Pyrex Storage 10-Piece Set, Clear with Blue Lids

I bought this pyrex set on amazon because I couldn't find it in stores for such a great price. The sizes in this set are great for storing lunches for the next day. At work to got rid of the microwave and now only use a toaster oven. So this is a great convenient set to store and cook the food in.

These were great until I was cooking a casserole and it shattered all over the entire oven. I have never had a negative thing to say about pyrex but how do you explain this? I have only had these for two months and one shatters in the oven. I hope everyone else has a better experience with this product than I have!

The outer package was fine but when I opened the Pyrex box one of my bowls was broken.The outer box was not marked fragile.I was very disappointed.Guess thats what I get for odering something through the mail.lol.

It was shipped pretty quick. I have never used the rectangle ones but the round ones are perfect. You can feel the thicknes and solid when holding them. Moreover, the lids are BPA-free (safe for microwave). In short, they are very durable. It is definately a product if you want to use it for years.

They were 5 pieces and 2 of them arrived broken?????? What Happened????I really don't know.I didn't send them back because I don't live in USA.

I love the pyrex set, but I never received the one that I ordered over a month ago from ProMax Supply. I finally told them to just credit me back the total after they sent me a fire extinguisher instead of the pyrex set and then couldn't manage to send what I ordered. You're better off ordering from someone else...

I have a good collection of these dishes. These are solid performers for freezing food, reheating and I even use mine to take food (including soups!) to work for lunch. The lids are nice and tight on the round dishes (but not so much on the squares). A great alternative to plastic containers if you have concerns about reheating food in the microwave.

I also have a few of the rounds with tabs on the lids that can be flipped up to allow steam to escape when reheating food in the microwave. Amazon doesn't seem to have many of these. I bought them from [...] and they're great as well.

my order came quickly and in perfect condition. I was very surprised at the small sizes of the containers. I guess i should have checked out the actual sizes instead of just looking at the pictures. It was a good buy, but not exactly what i would have purchased if i would have seen the product in a store. The service was very good though. no complaints about that.

Love Pyrex food storage. It's a great option for those who want to get away from plastic containers which warp, stain, and possibly leach chemicals into the food after being reused and reheated over and over. None of those worries with Pyrex. Although, the dark blue lids MAY stain if you store red sauce up to the top and the containers aren't spill proof. Just don't tilt them. Or buy the newest line which has liquid proof snap seals. This is a great starter set as there are different sizes to choose from. I take the smallest containers with home cooked meals for lunch at work, and the bigger sizes are great for family sized servings or jello molds.

Excellent product at great price. Better than any other deal offered at superstores such as Wall Mart, Kohl, Target, Sears, Ross etc ....

I really like this set, especially because there are lids and I don't need to use saran wrap or anything else.

I bought 2 of these Pyrex sets for leftovers. I gave one to my daughter and we prefer using these to the toxic plastic. They are great for serving as well as leftovers.

two larger ones are good for lunch and dinner, but the other small three ... I have no idea what I could do with them
anyway, I think glasses are good for microwave, that is what I want to replace those plastic boxes

With all the talk about using plastics in microwaves, I bought these and I'm very happy with them. No need to worry about tomato stains, cheese melting the container, etc. I still use plastic, but not for anything that will be heated in the microwave.
Well worth the investment.

Love these and plan to buy more in different sizes. I'm trying to get away from plastic as much as possible. I thought with these being heavy glass, I might like using them less than my plastic storage containers but I was wrong. I much prefer to use these and the extra weight of glass is not as big of an issue as I thought it would be.

For the price you are paying, you just can't complain. They are decent quality glass containers. The only thing that you need to be careful is DO NOT put lids in the dishwasher even the instructions said it's okay. The lids shrink a bit after i washed them in the dishwasher. love the idea of not using plastic for storage and heating up leftovers. I did just get this and so far great! I do have some bowls in the freezer and will see if keeps them with out all the crystals. I gave it only 4 stars as I have not had them very long.

