[+] 10.0 Season 3 - Best yet
In my opinion this is the best season of Prison Break so far. This show moves along at such a fast pace it seems like each episode is all over and done with in not time.

This season is made that much more interesting by all the lead characters being dumped in together into a jail in a third world country. The backdrop of this unusual jail setup creates something extra for this season of a brilliant show.

I've been addicted to this show right from day one. One of my favorites of all time.

[+] 10.0 Action packed!
The only problem with "Prison Break" Season 3 is that it's only 13 episodes due to the 2007 writer's strike. Nonetheless, it's an action-packed 13 episodes, with Michael Scofield in a Panamanian prison after coming THIS CLOSE to freedom after breaking out of Fox River Penetentiary (Season 1) and making his escape to Panama (Season 2). If you loved "Prison Break" seasons 1 and 2, no reason not to love season 3!

[+] 10.0 Not as good as season 1,2&4
This season was done during the writers strike, and it is obvious. It is worth watching but only to keep you up to date on details that you will need when the show returns to it's "greatness".

[+] 10.0 Prison Break

I started out buying a download with Pepsi caps and watching the movie here on my computer where it's saved automatically and I can watch over and over. I must admit, it was good, super good. I got addicted to the TV series and have now downloaded two series and bought the third series where Amazon sent me two Cd's in a very nice package (shipping and handling FREE) for many more hours of entertainment. I am now looking forward to the forth series as soon as it becomes available. I highly recommend Amazon for their service and dedication to their products. Use your Credit card without fear. I did and have had no problems at all. Jerry

[+] 10.0 Brilliant !!
Michael Scofield ( Wentworth Miller ) back into prison ( What A Mess, Prison !! ) He's really brilliant the way he's escape ( how he's bullies the other )and save L.J at the museum. And even He's act is very smart ( 2 thumbs up for him ).
The series still make us curious about the woman who killed Sara and the whom Michael Scofield brought him out too..So Brilliant for the writer.
You Must See this series...It's a great one from season one.
Just to bad, for this season, the series is too short. Overall, love this series.

[+] 10.0 Strike made this the best season by far
Prison Break Season 3 is the best season by far. Before watching it, I was influenced by the fact that it was strike-shortened, and I thought it might be incomplete and would not be very good. Instead, it turns out to be one of the best laid-out TV Series I have ever watched, along with the best of them all - 24 Season Five. While PB Seasons 1 and 2 occasionally dragged as if they had to fill out 22 episodes within a constrained theme, in a strange way, the strike might actually have helped Season 3. Everything became pacier, plot twists coming quicker, and the pressure getting relentless. I watched the last ten of the 13 episodes in one go, and it was exhilarating stuff. Whereas I would give Seasons 1 and 2 about three stars, this one is an unqualified fiver.

Some did not play at all! I had this same problem as well as a good friend of mine with the Mad Men DVD Season 1. Please verify that you are not shipping damaged disc. I order quite regularly and this is becoming an issue.

[+] 10.0 Quite Possibly, the Best Half-Season Ever (no spoilers)
If you are into brutal action, seat-of-your-pants suspense, unexpected twists and turns every 5 or 10 minutes, get this set, block a couple of weekend nights and watch it. My wife and I couldn't stop watching. In fact, we gobbled up all 13 episodes over 2 nights and, when it was all over, we felt like we wanted more.

Michael is a different man in Season 3. Now, he is physically exhausted and emotionally drained, not sick but definitely tired. In Season 1, he generally knew what and whom he was facing; it was he who decided who were his friends, his allies, his enemies. He had studied their biographies and he was totally familiar with the environment and he knew exactly what to expect. He had a well-thought plan and he was implementing it. In 'Season 2' he was still following the plan but his control was slipping. By 'Season 3', he has to live with the consequences of his actions - people have died, people got hurt and more are dying and are getting hurt as the tale is told - and he is trying to make sense of his immediate environment (the prison) and those who are pulling the strings and seem to be in control (the Company). We see him tired, desperate, remorseful, doubting himself, sometimes unable or simply refusing to make sense of it all and yet hopeful, seeking some balance between the brutal world in which he has to survive and his desperate struggle to preserve his humanity.

This is the most testosterone-oozing, adrenalin-laced, action-packed TV show - and I could include 'movie' - I've seen in a long time and, possibly of all times. Think 'The Dirty Dozen' or 'The Great Escape' on steroids and uninhibited.

