Touch of Color

Touch of ColorSamsung’s Series 6 marks the first appearance of TOC (Touch of Color) design in the 2008 LCD HDTV line-up. Inspired by designs from the automotive and fashion industries, Samsung’s unique unique Transparent and Opaque Color molding process creates a clean, smooth finish infused with a hint of a translucent color during the manufacturing process for an ultra-sleek appearance.Touch of Color

InfoLink

Touch of ColorUp-to-the-minute access to weather, news, sports and stock information is just a cable and a click away through the HDTV’s Ethernet port and new InfoLink RSS service. An all-new user interface with digital contents management guide provides intuitive navigation and access to both internal and external content.

Auto Motion Plus 120Hz

auto motion plus 120HzThis technology doubles the frame rate from 60 to 120 frames per second (120Hz LCD panel) without repeating the same image to make more frames. Instead, the TV intelligently calculates the ‘middle’ image between frame A and frame B and inserts it in between (Auto Motion Plus 120Hz processor), making a fluid transition from one frame to the next.

Super Clear Panel

clear panel chart
Samsung enhances the clarity of select LCD HDTVs by replacing the light-diffusing plastic face of traditional LCD HDTVs with a  natural black panel with a clear anti-glare shield. Reduced reflection of external light creates a new dimension in image clarity, highlighting black and darkened areas, enabling vibrant, more compelling colors and a brighter, clearer picture.  Black will never again appear grayish. Black details will show in vivid black even in dark scenes.

The latest version of Samsung’s breakthrough super clear panel technology makes colors appear more vibrant and blacks even deeper than ever. Enhanced films reduce glare and optimize off-angle viewing.

25,000:1 dynamic contrast ratio50,000:1 Dynamic Contrast Ratio will give you a picture better than you ever thought possible, with whiter whites, blacker blacks and a nearly infinite subtlety of gradations in between. As two of the most important determining factors in overall picture quality, contrast and brightness levels achieve new heights in this latest generation LCD panel. Samsung’s new LCD TV’s give the most stunning realistic picture quality ever.

Full HD 1080P

Samsung’s 1080p panel uses a new high-speed liquid crystal to cut response time to 4ms. The fast response time, coupled with Samsung’s Auto Motion Plus 120Hz motion blur reduction technology dramatically reduces motion blur and judder.

Wide Color Enhancer/Cold Cathode Flourescent Lamp

The NTSC (National Television Systems Committee) has established the color standards all TVs in America try to meet. And typical LCD TVs only meet about 72% of this standard. Samsung LCD HDTVs use Cold Cathode Fluorescent Lamp backlights to give you 92% coverage of the NTSC standard, ensuring truer, more breathlessly vivid colors.

Samsung’s exclusive Wide Color Enhancer technology delivers more brilliant colors, even in bright areas of the picture where blues and greens are washed out on conventional screens. The system displays wider color reproduction, showing you truer colors – the fresh green of spring foliage, the intense blue of the summer sky.

Once connected, users can easily access device menus and manage and display content through the newly redesigned Wheel Key Remote control and the HDTV’s sophisticated content management interface.

Digital Living Network Alliance (DLNA)

DLNA logo

dlna daisy chain
You already know something about digital living. There’s the TV and digital video recorder in your family room. (And another set in your bedroom.) You have a PC and digital printer in your office, along with a network attached storage device. And you’ve copied all your music onto your portable music player and haven’t had to open a CD case for years. But getting them to talk to each other can be pretty tough. Why is it still so difficult to send digital content from one device to another?

Digital Living Network Alliance (DLNA) is a collaboration of the world’s leading consumer electronics, PC and mobile companies that has created design guidelines for a new generation of products that can work together — no matter the brand.

Think for a moment about all of the photos "locked away" on your home PC that you wish you could access while entertaining your friends and family. Now, thanks to DLNA enabled devices, a DLNA-enabled PC can be accessed from the comfort of your living room or family room via a DLNA-enabled HDTV, where you can enjoy your memories with friends and family, without having to deal with the hassle and non-intuitive "PCexperience".

Or, say you recently downloaded your daughter’s birthday party video from your digital camcorder to your PC. Now you want to share it with your parents who are visiting. Without DLNA, you probably have to burn a DVD of the video or hook up the camcorder to the TV. With DLNA, you can just use your TV’s remote to call up the video on your TV. That’s it.

