has an appealing front face telephoe pad that lights up when a call comes through, and lights in attractive green and red colors. The sound of the rings have a tone and spacing between them of a business phone ring; the sound is distinctively of a professional office ring tones, if you will. Hope you enjoy this famous brand; and the quality of Plantronics for their well-known phone features.

[+] 2.0 Poor sound quality
The headset is very comfortable and it comes with two options. The over the head one, and over the ear. The big problem is the sound quality. There's something like a buzzing sound when you are on a call. The noice stops when you press the mute button. If you need good sound quality, look for another phone.

[+] 8.0 Call Center at Home!!
After having worked in a call center, I knew Plantronics made quality telephony products. The Plantronics T10 offers both a comfortable over-head band with a cushioned earpiece as while as a quick and convenient switch to an ear-mounted boom-mic setup.

I use this product as a home-based virtual call center agent and the T10 is comfortable enough to wear for the long hours that can often accompany being an independent contractor.

The only two downsides I found to this product is that my extension wire to the wall plate doesn't snap into the back of the T10 properly, causing it to come loose at times (I'm not sure if this is the fault of the T10 or my wire, though). I've also found that, when this happens, you may not get a dialtone after plugging the wire back in. This can be rectified by calling the phone from another line. The other downside is that there is only a "Hi" and "Low" option for the ringer; no "Off".

Now that I've worked out my pair of minor pet peeves, I've come to enjoy the decision I made in choosing to purchase the Plantronics T10. Definitely a good buy.

[+] 10.0 8 months trouble free.
I use this for long and frequent conference calls with a moderator who is very sensitive to unwanted noises on the line, and haven't had any negative comments from her or anyone else. If you're making long calls from your home office the Plantronics T10 is the way to go.

[+] 6.0 Too basic for this price.
This Headset Phone is very basic and simple for the $ I paid for it. Don't count on it too much, it is even less than a regular home phone, no programming or memory options, no display, mute button clicks loudly so that both parties on the line hear it. If I had time to find a better alternative, definitely would have bought that instead, I just needed this thing soon by first day of work from home.

[+] 10.0 Exactly what I wanted.
I don't know why people complain about this thing so much. I LOVE it. Some have complained about audio quality but I haven't seen any issues with it. Infact, it has two little dials on the side, one for volume, and one for "tone", the tone is especially helpful, for if somebodies line is really fuzzy and hard to hear, you can play with the "tone" and make it easier to hear. Also if their voice is really annoying... you can adjust it to be easier on your ears.

I'm an interpreter and it's important that I hear clearly what's being said, and I love this piece of equipment for make that a LOT easier.

Woot, Freaking, Yeah!

[+] 6.0 works well for LiveOps
I use the T10H with the H361N headset for my work with LiveOps. The first set I purchased had a loud buzz and would not disconnect properly from a call. Sent it back and the replacement has worked well. I do have interference on the line. Strangely enough, when I turn on my desk lamp the low hum disappears, when I turn off the lamp the hum comes back, go figure. The volume control could be lower as well. Using the phone for personal use the sound volume is rather loud, but on a call for LiveOps I actually have to turn the volume up so it all works out.

[+] 10.0 Great home business system!
I just bought this phone after buying cordless after cordless with headset jacks. I work from home and there is nothing more embarrassing than your cordless battery running out before you can get to an extension! Many people (reviewers) commented on the fact that there was a hum to the phone. The very first time I used the the phone, I didn't notice anything at all. About an hour later I noticed a barely perceptable hum, I asked if the other person on the other end could hear it and they said "no, the sound quality and clarity is great!". I just turned the volume down a bit and there is no hum. Even with the volume turned almost all the way up you can barely notice it. I highly recommend this phone to anyone looking for a good corded phone with a headset, rarely do you find a corded phone for home use that can have a headset attached! Excellent buy, excellent quality!

[+] 8.0 Discovered solution to buzzing issue
I purchased this product refurbished for my business. At first I was reluctant because of some reviews, but I had difficulties finding another product that was all-inclusive such as this one.

I was wary and prepared to hear buzzing. I did not initially, but after I took my fourth client call there was so much buzzing in the line, I could not hear my client. I discovered the problem was interference with my cell phone which was on and near the unit. I simply removed that from the immediate area of the phone along with anything else that may cause a line disturbance and it was clear as a bell from there on.

So far I'm very happy with this product. I would have given it 5 stars, but it seems a little flimsy and fragile to me. Also, you need to hit the on/off button rather firmly to ensure it hangs up.

[+] 4.0 Very poor, people cant hear you
Headset is ok.

There is no Silent alert function, which is silly for a headset only phone setup. It has to ring to base unit.

The headband is large, most women will find it too large to wear comfortably

The mic on the headset is poor, people can barely hear you. This was tried calling several people, with different users on the headset. All produced poor call quality.

The volume is a minimal adjustment. It is definately not amplified.

Tone was a nice feature, but again, minor adjustment. Not like the tone settings on a radio for instance, from 1-10. But more like from 5-6

Poor product, plan on returning it.