I am not going to give away any spoilers but, if you are going to watch this set, be prepared to for male bonding, explosive violence, brutality (they are not the same), torture (yes, waterboarding too), betrayal, barehanded fights to the death, stabbings, humiliation, sewer-level filth, desperation, blackmail, blood, mud, sweat, deception, mystery, misery, beheadings, execution-style killings, loyalty, fear, starvation, drug addiction, sweat, pain, just to name a few of the included attractions. You are NOT going to see: romantic kisses, bedroom scenes, shower scenes, sensitive metro-sexuals, preaching feminists, starry nights, fast cars, swimming pools or electronic gadgets.

Off the 4 women of this season we have one that's dead, a desperate prostitute, an absolute evil (but super-great looking) gargoyle and a naive but not exactly a shrinking violet, betrayed, girlfriend. I am not trying to even begin to portray 'the men'.

- The pluses - see above.
- The minuses - since we never 'watch TV', we are going to have to wait for one full year before we can lay our hands on 'season four'.

Disclaimer: I watched the Blu-ray release but, for this specific TV series, you should probably be okay with either the DVD or the Blu-ray. We have Seasons 1 and 3 in Blu and Season 2 in DVD. While it is true that the Blu visuals are better, this series is 90% about plot and action and you will be so immersed into it that you'll probably care little about 1080p or HD sound.

[+] 8.0 Story flaws compensated by superb acting and masterful suspense
I must confess. In order to get inside the Fox River Penitentiary I had to steal Season 1 on blu-ray from Amazon.com (at $40+"smuggling" I think it was a steal). The jury was anonymous: I was sentenced to 22 episodes of one of the best TV shows I have ever seen. During most of the sentence I was chained to my TV, deprived of sleep and frantically planned the escape for the crime I didn't commit.

Now, with two more terms behind me, including the equally gripping, "edge-of-my-sofa", Season 2 (rented on DVD) I can reflect on Season 3 as being a tad weaker then the first two. But fear not, the acting and plot is still superb!

The Season 3 is probably the bloodiest of all and you will be greeted with an ample amount of dead bodies. The action revolves around yet another escape from the "con-operated", "you fight or you die" prison SONA. From the onset and up to the very end the viewers are thrown into the cruel and merciless "every man (and woman) for himself" zone, which even creates a few cracks between Michael and Linc.

Unlike Season 1, where more often then not the prisoners had to stick together to complete the mission, in Season 3 all hell breaks loose and it serves the show beautifully, elevating it to another level. Some may not like this change but I found it quite appropriate and fresh. Unfortunately, there are quite a few weak spots in the story (I trust you will discover these by yourself), which make it somewhat less believable than Season 1 and 2.

The Season 3 starts kind of slow (the first 4 episodes or so) but then kicks into another gear and keeps you jumping out of your seat and begging for more. Needless to say, I want my Season 2 and 4 on blu-ray and I want it now!

[+] 8.0 Dragged out too long, but still suspenseful

SPOILERS!

Many of the episodes in this season seemed to drag on and on with many foiled plans, rain delays, and other obvious procrastination devices. It made Michael's breakout plan for Sona take a lot longer than it should have.
That said, there are still many suspenseful moments in this season, mostly involving the hostages and of course including the various prisoners and their would-be helpers on the outside. Former guard Bellick had a very rough time of it, while the cunning Teabag found ways to work the system from the inside. Scofield and Link put their collective heads together to formulate constantly-changing maneuvers, while Luchero made things tough for those inside Sona. And then there was the mysterious Whistler, a prisoner who was so valuable to a certain company that they would stop at nothing to get him out alive.
And did Sarah really die? Link thinks so, but what was really in that box? LJ says he heard her die, but he never saw it. This, of course, leaves Michael to go on a mission of his own at the end of the season, trying to get revenge or find out what really happened.

[+] 6.0 Nowhere near as good.
First off there are only 13 episodes in this pack which I did'nt realise until I had purchased and yet the price does not reflect this.

The show is still good although I would have expected it to be more gritty with the characters imprisoned in Panama.

3 stars overall.

[+] 4.0 Not at all what I expected.
I'll start by saying that Prison Break Season 1 is near perfect, one of my all time favorite Tv Series. Season 2 was really good, not as good as Season 1 but really good

Then came Season 3...
I couldn't wait to watch season 3, then as I began to watch the episodes my heart was broken and it was a complete let down.

Why you ask?, Well it seems that the writers ran out of ideas so they put MichaeL again in prison ( which is not that bad, hence the title Prison Break ). But this time you don't care about the other prisoners,as you did in Season 1 and 2, there's not chemistry between them.

His brother, Link, on the other hand is outside the prison and is too stupid to do anything right to try to solve the problem( let's call it that so I don't give much away), and when he almost solves the problem he does not have the b#$% to do it!!

