Razor E100 Electric Scooter

I bought this item a year ago, for my 10 year old son. He loves it, and we've never had any problems with it.

My seven-year old son greatly enjoys riding this scooter. Everything is good except for the recharge time. We have to leave it up to charge the entire nite.

I got this for my son and he rode it non-stop for 2 days before it broke. The motor would not engage, so I called Razor and they sent me a replacement part. After a week of waiting and 2 hours on the phone with tech support, I installed a complete new electrical system. Turned it on, still did not work! Razor said they could send me another part to install myself, but did not guarantee that it would make it work either. So, I decided to save the time and trouble and returned it for a non-electric kid powered scooter and we are much happier with it. For us, the electric version was way too much time and trouble.

Here's my experience with this scooter: I bought it for my 8 yo daughter. It worked for exactly 1 minute and then the motor wouldn't turn anymore. The box says "Don't return to the store. Call the manufacturer and we'll take care of you". So I called Razor. The customer service lady had me go through the motion of "troubleshooting" the problem. She concluded "It's very common, the battery died because these things sit on the shelf too long, I'll send you new batteries." Two weeks later, the batteries arrived. It was not a trivial task to replace them. You have to disassemble the entire deck of the scooter and induced wear and tear on the screws and mounts. Charged it back up and guess what - NO GO. Called Razor for the second time. The customer service lady had me go through the motion of "troubleshooting" the problem. She now concluded "Oh, it's the wiring assembly to the batteries that's faulty. I will send you a new wiring kit." Two weeks later, the kit arrived. The same painful procedure to disassemble the scooter and install the wiring kit. More wear and tear on the screws. Charged it back up and guess what - NO GO. Called Razor for the third time. The customer service lady had me go through the motion of "troubleshooting" the problem. She now concluded "Oh, it's the fuse assembly that's faulty. I will send you a new one." Two weeks later, the fuse arrived. The same painful procedure to disassemble the scooter and install the fuse. More wear and tear on the screws. Charged it back up and guess what - NO GO. Called Razor for the fourth time. The customer service lady had me go through the motion of "troubleshooting" the problem. She now concluded "Oh, it must be the battery charger. I will send you a new one." Two weeks later, the new charger arrived. Charged it back up and guess what - NO GO. By now, I was convinced that the motor is fried and there's no fixing that. Called Razor for the fifth time. The customer service lady had me go through the motion of "troubleshooting" the problem. She now got all upset like it's my problem that nothing has worked. She suggested I take it to a lawn & garden shop to have a technician "look at it" at my expense. So here's the moral of the story: Razor will play the "parts game" with you to death until your return deadline with Amazon runs out. So, if your scooter doesn't work, send it back to Amazon ASAP. Do not pass GO and absolutely do not call Razor or your're SCREWED!!!

This scooter is great. My daughter got it for her 8th birthday. I almost bought a slightly faster model, and I'm glad I didn't. The E100 is plenty fast enough for an 8 year old. She loves it!! We've had no trouble whatsoever with the battery. I'd heard that it helps to fully discharge it from time to time, so we do. She rides it during the day, we plug it in at night, presto. Only once has the battery run out before she was done riding. I highly recommend this really fun scooter!

It is a great scooter for a 9 year old. Wish there was some way to tell when the battery needs to be charged when she and her friends are using it.

this scooter is pretty good. i rode it two miles without stopping on paved road and it worked all the way. Yet my younger siblings left it on while i was gone and now the battery doesnt work really good any more and doesnt go as fast or ride as long either. It was very good before though. the only problem is that if you leave it on while not in use. it makes it suck. Over all it was a good scooter :)

Before this scooter we had a great 5 star scooter that lasted about 15 rides and then it died. The company went out of business, couldn't get the part & had to throw it away. We never thought we would find one that compared in quality (minus the fact that it quit working). This one comes close. It's pretty fast, very sturdy and has kept a good charge. If I had any complaint it's that the bottom underneath of the scooter sits so close to the ground that she has to pick it up to go down any slight drop off or it rubs the underneath. Other than that we are very happy with this scooter!

my 8 year old saved up his own birthday money for this scooter. He only got to ride it 3 times before the on/off switch fell off. It was a pain to order the parts through the Razor company. I felt they should have accepted a return of such a poorly made product. Its been 2 months and it is not yet fixed!!! My son is sooo sad he hasn't been able to play with it!! I would not recommened this scooter to anyone.