Super Patterned Vertical Alignment

Audio Features

TruSurround is a patented SRS technology that solves the problem of playing 5.1 multichannel content over two speakers. TruSurround delivers a compelling, virtual surround sound experience through any two-speaker playback system, including internal television speakers and headphones. It is fully compatible with all multichannel formats up to 5.1 channels. High-quality virtual surround sound can be experienced with just the two hidden, downward-firing side-mounted 2.2-channel dome speakers built into the TV.

SRS TruSurround XT technology delivers an amazing, simulated 3D effect with clear dialog and powerful bass.

TruSurround XT audio also adds three audio enhancement technologies to produce an amazingly immersive sound experience.
  • Dialog Clarity brings movie dialog into Focus during the playback of any surround-encoded material to make speech much clearer and crisper.
  • TruBass creates incredible deep rich bass allowing a person to perceive significantly deeper, richer low bass tones that are far beyond the physical low frequency capabilities of the speaker itself.
  • The SRS WOW feature widens the soundstage by processing standard two-channel stereo material as well as multi-channel encoded material for a dramatic improvement in the playback of any stereo audio over a two-speaker system.
Stereo broadcast reception is offered for MTS and SAP with 181-channel capacity. A sound leveler keeps audio volume consistent during channel changing.

Which Size HDTV is Right for My Room?

HDTV Size chart
With standard-definition TVs, the rule used to be that viewers would feel comfortable watching a set from a distance of 3 to 6 times the screen size in inches. With HDTV, the resolution is so much better that you can sit closer to a larger TV without noticing the pixels. So with HDTVs, the rule tends to be you can sit anywhere from 1.5 to 3 times the screen size (in inches) for the best experience.
If you know the size of the room you have already, where you want to sit, and where your new HDTV should go once you get it, you can figure out the size HDTV you should get.
    • Minimum size = Viewing distance/3
    • Maximum size=Viewing distance/1.5

Samsung LN46A750 46-Inch 1080p DLNA LCD HDTV with RED Touch of ColorIpurchased the 46-750 thru amazon on sunday night, oct. 19. Was notified it would arrive one week later, but was surprised that it arrived in only three days, shipped by CEVA. Took a few minutes to set up, and I have been really impressed with the quality of the shipping and the tv. The hd programming I receive on the local networks thru comcast are really eyecatching. I find that I will now even watch some of the commercials, which I rarely did before. This tv has really lived up to all exspectations so far. I do not notice the TOC, but am very happy with my purchase thru amazon, I saved @ $500 to $600 over in town stores. A great TV.Samsung LN46A750 46-Inch 1080p DLNA LCD HDTV with RED Touch of Color

      [+] 8.0 Very nice tv
Bought this tv 2 weeks ago. Awesome picture, especially with a little calibration. You can do it yourself, just search www.avsforum.com. I see the halo, but it's not a problem for me. You can call Samsung to have the bezel replaced. The on/off issue is a thing of the past. The free blu-ray was a bonus too and works just fine. Take the white glove service with a grain of salt. Just a delivery guy taking the tv inside for you, but I must say delivery was quick, 5 days from purchase. 4 stars because nothing is perfect :-).

      [+] 10.0 samsung LN46A750 1080p DLNA LCD HDTV
I'm very happy with this Samsung LN46A750, last month I've purchased 2 Samsung LN32A650 LCD HDTV for my 2 daughters, picture quality is perfect and I've got this LN46A750 for my living room after that. Honestly this was beyond my expectation, specially the sound, the speakers were built right on the back of this TV, beautiful sound with this TV without the need of external power amps or preamps, at the volume of 50 it will rock your living room. Highly recommended to all buyers. Thanks Amazon for fast delivery and great services.

      [+] 10.0 Terrific TV
I researched TV's for quite awhile. I also read these reviews and they really helped me decide on the LN46750. The TV was delivered on time, it was unpacked and set up. Great delivery service!! The picture is absolutely stunning. WOW!!

Some reviewers complained about glare. My room has a whole wall of windows and my old TV (a 32 inch Toshiba) had a real problem with the glare. Not so the Samsung. Just a beautiful picture. And, the price was right.