On top of that,we never see some characters that we were hoping to see, and then learn that they were "removed" from the series.

My advice buy Season 1 and 2, they are just great!, and in the last chapter of season 2 change the end a little bit and you'll have the perfect series.

[+] 2.0 Too Much $$$ for Less
Remember when you watched cable and regular TV and there were less than 25% commercials? Do you now feel like all TV is now watching commercials and the movie is an advertisement to buy the DVD? If you buy ½ the episodes (shortage due to strike) for almost full price, why should the studios produce more than 13 episodes and charge the same price as last year. To be fair, using the same cost per episode as last year, the DVD should be under $20. The cost is the production of the program. DVDs are stamped out for around a buck no matter how full they are. I won't buy any ½ seasons. Don't feel sorry for the writers, actors and producers. They all made a good buck before there were DVDs. I'll tell my boss I will work ½ the time and expect the same pay.

[+] 6.0 Overpriced!!!
First off, not enough episodes for the price. I think they realize people want complete collections so they will pay anything. Not me.

You shouldnt either, this season lacked the edge of your seat cliffhangers as the first two seasons. too much time was spent trying to convince us how bad the prison was rather then concentratiting on characters and plots.

This is a show that would be hard to keep fresh and exciting. It's like a modern Gilligans Island. They should have quit after season 2. i'm sure season 4 will be the last.

[+] 10.0 It's Still a Good Season, thou it's short but still a 5 Stars for me
I am not dissapointed, the show still delivers, liked every character in the show, I just hope they would re-charged it on Season 4 to offset this season 3 being short(13 episodes). But over all, I'd still able to give 5 stars, the show is so addictive and this is the only show that makes me wanna see the next episode on and on until i've realized it's already 4 o'clock in the morning and I have to get in a few hours. I just can't wait for the better season 4 I hope.

[+] 6.0 What a shame
I first have to start by saying that I don't watch any episodes of any show on TV, I always wait for the DVD set to watch all of them at once. I was very close to buying this season until I saw the price of $32 for 13 episodes, so I decided to rent it first. Thank GOD it did, because it is SO NOT WORTH BUYING. Season 3 of Prison Break is such a letdown. I am actually happy that their are only 13 episodes in this season. I just don't see how they were gonna drag this stupid plot out for 22 episodes. I can only hope the show gets back on track in Season 4. I have to say I am a very big fan of seasons 1&2, so it pains me to tell you all NOT TO WASTE YOUR MONEY. Save yor $32 and open up an online movie service account. I have a feeling all of the DVD sets this season are going to be to overpriced. For me it's hard because I am one of those "crazy" people who like to own the shows I love, and to see all of the seasons on my shelf in order, so if I can restrain for buying Season 3 of Prison Break, so can you. The only way I will buy this season, is if it under $15.

[+] 6.0 Prison Break - The Third Season
The third season of Prison Break was good television but lacked the key element that existed in seasons one and two and that was Michael's connection to the people around him. In season three Michael is again jailed but with characters that neither he, nor the viewer, really care about. In addition, some characters (not those killed off in the second year of the series)are gone due to the actors' contract disputes and/or accepting spots in other series. Finally, the writer's strike left the series with only half a year and although there is some resolution, overall, it felt weak because it was never intended to be the season finale. Will I buy it? Yes, because it builds hopefully to a better fourth season but as a stand-alone year the third season lacks the plotting quality of seasons one and two.

I live about 15 miles east of Joliet Illinois, I only statred watching the show because it was filmed inside THEE prision. I thougt, how cool to be able to see local things on a national TV show. The Blues Brothers was filmed in the same prision. And my hometown, Frankfort IL made an apperance on Michaels credit card statemant on season 2. After watching one show, I was addicted. I could not get enough of it, and I fell in love with all the charters, I miss Sarah. If you have not seen the show start watching now, get caught up, you will not be disipointed. In closing, Wentworth Miller you are so beautifil.

[+] 10.0 Short but sweet
Prison Break season 3 starts off after what happened at the end of season 2.

Michael is in Sona, one of the hardest, toughest, prisons in the world. He was brought there by "The Company" to break someone else out of prison.

This season shows this from beginning to end. (I do not wish to spoil anything)

As far as seasons go, this one is good, 1 was great, 2 expanded on it in ways I didn't think were possible, and 3 sets us back to the core of the show. 3 has several new characters, and returning characters. Everyone in this show is great, near the end I think the writing got a bit shaky, one character in particular became QUITE one-dimensional, I hope season 4 takes things back, and gets stuff going forward.