And before I ordered .... I checked the description that states CLEARLY what size bowls I would receiving ... [2] 2-cup round, [1] 3-1/2-cup rectangular, [1] 4-cup round, & [1] 6-cup rectangular storage containers; [5] blue plastic lids. They're not huge but that's EXACTLY what I wanted to get away from those CHEAP Glad & Ziploc PLASTIC containers that I would to microwave in too! NOT SAFE. And these are more durable and PERFECTLY sized for small portions 2-6cups! And remember 2 cups = 16oz; 3.5 cups = 28 oz; 6 cups = 48oz! Not huge but they don't take up a lot of space either! My only disappointment is that anytime I make JELLO .. regardless if the lid is on, it always leaks a little! Maybe because the lid is a wee bit HARD to get on ... so the liquid shakes around before I tighten it! Not sure but it's irriting regardless. Oh and 2 weeks ago, this set was $13.49 and sold directly by AMAZON.COM and free ship on orders over $25. In fact, if this is being sold by Target $21.49 with $9.40 S&H, click on the MORE buying choices (the NEW & USED area) in this listing to get the AMAZON price $14.99 and free ship! These dishes are extremely small and are only made for carrying leftovers to work for lunch. The size was so disappointing when we opened it - we actually started laughing and immediately said "white elephant gift". Also, the lids are also hard plastic and difficult to get on. I have Pyrex bowls with softer plastic lids from about 6 years about - which I absolutely love - and apparently other people did too because some of them have disappeared over time. We bought these new ones to replace the ones that have vanished and because we wanted something to cook a dish in, cover, and take to dinner parties - these are way too small for that. I'm sure we'll end up using these new ones, but in different way then we intended. Overall, I would definitely hesitate to buy Pyrex again because of the lids.

I am satisfied with this purchase. The containers are good size...and were delivered with no issues.

When I bought these I felt they would be useful.

But I won't be using them for baking and I won't be buying any more. No more Corelle, no more CorningWare, no more Pyrex. No more Anchoring Hocking, either, for that matter.

I am not usually militant about a product--I normally feel of course companies will try to make the most money they can and consumers should try to do their homework and make good choices.

But I am highly upset that the company has not addressed a very widespread problem with their products exploding when heated. Some people have experienced injuries, yet somehow, the company has gotten away with not recalling any products. They have simply added to their warning label in an attempt to cover themselves.

For this reason, I won't be buying any more from a company that is willing to take the customers' money but doesn't seem to care at all that they are selling a dangerous product.

I was very disappointed with the size of this set. They look much bigger than they really are. They are definitely not large enough to bake anything in.

Good containers but tiny.

After using these I'd never want to touch plastic boxes again. Decently made and easy to clean. Perfect size for lunch. Yeah for 13.49 it could not be better.

I got the "Pyrex Storage 10-Piece Set, Clear with Blue Lids" at a great price ($13.49 & and free super saver shipping). These containers are small to midsize (2 cup to 6 cup) so you may need to order an additional bigger container.
Works great in the fridge, microwave, lunchbox. Much safer than plastic containers for food.

I want to stop using plastic storage because I often ended up reheating my food at work on the microwave. I am concerned about the chemical reaction of the plastic with my food. The pyrex set is much better in that aspect. It also never stains with lasagna or spaghetti sauce, which is more difficult to clean on plastic containers. The set I received have lids that fit perfectly snug.

If you want to use it as a storage, you do not have to open the lid to see what is inside it. The glass is clear and you can see the food well unlike plastic.

The only thing I dislike is that now my lunch carry-on will be: 1) much heavier than it used to, and 2) it is breakable as opposed to plastics than I can toss freely on the sink.

My husband reheated some spaghetti w/ chili in a Pyrex storage container today. He placed it in the microwave w/o problem. He removed it and began eating. About 3-4 minutes later, the bowl exploded. Luckily nobody got hurt, but there was a loud pop and some flying glass. I replaced all of my plastic storage containers with Pyrex due to concerns about reheating plastic in a microwave. Now, I feel like I need to find a new solution. If you do a little research, you'll find that there have been many cases of exploding Pyrex. I know I'm no longer comfortable using it.

