[+] 10.0 Loved Force Unleashed
I just finished the game and it was so much fun. I loved it. I know some people complained but I did not have any problems with it, except I wish I could play through to beat the characters, but that being said. This game is exactly what it is intended for...fun!! I hope they make another!!

[+] 6.0 Very poor graphics but excellent Wii control
Poor graphics: This is the 1st non-Mario (simple character) type Wii game that I bought. I read bipolar reviews that some said graphics are adequate and some said great. Gosh! It might depend on the age of the review writers but this game's graphics are WAY BELOW AVERAGE! It reminds me of PS1 type of graphics! Even Final Fantasy's cut scene version on PS1 is far better than this. Perhaps in game play the system can't handle too much, but I'm just so disappointed at the quality of the cut scenes. They are just as bad as PS1 level of graphic details - pointy face and awkward movements. This dramatically reduces my love of this game.

Great control - the fun part is really the way how Wii is designed for the controls. It's absolutely awesome for how you can wield your remote as lightsaber and nun-chuck as force. This is why I didn't buy the game in other versions as it's so much healthier to exercise while playing.

I haven't finished playing the game but the story is quite intriguing and does add to the experience. I also agree with one reviewer about how you just don't die in this game - it goes take away the challenge part (great for young kids but not so great for more experienced gamers).

Overall, Lucas Arts has mostly produced very mediocre video games for such a wonderful franchise. I hope that some day other developers can create a much better Star Wars game for fans.

[+] 4.0 The Force?
I was very excited to get this game. I did not expect it to be so short. I suppose I could have made it take longer if I increased the difficulty, but if not, you can blast through this game in three or four sittings...less if your sittings are long. I heard that they made the game for the xbox and play station platforms, and kind of didn't put as much into the wii version. I only played it once through...which is out of the normal for star wars games and me.

[+] 8.0 Lot's of fun with minor flaws..
Ok.. So I'll start saying that I dont own this game, I rented it 'cause I wanted to try it first...

Having said that, I also have foud the key strong points are:

- Adequate Graphics. I own a Wii so I bet the xBox or PS3 are far better, but this one looks very ok.
- Great sound. Nobody pays attention to music, but this game has a lot of it and you feel like youre actually on a movie.
- You are on the dark side!!! At least! I mean I have played a lot of Starwars games, including KOTOR 1 and 2 and beleive me, it always is easier if you're good. But in this game you start as a really bad guy. In fact, u get o play Darth Vader!.
- Beside the "force points" you get for killing enemies, and then trade them for levels of skills (i.e. a stronger force push) you unlock new crystals for your lightsaber, new force powers and some more stuff wich is awesome.
- The Wii controls are really natural, there are a lot of force powers and Wii controls make it really easy and enjoyable to use them.

And for the cons:

- Camera movement is widely mentioned in this reviews but it gets fixed if you increase the camera speed option in the menu of the game.
- The third-person disadvantage is there, truly if you're on a room filled withj storm troopers it gets difficult to use force powers accurately. Still the AI of the game helps you a bit there, so whenever you throw something it hits the nearest enemy, and stuff like that.
- True, if you die there's not a lot of consequences, still, this game is for fun, not for repeating the whole level if the boss kills you. Besides, there is a consequence, your force points diminish and it takes you more time to aquire more points so u can buy extra levels for your powers. And in the bosses they regain energy, so if you die they recover about 30% of their strength.
-Bad point that the games saves a lot in the check points but if you turn off and on the wii, you have to start from the beginning, but well chapters are not that long.

In general it's not a perfect game, so it does not get a 5 star grade, but still is a lot of fun to play it for like an hour from time to time and maybe on some weekend afternoon.

[+] 8.0 Great stress reliever!
I'm only a casual gamer, but I've played almost all previous LucasArts titles (mostly on the PC) and loved them. My favorite games have been in the Jedi Knight series. Force unleashed gives that first-person gameplay style a new dimension on the Wii. You can really get immersed in the game by using the nunchuk to push/toss/fry stormtroopers or pick up objects to toss at your enemies (great stress relief). There are enough force powers to try to master, also. The lightsaber control is decent with the Wii remote. The game has a slight learning curve, so don't get frustrated initially. The storyline is great, and I feel the graphics are adequate enough for me (didn't buy a wii for graphics). The sound is good as well. A nice addition to my limited Wii collection.

[+] 8.0 Death & Destruction in the Palm of Your Hands!
The writers to some liberties with the story line, but the gameplay is awesome. I don't think I've enjoyed playing a game this much in years.