I bought a razor 100 believing that the handlebars were adjustable or were telescoping. I believed this from the pictures and vidoes I viewed on the listing and product information for the e-100 scooter at Amazon.com. There was even a detailed feature diagram on the adverstisement indicating the adjust lever for the telescoping handlebars. When I recieved the scooter the handle bars were not telescopic as I was led to believe. So beware that you might not be getting the scooter with the features you thought it would have.
The plus side to this was when I contacted amazon.com they were cooperative and handled the situation with several options for rectification for me to choose from. Their customer service was easy and efficient.

This was my daughters b-day gift for her 10th. We had it delivered to Florida to my in-laws so it would be there for our winter vacation. It was perfect. Here eyes lit up at the unexpected surprise. She donned the pink safety helmet we bought to go with it then took off like a shot!

The product is very sturdy and keeps a good charge. As a mother, I like that it doesn't go "too fast". I do wish the handle bars were adjustable enough to be pulled up a bit as she is tall for her age. However, my daughter doesn't seem to complain about it.

I think Razor has good product and I would recommend it! PS. Get the helmet too... it makes a parent feel better!!

The razor is everything and more for my 8-year old son. Easy to assemble and very durable. My son and his best friend have ridden it quite a bit since Christmas, when we bought it. It holds its charge for at least 2 hours if not longer. Had one little issue initially with some rocks getting into the chain and jamming, but was easy to repair and have not had another issue since. I wish they had one for 200 lbs men to ride!

I purchased this for my 10 yr old daughter. I was impressed with how easy it was to assemble. The only thing that was an issue- having to wait the 18 hours for the battery to charge before using.

After charging (next day)- she has had a blast with it. She wears a helmet while riding it because it actuals goes around 10-12mph. That is quicker than you think when standing on a skatebaord sized platform.

The charge lasts about 30-45 minutes of continuous use. She weighs 70 pounds. The maximum weight for this scooter is 125 pounds.

WE (she) loves it. A great gift. But child must be responsible or you can get hurt.

This Product was lost in transit to the destination, and beacuse of that i have to report it and amazon send a new one, but i lost a lot of time waiting for the product....

bought for my 7 yo son, he is learning to balance. actualy, he is learning on the smaller, non electric ones, the speed of this one when it takes off is more than a beginner can handle. but in a few weeks, i think he will really like it.

We bought this scooter for our 7 year old daughter. We were a little leary because 1) we had just removed her training wheels from her bike (probably long overdue) but she was still wobbly 2)It is hard to buy an item online without seeing it first. I mean, that's why your reading right?

Low and behold both of these fears were unnecessary. Yes she was a little wobbly when she first started out but she zooms up and down our steet now and she looks so cute. It is a very stable scooters.

The scooter is really nice quality for what it is. It is solid in looks and feel and certainly appears durable. Time will tell but I am confident it will last. It comes packaged very well and assembles easily. All that is required is to insert the handle bars into the main frame. The battery is charged and ready to go. It says recharges take 12 hours but the light is green on the charger within 5-6.

Don't hesitate to buy this if you are in the appropriate age and speed range.