      [+] 10.0 What-A-Buy!!
I own multiple LCD HDTVs. I had been shopping around for a 46 or 47 inch when I found the LN46A750. The contrast ratio is excellent with the black capabilities of the higher end models. Plenty of extras and great sound. You can turn the 120Hz off if desired. If you are looking for a 46 inch full-HD television with 120Hz frame rate, this one is for you! By the way, the red touch-of-color on the cabinet is not a distraction.

      [+] 10.0 Awsome!!
My TV came in today and wow!! This is the most user friendly TV I have ever mess around with! It took me 2 weeks before I finally made up my mind. Amazon and the customer reviews helped me out a ton so thank you all! The screen resoulution is incredible. The first movie a had to watch was Transformers on Blu-Ray and man was that a good choice!

      [+] 10.0 worth the money!
everything is good with this tv. the only thing i would complain is that it does not have a remote control option to change the aspect ratio/mode. I need to go through couple steps.

There might be a way that i am not aware of tooo....

overall it is worth the money.

      [+] 8.0 Samsung has a great picture!
The picture is just great! This is really the reason I wanted this set. It also has really good sound also. I find myself looking around for noises that are really from the TV. Many features like "contents" are included but I don't think they will be used much.. games, pitures, songs... Many if Samsung releases web updates for it, it may be of more use. The infolink is really a nice feature, but it doesn't diplay all of your pictures or movies. You need to show only a few at a time, delete them, then show more.
The PIP is really a rip off.. It doesn't work unless you have another device with a tuner althought I still haven't got it to work yet. (I have a Digital convertor box and a VCR and it still doesn't see them a tuners) I was suprised that the tv does not get very much information as to what channel ID's are (like WGN, WTTW, ect;) or even what is on. Very few channels have this information. My old CRT TV almost always had information for every channel and for days ahead as well.

Overall, I am happy with it and love the picture quality of the digital stations, but the analog stations look worse than my old CRT TV. You can delete all the analog stations so it skips them, and goes to the digital one instead. (delete 5, and watch 5-1 instead!)

[+] 10.0 Excellent tv, great price!
I was a little nervous about purchasing such a big-ticket item online, but the price difference was overwhelming. I took the plunge, and saved nearly $700 on this tv by purchasing it from Amazon (vs. Circuit City, Best Buy, Sears, etc.). Got the 3-year extended warranty, which was also cheaper than local retailers. Delivery was excellent -- nice guy, helped me unpack the tv, put it on the table, check for any damage, get it plugged in, check to be sure it worked. It's a great tv, we love it! Amazon was definitely the smart (economic) way to go. Best of luck to retailers who can't compete.

      [+] 10.0 Dramatic picture
I do not notice the touch of color in the frame of the TV, but I can see how if you have light behind your TV, the "halo" might get annoying. It seems a simple solution to move the light source to the side of, or in front of the TV so that there is no light coming from behind it. (Although, for those with living room arrangements that cause the window to be behind the TV, you may find yourself annoyed by "halo")

The sound is good but not great, I am using my stereo system speakers to output the sound from Cable/DVD in a configuration much like having a receiver (the receiver is next on the purchase list). I noticed that HDMI from either input source results in the sound output from the TV (HDMI interface) and the stereo (RCA cables) are not synced (the TV sound occurs a fraction of a second before output to RCA, resulting in an echo), so I am forced to mute the TV. This will hopefully be resolved when I switch to a reciever (but it's not a huge loss if it doesn't, again, muted TV.) This isn't the TVs fault, but the stereos fault, since the stereo does not support a digital interface (HDMI) for sound.

The picture is beautiful. It comes default with the LCD display set to full power always, but I tuned the TV and now when I'm looking at static pictures (or TIVO control panels) the TV reduces power consumption automatically. The UI is not necessarily intuitive, but I didn't have any problems with it.

Integration via Anynet+ with other Samsung products (BluRay DVD in my case) is fantastic, allowing you to use a single remote for all of your devices. I have some non-Samsung products (like Tivo and Cable TV) so I'm still forced to get a universal remote (I did, and it works great). As great as Anynet+ is, I won't be buying a Samsung receiver because I have non-Samsung products... but if I could go all Samsung, Anynet+ is very attractive (saving over $100 on a remote is probably worth the few extra dollars per product to get that kind of integration.)