The earpiece is also silly, hard plastic, so if you plan to wear on the ear, it will be unconfortable for extended wear.

[+] 4.0 Great concept, terrible quality
After reading the reviews on Amazon, I decided to still go ahead and pick this headset up. The concept of the phone is fantastic, a small footprint and very intuitive controls. The large buttons and lights make it easy to tell when the line is active and mute is on.

The big problem with this phone is line noise. After using it for a day, I have to retire this phone as it is completely unusable. The noise can be heard on both sides of the call. Also, I tried two different phone lines at two different houses, same result. Other coredless phones sound perfectly clear on the same lines.

I ordered this product Plantronics T10 Corded Headset Phone (Purchased on 10/02/2008) by Plantronics from
[...] through Amazon.com. It took about a week to get to me and being this is my first time using this product, I thought everything would be fine,(seeing that the invoice had the right product info.) But low and behold to my surprise when I received a T20 instead of the T10 I had ordered. I had to work with the darn thing and could not get to return it. So now I'm stuck with a product I simply didn't order. The product itself is a fine product if you want something that requires the use of electricity, but I didn't. The fact that I ordered a T10 was for the sole purpose of not having to plug yet another device into a wall jack. So I say to you my friends there is seemingly no way to know what you'll be getting under false advertisement. I've learned my lesson, and it just took my FIRST purchase...[...]

[+] 8.0 Good headset for the money
I bought this item when I was starting an at home business contracting for big companies as a phone center. I knew it had to be a plug in the wall type phone with wired connections (due to security concerns.) I also needed noise canceling features with the microphone so I would keep my contracting hirers happy.

I thought I would have to buy two seperate units (phone and then a seperate headset), but I was so happy that for the price of one piece I found both! I worried because the other reviews were not good, but due to budget constraints decided to take the plunge and try it out anyway. I'm glad I did. At first there was static on the line, but I unplugged the cord from the wall and readjusted the cord positioning and it helped, so it wasn't even the phone, it was just the connection in the wall.

Features I like: It has a Mute button (handy during coughs/sneezes or other issues.) Also I love the big ON/OFF button that is easy to see for easy call retrieval. The phone itself is the perfect size to sit on the edge of your desk and be out of the way, and the headset cord is long so it reaches that distance easily. The other feature I adore is how the phone is propped up and not flat, making it easy to see the numbers and buttons from across your desk without leaning over.

Also there is a clip you can clip onto your clothes to avoid pulling the headset off as you move around (because of the cord being heavy). Which I should mention, the cord is not heavy. It is a very thin wire and light. The clip is a little hard to open and move along the cord (reason for the 4 stars and not 5.

Aside from that, there are two features I wish this had-a button on the headphone cord to turn phone on/off and a hold button, but at least I can use Mute when necessary in lieu of hold. So I have been happily taking calls with this little buddy ever since I bought it.

[+] 10.0 Plantronics T10 is the best all in one on the market!
The phone came completely assembled with the phone base and the attached headset. All I had to do was plug in a phone cord and it was ready for use. I have been using it for a couple of weeks now and it allows me to multi task without any obstacles or interruptions. Also, the length of the headset cord allows me to move around my office with ease. I am not tied to my desk, so to speak!

With the unavailability of corded phones in this day and age, this product provides a secure land line for whatever business I need to do over the phone.

[+] 10.0 I love this phone/headset
I, too, read the reviews on this T10 model and am so glad I took the chance. I'd tried other corded models but this one fit the bill for me. I can use it while walking around the house (I bought an extension that allows me to go to any room in the house), while sitting at the desk surrounded with all of the electronic equipment (no static noise!), or in the kitchen. I work as a telephonic interpreter and must use a corded phone, so this works ideally for me. Especially like the push button on the phone itself for mute rather than it being on the cord. Other headsets have the mute on the cord, and they snap easily. This unit is small enough that I can fit it into an apron pocket and be handsfree while I walk around the house with it. Way cool!

[+] 2.0 LOUD BUZZ/SCREECH
Read the reviews before I purchased. Found many folks that bought and unit had a loud buzz. I ignored these and bought anyway. Guess what?? My unit had the buzz and believe me the buzz is loud and is more like a screech. It's so loud you have to hold the headset away from your ear. Nothing corrects it. I called Plantronics and they said it was a bad unit. I will not purchase another because I think the odds are I'll get the same thing.

Good Luck.
Hooray to Amazon. They took it back no questions and paid the return postage.

I needed a comfortable headset since I work from home as a Customer Service Rep. [+] 2.0 Customers Will Notice the Hum!
I chose this model because I had some experience using it at the large call center I used to work for. When I became an "at-home" agent, I decided to buy the same model. Unfortunately, there really is a humming on the line! For several months I assumed it was my land line, however even after moving out of state and using a completely different phone company, I had the same awful, loud humming. Too late, I realized it was the phone. The volume issue is also true and customers will complain about both.
Save your money!