This one was given to my child by Santa. It has been the most used gift since x-mas. He loves it! The scooter is of high quality and truly runs for about 7 miles on a charge. Charges in between are of 12 hours. The little scooter goes about 10 mph. and when used with a helmet and proper body protection it is quite safe. The acceleration is quick and it brakes well. The only minus is that the motor is kind of noisy. The big plus is the assembly time which is about 2 minutes. All you have to put together is the handlebars. I recommend this scooter. A+

My daughter is 8 years old and absolutely loves her scooter. She scooters through our home, outside and even gives her friends a lift. She rides her scooter before school in the morning and right after getting off her school bus in the afternoon.

came quickly in the mail. the chain guard broke off very quickly though, within a few days. but i think it was because my daughter was using it to go from a sidewalk onto the road or vice versus. if there is any little bump at all the bottom of the scooter and the chain guard could hit the road and break off.

This was the perfect gift for my 7 year old son. He loves it. It's easy to drive and only goes 10 mph which is perfect for him. I highly recommend this electric scooter. He's having a blast on it.

Wow so I got this Scooter as a deal off amazon that was going to be used as a present for my nephew (8 years old). But when the package showed up I had to give it a try before I just gave it away. Man this was a really cool gift, not only did I enjoy riding it around but so did my college buddys. I would highly recommend buying this scooter.

I was fortunate enough to get this scooter through Amazon's promotional deal for $29. You can't beat that price. It didn't take long to charge. My kids are 11, 7 & 4 and they all love it. Heck I even ride it. It has nice pick up and go. We keep ours plugged up when it is not in use.

I wasn't going to splurge on an electric scooter until I found this one w/ free shipping and a good price at the time. I love the bright pink color and my 8 yo daughter has been very happy with it. She's ridden it daily -- quite often -- and has been very good about parking it and plugging the charger in by herself. It's had plenty of "juice" to go as fast as she needs to go, but I've also been pleased to see her use her legs to push to go faster sometimes because she's getting some exercise without really even knowing it. :)

Good idea, good product, could use a longer lasting charge. Spends most of the time BEING charged, but my six-year old enjoys it while it lasts.

I got this scooter for my two girls--10 and 14. It seems more suited to the 10-year-old, but they both enjoyed it. It goes pretty fast, but not too fast. It needs to be charged each night after a full day's worth of play, but worth the money.

Gave this to my daughter for Christmas 2007. It was easy to assemble, and we pre-charged it overnight prior to the big day. She absolutely loves it, and I have a feeling the neighborhood kids will be receiving these soon as well -- they line up to take turns.
Great battery life, an overnight charge gives it enough power to go for an extended period of time -- usually a single charge will last all day assuming sporadic periods of riding.
It goes up to 10MPH. I was initially concerned about my 7-year-old riding this in the name of safety, but after ten minutes she went from trepidation to mastery. Make sure your kids wear helmets, of course.
No complaints, it's a great product (so far) for the price, highly recommended.

my 9-year old has wished for an electric scooter for christmas for the past three years. santa finally bought her this one. she loves that it's pink and fast (but not too fast to be dangerous). i love that it's super quiet and has a rechargable battery. great product!

My 6 yr old grandson just loves this. He will be 7 in January. He already knew how to ride it because he had ridden his friend's Razor 250 in the past. It was very easy to put together also. We put Harley Davidson stickers on it to customize it and peeled off the Razor labels. We also added a bell/ringer and a headlight. We charged it on Christmas Eve and he was ready to ride when he arrived on Christmas morning. He rode for about 2 hours and it still wanted to keep running. Yes, I would recommend this electric scooter. I bought it on Amazon about 2 months ago so I only paid about $84.00.

I would recommend this product to others. It charges quickly and lasts a long time. I purchased it for my seven year old and he absolutely loves it. You couldn't beat the quality for the price. Also Amazon did a fantastic job of handling my order and shipping it extremely fast. They also had the lowest prices.

The product was brand new and in a box as advertised. Giving as a Christmas gift, so have not tested, but did open the box and look inside. Fast shipping.