      [+] 10.0 Experience the 120Hz Frame Rate
The 120Hz frame rate might take a while to get used to. It makes you feel a little bit weird at first. The default setting is set to Medium for the 120 frame rate, but if you change it to Low it makes it feel a lot better.

The color is also very amazing. I played a bluray disc on it and it looks just awsome. The color is so bright that I actually feel like I am in the movie. It actually might look TOO real.

The contrast ratio was also very good. There is not that many TVs that can beat this contrast ratio with this price. It black make the color look even better.

The only one thing that I did not really like about this TV is that the surface reflects light a lot. You will be able to see yourself watching TV sometimes. But as long as the room is not too bright, there is no problem at all.

      [+] 10.0 Impressive
I have owned this TV for a couple of weeks now and I am really impressed by the quality of the picture. When researching this TV I saw that many people were concerned about the red edge and also about the halo effect around the edge of the picture. Neither of those have been an issue. I view this at an angle and have yet to see the halo. I guess you really have to be looking for it. I would definitely recommend this to anyone looking for an HDTV.

      [+] 10.0 Excellent TV
I bought the 750 direct from Amazon and got it about 2 weeks ago. The picture is simply wonderful. I did a lot of research on this and it definitely is worth the money. There *is* a halo problem dealing with the bezel but it has been corrected in newer sets and older sets can have it replaced by Samsung. Personally, the small halo on my set is not a problem. I would like to comment on the Amazon "White Glove Delivery". It was CEVA and Eagle who delivered the set. Two guys delivered it and they were pretty amenable to helping me set it up. I had a 277lb Sony tube behemoth, which they took off the stand for me. I couldn't bribe them to take it outside or take it away. They then waited long enough for me to make sure the TV worked with my cable box. So the delivery was fine. To close...let me say again how much we love the picture on this set. We only have a regular DVD player right now but even that looks great. Next purchase....blu-ray!

This is buy far the best television on the market today until the 9 Series from Samsung comes out. The sound is amazing and now with the Motion Blur feature, LCD's are truly the way to go over plasmas. My only regret is that I didn't buy the 52 inch model.

[+] 4.0 good while it lasted
Bought the unit on amazon, and enjoyed it greatly. Beware of two things the glossy surface which will reflect the light from light sources in the room and during the day time off of pretty much anything else in the room. Since the screen is extremely bright that was not a big deal only in the very dark scenes. Note something else, Amazon no longer allows you to get a price adjustment, as of September 1st. This unit went down in price for $200 less then what I paid for it and I was refused to get the refund. The biggest let down was that the unit stopped working all together two weeks into the ownership. It got stock in the loop of switching itself on, and off and had to be unplugged to put it out of its misery.
Because I could not get the price adjusted earlier I decided to send it back for full refund from amazon and since the unit turned out defective they covered the shipping.

      [+] 10.0 Great TV
I had the TV for two weeks when I couldn't get it to turn on. It would start to flash the red light, music would chime and the turn off. It would then recycle after about 30 seconds until I unplugged it. I called Amazon and found their dial back to work great. Got a representative within a minute or two. They asked me to call Samsung with a number they provided so I did. They set me up with a repair shop. These guys were not close and their time line was going to put me over my 30 day guarantee so I called Amazon and explained what was going on and they offered to extend my offer for a new set or money back until the repairs were done. That rocked!!
The service guys replaced the main circuit board and it's been working perfect. The service guys said that they service many lines of TVs and Samsung was top dog for getting several of the TV parts to them in order to make sure it could be fixed in a single trip. So far I give Amazon and Samsung an A++. It shipped quick and I should note that the shipper can take the boxes, so I was worried about the re boxing if I had to send back. No problem, the shipper boxes it back up for you if it necessary to send the unit back.

Wow! Look at that picture. That is what I have been saying in the last 10 days whenever I watch TV, DVD or Blu-ray.