Sadly, this show was still getting worked on during the writers strike, because of this we only have 13 episodes. But those 13 episodes shine, they shine really bright.

Each episode leaves you at the end dying to know what is going to happen next.

When this season was airing, because of the strike, I was unable to view the season in its entirety due to the schedule being moved around constantly, I was never able to keep track on the last few episodes.

I watched this season in 1 sitting, it is THAT good.

Even though I have previously seen the first few episodes of this season, it did not stop me from being completely engrossed and hooked on each and every episode. I noticed more stuff than I did the first time through when it aired.

This season is brutal, it does not let up. The show looks amazing, the flashbacks especially.

This show is much better than most movies, and well worth the time and price. I highly recommend this purchase.

Overall Rating - 5/5 Stars
Video - 5/5
Audio - 5/5
Bonus - 4/5
Story - 5/5

[+] 10.0 Action-packed season!
I enjoyed this third season more than the previous seasons. I found the acting and storyline much superior than previously. I like all the twists throughout the episodes, keeping one at the edge of his seat. Outguessing the plot can be difficult. This season is also action packed, with every episode offering non-stop action. The way all the characters come together is also fascinating and remarkable, and their motives are unknown. Even the temporary break between Michael and Lincoln over the death of ****** (removed as not to spoil the story) was unexpected.

The inmates inside Sona, the Panamanian prison from where Michael Scofield must escape, were very believable. His escape attempts were well conceived and believable as well. The Panamanian landscape offered an exotic touch to the storyline, different from the maximum-security prison at Fox River.

I really recommend this season, and can't wait for season four.

[+] 8.0 Another great season
In my opinion, Prison Break Season 1 was the best season of television ever. I do think the show should have stopped where they planned it to, at season 2 with the President clearing Lincoln, but it didn't. Instead we got Season 3.
I was initially skeptical that the writers wouldn't be able to pull off a second interesting break-out, but with the addition of some new characters and the intrigue surrounding the Company and it's employees, the show became fresh again. I'm looking forward to seeing how they explain away the infamous head in the box after Ep 3.
What's great about Season 3 is we see Michael acting on the fly. All of his plans are suddenly shot to the moon, and he's having to figure things out without his tattoos and without much help. Miller is brilliant, and Purcell gets better all the time. The supporting cast is equally solid, but the best addition is of course, Gretchen. WOW! She almost single-handedly keeps the show fresh.
Another thing you'll notice is that the writers already seem to have a little idea of where they're headed with the show's future. Look forward to some great action, and hopefully a brilliant end to the series, in season 4.

You won't be disapponted, great plot, great action, great acting. Superb suspense. This show is So addictive!!!.. Definetely a must see for good television series fans. I was resilient to watch it because of the jail story, thought it was going to be depressive...how mistaken I was, now I can't get enough... Please hurry with the release of season 4!!!! ...it's so hard to stop watching one episode after another, it makes your heart beat so fast!! be cautious if you have a heart condition...it is so intriguing and exciting. But you must watch every episode of the series from episode 1 ... keep in mind that all episodes are important.

[+] 10.0 Still the best show!
Every season of prison break has a new setting. Season 1 of course in Fox River, season 2 on the run, and season 3 in SONA. This season brought us the same great suspense and McGuyver like escapes and genious of Michael. And for those of you that are pissed Sarah died, she is coming back in Season 4! I read that, so don't worry. They need her so they can throw Michael a bone and take down The Company. I LOVE THIS SHOW!

[+] 6.0 What the F###!!!???? (spoilers, don't read if you haven't watched)
Okay, WOW... I don't know which is worse... the fact that they're charging for a FULL SEASON (a-la Season 1 & 2) while there's only 13 Episodes (thanks for Nothing "writers".... can't they get "scabs" like any other occupation would do!?)........ OR....... the fact that they made the most Disgusting, and HORRIBLE decision of the Series... when they KILLED OFF SARAH!!!??? Okay, I take it back... it's obvious which is worse... BRING BACK SARAH!!... Come on, we're willing to believe it was just a "look-a-like" or "FX" Sarah-Head in the basket!

Seriously though, what is the deal with the Writers & their HATRED of the leading ladies on this show!? (Veronica Donovan: season 1.... Sarah Tancreti: season 3 --- yes, I'm sure I've mispelled it --- who cares.) And they've "replaced" her now with the X-Lover of the CIA Agent (who isn't even a TENTH as hot as Stacy Keach, aka Sarah!).... and us "Guys" are suppose to drool over who, now??