We purchased this scooter for my daughter's 8th birthday and it was by far her favorite gift. The key is to assemble it (takes about 15 minutes) and then charge the battery (takes 12 hours the first time) so that when they get the gift, they can actually use it. The only reason I didn't rate this five stars is because when she's riding it, there's sometimes a strange rattling sound coming from underneath close to the battery compartment (doesn't sound like a normal hum of the scooter) and I'm hoping it has nothing to do with the long-term function of the scooter.

This is a cool little scooter. All you have to do to assemble is screw in the handle bar to the fork with an Allen wrench (provided), charge it over night and you're ready to go.

The only negative I have is that the chain cover on the rear wheel sits pretty low to the ground (less than an inch) so it hits the ground when turning right. But still a lot of fun for side walk cruising and runs to the corner store.

My son loved this at first.. Slowly the handle 'screw' started loosening. (Couple of months of use) He would stop and tighten. One time he is going down a hill, and the handle comes off, he tumbles- nasty scrape on arm, he won't get on the thing anymore. Not sure if others experienced this, but parents be aware and watchful.

I just ordered a couple of these for my boys for Christmas. I just
wanted to warn that these toys are not hidden in a box and the
identity of the toy is apparent on the box, in case your child
is at home upon delivery and you don't want him to see it!

My 7 year old daughter used all her savings from the last 2 years to buy this scooter and with a big surprise to me it is alot better than I expected it to be. The only problem that we have encountered so far, while it really isn't a huge problem, is that when making a right turn the chain guard bottoms out. Other than that this is a great scooter for this age group.

We purchased this scooter for a birthday present. When it came out of the box it worked great. The next day it was charged but would not run. We contacted the manufacturer as instructed and they said they would send a part. One month later we received the wrong part. We are still waiting two months later for a replacement part to arrive. Horrible experience for my daughter. She loved it for the brief day she was able to ride it.

My advice if you buy this thing - return it to Amazon within the 30 days if it doesn't work - otherwise you are screwed.

our daughter saved for months to buy her self this electric scooter. she took very good care of it, and a week and a half after she rcvd. it the moter or something froze up. we now need to take it to Middleton where I am told they will fix it for free, but who has the time to run out to where ever Middleton is. So she loved it for a weekand a half and has been without since about the second week in august.

I bought this for my 8 year-old son and he absolutely loves it. He goes a bit faster than I would like him to, but he really enjoys it. This one 'kick starts' and I definitely prefer this with a child his age. Now I just need to keep his father off it!!

We purchased this after seeing many children riding around an RV Park we frequent. The charge holds up much longer than the 40 minutes advertised and it is rugged enough to withstand a young boy. It is easy for him to start and stop and charge up all on his own.

My son LOVES his new electric scooter! It is very easy for him to operate and it doesn't go too fast, he uses it every day. At first we thought it was defective because after charging it, it didn't seem like it was working. If you read the directions, you will see that you need to kick off a few times and start it while it is in motion. That turned out to be a nice safety feature because our 3 year old keeps hopping on it and trying to start it.

Another nice surprise was that we got the free shipping so it wasn't supposed to arrive for several days but it arrived in less than a week!

This is super product, much loved by my son. That said, we found we needed to read ALL the instructions since the product needs to be reset occasionally otherwise it does not charge - leaving you with a very disappointed kid.

Our son has used his E100 for almost a year now, got it for his 7th birthday. He rides it a while almost every day on the street in front of our home, no long treks. It's been reliable and performs as advertised. I would guess that our son goes about as fast as someone running fast (running, not jogging), sometimes faster going downhill. The brake is a bit weak but not bad. At age 7, our son has behaved safely with it, stops and waits off the road if a car comes and no crazy stunts, so I would say it is suitable for his age, but obviously every kid has different maturity levels so parents have to judge on their own. Lots of fun, impresses his friends, and reliable.

The chain guard keeps hitting the ground when you turn right... it is a little annoying! Other that that it is a fast little scooter!