After many visits and online browsing, I was sure my next TV would be a Samsung. Sony was my brand of choice for TV for many years. I chose Samsung for picture quality and value. I was almost sure on the 46A650 until the price gap dropped to less than $100.00 and a chance to view both TV side by side on the same material at my local store. Despite many stated the different between 650 and 750 are extra woofer, saved materials in the 1GB and USB video capability on the 750, I noticed brighter picture, more contrast and more neutral coloring on the 750 compared to the 650. I am assuming both TVs had factory default setting, as in most large retail stores.

Let's get the imperfection out of the way first but those are minor and not deciding factors for most.

Yes, my TV was manufactured on 08/2008 and the "halo effect" is there. I noticed that even on a brightly lighted store. I have read on this and other sites stating Samsung is aware of this issue and fixes are in order. The halo doesn't really bother me. The clarity, life like quality of this TV won all my attention that I don't even notice the halo even at night with all light turn off. Samsung is great in customer service. I have already contacted service and a tech is going to come to my house to replace the bezel once he got the part. Even with the current bezel, I am still a happy customer.

Yes, it would be nice to have the swivel base as on the 650 but this TV is so light that I can easily move it aside when I needed to connect or disconnect from the back.

The transparency of this TV also may be mistakenly to be its' weakness. I noticed video signal trailing the audio signal (lip-synch) on a couple DVD but not HD or analog TV program. I contacted OPPO and found out there is a firmware update for that player. After installed the latest firmware, the issue went away. Others have reported audio signal trailing video signal. But I wonder if it is due to the other associates equipments. This TV is so transparent; it truly reproduces what feeds into it.

      Here are the good parts.

Sounding of this TV is top notch. Of cause it cannot compares to any half decent home theater system but it beat out my two channel stereo speaker. When I first hooked up the Samsung Blue Ray BP1500, I assumed it would default to 5.1 audio with the optical connection as with Yamaha DVD and OPPO players. I end up watched Iron Man with TV speakers. After help from member of AVSFORUM, I found out the setting for sound and video on that player.

Picture quality is absolutely breath taking. It is like an excellent, well set up Hi-End two channels audio system. You can hear, in this case, see the depth, color, and detail so vividly, life like. Before I received Blu-ray discs, I was watching old DVD, original and back up copies with my OPPO player. All the movies were like watching the first time since I have never seen such outstanding picture quality. (I have Sony rear projection LCD and watched many times on my brothers' Philips and Mitsubishi 1080 LCD) I couldn't detect the big different between the back up and original DVD on the OPPO. It would partially due to the edge enhancement of the Faroudja's Directional Correlational Deinterlacing processing. The OPPO player would smooth out edges and enhance imperfection on DVD. Not so the BP1500. With the BP1500, a poorly recorded DVD would clearly detect on 24Fs setting but not on lower setting. With back up DVD, I actually prefer watching the good old OPPO player but the BP1500 would provide much better 3D like image and higher contrast and detail pictures with original DVD and Blu-ray discs. BP1500 is a good match and a winner from Samsung.

I am so happy with the TV. The choice on 750 over the 650 is validated again when guests and family members enjoyed those preinstalled programs on the content section. The sounding of the 750 over the 650 is easily worth the extra $50+ I would save if I purchased the 650. I haven't had a chance to use the USB or the DLNA yet.

The new 850 is thinner and the 950 is surely more advance. I don't even want to check spec and watching those TV since I just can't dump another few thousands to upgrade associated equipments.

With the current pricing and value provided by this 750, I would buy another one if any TV in my house needed replacement.

      [+] 10.0 Best TV Now (2008)
I purchased this TV directly form Amazon, I spent a couple of months reading reviews like this and also going to showrooms and I got to tell you this TV performs better than most plasmas (Not Pioneer one), I compare contrast deep of black and colors, and they are far better compared with most other models.

My only dissapointment is the remote, I don't like the design and I find it very large and uncomfortable, still very usable but ugly.

About the plastic border is not really a complain, at least it doesn't reflect it's own tv light as others reviews said. It will be nice if you can add a soft back light to enhance contrast and make your TV look better.

The sound is better than average TV's and the image quality is impressive, upscaling low definition channels with almost no artifacts and showing perfectly HD channels. Í'm really impressed.

I'm using regular cable with no HD decoder and will upgrade soon, but quality is awesome.