As soon as I heard about this game I was on the website every week to get all the details. I was happy to see that, instead of using old models and game physics, they developed a totally new 'reality' for the Star Wars world. The controls are easy to remember and use, and the the lightsaber action is the best I could have asked for. And special props to Lucas and his team for the first character you play as in the game (I won't spoil it) it definitely started the game with a bang!

Good Job LucasArts! Now lets see this in a fully customizable MMORPG!

[+] 2.0 Buggiest game for the wii of all time!
This game had so much potential. The wii version has terrible graphics (which I did know before buying it) that would be compared to early game cube games. It crashes every 10 minutes so after 3 weeks I am only half way through the game. The motion is sort of cool and a little intuitive but thats all that makes this game berable. I actually bought it for my 360 and it is so much better. DO NOT BUY THIS FOR THE WII!

[+] 2.0 You disappoint me, Master Kenobi
If you've played any other Jedi/Force games you can safely give this one a miss. The only thing you're going to find superior about Force Unleashed is a more complex physics engine, and it is pitifully under utilized. There is a certain level of satisfaction from picking up a storm trooper with the Force and tossing him off of Cloud City, don't get me wrong. Unfortunately those moments are few and far between and after the novelty wears off you're in for a very repetitive game. Here's the break-down:

Force powers and a light sabre are your only weapons in this game, but not the light sabre you remember from the movies. No, with this light sabre that you can outright *impale* a simple storm trooper and watch him stand up afterward and begin shooting again. Dramatically slicing through the leg of an AT-ST with the light sabre (a point of focus in one of the games special combos, ala Prince of Persia) does not cut off the leg or impair its function in any way. This light sabre is frequently is blocked by normal metal weapons rather than vaporizing the metal as it effortlessly slices through them. Lastly, if enemies are shooting mythical "blue" blaster bolts at you, your light sabre will be powerless against them.

Several levels and parts of levels in the game are used multiple times. Other than that lame and transparent attempt, the levels are all painfully linear and flooded with enemies each time you visit them. Some of the art in them is subpar. Some of the gameplay elements in them are just plain stupid. Plants that explode when something touches them? Obviously I'm the only person in this world (what? I'm chasing a Jedi/Storm Troopers/Weird Purple Guys around this planet?) or they'd all have been dead long before I got here.

There is no real consequence for death. If you die, you come back. If you were, say, fighting a Jedi or other boss at the time, the boss may or may not have healed slightly during the intervening 3 seconds. Just slash at him repeatedly, dying a few times along the way, and he'll eventually die.

To top it all off the game has many bugs. On the rare occasion there is a door in the game, you'll frequently notice that it does not open before bad guys magically walk through it. On other occasions, you will be under assault by invisible foes.

In conclusion if you're looking for a Star Wars game you will find something like Jedi Knight 2 to be a much better game.

[+] 4.0 Needs more work
Game menu navigation 0 stars. Absolutely terrible job of handling the controls/controllers. This game is very difficult to get it how you want. For example, if you have already added a second WII controller, it won't be there when you start the game. You need to go through a cumbersome process to add it again. Clearly the game was designed for PS3/Xbox first and ported over to WII afterwards. I've never found myself swearing at developers while trying to play a game - ever. I'm the kind of guy who builds my own computers and I was frustrated.

The light sabre play is fun. The graphics are ok. It's not precise enough though that a flailing 4 year old can't out-sabre his veteran gamer dad though. A good and bad thing. My son doesn't get tired of it and I find myself occasionally out played. A good improvement for the game after completely re-writing the menu and navigation would be to adjust the sensitivity and precision for sabre use. Seems like it has that "everybody wins" feel to it like WII boxing. The "Force pushing/strangulation/emperor electricity" is cool.

[+] 8.0 The Force is storng on the wii
Star Wars games have always been a hit or a miss. So when Lucasarts announce there new game Star Wars the force unleashed to appear on every video game platforms I was a little worried considering not only the history of star wars games but the wii version (which this review is base on) would get the short end of the stick (Considering how some third party developers have been lazy on the wii). So the question is how douse the wii version hold up compare to the other versions (PS3, 360,PS2,PSP, and DS) well before I give you my pro's and con's on the wii version of the force unleashed. I like to point out that each versions is different like...