A young family needs lots of food storage. These are sturdy and will last a long time.

What can I say? My wife loves it and she is very picky about kitchen stuffs.

I ordered these b/c I'm wanting to phase out all of the plastic Tupperware/Ziplock containers that are cheap and put off toxic material when frozen or microwaved. This set is a nice combination of sizes........so I ordered two sets. Hopefully, we're on our way to healthier food storage!

I love pyrex containers! They are so durable AND because they're glass, they don't stain or hold odors like plastic containers do. My only complaint about this set is the size. Some of the sizes are sizes that I wouldn't typically use, BUT I can certainly find a use for them, because they're pyrex!

Pyrex does not make the quality product they used to make. The plastic lids are VERY stiff and VERY difficult to put on the glass bowls and sometimes they even split. They used to be a softer plastic and would stretch when placed over the bowl. Unfortunately, they are probably having their products made in China now. They need to bring their factory back to the US and make the quality product they used to make.

The product was not what I expected. The pans are alot smaller then I anticipated. These are not for making meals in the oven and covering for leftovers as I had hoped. These are more useful as travl containers for small lunches (sandwiches) if that is what you are looking for these would be great, but not what I was looking for, very small

As expected from Pyrex brand, the containers are good and sturdy, and of course being glass, no food stains or worries about plastic causing health issues. The 3 larger sizes of the 5 are great for leftovers, though the two smaller pieces are limiting in storage. They're great for sauces or just a cup or two of leftover rice.

I did find that the circular lids had more trouble fitting over the container, but once you get them on (and stretched out a bit) it goes on a bit easier. And of course the tight fit is great to ensure there won't be any spilling.

This is a wonderful storage set. I take my food to work in these containers now, and feel much better about re-heating my food. Plus, you can bake in these, too - just be sure to let the glass cool. The circular lids were a little difficult to get on at first, but after the first use and wash, they snap on no problem (I think the plastic relaxes a bit). All in all a great buy!

Although accurate the stated 10 pieces is a bit deceiving since it includes the lids.

I liked the set, but the exact size description would have helped while we are browsing to buy the items.
The description with size of individual dishes would be great,

I was disappointed with the size of the dishes as they are very small and not as we imagined.

This set of remarkably durable Pyrex storage containers impresses me. These have come in rather handy, especially now that I am bringing food back and forth to someone who is not feeling very well as they receive chemotherapy. They are indeed made of strong glass that just plain feels tough and strong; when they say it won't break Pyrex means it! I also like that you can see through the glass containers to know what's inside them.

Another good feature is that you get several different sizes with this package of Pyrex containers. Just as they say, you get ten storage containers of different sizes along with blue plastic lids. They can be used in the microwave, the refrigerator and the freezer; they will also be safe in the dishwasher although I sometimes "pre-wash" them myself in the sink.

There are a couple of cautionary notes about the lids. Some other reviewers commented that the blue plastic lids can either warp over time or eventually become too stretched to cover the containers properly--and they are right. In addition, the lids will not look or feel as sturdy as the Pyrex containers themselves--that's no real surprise since the lids are plastic and the Pyrex itself is far stronger than plastic. If you can get your hands on some extra plastic lids, keep them on hand for the inevitable day when the blue plastic lids in this set start to wear out.

Overall, I don't have any major complaints about this Pyrex 10 piece food storage set although the blue plastic lids will wear out after two or three years, maybe four. The lids on my set lasted three years. Get these and use them with confidence--but keep a few extra lids on hand.

I've had an assortment of clear Pyrex since I started stocking my own kitchen years ago. I use them for baking and cooking. I finally decided it was time to upgrade to the new set - new sizes and they now come with lids. Brilliant! Perfect for storing leftovers, freezing make-ahead meals and taking dishes to pot-luck, tailgates, bbq's, etc. You can't go wrong with Pyrex.