Delivery took almost 1 week and a half but was as expected, perfectly delivered with no damages.

      Thanks Amazon, same TV @ *estBuy was 2399 + tax + S&H. I paid $1699.

[+] 8.0 Amazing clarity and HD experience with great sound
I upgraded from Samsung DLP 56" to this Samsung 46" LCD and the difference in HD quality is amazing. It feels like the characters are in my living room. The sound quality is also pretty amazing. The only reason for a four star instead of five is the inconvenience of changing settings. My previous DLP had one click PIP turn on/off option. The PIP only allows you to see PIP with over the air TV. With most households now having dish or cable, giving PIP for just over the air is a big miss given the fact, I had an ability to have PIP over two component devices with the DLP.

      Delivered way pass the schedule.

This LCD HDTV is the one that I have found outperformed among
any other HDTVs including SONY's top models.

I used to be a SONY freak when it comes to TVs, but...when I compared
the both side by side at a store, I could see and tell the picture's
superior clarity and smoothness on samsung's over sony's.

Only thing that I personally not pleased with this samsung model is that
it does not sweeble, yet the picture quality and other fuctionality on

[+] 8.0 Great for TV and Moive Picture quality, not for games
So, I bought this tv becuase Samsung seems to be the best brand at the moment. I have had it for about a week and the picture really is astounding. I have been watching alot of over-the-air digital channels, (with my bunny ears) and i am constantly amazed. The same goes for movies. However i hooked up my video game console to this tv and when I tried to play, all of the movements on screen were about .1-.2 seconds behind me pushing the button on the controller. It is not huge but in any action oriented game it makes a differnece. I have loved everything else the menus are easy for me to scroll through, once i became accustomed to the scroll wheel on the remote, and the speakers are good as far as TV speakers go. It is really too bad about the lag for gaming though

      [+] 4.0 "halo effect" intolerable
Beautiful-looking set, amazing picture, but the "halo effect" (fuzzy reflection of the edge of the picture in the 45-degree clear edge of the bezel) is extremely distracting and simply inexcusable in a higher-end TV like this... in any TV at all, really. What was Samsung thinking? Did they not notice this during testing, or (and I struggle to believe this) did they actually intentionally build in this "feature" as some people claim to have been told by customer service? At best, people tolerate it, but many, including my significant other and I, aren't willing to deal with it. Had an ambivalent viewing experience for 3 days, then decided to return the set. Hoping the 850 won't have this ridiculous characteristic, but the images I've seen so far look as though it has the same 45-degree clear bezel edge... awaiting the reviews.

[+] 10.0 LOVE IT! Thanks AMAZON & Ceva!
We researched a bit and shopped around like most people do when they are about to shell out a chunk of benji's! :-) Reviews of the 650 were very helpful, and surprisingly the price difference between the two models was only a few dollars!!!! :-) We ordered on a Monday and surprisingly CEVA delivered on a Friday, 3 days earlier than expected! CEVA white glove delivery was professional and we were impressed at how quick the set up was. He didn't wait for the entire channel scanning to complete, but everything worked and we kept the box just in case.

The lcd sits on a media table using the non-swivel/tilt stand. The lcd looks so awesome - a perfect addition and upgrade from my Sony 27in flat screen tube. The TOC is very subtle - and often times I don't notice it. We have yet to purchase a blu ray, but the dvd upconverter makes the picture quality of old DVDs AMAZING!! The HD channels I have access to right now are also very stunning! We're really enjoying this new set and watching the olympics with such clarity - love 120HZ! Have not really adjusted the settings, but I agree with others that the "click wheel" remote takes some time to get used to.

We did notice the "halo effect" on the bezel when we watch in the dark - but this is only slightly noticeable at certain angles. The picture quality is so brilliant that we are not at all distracted by it.

We'll be looking into blu ray that also has a dvd-r. Any recommendations? Is this device out yet?

Oh, any chance that swivel/tilt stands from older model samsung can work with this one? I like how the 650 swivels. :-)

[+] 10.0 Superb picture quality and great sound
After doing a lot of research online, in stores and reading lots of reviews at various sites like Amazon, CNet etc. I bought this TV and got it 10 days ago.

A lot has been covered in the reviews here, so i will try to focus on some other points.