All in all, even without the death of Sarah, season 3 wasn't nearly as good as 1 or 2. Much of it just wasn't at all plausible (Michael's daring feats inside the jail... getting the "supplies" to carry off said missions, etc. etc. --- SONA isn't Fox River... there's no Pharmacy, Chemical & What-Not Storage Rooms, etc. for him to break into (or buy from) in order to pull off his plans... most of them, totally on the fly!) I found myself asking the same question over & over... How can they expect... putting this delicately... the more Intellectual Viewers (especially those of us with Common Sense!)... to go along with his schemes & scams!? I don't know -- I was taken out of the action quite a bit just by the sheer nonsense of it sometimes; & thankfully I'm not alone in this feeling/opinion on those episodes.

Season 3 gets a 3, Star rating that is.... for lack of believeability, lack of episodes.... and especially for the Bone-Headed decision to kill Sarah! (to make it a real thriller & mystery... they could've simply removed her from the room where she & LJ were... kept the camera on LJ in the room... & then, BANG!, a gunshot...... is Sarah dead?... We're led to believe she is... especially when they provide a well made-up picture for the Brothers, head-wound & all (w/ FX Make-Up & Digital Imaging, etc.)...... but is she REALLY dead... no one knows..... then Michael, assuming she's dead... sets out on the same Revenge mission (aka, Season 3 Finale)... and at the end of Season 4, or 5, or even the End of the Series... SHE'S ALIVE!, they reunite (after killing his way to the truth, to find her)... and they live happily ever after.

See, I'm not a "Professional" writer; but I just gave them the scenario AMERICA would want to see happen.... and the Plot, Events prior & up to, didn't even have to change! But no, rather than be a little CREATIVE & IMAGINITIVE... they go with the simplistic, kill 'em all attitude. I realize this isn't Disney, and there are rarely "happy endings" in the real world.... but come on Writers, & Producers.... Sarah NOT dying is a scenario that should've been Fought LONG & HARD for! (and there's always the angle of the bad guys chopping off one of her fingers & saying, next time you screw with us - it'll be the whole arm.... but no... kill all the women) Well, I know I'll catch hell for saying this in the "comments"; but since Sarah died.... LJ should go too at some point... at least Stacy's acting never brought down a scene!

[+] 8.0 Back in the slammer
As the third season of Prison Break begins, Michael Scofield (Wentworth Miller) finds himself back in prison, only this time it's a down and dirty prison in Panama ruled by the tyrannical Lechero (The Wire's Robert Wisdom). Also sharing space with Michael are T-Bag (Robert Knepper), Bellick (Wade Williams), and Mahone (William Fichtner); while Linc (Dominic Purcell) works on the outside to get his brother free at any cost, with the assistance of a mysterious associate (Jodi Lyn O'Keefe) who has her own agenda. The third season of Prison Break manages to provide pretty much the same kinds of action, suspense, drama, and twists that fans of the series would come to expect by now; which adds up to this season being a success. However, falling victim to the writer's strike, the third season of Prison Break ends up feeling rushed and somewhat incomplete. At only 13 episodes, this is something to be expected, but it still comes off as noticeable nonetheless. Flaws aside, this is still great TV to be seen, and everyone in it is in fine form as well. All in all, the third season of Prison Break while flawed, is still enjoyable, and sets the stage for even bigger developments to follow.

[+] 10.0 PB gets better & better
Unfortunately there are only 13 episodes for Season 3.
The last episode 313 "The Art of the Deal" was not intended to be the season finale
but rather the fall finale
but due to the writers' strike of the 2007-2008 season
it became the season finale.

[+] 10.0 How Many Episodes In Season 3?
I have never seen this show on tv but about 6 months ago, I downloaded the pilot and my addiction took off from there. Since I was so behind with watching the episodes, I got most of the first season from Itunes before finally buying the dvd set. Seriously this show is so addicting that I had to pace myself so I wouldn't watch all of the episodes and then be left with nothing until the 3rd season comes on out dvd. I finished the second season on dvd about a month ago.

I am wondering how many episodes the third season will have since they had the writers strike. Does anyone know?

[+] 10.0 Best series ever
If you like the first two seasons of prison break, you will not be dissapointed with the season 3 dvd. In my opinion, this is one of the best, if not the best television series on tv to date. Like i said earlier, if you like the previous seasons of prison break, BUY THIS ONE. You will not be let down.

[+] 10.0 Read Reviews.. Prison Break=GOOD Amazon=BAD
This is my first review of anything on Amazon.. As far as I can remember.

This was rated 1 star by another user because Amazon did not keep upto date with the episodes.

The person did like the show, as I do, and many others...

5 stars for Prison Break, unrated for Amazon since I never used their service for tv shows..