Good utility set to have in kitchen. Smaller one's can be carried to work for lunch too.

I feel much safer using glass storage containers over the plastic ones most people usually use. I really encourage everyone to make this purchase!!

Trying to switch from plastic containers in the kitchen. This is perfect for storing hot food. A good mix of sizes too.

The only problem I have is the lid for the bigger bowl was warped too much to get it on.

This 10 piece set is no longer sold though Amazon. Just wanted to let you know since I had problems with both 10 piece sets I ordered at the same time.
I bought these sets because I was tired of my huge collection of plastic storage containers. I wanted to use them for freezer to oven/microwave use. Unfortunately, all of the lids on the round containers did not fit. I was not able to even force on a single one of the round lids. The rectangular lids are fine and tight. Pyrex will not help take care of the problem, so Amazon customer service, after several emails back and forth,is taking care of it.
I read the reviews for this item, and for other sets in this line, and though the problem with the lids was mentioned, it seemed to be in a small minority. Until I get replacements, the round containers make nice soup bowls!
When I use the items to freeze portions, there is little frost when freezing for up to 2 weeks. I usually wrap the containers in plastic for longer storage. Defrost overnight in the fridge, then reheat in oven or microwave. The glass containers perform great, with nice uniform heating. Just a warning-microwaving is often quicker than you might think, and the container is very hot.
When storing same size pieces, I must put paper towels in between, because by nesting, the containers tend to get stuck together. If you are not strapped for space, separating sizes shouldn't be a problem.

I love this set! The glass is nice and thick, I don't think it would break very easy. I have put them in the dishwasher, plastic lids and all and they do great. They are so handy for food storage in the refrigerator, I use the rectangle containers for sliced deli meats, and the round for ones various foods including storing a partly sliced onion or tomato in the smaller round containers. My son that that was pretty neat, LOL. I bought this set for $14.99 and hope to find them on sale again, because I REALLY want another set. I gave 5 stars because one of the rectangle lids fits a little loose, but all the others fit good and tight!

i ordered a couple of these sets because i often cook large batches of food then freeze. the greatest thing about that is that you can put the same container in the micowave or oven later. they are super tough. last week i was washing two 2 cup bowls in the sink. i dropped one onto the other really hard and there wasn't even a scratch! the lids fit very snugly.

You know you shouldn't be microwaving that plastic Gladware container full of chemicals that leach, so why are you? Enter Pyrex. They're solid glass, smooth on the bottom, and the tops are soft but sturdy plastic. Easy to reheat and store leftovers in, they come in a variety of useful sizes. Stir frys and large one pot meals go in the big one, and a small batch of fresh salad dressing goes in a small one. The large bowl is perfect to take salad to work in. They can even be used in the oven!

I've had the set at least 6 months, they show no discernible signs of wear and tear. Perhaps those who commented that they leaked have an old dishwasher or an undiagnosed problem with hard water that is harsh on everything. I hand wash mine, but my (future) mother-in-law's are years old and look just like mine.

When I received my pyrex storage containers, I tried without success to get all of the lids on their matching containers. Two containers where impossible to cover with their corresponding lids. Several family members tried as well and they were unsuccesful. It is so disappointing to receive a product that obviously does not have quality control. Another minor complaint is that this is listed as a 10 piece set. If customers are in a hurry when ordering, they may not realize that they are counting the lids as part of the set thinking the order includes 10 containers.

Pyrex is no longer made of borosilicate glass, which is safe for freezer to oven use. it is now made in asia of lime silicate glass. Not as durable. Many consumer problems with it. Buy borosilicate bakeware. I'm sure this stuff is fine for storage, but not for the microwave or oven. It can fail unexpectedly due to micro-cracks, causing ruined dinner, messes, and even burns and cuts. Beware inferior products. Search for borosilcate bakeware, it is what lab equipment is still made of, just like pyrex used to be.

The bowls arrived in a Pyrex cartoon and were very well packed.

The bowls themselves are very small and IMO can be used to serve two adults max for one meal.