Summary: Buy it now and from Amazon and save money.

      Pros:
      - Excellent picture quality...really superb. Beats LG & Sony for sure. There are several different modes for viewing.
      - Great sound. There are modes like movie, normal, music etc which are really very impressive. I decided to buy a home theater system later, since the TV itself has made a good impact on my pocket.
      - Amazon delivery. Very good and timely. Came on specified date and time by CEVA. Guy opened it up connected the cable and scanned the channels and let me check for working condition.
      - Not very heavy, so easy to mount yourself.
      - Tilt wheel remote..a bit tricky initially, but you will love it once you get used to it.
      - Contrast is excellent due toits highest contrast ratio in all the TVs in market. Check my pictures for detail.
      - Warranty : Samsung provides 1 year in-home care warranty for this TV. If you register it online, you get 3 months of extended warranty free.
You can buy 3 years extended warranty either through Amazon (in first 60 days of purchase) or directly from Samsung (in fist 11 months of purchase). There is a significant price difference.
      - USB port is good and it is so easy to view pictures or movie files.
I connected my iPod (after enabling disc usage in iTunes) and it works
      perfect with the TV.

I am using a Monster Power Center to feed the power to TV, DVD & cable box and also for the cable signal to my cable box. It is said that it improves the picture quality esp in HD.

I have mounted this TV on Bell'O FP-4850HG High Gloss Black Flat Panel Mounting System. (Read my review on the mounting system too)

So far, I have not been able to take it online either with wireless or Ethernet (LAN) connection. The Wireless Key from Samsung is on nation-wide back order and TV couldn't detect my LAN settings. Need to figure this one out yet.

Some people have reported issues with RED Touch of Color and reflection. I don't see these as an issue. My TV is facing a big window and I put blinds down, if reflection gives a viewing problem. However, its not that huge. You can strategically place your TV to avoid that. And I have not observed any reflection issues from floor lamps or ceiling lights.

[+] 4.0 Touch of Color bezel ruins otherwise good TV
The Touch of Color bezel is made of such cheap, soft plastic that it is impossible to dust or clean (or even touch) without causing fine scratches, which eventually form white hazy patches all over the frame. No matter how carefully you try to protect the plastic or how gently you try to dust or clean it, it scratches. What's worse, the fine scratches pick up and reflect any lights in the room, causing harsh glaring patches of reflection around the TV.

I called Samsung customer support twice about the problem and all they said was "we don't warrant physical damage."

It's a shame Samsung used such cheap, soft plastic for the bezel because this is otherwise a very good TV. But you can't stand to watch the picture because your view is constantly distracted by the ugly glaring patches reflecting back from the bezel.

My advice it to spend your money on a TV with a traditional metal or solid black bezel.

      [+] 10.0 Awesome HDTV - Highly recommended
This is an amazing HDTV, blows away everything out there and is competitively priced. The picture is truly stunning! We have the 46" model and the picture is so vivid and large that my wife was wanting to back up further in the room (though she has gotten use to it now).

We normally don't watch the news or nighttime shows but when turning on a 1080 high def channel, it's hard to turn it off since the picture and colors are just so good, we end up watching things we normally wouldn't just because the picture is so good.

We also still watch a decent amount of standard def shows on this tv since we haven't upgraded our DVR and everything else yet, and the tv does a good job of upscaling and rendering the pictures on the large screen. We'll certainly want to get everything possible in high def in the future, but in the meantime it does a great job of upscaling while we are in transition. I do not have a Blueray player yet to try out the 1080p video yet, but the 1080i from the small antenna we have is just amazing!

We ordered it in time for the Olympics and are enjoying every minute of it (in 1080i). The color, sharpness are just phenomenal. The 120hz refresh and smoothing handle full motion very well. What a wonderful TV!

Some people in the forums have mentioned a problem with a little glare around the edge of the tv (reflection on the exterior edge of the glass frame), but honestly it isn't a problem for us. We currently have the tv on its stand at eye level (without tilting down which would get rid of issue) and it's almost not even noticeable, certainly not anything we'd complain about.

