SanDisk 1 GB Secure Digital SD Card (SDSDB-1024, Bulk Package)

This review is not about the product, it's about the seller (ChiTek). The product is awesome (hence the 5 stars, I won't hurt a good product's rating for a lousy seller) - bought one at K-Mart for alot more $$ 2 years ago - still going strong! If you're thinking of buying it here, PLEASE read on...

If an offer seems too good to be true, it usually is. The price for this 1GB SD card (sold and shipped from ChiTek) is only $1.30... wow, pretty good, right? WELL... just to see what the shipping would be I went into checkout for 6 of these and 4 of the 1GB microSD's at $2.33 each, also from ChiTek, so you know they'll ship them together. Here's what came up (copied and pasted from actual check out page) - thank goodness I didn't accidentally hit "PLACE ORDER":

Now, I understand that $85 isn't a bad price for what totals 10GB of storage, but that's not the point. $65.39 TO SHIP 10 LITTLE TEENY CARDS IN WHAT WOULD PROBABLY BE A SINGLE YELLOW BUBBLE-WRAP ENVELOPE??? I don't care what they put them in - that's ludicrous. They didn't combine the shipping charges, but they'll put them all in the same envelope or box (was standard ground shipping, btw) for less than $10 and pocket the other $55. ChiTek wants to pull you in with a great price in hopes that you'll want to buy a bunch to stock up and won't pay attention at check out to the total. Bad business, guys, really bad business.

great price at the time for this size storage disk. By the time I got around to reviewing this product, the price had came down considerably.

I will only use this brand. My photographer friend will use only this brand also. 'Nuff said.

Ordered a secure digital card and multi-card reader as a package. The card works fine, I'd order one again no problem. But the card reader has problems. No luck finding drivers to make it useable, no help from seller.

I purchased two of the SanDisk 1 GB SD cards about a year ago and have run them through PCs, digital cameras and digital picture frames without a single problem. I read great reviews for the SanDisk products, prior to my purchase and now have the opportunity to write one myself, as I have been very pleased with their performance.

The item is a good buy but watch the shipping cost. It costs 6.90 each for shipping if you order 1 or a 100. Be sure compare total cost when deciding on this item.

I bought this for a new camera I got and it works great. No problems!! You can however find larger memory amounts for even cheaper prices. I bought a second car for $8 and it was 8GB.

This product is great, but there are better ones for your money.

I saw this when it was only $6, and I thought, "Hey what the heck, I'll order this." So when I received it we took so many pictures that it totalled up to almost 380 photos. Just love this.

It has been 17 days since my order was supposedly shipped and it has still not arrived. I will never do business with this company again.

This product performs flawlessly. I've own several of these and I've never had any trouble with them.

bought this for my garmin gps and have had no problems...not that ive ever had a problem with any sd card...but bulk packaging is always a great buy...for those of you who don't know the term...just means it comes in the protective case...no plastic packaging and pamphlets talking about other products you can buy...if nothing else...buy bulk packaging to reduce the amount of waste that comes along with traditionally packaged products

I got this card for my camera. It's a great card and holds a lot of pictures. I got it for pretty cheap.

after the mix-up i was refunded promptly and received the item in a timely fashion

I bought three of the bulk package cards for $2.49 each. I did not pay attention to the shipping, but just discovered Handling and Shipping was $24.42, first class in a bubble-wrap envelope from New York to Indiana. So the final cost was about $10 each! It came from Digital Media Outlet.

I couldn't believe the price of $2.95 ea. for the "SanDisk SDSDB-1024-A10 1 GB Secure Digital Card (Bulk Package)," sold through Digital Media Source. However, once I got to the final check-out page I saw why they could offer such a low price. The Shipping & Handling for 4 of them was $24.96, more than $6 each!! Needless to say, I did not order any.

This is a $2.99(?!!!) item with a $6.95 shipping charge PER ITEM in fine print from some non-Amazon company. If you order 10 you will be charged $98.00, not the $40.00 which you would expect! Misleading pricing?? You be the judge... Personally I would prefer the item be offered for $9.95 shipping included.

I got one of these for my nikon about four months ago, and I haven't filled it yet!!! Save your money though and buy it in person from a store (like Office Depo) and save the shipping!

It works great and stores a lot of space. The shipping was way faster that I thought it would be. Great product!

I was really excited to see the price on this card, however, once I tried putting in my phone, I was unable to format it because my phone did not recgnize the card. So, whenever I added files to it, they wouldn't be there the next time I turned on the phone or took the card out. I had to go to my service provider and get a card from them. Be careful, if something is too good to be true, then it probably isn't

I bought this with a great price... but beware the shipping was more than the disk... 12.00!!!