* The PS2, PSP, and the Wii version have several extra level not found in the other version.
* Duel Mode is only in the Wii version.
* The PS3/360 and DS take a action RPG approach where you power up you character by defeating a certain amount of foes. Where the PS2, PSP, and Wii take more of a God Of War approach.
* In the PS3/360/DS version defeating your enemies leave behind green orbs (red orbs in the DS version) that refill your energy. The PS2/PSP/Wii version you'll have to find Bacta Tank (heath Pack) throughout the levels to refill your energy.
* Bonus Objectives are only in the PS3/360 version.
* In the PS2/PSP/Wii/DS version Force Lightning is available at the start of the game. In the PS3/360 version you have to defeat enough foes to unlock Force Lightning.
And now for the Pro and Con

Pro

* As mentioned above the Wii version definitely has a God of War & Psi-Ops feel to it.
* Extra levels, Duel Mode, and a whole brunch of Holocron and Collectible give the Wii version a good amount of replay value.
* Very good use of the Wii Remote & Nunchuk (Example: when you swing the Remote to the Left the main character will swing his lightsaber to the left so the Wii motions in this game are very well done.

Con

* Even thought the game has a God of war feel to is don't expect to do insane combos.
* The Graphics in the Wii version are Passable (It's not a bad looking game) But I have seemed better looking game on the Wii.
* The camera is ok but it takes some practice.

Overall: I was very please with how the Wii version turn out. It's not the best looking game or the best Star Wars game but the Wii version hold its own very well and I recommend you at least give the Wii version a try.

[+] 6.0 OK but short
Overall this game is okay. But it gets repitive on the Wii. I sugest getting it for Xbox 360 or PS3 because their versions are much longer and have so much to offer. Dont be fooled by the 2 player on Wii. It gets boring after 3 matches.

[+] 6.0 Too Short!!
I have been a starwars fan for my whole life, and was anxiously awaiting this game. While it was definately fun to play, there are many ways they could have improved the game.

My main problem is, it is WAY too short. I beat the game and unlocked most everything in a total of 6-7 hours. I guess I was hoping for something more along the lines of KOTOR with just amazing force powers.

The story could have been better. While it does fit well between episodes III and IV, it could definately have ended better.

In the end, I would say rent it.

[+] 8.0 Great game for us Star Wars nerds
I bought TFU yesterday and have had a hard time stopping my play time since. The controls are great! Slash away like a maniac with the Wii remote and your character does the most beautiful combos. But my favorite is in the left hand. The nunchuck force delivery system! I've already maxed out my force push to the point where I can dispatch 1/2 dozen stormtroopers with one push. Grap is awesome, too; theres nothing like picking up your enemy and throwing him/her off a balcony or out a window (and yes, you can smash them through the glass) in cloud city.
The only bad part of the game is the camera. For the most part it stays behind you, but it's often slow to react to turns. It would be nice to be able to use the otherwise useless left/right d-pad functions to control the camera. The game is linear, but no more than any of the Jedi Knight games. I guess at 38 years old, I'm too old to understand why the graphics appear to some as substandard. Personally, I think the graphics beat the hell out of the Atari games I played as a kid.
I've logged over 7 hours of play time so far and I'm pretty far into the story. This weekend I think I'll have to serve up a large portion of whoop-a$$ to my kids in duel mode. We haven't tried that yet.
For me, it was worth buying the game to have it around to duel on. If dueling isn't your bag, rent it.

[+] 10.0 Huh?
This is the most fun I've had with the Wii yet. I love this game! The graphics are as good as they can be on the Wii (the resolution can't compete with other consoles), but Wii's interactive controls can't be beat! Feels like you're holding a real light-saber. Hardcore gamers might not like this game (they rarely like licensed games, like Godfather, Hulk, Iron Man, etc.) but if you're any kind of Star Wars fan, buy this NOW.

[+] 10.0 "Star Wars on Nintendo WII"
I think this was a great game, i rate games on what they are w/o comparisons to to same game on other systems( xbox 360/PS3 ). I have read where reviewers say the graphics are "ok" but lack the polish of the game on other systems, which makes me wanna ask; Why didn't you buy the game on another system, at this point I think that everyone is aware of the technical limitations of the Wii. I think the graphics and quality of this game is on point w/ 1st party nintendo games. I've also read reviews where ppl say that this game lacks depth, .......its a STAR WARS game what really do you expect? I guess that an original story and a great game engine doesn't count for anything.
Reviewer [AYKS05D5N0NXO] | Date [September 19, 2008]
[+] 8.0 Great Game but too short
unlike many other star wars games this game is incredibly short. i got it on opening day tuesday and just playing a few hours a night and it's now thursday and i already beat it??? Even though the control and usage of the force and saber with the wii mote and nunchuck was absolutly incredible the length and toughness fell way short. i honestly think they put in the dual mode just to hopefully add somthing extra to the game since it was so short. The story line was really good although i found the ending a little dissapointing. Seriously wait untill the price goes down a bit on this one 50 bucks is way to much for so little play time.
If your looking for a star wars game thats longer and more challenging try KOTOR and KOTOR2 Star Wars Knights of the Old RepublicStar Wars Knights of the Old Republic II