The extra features of this model over last years include being able to watch video (in addition to photos and music) off the usb port or via the network (using software on your pc). We haven't tried sharing from the pc yet (but plan to), the display off the usb works great. We've already taken photos and videos from our cameras, copied to usb flash drive and plugged into tv for instant slide shows and movie viewing.

This model also has additional content like built in slide shows, cooking recipes, and workout content. The built in slideshows are wonderful having some Monet artwork and some awesome landscape photographs with accompanying music. It's just beautiful and the content can potentially be updated from Samsung (according to the manual). This is just a start of what could be done with content for this TV, I hope that Samsung and/others will continue to make more for it. It even has some stories, songs, and games for the kids.

It also can instantly fetch the weather, stock prices, and blog news entries (complete with photos) and display on the screen over what you are watching. This works great for checking the weather, news, stocks, etc. while waiting for a show to come back on.

Built in sound is pretty good, many people will probably go with a receiver to handle the sound, but the in the box speakers and subwoofer do a decent job for us.

Amazon white glove delivery was great! No problems with tv, they set it up and helped us check that it was undamaged and was acceptable before they left. We had no dead pixels and it was in perfect condition.

We researched and checked out many models and other brands before choosing this tv and as for right now, I believe this is not only the best value HDTV for this size, I have not seen any TV that is better in terms of picture quality, contrast, sharpness, etc. The forums are full of other happy customers like me which all had similar reports. I would highly recommend this LCD HDTV!!!

      [+] 10.0 Beautiful!
We LOVE our new TV, and we haven't even gotten HD cable yet. It looks much better than we expected. We've been enjoying the Olympics, especially the opening ceremonies.

For those of you who wonder, the red on the frame isn't all that noticeable, not obtrusive at all.

We like the artwork that you can display, and want to explore the children's built-in programming when our grandson comes to visit. We also like that we have the biggest digital photo frame on the block.

This was a long-awaited and much-researched purchase. We got the best TV we could afford. Despite popular opinion, bigger is not necessarily better for flat-screen TV's. My husband wanted to get a 55-inch TV, while I figured a 42-inch would be about right. We compromised on the 46 inch. He now admits that any larger would have been too big, and the 46 inch is nearly too big. That's as close as I'm going to get to a "you were right, I was wr-wr-wr-wrong."

      [+] 10.0 Samsung LN46A750 vs. Sharp Aquos LC-46SE94U
I did months of research before purchasing this TV. It came down to this model and the Sharp Aquos special edition. (LC-46SE94U).

On paper they're very similar products both with different advantages. Samsung has an extra HDMI port while Sharp has free internet diagnosis. (hook your tv up to the internet and Sharp can fix your tv remotely if anything ever went wrong with it.)

On paper I was sold on Sharp. But then I went and looked at the tvs in person to check picture quality. The Sharp didn't even compare to the Samsung. I changed the settings to make sure they weren't trying to sell one over the other. (I'm skeptical about retail stores) This Samsung has a picture quality like no other LCD. The blacks are as deep as plasmas. There can an issue with glare because of the glass over the screen... but if you're smart about where you place your tv in relation to your windows... this is not an issue.

Now this is the best part everyone needs to know... because I didn't realize it until someone told me. Amazon.com has a 30-day post-order price guarantee. I purchased this tv for $2,074 and within 30 days it dropped down to $1,824. I saved $250 after I bought this tv!!! Amazon was very helpful and didn't mind at all that I emailed them every day the price dropped asking to refund the difference to my credit card. (you obviously have to contact them each time it drops, they won't do it automatically) Just make sure you buy it from Amazon.com and not one of the sellers they sometimes promote because they won't honor the guarantee.

You simply cannot go wrong with this TV. Go check it out for yourself at your local electronic store and come back home and order it from Amazon.com and save $$$.

      [+] 10.0 Thanks Amazon
Went to American TV to look for an updated one and thought this Samsung 46"LN46A750 flat panel had the best picture. Numerous lies as to a deposit to save one, stock, and three missed deliveries lead me to cancel and try Amazon from whom I have purchased other items in the past. What a great surprise when they had the exact TV, in stock, out for delivery the next day and received, unpacked and inspected by the end of the week. The picture and sound look great so far, and I saved over $500. Thanks once again Amazon for a great price, free delivery(no excess gas charge) and no lies!