The SD is sended packed inside a clear case, which is useful to carry it all times, if you do not need the retail package, buy this one with less money.

NOW THE REALLY BAD NEWS......THE CARD SIMPLY DOES NOT WORK. I FORMATTED IT, TRIED IT IN FRIENDS CAMERAS AND DID EVERY THING IMAGINABLE BUT TO NO AVAIL. WHEN I CONTACTED EEK THEY REPLIED THAT THE 30 DAY RETURN PERIOD HAD EXPIRED ( ONLY BY HOURS DEPENDING ON WHEN THE PERIOD BEGINS ) AND THAT I NOW HAD TO DEAL DIRECTLY WITH SANDISK.

Well I am not sure what else you would be looking for. It holds a ton of pictures on my camera and slides right in ready to use.

This card works extremely well. I use it for my camera, and also my school-issued palm pilot. with my camera, i can hold anywhere from 400-2000 pictures depending on the selected quality for the camera. then i can take the card directly to palm and place the pictures on there right away without having to use a computer.

The package that I ordered came but there was nothing inside. Amazon or Digital Media Source will do anything about it.

I use these secure digital cards to store two types of data, which can then be run through my Nintendo Play-yan: .mp3 and .mpeg4 files. I then insert the SD card into an external peripheral for my computer called the USB 19-in-1 card reader, which the computer recognizes and creates a seperate F drive, which then allows the files to be downloaded and stored. I can't really think of any good reasons why it should not receive five orange stars. I personally think that the SD cards are a little more convenient (I won't say "better" or "superior to") than the CF cards, simply because they are cheaper (if you compare the prices of a 4GB CF card with the prices of a 4GB SD card on this site alone, then you will see what I mean) and they are slightly easier to find.

After ordering on 12-15-06, I still haven't received my shipment
being it is 1-18-06. I also ordered the 1-3 days expedited shipping.
They said the shipping address was incorrect and when they received the
package back they would contact me. I sent them the address on the 3rd of
January and still haven't seen a package.

I bought this product and found that it didn't work in the camera I bought it for. Suspicious, I contacted SanDisk and found that the card was not genuine. The SanDisk logo on the back of this card is not on any regular SanDisk cards. Even if this card works in your camera, I would not keep it. Fake SD cards are known to have less reliability and slower read times. They are also not supported by SanDisk. This item has been switching sellers recently. I wonder why. I know this review looks awkward among other good reviews, but please believe me. Do not buy!

This beats swapping out memory cards. 1GB is all that my camera would support or I would have gotten something bigger.

This SD card has more than enough space for all my pictures. I have my camera set to the highest resolution and still have more than enough room!

The SanDisk is the best upgrade for your digital camera. This one works like everyone elses, but only way cheaper.

WORKS FINE. STORES LOTS OF MOVIE BITS AND HI RES PICS ON MY CAMERA. I HAVE HAD NO PROBLEMS WITH IT AND IT SHIPPED VERY VERY FAST.

I took this memory card for my Canon SD 600 camera and as far now i am very much happy with it.previously i was worried about speed of memory card.but that is also very good and fast.so i dont have any complains.
1GB card is more than sufficient for camera.
in hign resolution and best quality image it stores 300 pics. and in medium quality it can store upto 1000 pics.

What else can you say, its cheap and does what it is supposed to do.

Item was shipped Quickly. Arrived in bulk package (in an envelope not a retail package,as stated). Great price I would have just thrown the retail package out anyway. I didn't have to pay for trash. Thanks again for a great price on a quality memory card.

I ordered four of these items, and so far, they have done well. No failures, yet. Although I had a CF card of this brand that failed (my only card that did, ever), luckily before I had used it on a trip. San Disk gave me a bigger capacity card, promptly, by a phone call to their tech support, and I was satisfied. I do bring along back-up, so I didn't miss any shots due to less memory.

It may be better to have several smaller cards, as you don't have all your eggs in one basket. Terrible to have just one 4 GB card, and then it fails. I tried then to have different cards from different manufacturers, but because of the good deal, here, decided to buy all my cards the same way. Just can't find a better price! Now, memory cards are available everywhere, so I can just go to a store and buy another one, should one or two fail on a road trip.

My new 7 MP Nikon Coolpix manual, then, says a higher speed card may be required to prevent quits during TV mode recording, but I shot once for 40 seconds, and that came out fine. They'll be good up to about 11 minutes on one 1 GB card, but I haven't needed to shoot that long. I'm probably going to get a high speed card when I can get another good deal. The lowering price is now a better, great bargain, and if I should need more SD cards, I know where to get them!
